A sinister madman is collecting cursed objects and plotting a ritual that will change everything…
Quiet and withdrawn, Jami Chase is going to have to risk everything to stop it.
When Jami realizes her friends and family are at risk she leaves her quiet little Colorado hometown behind and finds herself scuba diving for a wrecked plane off the coast of a Greek island. The sun and ocean breeze provide a stunning distraction but she's interrupted by a sexy stranger that needs her help and a crew of men who think kidnapping is cool.
Jami and Jack quickly discover the truth about the necklace they're searching for and find themselves on the run. Can they find a way to destroy the pendant before the ritual has begun, or will this be the moment that magic is unleashed on the world?
Readers are loving this cross between "Romancing the Stone" and "Indiana Jones", falling in love with the sexy leads, their snarky comments, and their mission to save their friends - and the world.
I won this book from Goodreads giveaway for my honest opinion. The book, is a short read. I did not read the first book, and although it could be a stand along book, it would be helpful to have some of the information from the first book. The book was very fast paced, which limited learning about the characters. The main character has anxiety from a previous traumatic childhood experience that she seems to have been babied her whole life. One day she packs her bags in search of a cursed necklace. She meets a guy who is also searching for the same thing. Within the week they are together, they fight the bad guys, start falling in love, and he gets to meet her family. The book is fast paced and seemed to try and crunch a lot of information into the few amount of pages offered. Not a terrible read, but not interested in finishing the series.
I just love this book it's fast pace and good read on a rain day. I love Jami she had something bad happen to her when she was a kid so everyone to the day still treats her like a little kid but she is 27 years old and try of it. Then there is the oh yummy Val he a reporter and trying to do finish finding out what happen to his grandparents. To know more about this book grab your copy to day a so so so must read!!!!!
I loved the plot, the characters, and the pace. What I didn't like was the cliff hanger ending. I really enjoyed Jami taking charge of her life. There was good action and wonderful dialogue. If you like romantic suspense this book is for you. Just be prepared for the ending
This is book two in Green’s ‘Fated’ series and ‘Cursed’ is a much shorter book at only 146 pages making this a fairly quick read. It can be read as a standalone book but I feel the reader would benefit and enjoy the story more if they had read the first book, ‘Destined’ first, as I had. Cursed, introduces us to two new main characters, Jami Chase and reporter Val. As in book one Green makes us like and care about the main characters and their fate. Together Jami and Val go in search of a lost cursed necklace, they both have different reasons for embarking on this adventure. As the book is so short a bit more character development would be good and I felt I only understood the backstory of the main plot line, of cursed objects, from reading ‘Destined’ first. However I did enjoy this story and look forward to further books in the series. As the blurb states, “Readers are loving this cross between "Romancing the Stone" and "Indiana Jones", falling in love with the sexy leads, their snarky comments, and their mission to save their friends - and the world”. A four star read if the reader has read the first book in the ‘Fated’ series, a three star read if reading the book as a standalone novel.
3.5 stars - This book has great bones! It was however a very short and quick read (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), but it just felt a little incomplete. I will admit that I have not read the first book in the Fated series (which I would now like to, I think it could help give a little context to this story). Let's start with what I loved about this book. First, I think the story line and plot are great! Cursed objects, treasure hunters trying to save the day, and a little love story thrown in, all come together wonderfully to reign in the reader's attention and get you to come back for more. Additionally, I like the main characters and the author's style of writing. My main criticism is that I would have liked more character development and more meat to the story. I felt like I was reading more of a quick novella story, or something that hadn't been finished yet, than a full blown novel.
I won a copy of this book in a giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the 'Fated' series but is a story that can be read on it's own, however I do think the reader will benefit from reading the first novel (which I thoroughly enjoyed!)
This novel is a bit shorter than the fits book and moves at a fast pace and I think the reader would have benefited by the story being 'fleshed out' a bit.
The author however knows how to create strong, well written characters that you care about through all their flaws and quirks.
This was quite the story! It was a fantastic addition to the series full of romance, adventure, and a twist that really catches you off guard! I love how from the first page this series immerses you into its world of vibrant action, and there isnt a slow moment to be had. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for the future, this sets quite the bar! Thank you for the opportunity to review this gem!
I received a copy of this book from TBC Reviewers request- Thank you This book is the second in the series and it shows, there are ‘gaps’ in the story history in places that book one fleshes out. The book itself is well paced and keeps the reader engaged to the end. It is left on enough of a cliff-hanger that the reader feels compelled to read the next book
I enjoyed Jami's character. The story was a little short for my taste. It was still full of adventures and strong characters. Independence and perseverance are admirable qualities. Sexually charged partnerships are fun, too.
