The Power of Love

What a touching story!

Joshua Markham was in a slump and needed to find his passion again in his growing recording business. One quick glance, then hearing THAT voice of one of his latest recording artist, Willow James and they're both in for a passionate ride with a few bumps along the way! Gotta love Joshua for going after what he wanted in the industry of fickle people!

Noah's story is coming next... can't wait!

Joshua Markham needed a change because things that excited him before, like his successful record label, no longer made him feel alive. He was looking for something or maybe someone new to recharge his life.
Willow James just got the opportunity of a lifetime by being discovered by the biggest record label in the business and she felt that things were finally falling into place for her. To bad he current and soon to be ex doesn't share in her joy. That's okay because she has her music and that's all she needs right now, or so she though until she meets Joshua. Joshua and Willow realize very quickly that their mutual attraction could be a conflict of interest, what with him technically being her new boss and all. But are their issues enough to make them turn there backs on love, or will they realize that what they've found in each other is worth fighting for.
This was a passionate and sweet story that has a little drama, but mostly misunderstandings and miscommunication between Willow and Joshua. I was rooting for this couple from the time they met and enjoyed getting to know them.

Who Was Seduced??

A typical interracial romance with Joshua Markham, a wealthy white, CEO and President of Conquest Music Group and Willow James (Syn), the African-American rising star of the record label. No, she wasn't a virgin, however, she never dated a white man. He dated women of all types and races.

As usual, it was instant attraction for both of them. Willow was more hesitant, not just because he was white, but he was her boss. Joshua was hesitant for he didn't like having relationships with employees though he had done so in the past. He thought it would simply be another seduction and he would soon move on. Her relationship with a black man, Christopher, wasn't working out. Willow was "weak" for Chris and gave in time and time again in spite of him never being there for her.

This is a short, erotic story of him coming to terms that his feelings for her went beyond a sexual attraction. She refused to be hurt again so she refused to acknowledge that he wanted her for more than sex. Did he finally meet the woman of his dreams? If so, was using his sexual prowess a mistake? Did she accept that she meant more than sex? There was very little backstory for either of them and the plot was extremely thin. For those who simply want a little story with descriptive sex, then this book is for you. If you need more story than sex be prepared to skim a lot of the book. Yes, there was an Epilogue with a really sweet HEA.

This was an okay read mostly because I thought Joshua really needed to get it together in his pursuit of Willow. She was young and behaved immaturely after their first time together, but he was really no better when he came at her the second time and took her in his home office, only to leave her humiliated and feeling used. I expected him to be the mature one in this relationship and after he did that, I was kind of turned off with them being together. There was passion there and even a true friendship building between them, but I don't know, I wasn't really into it. The writing was okay to me as well Really thought the cover of the book was hot though and sex scenes were written well. Overall, it's a 3-star read for me. Decent, but not great.

A Good Read

This was an enjoyable quick read. I loved the pace and how it didn't drag on. Joshua saw Willow briefly and fell in love. He took the time to woo Willow and get to know her which was not the norm for him. I understand Willow's hesitancy because she had just gotten out of her first serious relationship which she learned was all a lie. I'm glad that too much time wasn't wasted on a misunderstanding or lack of clear communication and that they resolved everything and moved forward with their relationship. And I love their HEA ending.

Syn-tastic

This book has definitely made a syn-tastic read.
In addition to the Cassie Verano collection I’ve started this book has some real life issues that some people face today.

This is one of those books I truly enjoyed reading and look forward to seeing more of. Now onto the next seduction.

New Reader

I accidentally came across this book. I couldn't find book 1, but thought the synopsis was interesting enough to take a chance on book 2. So glad it pulled me in. It was really nice to read a story were the roles are reversed. Josh and Syn are my new favorite 💑!

Willow James and Joshua Markham have a sinfully seductive relationship

Willow James is an up and coming singer and songwriter who is fortunately have been discovered at a nightclub but the cousin of the owner of a large Music company. Joshua Markham is a wealthy business entrepreneur who took his trust fund, changed his name and forged his billion dollar business with his own sweat and hard work.

Once Joshua lays eyes on Willow, he is determined to have her in his bed. Willow, just coming off of a failed relationship is not interested.

What I really enjoyed the most about this particular story is that while the main characters clearly had sexual chemistry, they developed a friendship first. I believe their friendship laid the foundation to weather them thru their first large hurdle.

Loved the peak into their future and the happy ever after.

I am familiar with Cassie Verano's books and this one was not really one of my faves. I am reading the story of Joshua's friend's story (Noah) and I find that one better. I don't know why it was taking me so long to finish it but it did not grab me as I expected it to. It is unusual because I love stories about singers and musicians in the music industry as well as the romance but I did not really feel the chemistry between Willow and Joshua. I am glad that they got their HEA which is revealed in the Epilogue of this book.

Ok

It was a lot telling of the story but no showing. For instance, we are told that they became friends first but the plot didn't really show it enough for me.

Good read 3.5 but

The book read well. I enjoyed the buildup of the relationship showing the real trial and tribulations. Willow was obviously young and immature playing games. This attitude of hers of not answering his calls after they were together the first time was silly considering they had been building a friendship. She almost made us feel like there was some Metoo behavior here while we know that actually Joshua really liked her and he wasn’t trying to coerce her in anyway. I know he was angry with her but the scene in his office was foul. I’m glad that he went to her because otherwise this love story wouldn’t have developed. I like the supporting cast of Diane and Noah, great friends to have. The reason why I didn’t give the book higher marks is because what he described in the epilogue is really what I would have like to read about. How did they manage her career and their romance, the marketing of it, his/her family reaction to it all, them having a family etc. The meat of a relationship instead of just the beginning where people are in love and it’s all rosy.

Willow, a.k.a. Syn, is a newly changed woman seeking to fulfill her dreams as a singer/songwriter. Joshua, the president of the record label, was first attracted to her and ways he couldn’t explain. These two shows lotta chemistry. Finding a way to each other had continuous mixed signals but acknowledged that they wanted each other was a normal relationship. HEA, no cliffhangers and a sweet disposition. Kudos to the author.

After hearing her voice things were looking up for her but someone is out there trying to keep Joshua and Willow from stronger ties other than the music. Synful Seduction is a great story about Joshua, the head of a large record label and Willow an artist recently signed. Joshua is instantly intrigued with Willow but she is understanding cautious about becoming involved with her boss. They are both well written and the story is a quick read but doesn't feel rushed.

Loved the book it was great the story was well written and the characters were interesting. Joshua has built his music company. Willow is a singer writer. They both meet and the chemistry between these two are hot.

This was an OK read. Well written. Josh was nice enough, didn’t come of as a predator like Noah. Willow/Syn was kind of naive for a person with a psychology degree.
