I grip the bar and dig my fingertips into the wood as I stare at my reflection behind the wall of mirrors partially covered by glass. I look like hell. My eyes are wild, my cheeks rosy. And my hair. Jesus. The chin-length strands are a tangled mess that would probably seem trendy if I had a speck of makeup on to help me appear slightly respectable.
I’m the living, breathing definition of what Cole has made me—distraught.
Tormented.
I really should go.
“I’m told you need a stool.”
The briefest snippet of a horror re-run brushes my ears. That voice. The provoking lilt. The arrogant tone.
I remain still despite the threat at my back and the mass of wasps swarming in my stomach.
“Where is he?” I whisper.
“Where is who?” Cole drawls.
I close my eyes, succumbing to the comfort of darkness for a few seconds before I turn to face the picture of arrogance standing right before me in his perfect suit.
“I would’ve thought you were far too proud to play dumb, Mr. Torian.” My voice climbs, letting those in the vicinity hear our conversation. “Is he here? Do you have him hiding out back?”
He inches closer, leaning into me so we’re almost chest to chest. His cologne regains its hold in the air around me, the woodsy scent settling into my lungs. “As much as you seem to be enjoying yourself at my bar, why don’t you follow me and take a look for yourself? We can talk in private. Just the two of us.”
The words are intimate. Almost like a lover’s promise.
“Just you and me?” I mimic his sultry tone, refusing to retreat even though he’s deliberately smothering my personal space. “Without witnesses or anyone to hold you accountable for what you might try to do to me?”
He chuckles, the warmth of his breath brushing my cheek, triggering an ambush of goose bumps to skitter across the back of my neck. “A woman like you wouldn’t be able to fathom the type of things I want to do.”
He’s toying with me again. Playing the master manipulator. Attempting to inspire fear.
“I’m not scared of you.”
“No.” He inclines his head in agreement, his mouth kicking at one side. “I’m well aware you shiver for different reasons.”
The following ratings are out of 5: Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Romance: 💚🖤💙 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙 World building: 🌏🌍🌎 Character development: 😚🙂😁
The heroine:Anissa Fox - she is an FBI agent and I didn’t like the fact that she was shown as a bad cop in Decker’s book. She threatened Decker when he wanted to stop working with her and she set up Hunter and Sarah to look like they were traitors to the mafia, which would have resulted in their deaths if she would have went through with it.
The Hero:Cole Torian - a mafia kingpin. He has been running things for his family since his father got some heat from the Feds and moved to the Greek Islands. Torian was going to enact a plan to kill his father when he returned for his uncle’s funeral. He was going to do this because his father became involved in human trafficking. However, at the funeral, the Feds closed in and arrested his father.
The Story: Torian knows that his father will be released or escape prison and go into hiding, so he wanted to take care of him alone. However, now that his father is in custody, Torian’s plans will have to change. Meanwhile Torian has taken it upon himself to follow Anissa. He is intrigued by the beautiful FBI agent who dresses in men’s clothing and seems harsh and unyielding.
The book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. The narration was done by Laura Jennings and D.C. Cole. I really liked Laura’s voice it was soft and feminine with strength behind it, which worked for Anissa. D.C. Cole has a nice voice and speaks with an even tempo. Though I would have liked a narrator with a deep, gravelly voice for Torian.
I liked the storyline in this one about Torian’s father and the sex trafficking. However, I just couldn’t connect with either of these characters. Anissa, because I just didn’t like her. She was too focused on her job and was unable to see reason, she was basically suspended and kept following Torian. She also kept thinking he was part of the sex trafficking operation even though her office had given up on him as a suspect. I liked Torian, but never connected with him because the majority of the book was told in Anissa’s point of view.
Two things I would like to note really fast: 1) This cover is freaking HOT!! 2) The blurb absolutely drew me in for this book.
I signed up to read an ARC for this book and was able to read the first 2 in the series as well and I am am so freaking glad that I was able to because these men and books are freaking delicious and absolutely great reads.
Torian is a HUGE Enemies to Lovers Romance. We have the FBI agent Anissa Fox (which we know is a ball buster from Decker's story) and Cole Torian the head of the Torian family that has their toes dipped in to some unsavory places. Anissa is out to prove that Cole and his family deserve to be in prison and locked up for what they have done. But as Anissa spends more time with Cole does she start understanding more and more about this elusive man and maybe rationalize his ways?
If you like men that are on the other side of the law but have their own moral code and believe in right and wrong, you are freaking going to love Cole Torian. He is definitely my current book boyfriend and I love everything about this alpha, loyal man. There is definitely heat and fireworks (in more ways than one) in this book and I think it was a absolutely excellent and highly recommend it to everyone!
5 outta 5 stars FO SHO!
PS: I did receive this book as an ARC, but I am voluntarily and honestly reviewing it!
Interesting. Very interesting indeed. Do I like it? Yes I do. I like how Miss Summers putting an effort into the heated push and pull between Cole and Annisa. These two can combust together.
In Torian, Miss Cole building sexual attraction from the emotion. Yes there is physical attraction but the emotion attraction is more sexy. Both Cole and Annisa are smart and head strong maintaining their opposite moral point of view.
I knew torian would be good, the snips of him in hunter and Decker had me intreaged by his presence.
He's harsh and aggressive and that's on a good day, filled with Love and lust and fire getting what he wants comes easily to him, feelings are not something that comes into your mind when you think about torian he doesnt have time for it but Damn I have all the feels after reading this.
Anissa- I hated her at the beginning but the further along to story got the more I warmed up to her, in the end I loved her strong and fisty self.
The gut wrenching pain followed by an overflow of love made my head spin, the twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat throughout.
I knew this man would ruin me, he did, he's the best one yet.
I throughly enjoyed this book about Annisa Fox a FBI agent who appears to believe that the world is black and white and Cole Torian the son to one of the largest mafia family, Cole who is the current head of the Torian family as his father is currently in hiding for his crimes to evade conviction. Cole is dark dangerous captivating sexy man, and has an ego and reputation for his brutal strength and protection of his family above all else.
When Cole takes things too far as all hell breaks loose in his father's business. A business of human trafficking that has Cole disgusted about. The "little fox" as Cole likes to call and torment Annisa battles with their sexual chemistry, and emotions develop in a way that neither can explain or resist.
What starts out as a sick twisted game to torment quickly spirals out of control. The storyline was gripping never quite knowing what was going to happen next. I can't wait for their story to continue. Hot sexy enemies frustrated, not quite sure who will win in the battle of emotions that threatens to destroy them both. A stubborn power struggle A must read.
After Deckers book i was so excited for Coke’s book to be next and i was not disappointed at all, there was so much to this book i just didn’t want to put it down.
Cole was a bit of an enigma and when we really get to know him in this book you can see that he sees himself as a bad guy and doesn’t deserve good things but once you get towards the end of the book you can see that he is not that bad and he is too hard on himself. His story was so interesting and the fact that his father is not a nice man and he wants to protect his family just shows what kind of character he really was.
Anissa she was a firecracker, she was stubborn but again she’s not who she thinks she at the start. Her story is totally different being that she is a FBI agent but by the end you see that’s she last not as hard hearted as you think.
The reason why i loved this book so much was it had everything in it, great chemistry between Anissa and Cole, it had angst, kidnapping, violence, stalking, an amazing storyline, it just had everything and the fact that there is going to be more just makes it all that more exciting.
I also loved all the other characters as well, Luca is awesome, i was glad to read the previous characters as well especially Hunter he makes me laugh and then the discovery of Tobias and another character pop up has me itching for more.
Another awesome novel by Eden Summers her writing in this book was perfect and really engaging bring on the next book.
Well wow!!! What an amazing turn of events we uncover in this newest work by Eden Summers. This series of books just keeps getting better and better.
Torian sees us carry on from the explosive ending given to us at the end of Decker, and suffice it to say, the relationship that ignites between Torian and Anissa, an FBI agent, is a humdinger!!! The tension and dynamic between this couple is glaringly apparent from the outset of their very first meeting.
Torian and Anissa, for all intents and purposes, should not work as a couple…they are polar opposites…. or are they??? It is the proverbial Good vs Evil…Right vs Wrong… Law vs Criminal. However, this relationship is not just a simple antagonistic love/hate union…it encompasses the dichotomy that presents itself when two people from extremely contrasting beliefs and lifestyles find their feelings towards each other cannot be ignored or chained. Eden was very clever to put Torian in a similar position romantically as his nemesis Decker and his sister Keira. Torian & Anissa face their own personal dilemmas when deciding on going forward with a relationship and we are kept on our toes until the very end to find out what that decision will be. Within the confines of a forbidden romance, we are given a very powerful, intense and emotionally charged story. It also sparks a personal moral debate which I thought was cleverly provocative and actually quite realistic.
Along with the action, Ms Summers intersperses the dramatic with splashes of humour that delightfully breaks the intenseness of the storyline. Her ability to add light & shade to her stories gives her novels a well-balanced and sophisticated feel.
This story is a well-crafted piece of magic. It is intriguing, addictively entertaining and will have you glued to the pages until you finish. I have really loved the previous two books in this series and Torian is no different…it is very close to taking top honours. A must read!!!
From the snippets of Torian I have seen in Hunter and Decker, I knew that Cole Torian's story was going to be an intriguing one.
I wasn't sure where this story was going to take us, and I was pleasantly surprised with what was happening (though, with what is happening, I don't think pleasantly is the right word to be using).
Torian and Anissa's story is gritty and full of twists and turns. I wasn't a big fan of Anissa at first - I can't put my finger on exactly what it was, but she did not endear herself to me. However, as the story progressed I warmed up to her a lot more, and by the end of the book I did like her.
Cole - now, I am pretty sure we are supposed to have a love/hate relationship with him, however I didn't go much on the hate side lol. Things he does are not always the best, however as a person I liked him from the get go. He gets under your skin - and I for one did not want him to get out.
This story had my heart hurting, followed by smiling, with a bit of gut wrenching in between. I just never knew what emotion I would be feeling from chapter to chapter.
It was great to see Hunt and Decker and their ladies for bits and pieces, and it made me realise how much I needed more of them.
A day later and I am still all "what the hell Summers!" after that ending, and I do hope it means we will get more in the future.
Pretty please with a cherry on top? I will send vodka!
Where to start??? Firstly, if I could give it six stars, I would! Torian is a twisty, achey, deliciously dark book that I could not put down. The characters are so real that at times I hurt along with them. Torian is not a hearts and flowers guy and if that’s what you want from a book then step away now because this man is the devil in disguise and he means business. He plays mind games like a pro, stalks, tricks, deceives and makes it damn difficult to trust him. But at the same time, you’re begging for him to make that connection, to stop the game and just be. And Anissa is a bad ass- she stands toe to toe with this man and holds her own but it’s fascinating watching her development. From ice queen to a woman who’d do unspeakable things for her man. Torian and Niss are perfect for each other and I desperately want to read more of them. Go dark, you know you want to 😉
I was pulled right into this story. The story has suspense, running, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Hunter by Eden Summers Decker (Hunting Her)
This is Anissa and Torian’s story. Torian puts a plan in motion to take down his father but he needs Anissa’s help. But can he get her no only to help but to cooperate with him? Will he be able to keep her safe? These two have a long road ahead as they struggle through learning to trust and see throughout the lies and deceit. Get ready for an edge of your seat suspenseful ride.
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Torian is a clever mix of light and dark, back and forth, angst and love. I must admit I was not a fan of either main character at first. The more I read the more I realized that my feelings of friction and tension as I turned the pages actually mimicked the chemistry and tug of war between Torian and Anissa. Torian is intense...dark, and focused, and fierce, and dangerous...brutally strong and confident and at the same time, fighting to accomplish his agenda. Anissa sees only the surface of Torian at first and only what he wants her to see. She is so rigid, seeing life as very black and white, while Torian is very much aware of the murkiness in between those two extremes. She does reveal herself as a strong and fiery woman to match Torian's intensity. It was worth struggling through the tug of war to see Torian's good heart and to get to the unexpected place for our couple at the end. I loved it. It was so worth the wait. I had been really intrigued by Torian in Decker, and I was really surprised and pleased with the twisty path Torian took to get to the finish line.
I have to say Eden does not disappoint! She has continued to blow me away with this series! Torian is a tough one to warm up to and Anissa I down right hated... at first. These two people are from different worlds so how can they even stand being in the same room? That’s definitely not an easy thing for these two! All I can say is this is a must read and it definitely leaves me wanting a lot more from all of these characters so Eden PLEASE write MORE books to add to this series!
This was much better than the first book but I thought it was a standalone. Everything is resolved at the end except for Anissa and Torian’s relationship which will continue later on in the series. I would have liked it more if this was a standalone.
The characters were likable and the storyline was more interesting than the first book.
An issue that I had with both books is that it was hard to see a connection between the H and the h. I did see it at times but mostly it wasn’t there for me.
I did end up really enjoying it though and I liked the characters.
💣💥💣💥 Oh holy hell. High octane passion and criminality! 💣💥💣💥
At the end of Decker, I wondered who could possibly be a match for the psychotic Torian, and when I read the blurb, I was rapt, because Agent Anissa Fox is the perfect ball-breaking adversary and romantic partner for him.
Nothing about their story runs smoothly though, because Torian had plans to badly mess with Anissa’s head, only she ended up getting under his skin.
She’s gritty, abrasive and Torian thinks she’s as sexy as hell. And, she’s every bit as passionate about bring down a monster as Torian is. The big difference is, they are on opposite sides of the law. Their moral compasses are at loggerheads, and their passion is as equal and opposite as anyone can get. It’s explosive.
Torian is a bad man who is doing good things. I struggle with the romanticism of this ilk of criminal, but is he honourable? Oh, he absolutely is, in his own way. He is the complete package. A gorgeous and sexy GQ-esque of a man whose continuous introspection and questioning of his own motives and judgement made him one of the most complicated male characters I’ve read for some time. He owns his criminal livelihood, but his line in the sand has been forged through family violence, betrayal and heartache. Of his devastating realisation that his father is one of the worst kind of disgusting animals in existence. Anissa couldn’t judge him for what he wanted to do, any worse than he judged himself.
She is such a tough cookie and perfectly isolated from all who should have been her peers. To all intents, she has no family. The betrayal of her father, a highly admired FBI agent himself, has seen her painted with the same brush, so add to that their dismal treatment of women in the Bureau, it is easy to see that she would not only take help from any quarter, in bringing down a deviant kingpin to prove her fellow agents wrong, but also find it hard to resist the sexual tension between them.
While their ultimate goals and bodies aligned, their ingrained methods of carrying out their plans were total polar opposites. I questioned whether they could ever be together without one of them dropping their own core beliefs and changing sides.
I am absolutely excited about this series, but I could happily have murdered Eden Summers with her ending. I mean, where the hell was her head at when she left us with that? The HFN almost killed me! But, I will just as quickly admit that they have too many issues to resolve to be able to pull a happy ending out of thin air. Ms Summers has done right by her characters. They need more battle time, and more pages to sort their story, and I can’t wait to be there.
5 Stars and a recommendation that if you love deep and twisted romances with a heavy hand of chemistry and passion, then you’d best get your backsides into reading these books.
Whew- what a twisty ride that was. Good and 'bad' meet and combine forces. Sit back and watch the sparks fly! Great read, kept me guessing and entertained. Recommend!
I recieved an arc of Torian from the author for an honest review and I absolutely love Cole Torian. He was in two previous books and there was something about him that made me want to know more. Eden doesn't disappoint with Torian. I still can not properly express myself after reading this book. All I can say is wow, I need nore.
Cole Torian is absolutely everything you would except him to be: ruthless, determined, calculating and compelling. Nissa is a strong, independent in control woman who is determined to put Cole behind bars. These two couldn't be anymore different but immediately you can feel the tension and attraction between them.
I have been itching for Torian’s story since I first read Hunter and this book did not disappoint! A bit forbidden, enemies to lovers story with scorching hot chemistry and a storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat! I loved the dialogue and the way I wasn’t quite sure what would happen next! A must read!
This is a fast-paced romantic suspense that will keep you on your toes! Just think about it - an opposites-attract, romance between a crime lord and FBI agent hell bent on putting him in jail - what is not to like? My curiosity about Cole Torian was first sparked when I read Hunter’s and Decker’s stories and I am thrilled that this crime lord got his own book. Cole is the type of mafia anti-hero that I love - he is highly intelligent, sexy, calculating, and yet is fiercely protective towards those that he loves. I liked him right from he start. The heroine, Anissa Fox, I had trouble connecting with in the beginning. She is a well developed character and I liked her tenacity, but I struggled to warm up to her until about halfway through the book. This book is full of intrigue, action, and twists and turns. Just when I would think I knew what was coming, the author would throw me for a loop. I do believe that Torian could be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading Hunter and Decker first as there is an interweaving storyline and some character overlap. If you like a good opposites attract romance or a romantic suspense, then you will enjoy this book
So completely different in tone than the previous two in the series, this one I think is best described as being akin to a coiled spring throughout.
The two protagonists are constantly bouncing off each other, and even though the nature of their relationship changes, that friction is an essential part of the way that they interact. And though it adds a layer of frustration to the overall story, it plays into the multi faceted storyline that plays out on the pages.
But that ending? All I know is that I need more.
OK, OK. More, please. And thank you.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I thought I was in love with Hunter and Decker, but Torian blew it out of the park. Torian and Anissa's relationship is confusing, addicting, and I can't wait to see where they go from here! It's interesting to see Torian break so easily for her, even when they're complete opposites. This story had me hypnotized from the beginning. Eden has done it again!
What a waste of time reading! Anissa, couldn’t stand her and the ending or rather lack of ending! I am so mad, it wasn’t either a HEA or even a HFN ending..... very very disappointed!

Eden Summers' Hunting Her series has produced two superbly written books so far in Hunter and Decker. TORIAN, the third standalone, is nothing short of brilliant and i believe Eden's best work ever. Intriguing, dark, mysterious, suspenseful, this story has it all. If you want to read an enemies to lovers story that will enthral you from the outset, Torian is the one to read.
Two people from opposite ends of the spectrum are brought together, albeit under extreme circumstances. Firstly, we have Cole Torian, son of the Mafia and head of the Torian family, due to his father's untimely disappearance. Secondly, is Annisa Fox, FBI agent, a woman determined to prove that Cole is mixed up in his father's illegal operations.
Torian is the alpha of all alphas, he's dark, mysterious, hard-headed, aggressive, driven by the love for his family and the lust for a woman he should not want. This was a man I probably should have hated ... but it just wasn't possible, such was the brilliance of his character. Annisa, "little fox", was a hard character to like at first, she seemed to be very one dimensional, however as the story continued, I grew to like her more and more. She was strong and feisty, and knew how to stand her ground when it came to Torian.
This story was an absolute pleasure to read, with twists and turns that really made me rethink my ideas on numerous occasions. The tension that exists between Torian and Annisa is one that makes it even more captivating. It is definitely one of Eden's best so far. And that ending ... i can only hope that there is more of these two to come in the future.
Torian Release Date: May 25, 2019 Review Copy Provided by the Author
Eden Summers is an auto buy for me. I fell in love with her writing a few years ago when I read her Reckless Beat series. If you haven’t read those, do it now! They are amaze balls! I was so excited when she announced that she was writing some new books that were a little different for her. They’re a bit grittier and raw. But make no mistake, they are still fucking delicious!
Torian sits on the other side of the law. He has his own set of rules and moral code that he follows. Anissa is a take no bullshit FBI agent. This is a true enemies to lovers story. But who doesn’t like some hot angry sex?
I was intrigued with Torian when he stepped onto the page in Hunter’s book. I knew he was going to make me question whether or not I could fall for a hero who was more of an anti hero. I fell. I fell damn hard for him.
Anissa and Torian shouldn’t work as a couple. They are on opposite sides of the law. But holy hell, they had wicked chemistry. As Anissa begins to “see” and understand Torian, things really heat up. Wowza! Eden writes smokin’ hot steamy times!
This book has a great balance of suspense and romance, with romance being the central focus. This was a very character driven plot, which I absolutely love! And as always with an Eden Summers novel, the writing was nothing short of brilliant. I was pulled into this story from the opening scene at a funeral. You really get a good idea of some of Torian’s internal conflicts in those first few pages.
This book could be read as a stand alone, but you’d definitely get better feel for some of the secondary characters if you started with Hunter’s book, which is aptly named, Hunter!
This is the third book in the Series. You can read it as a standalone, but believe me, you don't want to miss the entire Series. This is a great Romantic Suspense and enemies to lovers. I love Eden Summers's writing. Cole and Anissa's story is breathtaking, fast-paced, twisted, and suspenseful. I love these two extremely opposite characters: Anissa, an FBI agent and Cole, the head of the Torian Family. They share a slow burn, but strong and sizzling chemistry. Now, I want more about them, and I can't wait for the next book in this amazing and captivating Series. I enjoyed my reading.
Eden Summers knows how to create beyond the average alpha male. Torian definitely fits the bill for ultimate alpha male. Although TORIAN, the novel, might not be one of my top Eden written favs, Torian, the man, he is the epitome of my perfect alpha. Unlike any other Eden Summers novel I've read before, I wasn't immediately taken in by the story. It took a few chapters to grab me but grab me, it did!! Great read and so excited to see what's next in this underground world of dangerous, but oh so hot, alpha men.
