Hey there! Before I tell you all about myself, can I invite you to join my private Rachel's Readers Facebook group? That's where my readers hang out, discuss my books, participate in giveaways and learn about new releases.
So who am I? My name is Rachel Hanna, and I am a wife, mother of three incredible kids (maybe I am a BIT biased?), two lovable doggies and one cat that lives outside and thinks he owns the world. Okay, I also have a gecko now too. Don't judge me.
I started writing as a young child, and I went into the field of Journalism for many years as an adult. Now, as a romantic fiction writer, I get to live out my own daydreams every single day and share them with readers around the world!
I'm a Southern chick living near Atlanta, so I say "yes, ma'm" and "ya'll", but I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
I needed a short, sweet cozy read and this one did it for me. Two women find out that they are sisters after the death of their birth Mom. Mia was raised by their birth mother and Kate was adopted by another family. Both women have to come to terms with this new discovery and make some big decisions in their lives. Mia and Kate equally inherited the B&B that their mother owned. Now they must decide what to do with this new situation that has suddenly changed their lives. I found all the character's very likeable and was cheering them on. This book ended rather quickly and now I must read the next book in this series to find out what happens with them all.
Why have I just recently found this author. She blows me away. And the last line in the book has me dying to grab book two and start it right now. I highly recommend this author and all her books.
Really enjoyed this book! I love the found family aspect and learning to grow together as sisters. I can't wait to read more about this family! Love a good family drama!
In the reading app I use, this book is categorized under the section of “women’s fiction-clean & wholesome”. Clean & wholesome—the most accurate description.
If you’re looking for a Hallmark romance movie, but in print format, this is it. Lighthearted, happy ending, with a lot of southern sass.
Sweet Tea B & B is a short novel which covers the themes of friendship, finding family and grief. Mia is left running her mom's B & B after her mom passes away. She is left with this gap of sadness and doesn't know how she will move forward. After being encouraged to take a DNA test she finds out she has another close relative and starts thinking about the new relationship she can have. Kate is running a wedding planning business and trying to deal with her teenage daughter who seems to be getting out of control. Kate doesn't know what to do and when her health starts to change she is encouraged to take a DNA test where she finds out she has a relative she never knew. When Kate and Mia get together they learn shocking information that leaves the two of them wondering what will happen next.
This a is a multi book story and it looks like each book is short (at least this one was with it being less than 200 pgs). I'm not used to shorter stories so it was a little different. I think I would have liked a little more in this book but it definitely left off with a few cliffhangers which will keep the reader wanting to read the next book. I really liked getting to know Mia and Kate and seeing their relationship change throughout the book. It was great to see Evie change and actually like living away from the city. I can't wait to read the next book and can definitely see the romance brewing.
Sweet story & light read about an “only” child, young adult - Mia. Mia had recently lost her mother. The two of them ran a B&B in the North Georgia hills. Mia decided to take a DNA test and found out she had a sister. Turned out her mother had been a pregnant teenager and had to give the baby up for adoption. Kate, Mia‘s sister, was a divorce from Rhode Island and has one teen daughter, Evie. Evie can be chaotic due to her father’s abandonment. Kate and Evie showed up to hear the reading of Mia’s mother’s will. The will stated that the two girls needed to work together at the B&B for six months. At the end of that time, both would inherit the little inn equally. From there they could do as they wish. The story talks about the growing relationship between Mia and Kate and Evie’s love of the property, which seems to have a calming effect on her. A local contractor, Cooper, meets Kate and the two become enamored with each other, only to find out that Cooper was Mia‘s high school bully. Characters developed as the three prepare for a star studded wedding at the B&B.
First book by this author, and I’m hooked. Started at 2 pm finished at 4 am. I didn’t read straight through due to having adult responsibilities that got in the way (boo for work). This left me on a slight cliffhanger and lucky for me book 2 is already downloaded and ready.
Sweet Tea B&B is a delightful and lighthearted story with charming characters and a cozy Southern setting. It’s a cute and easy read with just the right amount of drama to keep things interesting. Perfect for when you’re in the mood for something simple and enjoyable.
I recommend this book if you like a good story. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Want to see how the sisters connect, also to see if they find romance.
A cute little story about what happens when you do a DNA test & find out you have a sister you never knew you had. Fun little book. Worth moving on to the next one in the series.

Sweet Tea B&B is book 1 in the new series called Sweet Tea by Rachel Hanna and a great start.
Mia has taken over the complete running of the B&B after her mother passes. All alone now with no family she decides to do a DNA test in the hopes of finding a extended family…what she finds is a sister she never knew about…
Discovering secrets, totally different childhood’s, sharing the B&B, forgiveness and maybe a growing bond between two sisters…only time will tell.
Cute, quick little read.. This is the first of a series. I am not sure I will continue onward. I liked how this one ended and I am not sure I want to change my mental continuation of where I would take the story if I were the author.
This is a delightful, heartwarming story! Upon the death of her mother, Mia, a southern bell, vows to continue to keep her mother's dream alive in running the Sweet Tea B&B, her mother's much loved inn. At the loss of her mother, Mia is feeling especially lonely since she has no family at all that she knows of. She has lived in the same small town all her life and has many friends, as well as the beloved repeat guests at the inn, however, not the same as having actual family.
In another part of the country - up north, Kate, who is a well-respected party planner is working with a bridezilla planning a wedding reception that is one of the biggest parties she's ever planned. At the same time, as a singe parent, she is dealing with her difficult teenage daughter, Evie. After yet another call to come to school because of the Evie's behavior, she is also feeling very alone and troubled. Kate's parents divorced when she was young. Her father moved on with a new family and her mother had passed. She knew very little about any extended family.
Rachel Hanna expertly weaves the circumstances of Mia and Kate's life into a beautifully written story that will touch your heart. This book #1 of a series.
Sweet Tea B&B is a beautiful, graceful Bed & Breakfast run by a mother daughter duo. After the mother passes away, the daughter inadvertently discovers her mother’s secret. Now her grief is tempered by her anger about being kept in the dark. Can she overcome this?
A woman at her wits end with her daughter. She’s been bombarded with secrets from her past & a daughter who is acting out. Can she learn to accept & deal with the secrets or continue to deny them? What’s she let herself in for?
I really enjoyed this story & the realistic characters involved. Mia, Evie & Kate were fun to read about & imagine their reactions/lives. They all have the same type of pasts, being raised by mothers with fathers that let them down. They are trying to deal with a lot of pain & anger while opening themselves up to family & affection. I can’t wait for Sweet Tea Sunrise!
Beautifully written story of a daughter helping her mother run a B&B that was always her dream to do. The mother passes away so not only does the daughter have to deal with her grief, run the B&B but she must deal with the emotions of finding out she has a sister that the mom kept as a secret. Ms Hanna and her writing draws you into the story to feel as if you are right there with them experiencing all their emotions with them. I sure hope we get another story continuing their journey of getting to know one another and how they grow as a family starting as new. Grab your copy today and enjoy this story and all the emotions they feel.
This was a feel good read right away. I liked the pace of the story line and appreciate that there wasn’t a lot of unnecessary fluff. Appropriate for YA
These books aren’t the best books I’ve ever read but there’s something about the characters and the story line that made me want to listen to the entire series. Like Pringles-once you pop, you just can’t stop.
Sweet Tea B&B by Rachel Hanna is a 2020 publication.
This is a heartwarming story about two sisters who never knew each other, but are brought together by an online DNA test.
After her mother died, Mia is left completely alone with no family. Hoping to maybe find a few long- lost distant relatives, she submits her DNA online and makes the shocking discovery that she has a sister she never knew about. Complicating matters further, her mother left specific instructions on how she wanted her B&B business to be shared by both sisters.
Kate is an event planner living in the big city- raising a teenage daughter, Evie, who is struggling. Kate is stunned to discover that her parents adopted her and that her birth mother just passed away…. And she has a sister living in a small town in Georgia.
Mia and Kate initially mix like oil and water, while Evie seems to have found her comfort zone. Kate only wants to stay briefly, but Mia manages to convince her to stay and help her host a big celebrity wedding at the B&B. Will Kate return to her old life- or start a whole new one?
Sweet Tea B&B is a story about love, family, and second chances. The story is short, which does effect character development and the ending is maybe a little rushed- but- this is the first book in the series- so these new relationships will be explored more in the next installment, I’m sure, plus there’s a bit of surprise at the end, that will make you want to grab book two immediately!!
Overall, this is a sweet, clean, easy to read story. I’m looking forward to seeing how things will move forward from here. If you are looking for a light and inspirational story or series, this is one you might want to consider.
