Tabloid Princess #2

Scandal Queen

Rate this book
I never meant to fall for a prince… now nothing can be the same again.

It wasn’t meant to be this way… My life with my daughter was safe and protected; perfectly controlled.

Then he came and smashed everything I knew, everything I thought I knew, into pieces.
He broke my heart with his lies and deception, but now he’s under my skin and I can’t go back to the life I once had. All roads lead to him, the king of my heart, the man I would change everything for.

But with royalty comes obligation and expectation. Everyone wants a piece of him.

Inside the palace walls, he swears to keep us safe, yet I know the promise isn’t his to make.
Can he be the person his country needs while also loving us? Can I be the woman who stands proud by his side, or will I always be the daughter of a drug addict who has no place in the higher realms of society?

He says we can make it work, that we can fight tradition and give his people something new.
I wonder what price we will pay to be free to live our dream.

A heart-stopping Rags to Riches tale.

Can you love me if I'm only a man, with just his heart to give?

If you didn't fell in love with Oliver, Leia and Daisy, you'll definitely will loose your heart to these three by the end of Scandal Queen. This second book in the Tabloid Princess duet is a wonderful conclusion that will capture your heart without doubt. The modern fairy tale vibe is still strong in this one but mixed with real life struggles to adjust.

Oliver is still one of the most adorable guys ever written, Leia shows her strong-willed fighting spirit and Daisy, well this little adorable princess goes up and beyond.

Scandal Queen is entertaining and heartbreakingly beautiful.

Everything about us is a moment, Ollie. Everything.

I loved Tabloid Princess. (Book One in the series)... LOVED LOVED LOVED.
So when I started this and realized it was picking up where book one left off, I was over the moon. I adore Prince Oliver and Leia... I have from the beginning. They have held a place in my heart since the moment the author introduced her readers to them. This book was so much more than what I thought it ever would be. I was blindsided and didn't realize how much this would take hold of my heartstrings and tug at them. My emotions were all over the place...

This is the conclusion to Leia and Oliver's story and what a conclusion it was. These two started off rocky...They were anything but perfect but Oliver didn't give up when it came to Leia... Wanted to prove to her he was the right man for her. He was a charmer and an all-round perfect hero in both book one and two and he has won Leia over but this love story is anything other than a fairytale. Everything and anything that could get in the way of these two finally getting their happily ever after... It did.

These two were perfect together and just as their own person. Both loving and would do anything to help others. They truly are two people that want to do go in this world and have hearts of gold, but Oliver is in like for the throne, and not everything in the royal is perfect. Some of the things that were expected of him are not things that are him or in his nature.

I went into this book knowing it would be amazing. It was a given, what I did not anticipate was the depth and the raw emotions that came along with this couple and their journey to a happily ever after. Anna is known for her angst, her emotional plot twists that have often left me breathless and in shock and awe and this beauty was no different.

This book tackles some difficult subjects,... some difficult for me too... But I honestly think the author tackled them with skill and grace, which made this story even more enjoyable and made me fall in love with the plot and the characters and had me hanging on every word. I wish I could go into detail but there would be no fun in that. Just know that this author brings you all the feels and this story along with her others will take over your body, mind, and soul.

I cannot recommend this duet enough.

It's a must-read and a prime example of why Anna Bloom is a top favorite author of mine

I got to read an early copy of this book and I cannot stress how lucky I feel. I loved Tabloid Princess and couldn't imagine Anna Bloom being able to top the beautiful writing and perfect story of the first book, but I certainly underestimated her. Anna's prose is perfect, her dialogue sharp and interesting and her plot line enthralling, making this a sequel which improves on the first book, something I didn't think possible. Scandal Queen is written with such care and attention to the characters and their lives that you can't help but feel as though they're real. Leia is a woman who has a myriad of fears but ultimately shows strength for the man that she loves and I adored how she grew with each chapter. As for Prince Oliver, he has to be one of my favourite male characters ever and that isn't something I say lightly. He is everything you want in a hero but more importantly everything that Leia's character deserves. Anna could have written the stereotypical male lead but she developed a complex man who showed vulnerability and more importantly strength without being alpha male and using a profanity every other word. The rest of the cast of characters were equally as strong and were written so well, I truly felt as though history was being written. Then, at the end of it all, came the epilogue which gave us just enough of an insight to leave us begging for more. In short, I loved this book and the only word that slipped from my lips as I read the end was 'perfect'.

This is a modern Fairey tale about a royal family that reminds us of the English royal family but so much better than the real one
About a prince falling in love with a common
About a struggling single mom meeting the crown prince falling in love with her and about a handsome prince wanting to leave his image and really make a difference
It also touches with subjects as drug addiction, class distinctions and monarchy being transformed to be relevant to the people and making a change

I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed reading this duet
No – it is not free of clichés and no – it is not very realistic but it is a lot of fun and much better than what we see in the monarchy of Britain in real life

This wonderful book has warmed my heart. Beautifully written, it was an addictive page-turner from the start, I adored it!

I have to admit I've not particularly been a fan of royalty based romances. I've read a few and they've tended to be in fictional countries and very far fetched.
I discovered Anna's books a year ago and she quickly became a one-click favourite, so I wanted to read this and I'm so happy I did, Anna Bloom has absolutely altered my opinion!

This duet is set in England based around the British Royal family and heir to the throne (all be it an alternative reality) and a kind-hearted, young single mother of the most adorable six year old girl, who grew up on a council estate but just wants to help people. The way it is written however means there weren't any aspects that weren't completely believable. The places exist, the characters, their secrets, actions, feelings, opinions and reactions could be and feel so real, I wouldn't be surprised if I opened a newspaper to see Prince Oliver and Leia on the front pages. This I think is what made this story a big step up from others in this genre and made me believe their love could really work.

I've gone though every emotion reading this fantastic follow up to Tabloid Princess - I've smiled, laughed, been angry, shocked, surprised and hurt, felt their anguish and I've certainly cried at this heartfelt, heartbreaking and heartwarming story. Yes, it has a lot of heart! I've swooned at Ollie and Leia's fairytale romance and got a bit hot under the collar at their sexy hot chemistry.

In summary, Scandal Queen has a beautiful depth with both characters and storyline, it's what I've come to expect and love from an Anna Bloom book. You must read Tabloid Princess first as this continues straight on from it. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it, I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you give it a try.

This is the follow-up to Tabloid Princess and picks up where the first one ended. I don't think it could've been any more perfect! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I laughed, swooned and had tears in my eyes. So many emotions went through me and I couldn't love Oliver and Leia more than I did in this book. I just didn't want the story to end! The story also kinda reminded me of Prince Harry and Meghan, how their love unfolded before everyone's eyes although Oliver and Leia's journey has been different. A definite favorite of mine for 2019 and a must read!

Leia has been through so much the last few years but seems to have found love in a way she never thought would have happened, to be in love with a Prince that is destined to become King. When they parted ways, her heart was left broken in pieces and she doesn't know what to do. Her daughter's best interest is still her number one priority but she can't help the way she still feels for Oliver. Days go by and Oliver stands before her again to try and make amends. Even though they try their hardest to get everyone to see that the love they have for one another is real, it's not easy when the whole world is watching your every move. When everything seems to be falling apart around them and tragedy happens, both will have to make a decision about their future... Will they be able to have their happy ending and maybe win the public over in the process?...

What a journey these two characters have been on and what a heartwarming modern-day fairytale with real-life situations.

I adored Leia and Prince Oliver's journey. Two people from different but very same worlds, both wanting the same things but hit obstacle after obstacle in their journey together, in their lifestyles, in their vision of where they want to be, in their ideals, with the driving force of their newfound love for one another moving them forward.

Making history, changing history.

Scandal Queen picks up straight from where Tabloid Princess ends.

There's regret, heartache, disappointments, drama, opposition with an overload of Princely charm and swoon in this British fairytale modern-day drama.

The stunning conclusion to the Tabloid Princess, which stole my heart and took my breath away, a royal romance read that had me literally begging for more, beautifully written, poignant, emotional, a wonderfully engaging plot line that deals with some difficult issues and characters that you can't help but fall in love with.

I loved the way Prince Oliver is portrayed, brought up living and breathing to be one thing, but never being able to truly be himself until he met Leia. I loved how he fought for Leia tooth and nail, how he showed his emotions and vulnerabilities, and how he was determined to live a life he wanted not how he was taught to be.

Leia was such a strong mum for her daughter, basing her whole life around her, not wanting the life that she had to go through with her own mum. Her kindness, humility, thoughtfulness and honesty made her a wonderful heroine, just what Prince Oliver needed in his life, and he turned out to be everything Leia so richly deserved.

I loved how real the story felt, how I could picture being in the royal apartments or in the gardens, so beautifully descriptive. Oliver and Leia were soo good together, they were the perfect fit, but nothing was easy for them, they really had to work for it, anything that could go wrong for them did, before it got better. I loved the view you got of the royal family, on their take of things, how they had been brought up to hide things from view and never really face reality or consequences, which in this story turned out to be absolutely heartbreaking.

Emotionally this delivers quite a punch, you go through a whole range of emotions with and for the royal pair, empathising what they were going through and rooting for them, hoping beyond hope they would get their happy ending.

This is THE royal romance read for me, it's set the bar really high for other royal reads to follow, none of which come close currently. I cannot recommended this to you highly enough, one of my tops reads for this year, this duet has been just fabulous.

Oh my gosh, I’m in pure book heaven. Seriously, you all know by now how much I loved Tabloid Princess where we get to meet Prince Oliver, the dashingly gorgeous heir to the throne & the girl who opened up his heart, the beautifully funny Leia. This couple became my new obsession & I couldn’t wait to see what their book would bring in their epic love story.

Man oh man did AB deliver all the emotions in this beauty & them some. The character development was exceptional, seeing not just the dynamics of Ollie, Leia & Daisy, but also how the friends & family on both sides of line that once divided them, came together in all their ugly & beautiful glory.

The story was just divine. It pulled on my already tender heartstrings something fierce. I laughed, cried & smiled my way throughout their incredible journey. It was rags to riches at its best, bringing real life topics to the table, showing how important kindness & compassion truly are the pillars of a life worth living, even when it’s tough, when it hurts, when it feels impossible, No one ever said doing the right thing was easy & I'm so glad Anna showed us through Ollie & Leia, that staying true to your heart & being the kind of person whose actions speak louder than tabloid words, can shine so stunningly bright.

Amazing, amazing read..

Ahhhhh! I love this story!!

Leia is running away, running away from the one man she has ever loved, to protect her daughter from the media and the world.
She can’t get past all the responsibilities that come along side been with prince Oliver. He will be future king. He tries to convince her she is it for her, she makes him feel alive for the first time in a long time, and he isn’t willing to let her go just yet.
Instead of keeping their relationship a secret they try and keep as much of it private. Which is not easy when all the media want any story they can about leia. She knows people will judge her, her background alone is enough to push most people away.
Everything she knows and loves has to change when she moves in with Prince Oliver. Her daughter has to start a new school. Leia also has to learn how to be a princess worthy of been accepted by the royals and by the rest of the country.
She wants to show everyone that the royals are just like other people, they have their responsibilities but they also do things as a family.
Will the people start to like her? Or will they be pushed apart?

*sigh* I WANT A PRINCE NOW! Every single story I read by anna makes route for the girl on the wrong side of the tracks and makes me fall in love with the guy who is willing to break all the rules for the girl he loves!

Scandal Queen by Anna Bloom picks up where Tabloid Princess ends and I have to admit that when I opened the book up at the first page, I really hoped that I would love the continuation of this incredible story just as much as in the first book…. and I did!

Oliver and Leia each possess a heart larger than the sun, filled to the brim with love. They both want to help others and make a difference in so many ways but since Oliver is heir to the throne, what they wanted to happen and what the monarchy would allow happen was more than often not one and the same. I adore this couple. I loved how Oliver and Leia fought to stay true to themselves, to do what they believed was right. Their incredible personalities had me rooting for them from the word go, and I hoped that those opposing their relationship and ideals would eventually be able to embrace and love the couple, and support them along the way.

I have absolutely loved spending time with Ollie and Leia, and as expected Daisy was often alongside them too. Leia was so young when Daisy was born and I have to say she did an incredible job raising her. In Scandal Queen we spend a lot more time at the palace with King Henry and his family and I absolutely loved this. I felt that all the characters played an important part in making this story outstanding and some of my favourite scenes in the book are within the walls of St Mark’s. I also thought the author brought the story to life with her incredible writing - I could almost believe I was there with them.

I desperately wanted Oliver and Leia to have a fairytale ending to their romance and I knew there would be obstacles in their way, but I hoped that they would find the strength to overcome these obstructions, which included both crown and country. This young couple had two completely different childhoods that neither of them signed up for. They both have had the weight of the world on their shoulders at times, and I am a true believer that good people deserve happiness in their lives.

I’ve been captivated witnessing Oliver and Leia’s journey since the very first chapter in Tabloid Princess - sitting on the edge of my seat at times. I’ve felt every emotion possible over the two books. This is one story that I urge you to read. It is up there alongside my favourite reads of all time. I already know you will fall in love with and enjoy Oliver and Leia’s story, and I’m certain it will also leave you wanting more.

Well done Anna Bloom, you couldn't have written a more perfect conclusion to Tabloid Princess and this duet. You made me laugh and swoon, I honestly couldn't have loved Oliver and Leia more.

I was rooting all the way through for Oliver and Leia to have their Happy ending and you did give it to me even if you did rake my poor heart through the coals to get there. These two had so much to deal with and was hoping they had the strength to get through the obstacles put in front of them.

Anna you may have put tears in my eyes at certain points but you made my heart soar in the end so well done on another phenomenal read.

When Leila ended her relationship with Oliver she thought it was not only the best decision for everyone but the only decision as well. Time and space causes her to reflect on what she has lost and she realizes that she and Oliver are so much stronger together than apart.

Adjusting to life as a royal was not without its challenges. She was not raised in the art of diplomacy like most royals which at times could cause some tension with all the parties involved. There is no denying that they are soul mates but if they are to have their happy ever after compromises must be made as they realize what truly matters is their love for each other.

Scandal Queen continues on from Tabloid Princess so if you haven't read it, that's your first stop on this Royal fairytale.

This book takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, it's easy to read with great characters, and a complete page-turner.

Tabloid Princess book ended with the future not looking too good for the happy couple and things are not easier for them in this book, they have a battle of love to win.

⛔SOME SPOILERS⛔

Being in the limelight all the time, having your whole life scrutinised, by the media and gossips whether it be truth or lies, can't be easy, and because of the old fashioned way the monarchy is run they don't make life easier by showing themselves as stiff-upper lipped, snobby, better than the rest of the mere common folk.
If the monarchy just relaxed a little to show that they really only are regular people at the end of the day, they might just win over the hearts of the country.
The rules need to be changed up a bit and Oliver with the help of Leia Daisy might just be the team to do it.

But with all the truths and lies brushed under the carpet, it can't be mentally healthy, and some of them might be hiding more than others. When these people snap, will they get through unscathed? or will it be too late?

Will Prince Oliver and his two special princesses get a Royal fairytale HEA?

Started Scandal Queen as soon as I finished Tabloid Princess, it starts off where book 1 finishes.

Emotions felt while reading in no particular order..... Worried, swooned, got anxious, smiled lots, angsty, swooned some more, got tearful and more swooning, lots of smiling.

A great conclusion to Leia and Oliver's story, both wonderful characters, both strong and full of love with a caring nature. Little Daisy and Nana make it all that more real.

The romance between Leia and Oliver is heart-warming and you feel the passion through the writing. You do wonder though if they'll ever get a moment when they're not being judged or having a moment ruined by royal life or something from Leia's life being dug up.

I found their story delightful and I loved being absorbed into this royal/fairytale romance. I feel a book hangover coming on, missing Ollie and Leia already!

This was a beautiful conclusion to Oliver and Leia's story. Oliver is still the adorable guy we met in book one and this time we see him go all out for his girls. There was more drama in this one and some heavy subject matter is dealt with too. Leia shows more of that fighting spirit I knew she had to have which gave some funny and some poignant scenes. Daisy is still the wise and adorable little princess who steals everyone's hearts. These two books were well written enjoyable stories and very topical given recent history.

The conclusion to Leia & Oliver’s story left me with tears in my eyes, and a happy & full heart.

Scandal Queen was so much more than an epic love story, between a girl from a council estate and the future king of England. It was emotional, heartbreaking, steamy and full of swoon worthy moments.

Leia & Oliver’s journey to their HEA is not always an easy one, but no one ever said the epic ones were. The British public, and sometimes the Royal Family are a thorn in their story.

Leia is my absolute favourite heroine, she is strong, passionate, sassy & at the same time, a little broken. She fights for the ordinary people who come from nothing, and she also fights for Oliver & the person he wants to be.

Oliver is the most swooniest hero, the way he loves Leia & Daisy is what fairytales are made of. Never letting Leia run away, when things get tough, instead pulling her closer, always trying to be everything she never had growing up as a child.

I’m really going to miss this couple, some books touch you & others stay with you, even when you’ve turned the last page.

For goodness’ sake! Scandal Queen captured my heart right away! Oh dear! I’m in awe. The modern fairy tale vibe is the strongest in the second book of the Tabloid Princess duet. Anna Bloomadded to this modern fairy tale raw elements that make the story of Leia and Oliver real, making them struggle with simply things that enrich their lives. Not only them but also the secondary characters struggle to adjust to their reality.

I adored Prince Oliver and Leia since I read Tabloid Princess. I was over the moon when reading the beginning of their story on how it developed but now that I finished the second book in the duet I’m on Venus. This book was so much more and I loved every second of it. I was very curious on how the plot would develop and to my surprise Anna Bloom delivered a page-turning story that pulls you deep and fast! It pulled the string to my heart and I didn’t know how deep I would fall because my emotions were over the place.

Overall Leia and Oliver's story is powerful and beautiful. Leia was such a strong mum for her daughter. Her kindness, humility, thoughtfulness and honesty made her a wonderful heroine, just what Prince Oliver needed in his life. As for Prince Oliver, he is everything you want in a hero but more importantly everything that Leia's character deserves. I loved how he fought for Leia, how he showed his emotions and vulnerabilities, and how he was determined to live a life he wanted not how he was taught to be.

Scandal Queen has everything I love in a Royal Romance! Leia and Oliver had a rocky start however their journey carry on in a way that make me swoon. They were anything but perfect. Prince Oliver who breaks the stereotype of a Royal is a charmer and he will do anything to prove Leia that he is the right man for her. Everything and anything that could get in the way of these two finally getting their happily ever after...

Scandal Queen, Book 2 of the Tabloid Princess duet, was about 22-year-old Leia Lawrence, a single mother of a six-year-old daughter and the marketing manager for "Bright Futures" charity, and 30-year-old Prince Oliver Beaufort, the future King of England.

This story picked up three days after Book 1 ended. Although Leia had reached out to the Prince at the end of the first story, he had not responded to any of her messages. It was her BFF and the BFF's brother who ended up helping Leia and her daughter to leave London and the hounding of the press behind for the greener pastures of a cottage in Cornwall.

There was more angst and drama in this book than in its predecessor. The push/pull was minimal, but the conflict was very high from all sides. The emotional rollercoaster had more twists and turns than Book 1, and it felt like it was never-ending.

In all honesty, the 30-year-old prince seemed to be quite a bit more immature than Leia, the 22-year-old commoner. He seemed to go about things in more of a lackadaisical attitude than she did. Leia was much more responsible and level-headed when approaching the subject of their relationship with the public. Even when it came to the security for her and her daughter, Daisy, he was more about buying people off than dealing with it immediately.

What I enjoyed the most about the book was that it gave the reader a glimpse into the struggles that a reigning monarchy has in fitting into modern times when they are steeped in centuries of traditions that are hard to break. It almost emulated the struggles the real British monarchy has been dealing with in real life. This story allowed the reader to empathize with both the royal and the commoner side of the coin.

While there were quite a few errors, both grammatical and punctuation, the story still earned a four-star rating this time around. I felt it deserved the higher rating because of how the author incorporated the struggles a country would go through in such a situation as this.

Where to start...

It all started when I excitedly received an ARC copy of this book. I'd read book one and had enjoyed Anna Bloom's style of writing, but as a whole, I'd be left a little perturbed by the book and had rated it only three stars. I really held out a serious amount of hope for book two, and oh boy, did it pay off.
This book was by far, like a million times, better than the first book. I fell in love with both Leia and Oliver all over again. As I neared the last few pages my heart began shattering knowing all to well that it would end shortly. Compared to book one, I felt as if Leia had suddenly developed a backbone. She knew what she wanted and no matter what she would get it. I would be happy to have both her and Oliver at the helm of this country.
Anna Bloom, thank you so much for this fantastic read. This book was so well written and flowed seamlessly from one page to the next.

I'd highly recommend this book.

A thoroughly enjoyable forbidden romance filled with emotional depth and genuine character connection. These are exactly the qualities I’ve come to expect from Anna Bloom, and she delivers every time. While it wasn’t groundbreaking, I appreciated its simplicity and charm. I haven’t read many royalty meets commoner romances, but if they’re all like this, I’m happily on board.

Anna Bloom never fails to make me fall head over heals in love, and Prince Oliver completely owns my heart. The story ended perfectly, but being the greedy reader that I am, I’ll always want more. 5 glorious stars!

Cinderella story for big girls

Girl meets prince and rags to riches all rolled into one fairy tale romance. Set in current time, our fair Princess Leia overcomes the stigma of her past and stomps on the royal traditions all the way to the throne. Engaging read. Enjoy!
