This enlarged version published in 2003 touches on the main scams which were investigated by the CBI when Mr. Joginder Singh was its Director for a brief period of 11 month during 1996-97. It is worth mentioning that in 'fodder scam', in which investigation started during that period, the guilty have been sentenced in only last week. Though many scams have followed in the succeeding years, the points raised in the book are relevant today. The constraints under which CBI was(or is) working and also the workload thrust upon CBI due to judicial activism have been dealt with by the author. The author is scathing in his comments about our politicians, bureaucrats and our venerable 4th Estate media. The book being the first by a CBI Director has definitely its value as an inside documentary account of the working of a premier investigative agency.
