Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).

During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.

"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.

"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."

I still enjoyed the characters and the fun details in the art, but the story that started in this volume isn't grabbing my attention.

Buf que fuerte. Han pasado muchísimas cosas y lo que se puede venir... Wow.
Esa mujer es la madre de la Mikan x c0jones, es lo único que encaja y mira que yo creía que estaba muerta. Tiene pinta que lo que ha escuchado Natsume de los profes tiene que ver con esto o algo.
Lo de la Hotaru?? Mi pobre hija... La verdad es que el enemigo real de la obra son los mayores pq por mucho que la organización Z odie la escuela Alice y, a mí entender, quiera cargarsela, parece que no hace distinciones entre los que asisten a esta, pq sino ya me explicas el point de disparar con un virus a una niña de 10 años lol. Por otra parte los de la dirección son asquerosos al no dar permiso a la familia de Hotaru y el tal director... No lo voy a soportar me temo, me pregunto tmb pq su favorito es Naru y que supuestas cartas va a tomar en el asunto.
¿Y lo del edificio de bachillerato? A que viene tanta seguridad lord. En fin, a ver qué ocurre.

Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.

Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.

První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.

Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.

Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.

Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.

Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.

Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...

Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné

Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

Honestly, the only reason I'm rating this a 3 star is because of the formatting this was in. It's not too serious but it's really annoying. I WOULD LIKE TO READ MY MANGA IS SIZE 12 FONT AT LEAST! I find myself straining my already bad eyesight to try to read the little blurbs (they're my favorite) which after a while is SUPER exhausting. I know, #mangaproblems. The story itself isn't BAD, but it is a little duller compared to the previous volumes. Again, just my opinion. I love all the characters but the plot at times is confusing. Maybe that's just me... I find the whole alices thing really interesting but at the same time figuring out everyone's is a pain. The author does do some great explaining for our main characters, but the side characters really don't get as much love. I find myself constantly forgetting what their alice is and since they're not mentioned as often I can only guess and hope I remember. Like I said, the reasons are all very opinionated and overall, I still really love this manga.

Et dans le T6, véritable tournant dans l'histoire qui prend enfin, c'est intéressant, haletant, original, je ne m'y attendais pas du tout. Il faut quand même que je vous dise que de base, je m'attendais à un ptit shojo mignon avec de la magie. On est en plein dedans, certes, mélangé à de plus en plus d'intrigues que je trouve dingues ! Les flashbacks mêlés au reste sont incompréhensibles, j'aimerais savoir de quoi il est question, je pense tenir un bout de la vérité, quoique pas suffisamment.

Inchou- the glasses dude - his Alice power has been stolen by a woman n get antidote for hotaru from organization z. Why teacher don't take action n beat the intruders instead staying at the school n protect the student.The students like Milan n her friends wanted to help saved for their friends.At least seeing natsume,ruka n Mikan in 15 years old by eating time wrap candy n going to high school section n just to see if there's time wrap portal thing that can take them to meet the intruders.

This is the start of the next arc for Gakuen Alice, where we meet Milan’s mom. Some questions are answered, but in general more questions arise. This arc is high intensity again, but it also is setting up important things to come. This volume also introduces Tono senpai, which adds a great dynamic to the group! Still love this series the characters and the relationships. Higuchi-Sensei is great at making dynamic groups of kids while also focusing on friendship and love.

I love this series. In this volume there seems to be someone that is able to take the Alices' abilities away and our cute little Prez is one that his powers are now gone.

Also in this volume an organization known as "Z" has come into the school and Hotaru ends up getting seriously wounded.

Mikan and others are trying to figure out how to find the missing Alice's and who is behind it. Will they be able to find anything out.

In this volume I was upset to see some of my favorite characters be hurt, or upset and crying. Needing to read more to find out if Prez will get his Alice back, and that Hotaru is okay.

Something is happening to the Alices: a few have lost their powers. Fear strikes Alice Academy when one of its own students, Prez, loses his abilities. This, coupled the injuring of Hotaru by a member of the Anti-Academy organization” Z”, leads Mikan on a new mission to save her friends.

The wide array of power the Alices display are always entertaining, but the difficulty I have with this series is the never ending introduction of new characters who tend to look alike. I often find myself backtracking to figure out who is who. By the end of volume 6 the story plot becomes clearer, keeping my interest up despite the uncouth humour.

Tachibana Higuchi charges heavily into deeper plot in this volume as the secret organization Z makes a move against the Alice Academy.

I have to admit that the level of violence, while pretty minor for your typical action-adventure manga, is a bit disturbing given the age of the characters involved. It brings to mind the question of whether we should really be comfortable with how the Alices are treated or if there is a better way.

The Elementary Division president has his alice power stolen, and Mikan and Hotaru get right in the thick of things trying to find out what happened. When Hotaru is hurt, Mikan is determined to save her and the class president no matter the risks, even if it means breaking out of the school to face the anti-Academy organization head on.

This was maybe my favorite book in the series so far. I am finally seeing the reasons that Mikan cares for Hotaru so much, and seeing that Hotaru cares just as much for Mikan--even if she doesn't want to admit it out loud.

Eine meiner absolut liebsten Manga-Reihen, weil es nicht nur einen tollen Spannungsbogen besitzt, sondern weil die Charaktere sich auch Band um Band weiter entwickeln. Erwachsen werden, dazu lernen. Super schön dargestellt und wirklich angenehmer Zeichenstil. Inzwischen gibts auch einen Anime dazu, der aber im Vergleich zum Manga nicht so gut geworden ist und einen eher älteren Eindruck macht obwohl Alice Academy ein aktueller Manga ist.
