Book 4: Too Bad... I Screwed It

But miracle happens, right? Just when I thought there is no hope to put the pieces of my life back, I meet Mike Gordon. Mike Gordon is the General Manager of Alpha Consults and my new boss. Well, I call him as Mr. Perfectionist. His impeccable work ethics, relentless efforts and in-depth knowledge in the field of business helped him to rise up the corporate ladder quicker than any of his peers. And don't even ask me how jaw-dropping and drool-worthy look he has. I never thought I will trust any other men with my heart when I came to know about my ex-husband's affair, especially so soon after my divorce. My focus should be on my dream job which I absolutely L-O-V-E, right? But it's so difficult to not fall under Mike's spell when we are working on a same project.
This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.

These books are amazing! Emma gives the readers four amazing stories of love in this new collection. Too Bad...I Screwed It is the story of Theresa and Mike. She has moved from Chicago after having divorced her husband Simon for cheating on her. After weeks of being jobless, she finally lands an interview with Alpha Consults. Greg, who offers her the job, tells her she only has to impress the GM Mike to get the job. She goes through the interview and is sure, based on Mike's reaction to her, that she will not be offered the job. To her surprise, however, she does get it. She starts working with Mike immediately and finds herself very attracted to him. Unbeknownst to her, he feels the same way. On a business trip to Chicago to meet with a client, they end up hooking up in his hotel room. He leaves before she wakes up the next morning and for the first week back, neither speaks about it. When she finally confronts him about it, the truth comes out that they are falling in love with each other. They start a relationship but vow to keep it out of the office. A second business trip to Chicago has them recreating their first night together only to have disaster strike. Theresa is confronted with her ex's infidelity when they meet up at the bar and not only is he now married to the other woman but she is heavily pregnant and Theresa and Simon's divorce hasn't even been final a year. She flies off the handle and takes her anger at Simon out on Mike. She does it again the next morning and so ends their relationship. A month later, she realizes her mistake and tries to get Mike back. At first it doesn't work but after Theresa tells his housekeeper the whole story, the housekeeper helps Theresa get Mike back, this time for good.

Back home in New York, Damian is made Senior Partner when he manages to not only win the big case he was working on but manages to secure a new and very big client for his firm. I had read a couple of these stories as separate books before so I am reviewing each story separately. I really enjoyed each. 1. Too Bad I Couldn’t Resist This really is intense from the minute Howard and Susan interact. The attraction is so strong it made me feel almost overwhelmed. Then they find out they are student and professor at the same school. That really throws a problem into any relationship they might want. Toss in David the blackmailer, Carol and Kimberly and things really end up much more twisted. I think the secondary characters add so much to this story. I feel the author came up with original settings for things to happen. The cinema bathroom, the library, and his desk made the passion relatable. I appreciate the author’s making the ending complete. I found where David was. Also I was happy to see the relationships developed and the characters explained and tied up.
2. To Bad..It’s Complicated . This book grabbed me from the start and I didn’t set it down until I finished it. I probably will be frowned at but I don’t think there is anything wrong with an attraction and/or relationship between steps. This story has more than that. There are a number of complications that go against these two getting together. There is Britney’s dad Chris who everyone likes including his stepson Pat. Since Chris is a politician anything can be a negative to his image. This story has so many twists such as Pat’s mom appearing to be money and status grabbing. She enters into what could have been a easy attraction between Britney and Pat and adds to put issues between them. I really liked Britney and Chris’s best friends. They added a lot to the story also. I enjoyed the ending finding out more about Pat’s mom. Her issues end up worse than coveting money and status. I think at the end I feel sorry for Chris. He appears to want to do his best for his family but he sure gets more than his share of unhappiness. I hope the author puts together a story for Chris. I really enjoyed this story and it kept my attention to the end. 3. Too Bad…We Didn’t Realize This story really held my attention since it pretty well focused on Damian and Vanessa. From the beginning of college they had an attraction to each other. It may have started rocky but the journey getting to their hea sure is entertaining. It was funny how far they went as “friends” before they became more. Damian comes across as a great guy. He just seems too focused on his career to realize his attachment to Vanessa. She on the other hand is just a touch too introverted to own up to what is between them. It takes her being in a “relationship” with someone else to make her stop and think. This is really a fun story.
4. Too Bad…I Screwed It I feel this is an original concept. The characters are totally different than I expected. Mike the GM for Alpha Consults is hiring an assistant and when he interviews Theresa he decides to hire her over his first choice. Okay there was his first mistake in my opinion. Mike comes across as a really nice guy. Tries to follow the rules and do a good job. He is unprepared for Theresa. Right from the start I didn’t like her. As the story progresses and her manipulation of seducing Mike evolves I really disliked her. She really came across to me as conniving. I felt for her because of her experiences with her ex husband but I didn’t like how she went after what she wanted. I also felt she came across as unbalanced and Mike should have run. I’m not sure this is what the author was going for but this is my opinion of the story. Even though the story ends with a some what hea I really had hoped for better for Mike. As I previously said, I had read the first two of the stories as separate books before they were put together in this package. I’m glad I got to read them all. This author knows how to hook my on her stories and I can’t wait for her next.
There are 2 stories included in this book. The first one was so bad I can’t bring myself to read the second.
The plot was thin at best, & jumped around erratically.
The characters were under developed to the point you were rooting against them not for them.
The sex scenes were cringe worthy in the way they were written, switching between course slag terms & medical terms, you certainly wouldn’t be getting hot under the collar reading them!
I wouldn’t recommend

“Undeniable Attraction is a box set of four addictive stories. I started reading and the hours felt like minutes, each book was captivating and amazing. Such a wonderful collection that you won’t want to miss! Emma writing skills are impressive and the plot was perfectly developed. And the characters were unique and fit each story perfectly. Don’t miss this splendid collection.”
Each book in the box set is amazing. Each character is wonderful and unique to the story that is in the book. I have read two of the books in the box set before the set was created. The other two were written and added to the set. Reviews for the books are below. Too Bad.. It's complicated...Emma has wrote an amazing book. This book grabs your attention and keeps it till the end. This is Brittany and Patrick's story. They are step siblings. Both secretly like each other. Boys date Brittany because of her dad. Patrick's mom married Brittany dad. Patrick's mom does something that involves Patrick and Brittany. The way she goes about it is wrong. Emma has created amazing characters with amazing chemistry. You find yourself rooting for Patrick and Brittany and that everything works out for them in the end. This is a great book to read. The story flows smoothly. The twists and turns in the book keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen. Pick up the book, you will not be disappointed. I volunteerly received an ARC of this book and this is my opinion. Too Bad..I couldn't resist...Emma has done it again. While she doesn't have alot of books on Amazon (they pull some of her books); the ones she does have are amazing. I have been receiving mini novellas from her for awhile. This book is true Emma fashion. This is my second time receiving an ARC from her. The characters are great. The chemistry is great. Plus the girl power in the book is amazing. I can't wait to read Carol and Kimberly stories. Pick up this book and any other books by Emma. You will not be disappointed. I received an ARC copy of this book and I am voluntarily giving my own opinion.

An entertaining and thought provoking read. by sewsummore
I have previously read and reviewed this first two books in this series so I will only review the last two books here. Too Bad - I Screwed it: Mike and Theresa were both employed at the same firm so they had to keep their relationship a secret. Theresa was just recovering from a bad divorce while Mike was a man that kept his emotions under a tight rein. When Theresa comes face to face with her ex all the pent up anger and frustrated of the past was too much for her and she exploded in anger and Mike bears the brunt of it. Has she lost him forever, or will she eventually find a way to explain the reason why? Read the book to find out! Too Bad, We Didn't Realize: Vanessa and Damian had been friends and rivals since college, five years later and living in different cities they still were each o, chatting most days. When her latest man asks her to marry him, she agrees but is beset with doubts that only Damian can solve. I really enjoyed reading these stories. The characters were believable and had depth and emotions that as a reader I could relate to. Sometimes we second guess ourselves into dismissing what our heart tells us, this became obvious to me after reading these books. A great series and an entertaining and thought provoking read.

The good thing about this box set is that each story is a standalone story and can be read in any order. I am choosing to review Book 3: Too Bad...I Screwed It
There is an old adage to "never get your honey where you get your money" - in other words, office romances rarely work - not even in the fictional world of novels. Our characters, Mike and Theresa find this out the hard way. Mike is the alpha male [General Manager] of a management and business consulting firm and he hires Theresa to be the growing company's Sales Manager. Recently returning to the work force after a bitter divorce, Theresa is surprised to be hired after what she feels is a horrible interview with Mike, but recognizing her skills and abilities, he hires her. To the author's credit, their attraction to each other takes months to develop and doesn't culminate until they are sent away for an overnight pitch to a major client. Their subsequent secret office romance burns into a raging inferno quickly, but just as quickly burns out when a random encounter with Theresa's ex-husband sends Theresa in an emotional tailspin. A rollercoaster ride of a read.

This has two stories in it. I love finding these shorter stories, ones I can read in about 1.5 hrs per story. When your a busy mom of 4 little ones you don't always have time to read 300+ pages stories all the time, and I dislike when it takes me days to read 1 story (because I have to stop to take care of the kids and fix meals lol) it's not that long stories are bad or anything (I have plenty of long stories that I love to reread) but sometimes you just want to a shorter, easy read that you know you can finish during naptime and these stories definitely fit the bill. And they were great stories and they didn't feel rushed or that they were lacking anything either, they were complete stories. Now go read them!

This 2 story set was worth reading. The first tale of a woman who knows her mind and goes after it when she gets a new job has some fun and teary eyed moments with friends who help straighten everyone out. The second story is about what started out as a competition in classes to become a lawyer between 2 students vying for the top grade. They become best friends, take the top 2 honors and move to different cities but talk to each other almost every day. One of them, Vanessa, becomes engaged but the other one, Damian, finds out the man she is engaged to is a male black widow. Entertaining with a bit of a twist.

A series of 4 stories that are each a complete book by itself. I REALLY enjoyed all four. 1. "Too Bad, I Couldn't Resist" Usually, the Professor has his pick of the College campus but this time he may have taken on more than he can handle. 2. Too BAD Its Complicated What would you do if your Mother married her Father when you were both kids. You really love and respect your stepfather but she has really grown up. You are crazy about her so what do you do. Nothing! She has a boyfriend. Or does she? 3. Too BAD I Screwed It I finally found a job I love and a man I really like. But does he like me. It's really hard to trust but I might take a chance but look what happened last time.
I’ve read “Too Bad... We Didn't Realize” and “Too Bad... We Didn't Realize” from Emma Vikes’ Undeniable Attractions: The Too Bad Series Contemporary Romance Box Set and all I can say is “total fun”. Also totally different but with the common feature of strong and well written plots and well crafted casts of characters. Definitely a great boxset choice for those in the mood for ... fun. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The boxset definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the boxset is definitely one to read, and it is easy to recommend.
I am slightly disappointed in this arc to be honest, after having read Emma’s previous arc books, (which I adored) these two stories left me quite deflated. It did start off quite promising, but there was a lot of rushing and unnecessary narratives and descriptions . Some spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Needs proofreading tbh. On a positive note the characters in both stories seemed likeable and the fact that we got the POV from both the male and female was also good. This arc was definitely better than the original arc. Do love Emma Vikes though, so would like more from her in the future.

I’M MELTING!! Yes, this book is just that HOT! And, I’m proud to say, I figured out the twist in Too Bad . . . We Didn’t Realize. It took awhile, but I figured it out before it was revealed. We Didn’t Realize has me smiling most of the way through, with an exclamation of “finally!” This was super sweet and totally HOT! Too Bad . . . I Screwed It is just as HOT!! And, no, I did not figure out the full twist in this one. I loved the HEA and how the characters finally pulled it off, but I seriously shed some tears between the HOT and the HEA.
An enjoyable collection of 4 short romance stories. They can be read in any order and are interesting and entertaining. The various storylines has a variety some suspense, emotional rollercoaster feel, a twist or two, hot sexy chemistry in well written romances and a group of well casted characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC which only gave a copy of the last two stories in the set.
Amazing & beautiful love stories with lots of drama. OMG!! I just loved these books but expected nothing more from Emma. These books are full of great character that pull you in to these stories. Once you start reading you will be addicted.

A compelling and enjoyable collection of the Too Bad series! The riveting story-lines are emotionally deep, well written, well developed, and move along at a brisk pack. Each book is unique with characters that are likeable; the chemistry between them is hot and off the charts. Highly recommended!

Too Bad I Screwed It Great short story, office romance is good. Just proves love is everywhere you just have to have an open mind.
Too Bad We Didn't Realize Great story, I didn't like Dylan from the start, he never wanted to talk which is very strange when you want to get married. It turned out better in the end. I love a happy ending.
As I don’t wanna give any spoilers. Just leaves to say very steamy not for the faint hearted. This has a lot of feeling in it too but as a good story goes it’s very centred on the steamy parts. Some of stories are better than the others as it goes with compilations. Given 3 stars as I don’t like it quite this blunt and steamy.
This well-written Collection of romance stories is fun, and engaging with steamy scenes, and great characters. These are standalone stories that will entertain the reader. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
I read two books of this set. Book 3: Too Bad...We Didn't Realize is a four-hour ADULT Romantic Comedy involving lawyers. Book 4: Too Bad...I Screwed It is definitely for adults only and is a five-hour read.
