After This...!
'After This...!' introduces Missy, a young girl who, despite a solid foundation and upbringing by both parents, has found herself in some easily avoidable circumstances. Missy makes a number of major life-changing mistakes without realizing that she is repeating the same pattern again and again without fully learning its lesson. Along her journey, Missy encounters some colorful characters; some disappointments; some hardships; and some validation. She finally claims what is rightfully hers before she herself altered the path. Missy will have to learn to forgive herself first, so the past does not consume her. You will find yourself yelling at her through the pages as she jumps from one glorious mistake to the next painfully unaware that life is just speeding by without her having truly lived or stopping to enjoy the ride...until.....'After This'!

I had the pleasure of meeting author T. E. Williams at the Arts and Authors Extravaganza. After speaking to a room of authors about book reviews, Williams thanked me for the information I shared, and gifted me three of her novellas.
𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀…! is one of them.
𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀
𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀...! introduces Missy, a young girl who, despite a solid foundation and upbringing by both parents, has found herself in some easily avoidable circumstances. Missy makes a number of major life-changing mistakes without realizing that she is repeating the same pattern again and again without fully learning its lesson. Along her journey, Missy encounters some colorful characters; some disappointments; some hardships; and some validation. 𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀
I feel like I went blindly into this book. Although I read the synopsis, it didn’t quite capture the essence of the story. Therefore, when I started this journey with Missy, I had no clue what I was in for.
Now, I must admit, I don’t typically read novellas. And as a result, when I began reading the book I was a little perplexed by how quickly the plot jumped from one time period to the next.
But once I wrapped my mind around the fact that this is a novella, and not a novel, I was able to process the rapid movement. From there, I anchored into the story. My appreciation began to increase. The more I read, the more I wanted to read.
Missy went from being an overly sexualized child, to a young mom, military wife, turned drug queen pen. Although she had navigated life’s difficult terrain. Nothing would prepare her for her final battles.
I was blown away by the unexpected plot twists. Although she may have cause some of her own troubles, my heart broke for Missy. #tearjerker
𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀…! took me on an emotional roller coaster. It was worth the ride.

I love how this author draws you in with the story line, then ends in a lesson.
