A demon hunter seeking to break a curse. A half-demon playing a dangerous game. And a professor that's the puppet master of them both...
Erin Everyone at Blackthorn Hunter's Academy has found out about my half-demon blood, and I've become the most hated girl in school. I thought pranks were the worst to come--until people started calling for my head. Rey and I have bound souls, but the bond we share has become a curse. He's refusing my love, and if that weren't awkward enough, now he's my teacher. I no longer want my soul tied to Rey's. And to break the connection between us, we'll have to perform a ritual that'll put the whole academy in danger...
Rey I made a deal with Professor Crimson. Get rid of Headmaster Randall, and he'll spare Erin's life. It's a mission that's proving to be harder--and more dangerous--than I ever imagined. Erin doesn't understand that we can't be together. It's far too dangerous, even though my love still burns for her secretly. Going through with this ritual to break our bond might be a mistake...
Sexy, seductive, and sinful, this is one magic academy novel that'll leave readers on the edge of their seat. This new adult paranormal romance full of demons and dark magic is just one more amazing installment in Juliana Haygert's Rite World universe.
While Juliana Haygert dreams of being Wonder Woman, Buffy, or a blood elf shadow priest, she settles for the less exciting—but equally gratifying—life of a wife, mother, and author. She resides in North Carolina and spends her days writing about kick-ass heroines and the heroes who drive them crazy.

Being a half-demon is dangerous. Being a known half-demon means pure torment at Blackthorn Academy - harassment, being an outcast, cruel jokes, whatever bullying you can think of. Yet the worst evil is hidden elsewhere. Erin tries to cope as well as she can, but with her mother's crazy demands, treatment of her classmates, and Rey's distant rejection over and over again make her heart ache. So much so, she finds the means to cut the twin soul bond. After the midterm games, however, the game changed completely... This is a series that can consume the reader whole. Addicting, magical, full of fast-paced action and never ending unpredictable twists. Watching the dynamics of Rey and Erin's relationship is amusement and despair at once, not even taking into account the other interactions. I loved the re-appearance of the characters one could meet in other series by this author, tying some laces together and making the world building more complex. I am very much looking forward to where Erin & Rey's story will head next and what other deadly threats are waiting for them.
The Soul Bond Blackthorn Hunters Academy Juliana Haygert
Wow! Book three wastes no time at the start gate. After the Summer Break that Erin and her Friend Claire spent recovering at a loft by themselves, and trying to get past Romance problems they both had last year, the news of Half Demons being accepted into the School of Demon Hunters is not going over well with the other Students or the Parents, or some of the Teachers causing isolated attacks on the half blood's, and isolation by most.
Rey is still fighting against his Bond to Erin, and She against him, but they both have many moments of weakness, and to top it off, Rey is one of Erin's Professors this year. The Headmaster of the School announces that in order to satisfy the Outraged Parents, Professors, and other (Normal Students) that there would be a life or death tournament at the end of the year against the Professional Demon Hunters, and the Half-Blood Students, while the survivors will be allowed to study as normal and not be attacked or harassed by anyone thereafter. But that also includes Rey since he's a half-blood as well.
Rey in his bird form follows the Headmaster to and through a portal and discovers the secret of his immortality and Magic-Strength, and the story is non-stop excitement and twists including a surprise on the Bond between Erin and Rey. I've just finished this one, and I'm counting the days until the next book to see what happens next. There is so much more between the lines of this review that will keep you on the edge of your seat. So grab a copy, get comfortable because you won't want to move unless you have to..."It's that good!''
Erin's life has never been easy at the Blackthorn Hunter's Academy but with my secret out the other Half Demons being harassed and my mother teaching me some really dark magic just so I have a chance of defending myself against my father Kind Brekin my life is only getting worse. The Half Demon I love Rey is now my professor and he broke my heart. Also everyone is out to get me i mean it they want me dead.
Rey my life is getting harder to deal with by the second I've been ordered to stay away from Erin by her mother professor Crimson is threatening Erin if I don't find out Dean Randall's secret and get him out of power. Well I find out his secret it makes me sick Erin is attacked and I have to deal with her treating me like I have the plague in class. Did I mention I'm her professor yet another reason I have to stay away no relationship with students. And now Erin has away to break our bond why am I not happy about this.
Torturous games Demons on the loose a new Dean is in charge. What else is coming and the soul bond it may be broken but our love is even stronger.
Another great read in this series cant wait for book 4. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I am still rooting for Erin & Rey! So much has happened. I can't believe it. Lots of action and suspense. Loved every moment of reading this story so far. I can't get enough, and trying to wait patiently for the next book to come haha. I highly recommend this series. you won't be disappointed!
And we are off to the races guys. If you thought the first two were good.... Well this one is gonna blow your socks off. I found myself screaming at my kindle several times. There were also moments where I was seriously angry with a couple of the characters and wanted to throat punch them one moment and hug em the next!
OMG this series is just awesome! It’s well written and talk about fast paced, it hits the ground running from the very start! Tons of action, lots of suspense, demons, dark magic, this is a real rollercoaster of emotions that will have you yelling at your kindle / book! Throw in some twists and turns and this paranormal romance will have you on the edge of your seat! A great read!
The deeper the story goes, the more I love this series! The character depth and development is ever changing and full of surprises. "The Soul Bond" is the best book by far in the series! With it's incredible storyline and beautifully done world building, you can't help reading through the night!
Wow absolutely wow what an amazing story the more I read of this series the more interested I get I just love Juliana's characters she really knows how to make the story flow any book you pick up of hers your not gonna be able to put back down can not wait for the next installment
I really loved this story. The way the fights between Rey & Erin, fighting for their love & trying to have an everyday life at the school. I'm glad they both took the plunge & finally made it their mission to love one another! Bring on book #4, I can't wait!!

Ooohhhh Erin & Rey’s story is so full of twists I didn’t see coming! absolutely loved every words. Cannot wait for more from this awesome Author. Recommend to all.
Woah, this book is the halfway point in the Rite World: Blackthorn Hunters Academy series. Erin has been outed as a half-demon and now must fight through prejudice and severe bullying. The soulbond is now known by Erin, but Rey is still distancing himself and acting as if he doesn't want it. Rey has his reasons though, he thinks Erin will be better off without him, and in the background, he is being blackmailed about Erin's safety. But will the pair of them make a mistake, and decide to break the soulbond even though neither of them really want it to happen, and the only reason they are willing to go through it is that they each think it will be better for the other person's happiness.
If you thought the relationship between Rey and Erin was frustrating in the last book just wait until you go through this one. It will send you through a whirlwind of emotions. From dealing pity for the two to screaming at their ignorance and stupidity. To even hating them a little bit because they are both too full of fear to really speak up and express their feelings to one another.
In some ways I loved this book— fast paced magic, huge battle, plot twists I didn’t see coming in the middle of the book…
In some ways I hated it. All regarding the relationship between Rey and Erin— their decision to do something life changing was something SO stupid and could have easily been avoided with communication but instead they act like they are 15 in their first ever relationship… not adults.
**SPOILERS START HERE**
Not to mention at the end when they finally admitted their feelings and had sex, it was written so quick and poorly 1. I felt no excitement or tension release when they got together 2. I was disappointed that the past two & 4/5 of the book series led up to their relationship, and yet their feelings and this special moment between the two of them got two pages, not even. Huge disappointment.
So much back and forth with Erin and Rey fighting their feelings for each other. This book focussed a lot on this and I got a bit bored hoping Rey would make a decision and stick to it. Man up already rather than leading her on and breaking her heart over and over again. This book lacked the anticipation of the other books and I was disappointed about the soul bond but that is just my opinion.
This was a 3.75 ⭐️ read. It was very fast paced and storyline flowed from the previous book in the series. However some things in the book felt repetitive or redundant to where it was like Deja vu. I also think that some of the side characters should have had more moments with the main characters in this book; but overall a good read and continuation of the series.
The connection between the characters felt raw and fated, like something deeper than love something written in their souls. I loved the mix of emotion, danger, and magic woven through every chapter. It’s a beautiful, heart-tugging story about destiny, pain, and the kind of bond that refuses to break, no matter the odds.
For a while there I was getting tired of the back and forth between the main characters and I do not like what the ended up doing and regretting. Got to admit though, this is getting even more interesting and I can't wait to see what happens next
New friendships are formed but old ones lost. Evil is rampant and disgusting rituals are discovered. Many are manipulated and lies abound in this third installment.
Finally Rey stopped being an idiot!! Too bad it happened after the mark was removed but he did it. Now Crimson... I cant wait to see what happened next.
The drama in this series is over the top and I take a break from it. It's crazy drama and would put me into a bit of a dark mood but it's also a bit addictive so I keep going back to it.
The back and forth in this book is toxic. I hate that a problem arises and they have a easy fix less then a page later and a lot seems like it was taken from other books.
