An unemployed single mother opens a prosperous business. A pennypincher overcomes his stingy habits. A widow uncovers a creative talent that evolves into a profession. These and other true stories, recounted by Richard Webster in Uriel, demonstrate the impact this powerful archangel has had on countless lives.
Known for transforming misfortunes into blessings, Uriel can heal emotional trauma, enhance creativity, enhance prosperity, develop intuition, and bring tranquility. Whether you need spiritual enlightenment, creative inspiration, or prophetic insight, the practical techniques in this book-involving meditation, color, music, and crystals-can put you in touch with the Angel of Salvation.
Oh. Oh dear. This is... well. It's simply dreadful. I'd been hoping for some reliable information about the Archangel Uriel; however, this book is so heavily padded with cut-and-paste New Age and Wiccan material and supposed "real live angelic encounters" that are entirely unverifiable that even the scant information that is consistent with the primary Hebrew and Christian Scriptural sources doesn't seem credible.
I truly dislike giving negative reviews. And, for the record, I have nothing against New Age or Wiccan philosophies or practices. I do have rather a lot against the philosophies and practices of religious appropriation that pilfer from Spiritual Tradition X and then twist and pervert the plundered goodies until they can be jammed will-he nill-he into Spiritual Tradition Y. Integrity and respect really do matter and must be applied equally to all faiths, even those pesky Abrahamic ones. All I can say to Mr. Webster is that he really should know better.
I have several books that I am currently reading so I put one book down and pick up another to read.
I am still reading the book. Though, I find many things interesting it gave me more of a sense of who Archangel Uriel is and how one can align oneself with him/her. R Webster gives tips, exercises of different things you can do or meditate along with names of crystals.
I read this years ago and have no idea what year it was. Somehow it ended up on my abandoned shelf. As far as I know he's the only person who has written such a book about Uriel. I think some other people are scared to do so because Christians decanonized Uriel multiple times. I loved (for so many reasons) that this book existed.
I rated this as 1 out of 5 because there are no minus rating options. This book was completely disappointing. Luckily I picked it up for only $12 or I'd be a bit angry. Gives no real information as to angels or Uriel; nothing that one can't already find themselves through a simple google search.
This book is nothing more than a basic pagan or Wicca 101 book (with less information though) and has just been adapted to add in the name of an angel. There really isn't even any proper angelic workings in it; only basic pagan ritual format with Uriel's name added in. It contains very, very basic (entry level occultism) information on chakras, crystals and what planet rules over which day of the week. There are about a million other books which provide such simplistic information.
Ironically, Uriel is often depicted with a scroll or book and enjoys the deepest, most profound insights into human psychological and spiritual affairs. Uriel is known for having provided the Hebrews with the Kabbalah and assisting humans attain spiritual enlightenment. Enlightenment is not something to be found in this book.
I got this book really hoping that it would have some decent material in it about the Archangel Uriel, but what I found was that it was loaded with junk. There is nearly no references to the book which is definitely a let down so there is no evidence trail to follow. He mixes new age ideas into the system he creates which definitely does it more harm than good. He even at one point mentions that you can call upon the goddesses as well as the archangels in your circle, HUH?!? what the heck is that about??? I give two stars for effort and laughs but if this is an example of the other three books on the other archangels I will save my money and definitely not buy them!!
Finally found this book and other in series in English. Unfortunately there is very little information on Uriel, if you need to know more about him do try actual sources. This book sounds more like Pagan guide to calling upon Uriel. Only reason I gave 3 is because it was not what I was looking for.
