Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
'War Zone' was aptly named. The whole book is nothing but war. But man is it one hell of a war. I was on the edge of my seat quite a few times. I knew Tanner was a bad-ass, but he has sure stepped it up. You don't mess with someone's family. So many people have to learn the hard way. Full of action, great fight scenes, some very interesting characters and a lot of thrills. Definitely a must read. Recommended.
It never turns out well when family shows up before calling. Tanner meets another side of his family and boy are they crazy! The writer gives is the business and it is like no other. The story gives us a somewhat realistic look,we lose some we love and bite our teeth at the near misses. This was just god storytelling, with a plot that is developed and the characters are totally fleshed out. Another stellar addition to a spectacular series.
Tanner find himself in the midst of war while visiting New York to see Joe Pullo. But Tanner has a family now and he has to protect his family. Turner finds that he has other relatives with the intense of his eyes. And they too share the genetic code for assassination. This war of New York is the most damaging of all time. Tanner becomes strong and as a member of his own family from France turns out to be Tanner’s largest challenges to deal with.
If you've read a Tanner book by Remington Kane and wasn't completely and utterly hooked there is something Seriously wrong with your wiring. It's just as simple as that.
The Gloves Come Off Following Book 26’s ending, we knew the fight had just begun. Tanner’s European relatives are not good guests as his cousin Victor continues with his quest to take over NYC’s underworld activities. When Victor’s approach is directed at innocents, Tanner takes offense: and with Tanner on the offensive, no one is safe. Crooked cops, strange alliances, and non-stop action add to the excitement. Already looking forward to the next installment!
Not going to give anything away Tanner comes up with ingenious ways to defeat his and Joe's enemy well thought out and never a dull moment Mr Kane as always writes a brill story never tire of these books and not kept waiting long characters are great .Love the beginning With the i write for you !!adds to a personal connection with Mr Kane's readers
Typical Tanner story. Tanner has a problem, Tanner attacks problem, Tanner removes problem. In this case, Tanner and Joe Pullo hav the problem. Problem resolved. Lots of action, straight forward plot, not much character development other then the main characters. But we’re not looking for that. Just a good thriller, which is what we get. Recommended
Another great Tanner book. I always seem to read each book in less than a day. I’m so looking forward to Tanner’s next adventure. Hoping that we soon see who he picks to train as the next Tanner. This could add some yummy plots to a wonderful book series.
Remington Kane just keeps the story line regarding Tanner better and better with each new novel. The stories are always page turners and never gets boring. Can't wait for the next one!
As always, great story, action, characters and relationships. This is the best series I follow. Just wish Remington could write them faster....oh well, it is what it is, I’m not going anywhere.
These books are not complicated, or a literary masterpiece what they are is good entertainment with a good story. If you have not read the series you will not be disappointed. Plus there is no sacrifice both the good guy and bad guy wins.
I am still having a hard time with the Mafia being treated as the good guys. I grew up around them and they are not nice regardless of how much they pay off the Church to look the other way.
