Very interesting. I heard stories of German prisoners working in the Shawnee, OK area when my mother was attending high school. I was always curious about them and others in the state. This prompted me to visit the site in Tonkawa and El Reno.

Very interesting perspective looking inside a WWII prisoner of war camp in of all places Oklahoma. All that is left of this ghost encampment is a water tower. It is embarrassing to admit I grew up within just a few miles of this very tragic, sad yet awesome historic place & though I have driven by it many times I had no idea it existed. I came across this book totally by accident & am truly glad I did.
