REDISCOVER ROMANCE IN ASPEN RIDGE. A SMALL TOWN WITH AN OPEN HEART.

Another amazing book in this series. JT and Riley finding each other after six years - being a dad to a daughter he never knew he had and falling in love with the girl he couldn't get out of his mind. Love always prevails!
Here is an excerpt from page 173:
'Did he want to be her boyfriend? The kisses they'd exchanged suggested that he did. 'Boyfriend' sounded official. Riley wasn't sure Ava even really knew what that meant. What did it mean? She hadn't had a boyfriend since high school, and that had been a whole different world. A grown-up boyfriend would be a new experience. She didn't want to lose focus on Ava. A boyfriend implied romance. Was there room in her life for that?'
The first chapter following this story is about Colt's mom in 'Ride into Love' (Aspen Ridge Book 5). Remember Christmas Book 4: Christmas miracles do happen when you realize age is just a number. Grace Decker and Albert Stanley - Albert decides to make it his mission to bring some 'Christmas cheer' into Grace’s life, despite her resistance. Can two people who believe their lives are over, remember romance at Christmas, and discover that you are never too old to fall in love? Enjoy and happy reading!
A nineteen-year-old barmaid has a one-night-stand with a charismatically handsome cowboy without even learning his name and later when he is long gone discovers she has a bun in the oven. Seven years later he shows up working at a local ranch and when he runs into his daughter recognizes his mother’s eyes and does the math.
There’s something to be said for chastity and avoiding sex outside marriage. As too many pregnant teenage gals have learned there’s a price to be paid for a night of passion with a fumbling teenage boy. This isn’t about morality but the costs involved and the lives changed.
After dancing around the issue for 200 pages they finally decide to tell the little girl about her parentage and do the big nasty for the second time. If this book follows the usual formula there’s a crisis about to hit the pair. But in true Hollywood and Romance Fashion it all works out for an HEA.
This book is very simply written, but that makes it pretty quick to get through. The story is good and I appreciated the pretty low stakes. The people acted like real people, although the dialogue could be a bit weird sometimes. I liked that the reason there was a "secret baby" actually made sense and wasn't the woman just hiding the child because she didn't think the guy would care or want kids. It made Riley and JT a lot more sympathetic that they both just seemed to try and do the right thing and react like real people in that situation. This isn't a book I would mark as a "must read", but its not a bad one to spend your time with if you're into small town cowboy romances.
There were quite a bit of editing errors, like punctuation in the wrong place or the wrong name being used a couple of times. It got more prominent towards the end of the book.
What would you do, coming back to a place where you meet a girl, and had a one night stand with her. Six long years later, she is still on your mind, and your back in that same small town. Then you run into her... It's an enjoyable and romantic love story, with a few un-expected turns to the tale. But isn't that what life throws at you? Unexpected situations, just to see what caliber of person you are. Great story, I really enjoyed this tale.
This was a sweet HEA. In the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book because it was so simple but the simple of it made me fall in love with the characters and the story line that was happening. I liked the simplicity of the book and how everything wrapped up in the end. I am now wanting to read some of the other books because I want to know what happens with the other characters as they have me hooked :)
I found this to be average. There's no real tension within the story. Justin learns that Riley's daughter is his pretty soon into the book, there isn't a "will they, won't they" dynamic to if Justin and Riley will get together, as they quickly go from getting to know each other to dating, but not calling it dating. There doesn't seem to be much of anything driving the story, as events just kind of happen without the characters doing much to cause them. The writing was fine, but the overuse of the word "females" while in Justin's perspective really bugged me.
Although 3rd in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. Mostly clean - sex is off camera. Trope is secret baby. The H/h had a one night stand 6 years before. He left town almost immediately after & she only knew his first name. He's back in town & finds out he's a dad to a 6 year old.
This was ok. After the witty dialogue of the last book I read it was kind of bland.
3.5 rounded up to 4.0 This was a truly sweet and enjoyable read. Little tension or complexity of either plot or character. Sort of a Hallmark channel read with all the hot chocolate and waffles and small town vibes. Nonetheless it was a cozy and fun read with likeable characters and a straightforward cowboy hero. Need a feel good book .., this one is a pleasure.
I loved this sweet story. The author did a great job writing the characters and making the reader feel they are part of the story. I read and listened to this book and I did not like the narration. AI does not bring out the emotion and does not know how to say simple words like taco and latte.
This was a very enjoyable read. I was a bit taken aback with all the errors that should have been caught and fixed in editing. The characters were genuine drew you into their lives. I look forward to reading more of Jill Haymaker's work.
Pleasant read which would have been much nicer if it had been proofread before publication. Don't know about any other readers, but reading something where I have to fill in words for a sentence to make sense turns me off. Therefore, any continuing with this series is unquestionably out.
A quick and easy read. I really liked J.T. and Riley as a couple. Justin or as his friends call him, J. T. meets Riley at a bar. He is on his way to another state for a job on a ranch. They have a one night stand and she never even finds out who he is other than J. T. so when she ends up pregnant there is no way she can track him down to let him know. Six years later he comes back to town hoping to find her. He is working on a ranch of a friend but does not find Riley. She is working for the girlfriend of the ranch owner and while delivering coffee from his boss to the girlfriend finds Riley working for her. They get reacquainted after some awkward moments then he meets his daughter by accident at a birthday party. He asks Riley and she tells him everything. He wants to be a father and the way they go about becoming a family is a really good story. You will enjoy this. No heavy sex here. The sex fits the story at the right time and is well done.
Awesome and cute. I really enjoyed Riley and JT’s love story. Both had to trust the feelings they had for each other and to give friendship and love a chance. Ava helped them to realize they could be a family. I could say more, however I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone. Trust me you will enjoy this book and the series.
