Game Series #2

In Love with the Game

Rate this book
Aurora Marie Floresca just wanted to escape their house. Ever since her father re-married, palagi na silang nag-aaway dalawa. She wanted her father to be happy, of course, but not with that evil step-mother wannabe. Unang pagkikita pa lang nila, masama na ang kutob niya sa babae. She wanted happiness for her father, but definitely not with that woman...

But unfortunately, the witch won. She managed to get her father to throw Rory out. She was forced to stay in Manila for the meantime. She didn't know what to do in Manila! Wala naman doon ang mga kaibigan niya. Wala siyang pamilya. The only consolation she got was the condo unit from her father--well, at least hindi naman yata gusto ng tatay niya na sa kalsada siya matulog.

She'd probably get a job or study again, she wasn't sure yet, but she's certain that everything would be fine... until she realized that her next door neighbor would be keeping her up all night with all the banging against the wall.

Game Series is one of the if not the best of Beeyotch's series factoring in the legal concepts in each book of the series, there's just a wealth of rationality that isn't as evident in other stories. Beyond the logic, the maturity and mindset of the characters set them apart from those of her other works. It presents a whole new perspective on love, one that is both ruled by both reason and respect yet still remains true to the essence of romance. Though most circumstances are intense and too far-fetched from reality, the experience is not out of touch.

I somehow manage to partly spoil myself on what will happen in the chapters by checking the author's note at the end. When I finally finish and get to that point, I feel compelled to know more details as well the point of views of different characters. As much as I want to buy her self-published books, I am not sure if they are currently available or still accepting orders and being in quarantine makes it more challenging because I'm trying to conserve my resources. Once I get to a better place, I will come running for the physical copies.

I guess this is where my personal sentiments about the series in general ends. Not sure if the author checks the reviews on goodreads but I hope that it'll reach her someday.

In Love With the Game brings simple sweetness and relationships as source of support, positivity, and strength. A good half of the book narrates the infancy of the love of Rory and Yago until the abrupt ending. It felt like being the third wheel in their dates and wanting to experience them yourself with the love of your life. This story is lighter than the first and somehow healing because there really are a lot of candid moments more than painful ones. Writing is superb as reflected with my finishing the story in less than 24 hours.

This series makes me want to go to law school and think about my future beyond the usual scope I have limited myself to.
Thank you Beeyotch for sharing your stories!

It was okay. It's not as strong and good as the first book, but it's still enjoyable! I loved the chemistry and romance between the two. It just lacks something that I can't put my mind on.

4 🫶🏼 it’s good but I wasn’t THAT obsessed. I really like the way Miss. Ariesa Domingo writes her story though, literally one of the best authors I have ever seen. 😩 anyway, ILWTG was such a rollercoaster ride of emotions. :( I didn’t cry in PTG but that story got me really hooked up with every chapter ending on a cliffhanger. It wasn’t really the same with ILWTG though, ILWTG made me cry a little bit.

I’m not as obsessed with ILWTG as much as I’m obsessed with PTG but, I still love them both. Yago 🤝🏼 Jax. Idk why but I feel like something is missing in the story. Never mind, maybe it’s just me. It didn’t make me feel the same way as PTG made me feel but it made me feel something different. And even though it was different, this story is still beautifully written and is still a masterpiece.

Felt so bad for Rory, her life became so miserable when Yago left. But good thing Game Series is filled with such wonderful and strong women. 💗💗 Oh also, FUCK MILLIE OMG I HATE HER SO MUCH!!! made me want to do the same thing Rory did to her in the parking lot for the second time. Such a materialistic bitch and a gold digger!!. Miss girl was so desperate that she still picked up the money Rory threw her when they were fighting. 💀💀 Anyway, I hope Ellie’s safe now with Yago & Rory. They deserve the whole world. 🫶🏼🌏

Anywhoooo, I love you both Yago & Rory. I’ll miss you so much I’m sure of it. I will probably re-read your story soon. Love youuuuu Rory & Yago. 🫶🏼🫶🏼

In Love With The Game
Overall: 8.595
Favorite Tier

1. Plot 9.51
I love the plot because it is unique and there were a lot of conflicts. Scam iyong kaibigan ko na sinabing light lang 'to. I love how it tackle the issue presented.

2. Character 8.42
The characters were 3 dimensional. Minsan nawawala lang iyong pagiging makulit ni Yago. I love Rory's character, but she's not my type. The author is really good in giving life with these characters.

3. Writing Style: 7.22
I love beeyotch writing style. Ang cons lang siguro ay nagiging sagging ang middle. But overall, nakaka-curious ang writing style niya.

4. Emotions and Plot Twist: 9.23

This story is a heavy story. Damang-dama ang mga emosyon tas nanggigil talaga ako sa isang part dito.

definitely liked this better than the first book. i just feel like having more details would make the book much more enjoyable. there were too many time jumps for me. overall though, this book is nice to read especially if you want something fast paced and something in between of light and emotional (?)

i love yago 😩

I’ve always loved this book—it’s probably my most re-read instalment in the Game Series. Of course, it still depends on the reader's preference, but for me, it perfectly captured what I love in a friends-to-lovers story. Rory is such an independent and strong-willed woman. She deeply cares for her family, especially her dad and little sister. I also admire her dedication as a lawyer, though she may not be a top-notcher in the BAR, but as per Jax, she works incredibly hard, and she handles lots of cases. I even relate to her in some ways.

As for Yago, I really love his character. I’m usually not drawn to “Playboy” types, but he’s different. While he may have had his “kalandian” days, he’s respectful and ensures consent, never hitting on someone in a committed relationship. He’s a green-flag partner for Rory, supporting her not just as a lover but also as a friend. I also appreciate how he respects boundaries and is both intelligent and politically aware. He may have hurt Rory but she just do it for her sake.

After reading the first book (Play The Game), i immediately read this second book. And guess what? I FREAKING LOVE IT.

At the first half of the book i am super kilig but after reading the other half of the book? I WAS MAD AT YAGO (in rory's pov) because how can you leave someone without an explanation? like it hurts like hell man.

BUT AFTER READING YAGO'S POV AND KNOWING THE REAL REASON WHY DID HE LEFT, I CRIED A LOT. (I WAN'T YAGO IN MY LIFE TOO. HUHU)

ASIDE FROM THAT, I LOVE THE FRIENDSHIP. (JAX, YAGO, CHA, & RORY <333) I REMEMBER WHEN YAGO LEFT RORY, JAX AND CHA ALWAYS TAKING CARE OF RORY. I AM ALSO AMAZED WITH RORY BECAUSE SHE IS ONE OF THE STRONGEST AND FEARLESS CHARACTER.

AND OFCOURSE TO MILLIE, HER BITCH STEPMOM. I FUCKING HATE HER. SO MUCH. I WANT TO SMACK HER.

- I finished this by the end of December, 2020.

This is the type of romance you wish that you will experience. So in love, carefree. You can think of nothing but love him. Isipin kung anong pwedeng gawin kinabukasan at sa mga susunod pa. Maging masaya lang at uuwi ng magkasama. But, life is not always about happiness. Faces a different challenges that you have no choice but to do what you think is right in exchange is hurting the person you truly love.

I guess all the years that have been taken away from them was really worth it. They grow, separately that turned them into a better person.

Yago and Rory, stay in love!

Rory is a breath of fresh air compared to Kitty from GS1. She’s a true girl boss, confident, straightforward, and unapologetic about knowing what she wants. I really enjoyed her character.

Yago is just Yago. His personality is refreshing and adds a lot of fun to the story. Overall, this was a very enjoyable read.

However, I did notice some inconsistencies in the legal aspects of the story. I’m not sure if the author has a background in law, but a few of the arguments mentioned in the cases could easily be contested and didn’t feel entirely realistic.

Still, since this is fiction, it’s easy to overlook those details and just enjoy the story for what it is.

Amazing plot. I love reading beeyotch's books since her story always has a nice flow, and doesn't have any unnecessary details to it. However, I was so prepared to have my heart broken again as what game series #1 did to me, which left me traumatized and stopped reading wattpad books for almost a month, but it did not reach that level. I guess its fine as not every story should be that heart breaking.

Game Series #2! Yay. Yago and Rory omg -> from strangers to friends -> friends into lovers -> and strangers again. That "Ano ba kita?" line hits hard bro. I want to kill that step-mom of Rory! She deserves hell. I like how Rory survived her life despite of the things that has happened to her. I also leans on their mini dates they are so sweet :3

rory and yago were so cute :( though i can't really justify yago's reason for leaving rory. kahit anong gawin, he really should have told rory and made sure from there that rory won't do anything to make matters worse. sayang lang kasi their break up would have been avoided if they just talked.
