“The way my body reacted to him was undeniable, but the way my heart reacted was unprecedented.”
Calculated, clear, and concise. That is how I like my life. As head of Armstrong Realty, I acquire, conquer, and secure deals in the boardroom—and bedroom. No strings attached is how I like my relationships.
But then Jordan—Mr. Hollywood A-list actor—shows up. He has more strings than the 1000 thread count sheets I sleep on. We both have reasons we’re unwilling to open up again. And I can’t live through another heartbreak.
So I make a decision—a one-and-done to get Jordan out of my system. Casual. Hot. Naked. Simple.
But when the clothes come off, beds get broken. And everything changes.
Because underneath that California tan and perfect six pack is a heart of gold, a heart I want, a heart I’m falling for…deep, fast, and completely.
Mia Kayla is a USA Today Bestselling romance author of hunky heroes and sassy heroines that always get their happily forever afters.
On the weekdays, she can be caught wearing a suit, commuting to her corporate job in downtown Chicago and raising three beautiful munchkins in the suburbs, four if you count the husband. Most of the time, she can be caught on the train with her nose in a book sporting a cheeky grin because the main characters finally get their happily-ever-after at the end.
She loves reading about happy endings but has more fun writing them.

god dammit, i finally get a heroine who is sexually confident but she also comes second-best to the H's dead-ex, who was also his adopted brother's sister.
them dealing with her loss & his love for her is a major part of the book and quite honestly--a major turn-off for me.
he even has the dead-ex's name tattooed on his chest and i skipped to the end it he ends up tattooing the heroine's name right next to hers, lol.
I feel like I have waited years for this book to finally come. After Unraveled, I wanted more books on the Ryder brothers. I dropped everything to read this book because Jordan Ryder caught my attention in the first book and I was salivating to know more about him.
Jordan Ryder- Hollywood's hotshot, America's it guy is a DREAM! *sigh* I felt like one of those heart eyes emoji every time I read about him. Christene is such a strong, fierce, beautiful character.I loved her her sense of independence and Gosh damn but I loved her sassiness.
These two are so different from cade and Angie (Unraveled) where while they were the perfect example of opposites attract, Jordan and Christene were two peas in a pod. The effortlessness in their relationship was beautiful.
Undone is a beautiful romance book that someone brings together the perfect medley of small town romance, friends to lovers trope, action and adventure, intense sexual tension that is beautifully frustrating , humour and love.
Well, that was unexpected. I really enjoyed this actor romance. The anxiety was through the roof at times, it had me in tears a couple of times but I really loved the plot, the writing style and I couldn’t put it down.
Jordan is super swoony and really laid his heart at my feet; I accepted of course. He knew all the right things to say to make my heart beat faster and fall deeper. He is a real alpha; as are all three Ryder brothers in this book. When his stalker tries to get between these two and the twists and turns come about I was holding my breath. Fantastic twists and turns!
Christene is a very guarded lady and was rightly worried about getting into this relationship, a rock star? Really? How often would that happen, but she’s the lucky lady that Jordan has chosen. She is very wary after having trust issues and I could empathise with that. She had my total devotion and I loved how brave and confrontational she grew throughout the book.
I hadn’t realised this was the second book in the series when I started it but it didn't stop me loving it. I would recommend this romcom/suspense book to readers and I’m now trotting off to Amazon to read the first book in this series.
God I hate the Dead Ex Trope, and I think it was even worse because we got no insight into the MMCs mind. If it was dual pov, I think it could have made this better but nothing about the dead ex trope appeals to me and I wish I would have known that before starting the book.
I was hooked from the first smoke break. Jordan and Tene's relationship is so real the hurt they were both going through tugged at my heart strings. It’s not easy to get over your first love especially if it ends unexpectedly and it isn’t easy to move on after having your trust shattered.
And Jordan and Christine definitely weren’t the exception. Their short relationship had many hurdles but their love for each other overpowered all the bad even if it took a life threatening experience.
I loved how the author was able to capture a lot of my feelings with this book especially fear. I don’t remember ever reading a book and feeling so scared for the characters but I did with this book. I highly recommend this read!
Jordan is a Hollywood heartthrob and Christine "Tene" is owner of a realty company. The two have intense chemistry and witty banter. This story had it all from stalkers, angst, sexy steamy times and all kinds of craziness. Another winner for this author!
Undone played with my heartstrings and made me smile all in one. Tene and Jordan are our main characters, and both have their own set of issues. Everytime the two of them are around each other the chemistry is unmistakable. As the two of them tread into unknown waters they begin to peel away the layers of the insecurities and heartbreak they both have endured. Throw in a little mystery and suspense and we get this sweet yet spicy little read.
Oh my gosh... although my reviews would show differently, word escape me after reading this book. These characters can be real 'characters' in one scene yet tender and charming in the next then scorching up the pages in the next then whoooo back down the tracks of angst and drama and on it went. I LOVED EVERY FANTABULOUS BIT OF IT!!
Now I try and share what I maybe didn't like as much in a book but seriously, I cannot for the life of me think of anything. If anything, it was just that this was my first chance to read Mia Kayle's writing. It will NOT be the last and if she continues to write anything like UNDONE, well, I just found me a new favorite author! So basically, if you can handle some crazy humor, angst, drama, and sadness along with spectacular tenderness and smoking sex in your Contemporary Romance, you have just found your next read!

*I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.*
There's a chance I might be in the minority when it comes to my feelings on this story, but I could NOT stand Christene throughout the majority of this book. Good heavens, don't even get me started on Tene's and Angie's mom. That is one caustic woman! She's got that stick so far up her hind parts I'm surprised it's not visible when she opens her mouth to berate her children. And I actually had some issues with Cade as well; although I understand his feelings regarding Jordan, but for the love of canned cheese, Jordan is a fully-realized adult capable of making his own decisions.
There's no doubt about the chemistry between Tene and Jordan; it practically jumps off the page and will slap the reader about the temple. But goodness, it was like she had no regard for whatever feelings he might have. She basically inserted herself into his life and demanded answers to questions that really weren't her place to ask. It was all about her and what she wanted. I understand self-preservation and knowing what happened with her last relationship, I get why she refuses to settle, but the way she went about her interactions with Jordan just didn't sit well with me
I do like Jordan though; he's laid back and goes with the flow, but will go full-on alpha when needed. He's still got some issues to deal with in regards to his last relationship and the tragic way it ended, but I love his good heart and wanting to make sure his loved ones are safe from the threat that has shown up in Rosendell. Tene's poor decision-making skills aside, I liked the element of suspense that surrounded Jordan, although it was hella creepy; but I gotta say, ol' girl definitely planted ginormous seeds of doubt for Tene. I get the feelings Tene is experiencing, but she comes across like she wants him to erase any and all feelings and thoughts about his last relationship, yet she can still hold on to the feelings her last boyfriend left her feeling (not good ones, but still, hypocrite much?)
I had a feeling who was partly responsible for some of the shenanigans Jordan was dealing with, so I'm glad to see my theory was correct. And while I liked how everything wrapped up, by the end of the book I still wasn't a Christene fan. At least we got answers as to why there's so much tension between Tene and her mom. And I do wish there'd been more devoted to the outcome of the person causing all they mayhem and shenanigans. But! I was wondering who was going to be Wyatt's potential love interest and now I can't wait for his book to come out!
Woah... So, Mia Kayla is a new author to me, so I went into this book blind and not sure what to expect, and honestly from the little I did know about the book by the blurb... Well, I was not expecting what I got.
I am a sucker for an emotional read and this one sure as hell has its moments. I found myself crying, like legit balling my eyes out in some parts of the book.
Jordan is a charmer, he knew all the right things to say, he knew how to win a woman over, because he should as hell won me over, he's swoon-worthy, and I was putty in his hands. He's alpha as hell and someone that would have most women weak at the knees. There is so much more to him as well. I love a Hero like this. He's a mixture of them all. Sweet, alpha, charming, and strong, and not afraid to put his heart on the line.
Tene had her hang-ups, and rightfully so. She has a past and she doesn't trust easily, so when a relationship is formed between Jordan and herself, she's guarded, and careful... Him being a rockstar didn't help either. I mean, he's a rockstar... So how could she not question it, but the thing is Jordan may just that and half the pick of women every night if he wanted, but he wants her, and he chooses her. It's just getting Tene to understand that. But as the book progressed and we got deeper into the plot and relationship between these two, her walls start to come down slowly and she begins to grow, and I loved that... It's definitely something I can relate to, having trust issues myself and having had a wall built up before too. So I was completely smitten with her. She was an amazing heroine and she was realistic... The author created a character many women can probably relate to but even with those trust issues, she's still strong and fierce and her growth throughout the book was amazing!
These two together? well damn... The chemistry was definitely there, as was the sexual tension, and the push and pull... They worked so well together, balancing each other out, yet they bounced off of each other certain situations and it made them even more perfect. These are a mixture of everything all poured into one relationship and I was completely consumed by these two.
All in all, this book was amazing and I couldn't get enough. Certainly a page-turner. It held suspense, mystery, passion, heat, and of course an unforgettable romance story. It was addictive, all-consuming, and had my emotions going from one extreme to the next.
I fell in love with Tene and Jordan!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Trying to figure it all out and coming up short (on my end). Two exes and a crazy stalker later, and you have one heck of an interesting read.
“This whole daring adventure had made me realize that dwelling on the past or worrying about a future that might never come wasn’t worth it.”
One is a famous actor, the other a real estate agent. They say opposites attract, but Tene and Jordan are more like two peas in a pod. Confident, sexy and not afraid to go after what they want. The sexual tension threatens to combust whenever they are in a room together. But what happens when insecurities over past relationships constantly invade your thoughts? Can they both get past their hang ups? Will Jordan’s stalker be caught before she can do more harm?
If you like an emotional, romantic suspense story, then you will like Undone. After reading it, I realized that this book is part of a series. I can’t wait to read Angie and Cade’s book! It looks like Wyatt and Emma will be next!
I voluntarily read an arc and this is my honest review
So, I read the blurb and thought to myself this book sounds so good! Well guess what folks, it is even better than the blurb lets you believe! I have not read the first book in this series, but Jordan and Tene's story was funny, heartfelt, with some major suspense!
I thought the characters were extremely well thought out for why they act they way that they do and their motivations, I connected more instantly with Jordan than Tene, but that is not anything to do with the character or the author, just personal preference. I liked our leading lady. She has backbone, sass, and quite a bit un-trusting. Enter the super hot Jordan who is extremely emotionally unavailable and you have fireworks of all different kinds!
All in all, I liked this book. It was an enjoyable read that had great main characters and secondary ones as well. With a thoughtful story line and suspense, it makes the book even that much better! I give this a 4 outta 5 and am looking forward to reading Wyatt's story next!
PS: Thank you to Mia Kayla and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
I really enjoyed the beginning of this book. The flirty and fun comments between Jordan and Tene. But Tenes constant insecurities in the relationship just got on my last nerve. I found myself constantly rolling my eyes at her... She had a lot of growing up to do in this book.
Can you compete with a ghost? is it even possible? your heart is telling yes you can but your head and the evidence coming through on your phone is telling you something different. OK, so the messages are from the stalker of the guy you have fallen for but that doesn't mean it isn't true - right? And lets not forget that he has his previous girlfriends name tattooed over his heart!
Christene (Tene) - Sister of Angie from book 1 in this series 'Unraveled' is the older sister, well dressed doesn't like a hair out of place - her mother said she was born wearing 'high heels'. But thats where the positives with her mom ends. Tene has meet Jordon hot Hollywood hunk a couple of times before, brother of Cade Angies boyfriend but only in passing. This time though he is back in town and the sparks instantly fly between the two - but Jordon has promised his brother that he won't start anything with Tene as Cade is convinced that he will break her heart.
Jordon is adored my millions but when the love of his live dead a few years ago he didn't want anything serious; happy for the occasion hook up but his heart was never in danger. That was until he meet Tene, but with a stalker on the loose who wants to ensure the two don't get together and Tene refusing to be anything less than first; it will up a battle for Jordon to convince her that she is who he wants - but will he be too late as the stalker is now within striking distance!
Mia Kayla is one of my favorites! She's very humble and interacts with her readers and treats them like long lost friends... you don't really get that with a lot of authors... She is an automatic "one-click" to me... I love all of her books especially Marry Me For Money. I've probably re-read it 4x since it came out.
I don't even know where to begin... this one gave all the feels. While yes, indeed all her books gives me all the feels, this one made me cry... It's funny, sexy and heartwarming and at the same time it'll pull on heartstrings.
The pacing is good, the characters were fascinating and the overall storyline has it's own uniqueness. Is it okay if I say I love Jordan and Christene more than Cade and Angie? Lol...
Christene was relatable... at least to me she was. She's the eldest... she'd been burned badly before... she has insecurities that is not obvious to the outside world... and she has a special bond with her father.
Jordan, was also relatable in his own way... take away hollywood from him, and you'll see someone who wears a mask and has walls built up to there...
I love the story... I knew it was going to be good but it surpassed my expectation. I can't wait to read more!
Jordan has achieved more success than he could have imagined as an actor but when it comes to love and relationships the woman he loved was taken from him way before her time. He has developed feelings for the sister of his brother’s girlfriend but his brother has warned him she is off limits.
Tene hasn’t had much luck in the love department and the way her last relationship ended only makes it that much worse. There is no denying the chemistry between Jordan and Tene but will Jordan be able to convince her that he has healed from the past and is ready for a future with her?
Full of emotion, heat and just enough suspense to keep you entertained until the last page.
I loved this story!❤️. It’s a beautiful story of life and love. Sometimes the past prevents you from seeing any future. For Jordan and Tene that is exactly what happens. Both have past hurts that prevent them from living fully in the present. Can they each learn to move on and follow their hearts? This story is emotional and full of twists and turns I totally did not see coming! Amazing!
I love the Ryder brothers. I fell in love with Angie and Cade and couldn’t wait for more. Tene and Jordan did not disappoint! I couldn’t keep myself from turning the pages. I had to know what happened next. And my heart was pounding as I was reading and I couldn’t put it down! Especially the closer I got to the end. Jordan and Tene’s story was amazing and I loved being a part of it. I just, this review isn’t much but I could sit here and gush until Wyatt’s book is released. I loved this book, I love Tene and Jordan, and the rest of these characters and I can’t wait for more!!
Undone is a sweet, emotional romance involving a head of a real estate company, Christene, and a famous actor, Jordan. It’s in the same world as Unraveled, with appearances by those characters. Technically, it is still a standalone though. I have not read the first one, and I will admit I was a little lost in the first chapter, but I was able to quickly put everything together. It’s well written with good characters. There was also some interesting suspense, that had me flipping the pages faster! Both Jordan and Tene had good chemistry and had a ton of growth throughout the story. I thought it was entertaining and sweet and I would recommend this.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I absoltuely loved this story. It had me laughing out loud from the very beginning and it was such a sweet and funny, actor romance read with just the right touch of drama, surprises and twists. There was never a dull moment in this story and I devoured it within a day. The sexual tension and chemistry was undeniable between Jordan and Christene and only added to the angst within the story. Their past played a major part in their present when it came to their actions and choices but so did their inner insecurities along with outside forces determined to break them. I enjoyed everything about this story, even the side characters. Would I recommend this story? ABSOLUTELY! I know I'll be recommending this one to family and friends. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
4 STARS FOR UNDONE!! What a great story that kept me flipping pages. Jordan and Tene were fun characters and had me smiling a lot, but there was plenty of feels in their story as well. Mia Kayla is a phenomenal storyteller that keeps you engaged in the book. Looking for a great book to escape in.....look no further.
Ohhhhh what a book! What a great emotional story. Five Angsty stars from me. This book has some deep emotions to it. Once you start this book you won’t stop until the very end.
These two characters will have you on a bit of a rollercoaster ride. These two were made for each other. But these two, each have their own vices. And once feelings are high, walls start coming down but then things get dangerous.
We get mystery, sweetness, ‘lol’ moments, and we get a love like no other. These two go through hell, but the ending will make your heart full! And love WINS!
I loved Tene and Jordan story. I would highly recommend this book to any romance reader.
*I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.*
In Unraveled, we met the Armstrong sisters and the Ryder brothers. In Undone, we get to know Christene (Tene) and Jordan better.
Undone is a much sweeter book that I expected based on the blurb and what we saw of both characters in the first book. Ms Kayla did an excellent job of peeling back the tough exteriors that both Tene and Jordan have wrapped themselves in to show the world.
This a well written book that shows emotional growth by both characters as they deal with the things they need to in order to have healthy relationships - both romantic and with key family members who make frequent appearances in the secondary cast.
Add in a suspense filled story line and you have a winner of a book. After meeting Cade in Unraveled and Jordan in Undone, I am very curious to see Wyatt’s story.
Hollywood Heartthrob actor, Jordan Ryder and head of Armstrong Reality, Christine “Tene” Armstrong take us on an emotional and thrilling journey full of heartbreak, love, stalkers, drama, suspense, angst, and so much more in this well written page-turner.
The characters are awesome and absolutely perfect for one another. Jordan and Tene‘s story will keep you on the edge of your seat in suspenseful wonder. Through all the chaos, doubts and the life of the rich and famous craziness, including a stalker, they find their HEA.
Sparks fly whenever Tene and Jordan get together! While one fights the attraction the other snags it and won't let it go. These two were so cute 😍 Tene with her confident shell and insecure insides. Jordan with his confident shell that hides his tragic past. I loved watching both of them grow into each other and themselves. Their road is rocky and bumpy, but definitely worth the bumps.
The moment I read for the blurb for this story I was instantly intrigued and couldn’t wait to read this story. I found the story was different then I was expecting but it was a really good story. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters within the story. The two main characters were really great for each other and had the perfect amount of chemistry. The road for the characters Tene and Jordan was not easy. With angst, drama and mystery throughout the story it had me unable to put this story down. This is a definite must read.
Undone was a book that quite honestly kept me on the tips of my toes. Holy Suspense! It also held a certain sweetness that you usually don't get from the alphaholes or sassy heroines.
Who doesn’t love a small town realestate tycoon (in the form of a woman, yay), a Hollywood actor and sexiest man alive to take over your current read? Christene (Tene) and Jordan have everything except for love, both had it and lost it in dramatic circumstances. With another chance they both have to overcome the past, they both have to open up those wounds to move in, no easy feat when paparazzi, stalkers, movies, life all get in the way.
Christene Armstrong runs Armstrong Realty, so she’s in control in the office, but her personal life isn’t so organised. She has fallouts with her mother everyday, but lives for love of sister, Angie ( I loved her), and her dad she has wrapped around her little finger. But Jordan Ryder is one man that turns her upside down.
Jordan Ryder is an Academy Award winner and People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, and he’s back in Rosendell ready to turn Christine’s life upside down. In town to finish filming his new movie, he manages to lease a restaurant with a past from Christene, (which carries its own storytelling), and a way to catch-up with his brothers, Cade and Wyatt. It only takes the first 30 seconds into the book when Jordan and Tene have their first hilarious meeting… it Just spirals fir their, Their chemistry is super hot, and it’s inevitable they’ll get together, but what’s underlying is what neither wants undone.
This is a journey or broken souls, second chance love and the need to “jump”… Life works in mysterious ways, and poor Tene and Jordan are about to join the joyride. It won’t be easy, but the foreplay will be worth the explosive climax – literally.
Tene (Christene) and Jordan (her sister's boyfriend's brother) have chemistry for days. They also have individual insecurities and demons that keep them from acting on that chemistry. But when they can't help it any longer, they finally give in. Now the question is, can they maintain a relationship when both of them (especially Jordan) have so much baggage?
Wow, Undone was pretty great. There was more than a bit of angst, but there were also moments of sweetness, plus there was some suspense and a fast-paced plot. What more could you ask for in a good story?
