It's impossible not to love anything by Tee O'Fallon. I first fell in love with her writing style with Blood Money. She has this way of blending suspense and intrigue together that bleeds into the romance rather than depending on it. Every element has a purpose and you can't help but be hooked by the story. In Dark 'n' Deadly, each action had a realistic reaction and the secrets that were destined to be revealed held so much weight, giving this story its heft and its depth, allowing the characters to grow and evolve, letting what developed seem almost natural.

If you like your romance to be high in suspense and love, you'll love the story of Eric and Tess and the mess she created and the mess he cleaned up. It was filled with moments of sweetness, fear, love, and it made for some amazing entertainment.

Like the others in this series Dark 'N' Deadly features a hot cop and his K-9 companion. This book takes us to some dark places where you are glad we have heroes like ATF Special Agent Eric Miller and his explosives detecting K-9, Tiger to keep us safe. I absolutely adored hippy dippy Tess McTavish and the way she shakes up Eric’s world. This is a well written story bound to keep you flipping pages. A terrific addition to the series but each book can be read stand alone.

This is a well-written, entertaining, fast paced, steamy, romantic suspense novel. It has intrigue, action, likable, engaging characters, a strong and capable female protagonist, a strong, hot, male protagonist, wonderful K-9 heroes, and a happily ever after ending. It can be easily be read as a stand alone, but is even better enjoyed when read in order, as there are references to characters and events from the previous novels in Ms. O'Fallon's outstanding "Federal K-9" series. I am looking forward to reading Dayne's story with great anticipation.

3 Estrellas!

Dark ‘N’ Deadly proved to be an addictive romantic suspense, and I devoured it. Somehow, I missed book two but I will have plans to grab it. These really are standalone as each book deals with an agent in the K-9 unit and delivers an HEA.

ATF Special Agent Eric Miller and his explosives detecting K-9, Tiger pull over a truck and the driver turns out to be a kid. Tess McTavish’s kid brother to be exact. A woman he met previously and one he often thinks about. The kid is carry a truck full of explosives and his team suspect an anti-government group is involved.

Tess hasn’t seen her baby brother in ten years, not since she left before her eighteenth birthday. This was intense, not just from a sizzling chemistry perspective because oh man these two had sizzle, but Tess and her brother have secrets and the people they are hiding from are deadly.

O’Fallon did an excellent job of building the suspense for the case while allowing us to get to know the characters, their backstories and giving the reader a chance to have genuine feelings for them. I was rooting for Tess and her brother and I wanted Eric to open up and take a chance too.

Thanks to the suspense angle, the secrets and drama were kept low and honestly everything felt genuine from reasons to reactions. The case wrapped up nicely and we were treated to a sneak peek of the next book, and a nice epilogue. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Such a happy feeling is what I'm feeling right now when starting this review, because this book was everything I was hoping for it to be. It's such an amazing feeling to read a book you were looking forward to reading so much and that it lives up to your expectations.

Ever since reading the first book by Tee O’Fallon, I’ve been hooked to her writing and can’t stop wanting more every time I finish a new book. Finishing Dark ’N’ Deadly has me feeling the same again: I LOVED this book so much and I want MORE.

I really loved Tee’s other series as well, …, but the Federal K-9 is my fave because for one; I love dogs, especially Shepherds and these K-9 dogs are just the absolute best! I’ve fallen in love with the characters and their dogs in the first 2 books and now there’s Eric Miller and his K-9 Tiger as well, whom made me fall in love yet again.

I love how Tee always manages to give these K-9’s such a strong presence in the stories and how she perfectly embodies how beautiful a bond can be with a (working) dog. Tiger was adorable but badass at the same time and the perfect partner for Eric, who needed to be grounded every once in a while, often with help from Tiger haha. Eric’s character development was strong and well written - I’m so thankful we get to read these stories from 2 pop’s because it gives me as a reader a good opportunity to create a connection with both of them. And Eric truly is a character you just can’t stop falling in love with and wanting more of in my honest opinion, lol. I hope if you decide to pick this series up, you’ll end up loving these guys and their K-9 dogs just as much as I do.

Tess was nothing short of amazing either. I love how she fights for her little brother but I really liked seeing her vulnerable side as well. She doesn’t always make the best decisions out of fear and love but she’s a strong and good person at heart whom I really came to like a lot as well. I liked how easily she got herself familiar with Eric, his dog and his home and how she turned his world upside down. I felt for everything she went through in her past and loved seeing how she came out stronger. Aside from her being strong enough on her own, I also liked how Eric and she complemented each other really well. Eric and Tess prove that opposites really do attract and it was a lot of fun to see their romance developing. Their chemistry was so palpable and it definitely had me all hot & bothered, just the way I like it ;) Two characters whom, despite their differences, just really click and the execution of it all was just really well done.

I love how well the author is able to manage the elements present and have it all balanced out really nicely: Suspense, action, a steamy romance, such lovable characters and a strong story-line, all combined with such addictive writing. Once started, I never wanted to stop and I therefore finished it in one-sitting. And now I’m finished, I’m already looking forward to the next book, if there’s going to be one - I REALLY HOPE SO, because there are many more characters I need to get better aquatinted with *eyebrow wiggle. I just really can’t get enough of Tee’s writing in general and this awesome set of characters in the Federal K-9 series. These stories are going to be re-read a lot in my future. They’re just perfect!

Once again, Tee O’Fallon provided me a new favorite book, filled with a strong female character, a sexy K-9 handler and his super awesome K-9 dog. What more could you want?! Exactly! This series is a must-read if you ask me!

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and I’m so glad it was yet again so amazing that I could write down a 5 star review (as I often have done with Tee’s books in the past already)

Fab romantic suspense and adorable canines…

This was another great entry in the Federal K-9 series! Each story has been full of strong characters with heart, including the four-legged variety. A cadre of friends with K-9’s at the core, each of them finding love even as danger lurks…

Eric lost colleagues, friends, to a bomber. A loss he has never been able to let go. He needed the perpetrator brought to justice but he is still the one that got away. Through mutual friends, Tess was not a stranger, but when she crossed his path again, things were different. She needed help but his need for revenge going to mess with feelings he refused to give into…

Tess didn’t keep the darkness of her past at the forefront. Instead, she brought light to Eric’s decidedly black/grey world. Haunted by long-held fears and regret, she was determined to move forward with her small family intact. Eric blew hot and cold but at the end of the day, she knew he could be her one…

I loved this story that was equally balanced in romance and suspense. The storyline was intriguing, with lots of people to cheer and jeer for, with secrets threatening to blow everything up (no pun intended). If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly recommend you do! ~Diane, 5 Stars

* You can read this as a standalone, but if you want more background info read the previous book.

Eric Miller has had a rough couple of months, because after meeting Tess McTavish he rarely has a quiet night. So when he pulls over her kid brother with a truck full of explosives ingredients, he knows he will see her again. Tess knows their past is what got her brother into trouble, but she wants to keep it hidden from anyone and just run away again. But their past is unavoidable and their only chance to ever be free and be able to build a future might be in the hands of Eric and his dog Tiger.

Pro's:
+ Another great story about a great dog, even though the romance is supposed to be on the front stage. I just love all the doggie personalities and I think Tiger is one of the must fun one yet, he reminds me of one the German Shepards we just to have.
+ I liked the way this book is not just about the romance between Eric and Tess, but also their healing and figuring out what kind of relationship they will have in the end. The romance was a bit faster than the previous books, but that was not that bad.

Con's:
- The villains in this book feel a bit flat to me, we could have gotten a bit deeper into their motivations and more info about these sovereign citizens. They could have been a bit delved into deeper to make their actions feel more important and impactful.
- This book should have a S.A. trigger warning!

Another great book in this series and in this book the dog is again the hero of the story. They all feel so lifelike and all their different personalities make then really the unique characters of all the stories. The romance between Eric and Tess is fine and the little brother is a fun side- character ( I hope we see him again in a later entry). The villains of this entry fell a bit flat on their face, they didn't feel that threatening at all even though their actions should have been. However, it was fun and quite a light read, so I will pick-up the next books and read them too.

Review copy was received from Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I love these books in the Federal K-9 series because of the dogs who work and the law enforcement aspects.  The author has 23 years as a federal agent and it shows. Although, this is a work of fiction where some of them are in too obviously in danger. We see old friends from the first two books.

The couple in Dark N Deadly met and were attracted in a previous book.  Neither has had a great family life.  They both love their siblings but have had difficulties with parents.  Tess is from Alabama and Eric worked there for many years.

Their reactions to the issues are different. Tess brings color and life to everything, feeling her passions. Eric has a more shut down, don't have any feelings, you might get hurt style. That is all too common with both sexes.

Tess and Eric meet up again after he stops her brother on the road. Tess hasn't seen her brother in 10 years and he's just turned 18.  He's been set up driving a truck with contraband and is in real trouble.  There's plenty of action and suspense.  Luckily, Eric is protective of them and they go after the real bad guys. I just wish Tess had been honest sooner, rather than holding back on Eric, but her history with the law has not been favorable.

I look forward to more in this series.  So far they are all guys in law enforcement with K9 and they meet women in trouble.  It's likely to continue this way since we have met some of the other guys in their circle of friends, but it would be cool to have a female K9 officer too, like the author.

Narration:
I was thrilled to get the previous book and this one for audio review.  Vanessa Daniels continues as the narrator for the series.  I enjoyed her distinct voices for both male and female characters. There are some slight regional accents.   I was comfortable listening in my normal 1.5x speed.

I'm calling DNF on this one. I'm only into chapter 5 and I'm so freakin' annoyed with the heroine! I went ahead and looked at a few reviews to see if maybe she gets better, but looks like she only gets worse! I'll move on to the next book in the series. They can't all be winners.

If you enjoy reading romantic suspense with great K9 characters involved, look no further - this entire series has proved to be enthralling reads with great characters, both human and canine! This is one of those series that I keep a close eye out for new stories being released and this is another fantastic read by this talented author.

This is a second chance romance where ATF Special Agent Eric Miller has never forgotten Tess McTavish even though they'd never really had a romance before he had to disappear from her life. When he and his K-9, Tiger, find her and her young brother driving a truck which is filled with explosives the attraction between them is still there but she has secrets. Big secrets. Secrets that she's determined to keep. Secrets that could change their relationship for ever - either bringing them together or driving them apart. The secrets are about her family. They're the family he is determined to bring to justice after he was injured and his colleagues killed in an explosion detonated by her father. Can they learn to trust each other? Will their love ever stand a chance? And what about her family?

This is a moving story of trying to escape from your past and move on to a happier future that is constantly being thwarted by the family who should love you but instead are your worst enemies. It is a great addition to the series and I agree they can all be read as standalone stories. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and have no hesitation in highly recommending it and the other books in this enthralling series.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after being totally engrossed in this fascinating story.

ATF Special Agent Eric Miller has been on a quest for revenge for three years, ever since his friends died in an explosion orchestrated by Harley Gant, leader of the Sovreign Citizen movement.

Now, he's this close, thanks to a kid he busted transporting drums with fertilizer. The brother of the woman he still dreams about, Tess McTavish...But not all is as it seems, and Eric suspects both Tess and her brother are keeping secrets from him...

If he only knew...

I liked the suspense premise of this one with the bomb threat and the man hours and procedural that comes with a case like the one Eric was working on...It was intense, gripping and page-turning.

What ruined it all for me, was the heroine, her stupid secret and her butt-hurt reaction to Eric's response at finding out just what her secret was. She had more than enough time to tell him before things between them progressed to the bumping-uglies portion of the program and even after, but she waited until it was almost too late and she had to tell him in order to help her brother. And when he got angry (which was understandable, since he told her the whole sordid tale), she blamed him for it.

I couldn't stand that, the whole keeping secrets ruined the romance aspect and my overall enjoyment of the story.

I loved Eric, though, his K-9, Tiger, was a gem, and I can't wait to read more about Dayne. The little coda at the animal shelter really piqued my interest. Can't wait to learn more.

This review comes purely from the heart. I was lucky enough to be the mom of a German Shepherd who was trained by a police officer and to this day he was the most amazing dog ever! That being said I'm partial to books with K-9 officers in them. However, I can also be extra critical. This was amazing!

I loved this book so much. From the beginning to the end and I did not want it to end when it did. This is definitely a book I'll read over and over and that my friends are the only books that I will give 5 stars.

Plus if you read this you're gonna fall in love with all the characters, except the bad ones of course.

Ok I'm gushing and as you can tell this is not an editorial review this is simply how I felt about the book. Which, by the way, when I read a review is what I'm looking for. So hooked on this series!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Eric and Tess❤️‍🩹

Dark N Deadly is the third book in the Federal K9 series which I’m absolutely loving❣️Eric and Tiger are ATF partners and have been focused on a particular sovereign citizen and explosions he’s responsible for😢

Eric met Tess before he moved to Flemington, but when he arrests her brother and realises he’s related to Tess, he goes out of his way to help him and them - he puts a roof over their head and more🤩 Unfortunately, Tess and Jesse believe their pasts should stay there and refuse to reveal more than necessary by hanging onto their secrets. Secrets that could do more damage when they are finally revealed❣️

A great story and an ending that now has me intrigued and wanting to know more about Dayne and his disdain for Katrina😳

ESP:
Realmente no tengo mucho que comentar. Y es que Tee O'Fallon siempre cumple con mis expectativas.
Lo único que aquí me ha flojeado ha sido la conexión que he sentido con los personajes. Pero no es una queja basado en algo concreto.

ENG:
I really don't have much to complain about. By now, I know what I can expect from Tee O'Fallon. And she always delivers!
The only "issue" I had, is that I didn't click with the characters on the same level I'm used to. And that's about it.

PS. I still don't see how eating tofu questions one's masculinity 😅

Narrator: Vanessa Daniels. Love her!

Dark 'N' Deadly begins with Tess McTavish receiving a cryptic phone call from her little brother, Jesse, saying the words she had prayed for "...…….I want out...……". When Jesse had to abruptly end the call, Tess had no idea what would happen next.

Eric Miller was driving with his K-9 officer, Tiger, when a truck in front of him lost it's truck bed's cap. Eric turned on his lights to pull the guy over, but the driver had other ideas. Eric gave chase and the driver finally pulled over. When the tag came back as bogus, he knew something was off. As he approached the vehicle, there were other signs that put him on alert and let him know that he was pulling over a "sovereign citizen", who happened to be hauling two partial drums of ammonium nitrate that sovereigns use to blow things up. The driver then left his vehicle and ran, but Tiger gave chase and apprehended the guy pretty quickly. Once Eric learned the boy's name was Jesse McTavish, he couldn't believe it. The resemblance to Tess was unmistakable, but he had no idea how much his life was about to change.

When Tess arrived at the station, she couldn't help but wonder why it had to be Eric Miller who had pulled her brother over. She did know one thing...…..she would do whatever she had to to get her brother out of the nightmare she had ran from so many years ago. When she gets to talk to Jesse, they come up with a sort of plan for how Jesse would answer the questions that they both knew would be asked of him. Eric comes into the room to begin and is not really prepared for seeing Tess again, but he reigns in those 'old' feelings and begins. It doesn't take long for him to catch on to the fact that Tess is signaling Jesse. Wondering what they are hiding, he soon realizes that Jesse is just a pawn in a bigger plot and that the kid really had no idea how much trouble he could be in. When Jesse agrees to help them find out who is behind the shipment, Tess is uneasy, because she knows down to her toes that once Eric finds out who they are related to, all bets will be off.

Dark 'N' Deadly is an amazing story. The world that O'Fallon has built with this series is unparalleled. The characters she writes about are rich and complex and leave you wanting more. Tess' backstory is one of isolation and abuse. Once you read why she had to leave her brother behind, your heart will break. Eric didn't have as bad of a childhood as Tess and Jesse, but it shaped his life in a way that left him craving control. What hit him even harder was his team being killed during an op. The chemistry between Tess and Eric is palpable. The building suspense keeps you turning the pages faster, but it's their interactions, both intimate and just their every day rapport, that endears them to the reader. The secondary characters, some of whom we've met in previous books, are well written and only add to the story. Once again, O'Fallon has written a truly amazing story that will leave you cheering. I can't wait for the next installment. Well done, Tee O'Fallon!!!! Very, very, very well done!!

(Personal note: Very early in the book, O'Fallon tells about an event in West Memphis, Arkansas where two policemen were killed by sovereign citizens. My ex-husband, and the father of my children, was a cop in West Memphis for over 20 years. I personally knew both officers who were killed. One ate supper at my table so many times when he was training so many years ago. My girls, and our entire community, were devastated over those deaths. The schools were on lockdown and we watched the actions play out on live tv at my office that day. My oldest was home, and was maybe 75 yards from where the literal shoot out happened once the perps were located. I called to make sure she had the doors locked and could literally hear the gunshots as the situation came to an end. It was terrifying having to tell my daughter to get down in case a stray bullet from a high powered rifle came towards our home. Every year, on the anniversary of their deaths, our community still mourns their loss.)

Dark 'N' Deadly is the third book in Tee O'Fallon's Federal K-9 series. Apart from being a great series, I love that even though each book is technically a standalone, they all build on one another. So a new reader will still thoroughly enjoy and understand the story and characters, but those of us who have been there from the beginning experience a much more vibrant background and understanding that only enhances the already incredible storyline.

Dark 'N' Deadly examines domestic terrorism in the form of an extremist group (almost a cult) against the American Government. It also looks closely at child abuse, slavery, and sexual exploitation. Heavy topics, but written in such a way that takes nothing from the seriousness of the subjects, but does not make the story heavy or depressing. At its heart, the story is a romantic suspense/action novel and does not rely upon a heavily dramatic storyline to propel it.

I always find that I am quickly engrossed in a Federal K-9 novel. Every time, I pick up one of the books thinking I'll just read a couple of chapters and then go do what I need to. That couple of chapters leads to at least half a dozen or more, and then I find myself making excuses to read 'just one more'. This author's writing style and story crafting ability reels me in.

Despite my best intentions, I am not at my best until I've devoured the lot. I can't even really pinpoint what it is. The dogs are a huge factor; I love stories where the animal has a leading role and a personality of his/her own. I guess I'm always a sucker for the alpha male, who thinks he's not interested in anything serious, gradually realising that the right person will only enhance, not restrict his life. Of course, there is also the strong female role that is tough enough on to take all the crap the alpha male will give her, but still be soft and persistent enough to break through his walls.
I guess what it comes down to is an exciting and challenging storyline, strong lead characters that I genuinely like, and dogs with attitude!

If you enjoy a character-driven romantic suspense/action story that has dogs taking an active role in the story, then you will love Tee O'Fallon's Federal K-9 series as much as I do.

Dark 'N' Deadly was a fantastic instalment to this series that built on the world created already created in the first books and introduced new characters to fall in love with. All while expanding on the humans and dogs you already love.

I’d highly recommend it.

Another great suspense filled story from Tee! Just enough tension between the characters, one incredible K-9 and stellar writing. Eric is a federal agent along with his K-9 partner Tiger.
Tess is a woman with a past she's hiding from, one that she's put behind her and hopes never to revisit. When her young brother she had to leave behind in Alabama is caught driving a truck with explosives he calls Tess. Tess of course goes and there she meets Eric again. The two have a little history, she's the woman that Eric would never allow him to have. Eric wants to believe her brother is telling the truth about not knowing what he was driving, adding to that his sister instructs him not to bring up their past, at all. So they both withhold their history, as terrible as it was in Alabama. Eric knows there's a terrorist cell there. He knows because one of their bombs killed his friends and severely injured him. Eric makes the decision to bring them to his house to keep an eye on them, keep them safe and await the lab conclusion for the contents of the drums the kid was hauling. While Tess is all about vivid color, crystals and yoga, Eric is black, white and grey. In fact his whole house is black, white and grey. He says it's less chaotic. His manner is black and white, no grey. But he loves Tess's color and the light she brings to his life. He just doesn't allow himself to go there. Tiger and Tess's brother develop a kindred relationship and Eric even teaches him commands and how the dogs are trained.
The plot thickens from there and it's a suspenseful, didn't see that coming, series of twists and turns along with the further developing sexual tension between Eric and Tess. Tension boils over, truths are told, stories are pieced together and there are many an angry word spewed.
This wasn't my favorite book from Tee, but it's still a 4.5 from me.

I was granted an ARC from NetGalley for an honest Review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My suspense loving heart is filled yet again. This time by a new author that also spiked my interest into reading more books about sovereign citizens and preppers. Of course, there was romance and doggies.

How do you trust someone who withheld information and lied about who they are related to? What if that lie keeps further behind from finding the people responsible for killing several of your buddies? Would you be able to forgive and still love this person? Read this book to find out, I sure glad I did!

I fell in love with this book. With at least all the good characters, a good book wouldn’t just have good characters. Someone has to stir up something to provide some drama. Tess McTavish is a beautiful red head who was written so amazing that I teared up at certain parts. To think that what I am reading isn’t just a story, but something someone has gone through and dealt with. I love how this book ended for her and Eric Miller. Of course, I am also happy that Tiger got his happily ever after as well. I have an even more profound for K-9's than I previously did.

This book is number three in a series. However, I did not read book one or two and was able to keep up and the flow kept my attention. I do HIGHLY recommend this book. I have previously read a book series about preppers, so I did have a little back understanding. This book went into great detail that wasn’t boring, but kept me glued to my iPad to finish.

Hot Heroes, feisty heroines and doggies - what else do you need!!!!

Tess fled the backwoods of Alabama, running from her odious step-fathers plans for her. Sadly she also had to leave behind her baby brother. She's tried to keep in touch but Jesse finally reaches out to her. But now he is in trouble and Tess has coe face to face with the star of many of her fantasies, Eric Miller! But he is ATF, she has far too many secrets which she can't share with him.

Eric has had a major vendetta against a Soverign Citizen group for the last decade after it was involved in the massacre of his team. By using Tess' brother, he can get an idea on their nefarious plans and hopefully get the naive kid out of deep trouble. He even offers Tess and Jesse somewhere to stay. WTH? He keeps things distant and unemotional usually. Tess keeps splashing colour all over his orderly life. But will he still feel the burn of attraction to the spitfire once he learns all her secrets?

I have read all the books in the series so far, but you can delve in and out of the series as although it centres on a group of K9 handler friends, they are easily read as stand-alones. I loved getting a little catch up with Matt, Kade and the others (especially the dogs!). Tiger is a great character and I loved how he could level disdain at eric with doggie snorts LOL. Even Tiger got a HEA!.

Great read and cannot wait to see what happens next between a silver spooned female and a certain K9 handler!!

Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review
An action-filled romantic suspense novel, “Dark’N’Deadly”, by Tee O’Fallon (Entangled: Amara), addresses disturbing pertinent issues in a realistic way and features a romantic couple that seem to have opposite personalities, but soon share plenty of chemistry and find common ground.
Terrorism, bombing, human slavery, domestic violence. sovereign citizen extremists - all this reads real and is interesting, as well as the leads’ very troubled upbringings and families.
Eric is a tortured hero, affected by survivor’s guilt, a tough ATF special agent, yet so gentle, tender and considerate with the heroine, Tess.
Tess is a brave woman, but hiding so much. The siblings’ connection is touching.
Eric and Tess’s connection is slowly built when they fight a common threat and evil.
There’s lots of action, some of the romantic couple’s reactions seemed a bit unrealistic, as well as Tess’s ignorance about locator apps and the hiding/lying about crucial matters.
At some point, the action and the sex scenes seemed a bit redundant and I felt the story could be compressed.
Great secondary characters, a truly wonderful dog – Tiger – and a promising new romantic couple, Dayne and Katrina.

Opposites really do attract, and you can’t get any more opposite than Eric Miller and Tess McTavish. Eric and is super adorable (yet deadly) K-9, Tiger have a strict regime, everything is black and white (or grey and white), rules are rules, and life should be orderly. Tess on the other hand just loves colour, the brighter the better, and quite honestly she does live in her own dream world, also, she’s a huge fan of feng shui, crystals, yoga etc, etc, you get my gist. When their worlds collide the attraction they feel towards each other cannot be ignored, no matter how hard they try. Add in the secrets and lies, oh and let’s not forget about the possible bomb threat, and you’re in for a roller coaster of a ride. I’m loving the Federal K-9 series, of which this is book 3, they can however all be read as standalones. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Guys. I LOVED this book! I was hoping that Eric would be next (with Tess) and here we finally are . . . It was so worth waiting for!

Tee O'Fallon is one of the best romantic suspense writers out there, and her work is filled with believable but not overwhelming detail, which gives foundation and credence to the suspense while never stifling the romance. And the romance in Dark 'N' Deadly was slow-burn goodness with palpable chemistry and will-they-won't-they moments that left me wanting to read one more chapter, one more chapter, one more chapter until the very end.

If you're sleeping on one of the most engaging, exciting and sexy romantic suspense series going around—it has dogs, BTW, which just makes it that much better—then please consider this your wake-up call. You NEED these alpha men and strong women and adorable but crazy-smart and brave dogs in your life. You can thank me for being your alarm after you've caught up.

Non stop

I could not put this book down. Eric and Tess were both introduced in precious books, but this is their story and it is a non stop thrill ride. Both have significant childhood trauma and issues that they are handling and both are attracted to the other. We meet a new family member, learn about explosives, cult like groups and see how they address domestic violence and terrorism. That is a lot of cover, but this story had a great pace and tone that handled each topic in detail and with a great balance of raw emotion, humor, anger, love and doubt.

This is a stand-alone but we also got to see the group of federal officers who are all friends, briefly touch base on the previous two couples from this series and spend time with Dwayne who hopefully will have his story next!
