With blood still on my hands, she rushed into my arms. She took me in when the world wanted to cast me out. I am Myles Moretti, heir to the Moretti mafia throne. My ruthlessness knows no bounds, extending even to my father's throat. I'm becoming the one thing I've always feared. But one glimpse of her eyes, and I feel myself being pulled back down. Grounded, comforted, secure. Sofia Luciano stirs deep emotions within me that I believed to be dead. There's a reason the universe has brought her into my life once again. And I mean to keep her this time. Even if it means war.
I have really enjoyed the two books I have read in this series so far, if you are looking for a suspense mafia heartfelt and at times sad story then this is definitely a read that you should pick up.
Myles is the youngest Moretti brother and handling the family business is taking its toll, especially as he always seems to be fighting to keep his head above water with the Council, his reputation as the reckless Moretti brother never really leaves him alone and his attitude of being confrontational and impetuous doesn’t fill anyone will confidence in leading his family, but he is determined to run things his way. But with the Council finally deciding that he is no longer worthy of being part of him and someone deliberately trying to sabotage him at every turn will he survive the aftermath? To complicate his life further his attraction and on and off again relationship with Mafia Princess Sofina Luciano and youngest daughter of the most powerful Don in LA could spell the end of everything he has ever known. Will he mange to survive the threat coming his way and will his feelings for Sofina be the thing that could destroy him?
Sofina Luciano has always been attracted to Myles Moretti and four years ago they embarked on a quick affair only for him to leave suddenly and with no explanations she tried to get over it but her resentment shocks her when she sees him again but it changes to passion. But the danger surrounds them at every corner and a betrayal that neither see coming could endanger not only them but their families too. Will they survive and can they have a life together or will they always be enemies?
Not going to lie I loved this book would highly recommend this series. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this excellent book.
This had spelling and grammar errors, but the story was exciting. It was well thought out and just when you thought it would go one way, another thing happened. I loved the characters all the way down to the little ones.
The only thing I did not like, that seems to be the norm with Mafia stories of late is the characters willingness to talk out loud about the organization actually naming it the Mafia or Cosa Nostra. They would not do that. It would be this thing of ours or the family business. Why take a great story and make it less by stating the obvious.
I love Miles, he has definitely cone a long way. His growth throughout this series makes him my favorite brother. I love Sofia too, she keeps him grounded and on his toes. Most of all this story is my favorite because it keeps you on your toes and always guessing. Above all I love the surprise twist that brought the families together as one.
HOT mafia boss in lust with another family’s “princess.” What could go wrong? Myles is the mob boss of the San Diego Moretti family after a family coup (read LETHAL PROTECTOR). The family has now dispersed leaving Myles who was the mess-up-king in the last book. He’s brash, impetuous, and appears in all respects to be the wrong choice to head up the family. Sofia Luciano is the daughter of another mafia family in Los Angeles, CA and she and Myles have had an on-again-off-again relationship for many years. Sofi is home now with tumult among the families because of Myles. Or is it? After Myles’ heinous act three years before he’s had to learn to do things his own way in the Moretti familia, which has rubbed some people the wrong way. The Council (of several other mafia families) has decided to abandon him. But was this all his doing? Are there other people close to him working against him? How about Sofia…where do her loyalties lie? So many questions that will all be answered by the end. And surprises too…I want a flash-forward of Whitney’s story… This was a well-written, fast-paced, GREAT read! It comes highly recommended for those who like mafia stories with an HEA. I volunteered to read an ARC of this book. So glad I got the chance!

Another good book in the series, Myles the youngest son has become the head of the Moretti family but encounters some serious problems with the Mafia Council he also meets Sofia again the woman he has longed for years unfortunately she is a member of the Luciano family and her dad is a main player in the council. A lot happens in this book Sofia's sister Gemma caused all sorts of trouble and gets her brother killed Myles mother shows up after believed to be dead for twenty plus years, the trouble with the council is cleared up and the older brothers return home with their families and he proposes to Sofia. There is plenty of action in this book and a number of twists and turns there is lots to keep the interest going, a really enjoyable read.
A truly, suspenseful mafia romance with some dark implications. The characters are impressive, well-developed & at times quite dangerous. The plot is well-thought-out & adventurous; there are some excellent scene descriptions. There is: a mafia council, a mob boss (Myles), a mafia princess (Sofia), mafia, family issues, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, action, threats, danger, attacks, conflict, guns blazing, setups, deceit, betrayal, murder, suspicions, attractions, memories, meetings, verbal conflict, devious plans, confrontations, attempted blackmail, discovery, surprises, admittance, disinherited, love, some steam & a happy conclusion.
I enjoyed this story. I think I would have enjoyed more had I known this was th a final book in the series. Could have overlooked that explanation but I picked up pretty quickly on what was going on. This story was written well. I loved the conflict. Myles and Sofia had a fun, sexy banter between them. They did burn for each other but again, I think if I would have read the other two books, it would have given me more insight to their history.
This compelling second chance Mafia Romance will have the reader flipping pages wanting to know what happens next. There is chemistry, betrayal, violence, love, ambition, and the possibility of a happily ever after. The main characters are developed, mostly likable, intelligent, wary, and reluctant to admit to love. I voluntarily read an arc and this is my honest review.
This series should not have been labeled suspense romance because there was very little suspense in this series. Myles finally start realizing power was not what he wanted it to be when there are others that have more power than you. There is a little bit of suspsnse towards the end which was unexpected. This is why I did give the book a 3.
This story was fast-paced with plenty of action, danger and a heart warming love story. It was great to read all the facets of Myles’ personality, from arrogant, aloof and dangerous to humble, responsible and madly in love with Sofia. Great story!
