An EMP leaves a small northeastern town in ruins, with no assistance from the government, military, or law enforcement.
As a result, a ruthless band of criminals take over the town and terrorize its residents. But one town isn't enough as they set their sights on a hidden community of preppers who fled into the mountains.
Totally improbable situations, story line, and character development. Don't waste your time! I really tried to like this book but it was just too stupid!
This was the worst emp survival book I have ever read. The writing was horrendous. Poorly built characters. A person who owns a survival shop would know the things that the lead character didn't have a clue about. The other characters that bought cabins together would not be clueless nor stupid. After about half way I could only read beginning, middle and last sentence of each chapter. Got the gist. Took note of author so I will not read another book.
Grid Down by Roger Hayden is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number seven in this awesome series that I have loved reading and can not wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about horror, suspense and thrillers.

This is a fairly standard EMP plot with the event occurring out of the blue while the kids/family not together, convicts take over and terrorize everyone and good guys try to fight back. For a prepper, Rob and his group seem to have left out some key supplies to necessitate these supply runs so early in the game. They probably could have invested in some holsters, better weapons and making sure everyone in the group of adults were able to defend. There was an odd tendency to recap previous action at the start of new chapters. The book was just not long enough for me to forget what had already happened. The group makes some stupefying decisions which gets people killed and the main character captured. The most stupefying was subduing the very bad guy leader but deciding to let him live to undergo justice. Not that we get to see what kind of justice they had in mind because literally minutes after the climatic battle, the story ends.
This is a great dystopian story that certainly chilled me to the bone. It pulled me into the story and I enjoyed being part of even though it was stressful and kept me on the edge of my seat. I love this series

I have enjoyed many of these books, but this one has such a logical fallacy that it is not enjoyable. How are the kids taken and used as hostages. If they weren’t fighting, they would have been in the hiding hole. This is so very irritating. No one would allow their kids to be taken so easily.
Book Review: “Grid Down” (EMP Survival in a Powerless World Book 7) Kindle Edition by Roger Hayden (Author) Format: Kindle Edition This is an entertaining novel with good character development. It shows what can happen when an amoral criminal takes control of a small town in a post-collapse society.
Loved this story…plenty of action, relatable characters, and some good prepped knowledge. The children of the peepers were well developed characters that lent an extra edge to the tale. The background on the villain also helped make his role more believable and frightening. I’d recommend this one!
A good story with interesting characters and a plotline that the reader in and keeps you eagerly awaiting the next element. A very enjoyable read that restores the hope in good people.
The American is working on taking back the country from the worst of theworst. Only the military ain't moving fast enough for one famiky. Read the book and follow the struggles.
Once again I'm really enjoying this series of survival after an EMP strike. Another great story in this one. I thought it was a little long. Took me a little longer to read but liked it anyway.
This book kept my attention all the WA through. The author is a great weighted and I wish I could meet him personally to tell how I feel about his book and shake his hand. Keep them coming and I will keep on reading. Thank you very much. See you on your next book.
It was a good story. Ended rather abruptly and it definitely lacked a few things I had hoped for in a post Emp story. But the writing was great and most of the characters were very well fleshed out.
I can't keep reading these right now. It is too realistic. Too sad. Too full of hateful greed for power. I pray our world never comes to this. But I know scripture...
A gripping and emotionally action packed story with well written characters. Certainly worth the read. A new look into the craziness of the world we live in.
This was an okay listen in this genre, it got improved significantly by the narration which adds to any story. overall I am glad I listened to it, this was my first exposure to this author but I am willing to listen to another one as I think there is something there.
