Mixed Emotions: Sixteen stories exploring every human emotion

Rate this book
This collection of simply-told, compelling stories is a vivid kaleidoscope of scenes from life. Sometimes heart-warming, sometimes poignant, always told with passion and compassion, these tales mine a rich seam of human experience. They often probe social issues.
Some are parts borrowed from John Needham's full length novels and some are stand-alone short stories.
They are tales of the seasons of the year; stories from the seasons of life. Stories covering the full gamut of human emotion. They are tales of people of the present and people from the past playing out life’s dramas, major or minor, with consequences shallow or profound.
An un-named black girl finds awakening of love in her barren life. A writer reminisces about recent events in recollections bitter-sweet. An old man speaks tenderly and nostalgically to the wife who is no longer with him. A new mother talks to her new-born baby, wishing him good luck, wisdom and happiness. These are examples of the themes of sixteen stories that will tug the heart strings or sometimes make you smile. And sometimes too, perhaps, they might provoke another sort of smile: a wry, nostalgic one of remembrance.
