Never Say Goodbye is the second book in the Unfailing Love Series by Mandi Blake. I absolutely loved this book and the characters, Lindsey and Dakota. I liked how the author touches on two different topics 1) alcoholism/binge drinking and 2) leaving home. I do wish that the author focused more on the alcoholism than leaving home but other than that this story is very well written. I can't wait for the third book in the series!

*I was given a free copy of this book by the author and this is my honest opinion.

It wasn’t as good as the first one, but it still wasn’t bad. I would give it more of a 3.5 star.

Lindsey Payne returns to her hometown where she must face the man whose heart she broke when she moved away to pursue her dreams. This sweet story is about forgiveness, second chances at love, and having faith in God. The author brings Carson, GA to life with her beautiful descriptions of the country landscape. This heartwarming book was an easy read that I finished within two days. It’s easy to relate to Lindsey as she reconciles the sacrifices she made for dreams that no longer dazzle her. Mandi Blake’s Never Say Goodbye is Book #2 in the Unfailing Love series, but can be read as a stand-alone story. Having now read both Book #1 and Book #2, I can’t wait to learn more about the characters’ friend group as this collection continues!

This is a wonderfully written inspirational novel about second chances. It's a beautiful heartwarming story about how when you fully turn your life over to God, He will work every thing out in His way and in His time. The author makes the story come to life with her words. You can feel all the emotions and see all the scenery. Even though this is book two, it can be read as a stand alone.

A highly emotionally charged love story. A love story full of regrets and mistakes made and of losing a one and only first love, one that neither of them ever recovered from. To finally getting the ending they both deserved.
Quite a drawn out story and it left me emotionally exhausted.

I received this from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own

You can come home again

Welcome back to Carson GA and the story of Dakota and Lindsey. Lindsey walked away from Dakota to follow her dreams in New York city but it didn't turn out as she planned. Eight years later, she returned to her home town because her best friend is having a baby. She is looking for the hotel and almost runs Dakota over. And so the story begins. I really enjoyed the clean romance with a hint of action. I also really enjoyed the lesson that coming home is a spiritual journey as well as we return to God as we repent and remember who we are. I liked the connection to other characters we met in book one and I look forward to seeing the other characters find their love as well in future books.
I also had the opportunity to listen to the book, the narrator does a great job staying true to a southern accent. I found some phrasing frustrating when a sentence would go up in tone as if asking a question, but that may be a regional difference in speech. A good story I can recommend to anyone.

This audiobook of the second story in the series gives us Lindsey Payne and Dakota Calhoun.
Lindsey left her hometown for the lights and the luring of the big city of New York. But life didn’t turn as expected and she’s returned home.
Dakota has a history with Lindsey. But old hurts and the past might not be something either can overcome.
This is a touching story of the possibility of second chances.
As I tend to feel with audiobooks, they bring the story to life in a brilliant manner.
I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expresses are solely my own.

This is a great book. I received an audible from the author who asked nothing of me but to listen to it. This is my honest opinion. Great story of second chances. Not only coming back to their true love, but also back to her Heavenly Father and learning to forgive. I love that the story didn't end when they got back together. All of the pieces came together and made the story whole. Great writing, Mandi Blake. This is worth the read or listen.

Lindsey is back for a visit but can she avoid Dakota and does she really want to? Loved these two and was so glad they finally really talked. My heart broke for them both. Sissy was a hoot!!! A romance but also a bit of a suspense toward the end. Forgiveness extended to more than one person. The narrator did a great job of switching between voices and making me feel like I was there.

When I first read Mandi's debut novel, and the first novel in the Unfailing Love series, I found myself completely entranced in Addie and Declan's story. Their journey was turbulent, emotional, and faith filled, and I could barely bring myself to put the book down. However, throughout the entire story, I had such a soft spot for Dakota's character. I wanted to know what had driven him to the place he was currently in, and who the woman was who'd broken his heart so completely. When I found out that the second book in the Unfailing Love series was going to be Dakota's story, I literally couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I knew that it was going to be a roller coaster of a ride from start to finish, and I couldn't wait to dive right in.

Dakota and Lindsey were inseparable growing up. First connected from Lindsey being best friends with Dakot'a's little sister, Sissy, the two soon grew into the best of friends, and that gradually turned into something much more. Where one went, the other was soon to follow, and Dakota knew without a doubt that Lindsey was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Lindsey however, was desperate for a chance to try and make it on her own. She dreamed of a life in the glamorous acting world of New York City, and Dakota encouraged her to try and live her dream. Soon the long distance became too much, and Lindsey broke it off with Dakota, and in the process, crushed his heart and turned him into someone unrecognizable to his friends and family. Not knowing how to cope with the extreme grief Lindsey's departure from his life has left him, Dakota ended up turning to unsavory means to try and cope, and has become ashamed of the life he's turned to living.

Six long years have passed since Dakota and Lindsey have spoken to each other, but all that's about to change. Sissy is about to give birth to her first child, and wants her best friend to be there by her side. Lindsey's return pushes her back into Dakota's path, and both of them are forced to come to terms with the fact that they've never truly moved on from each other, nor have they ever truly wanted to.

Their relationship has been filled with hurt, misunderstandings, and turmoil, but both are determined to give their love a second chance to grow. God has given them a second chance at finding each other, and it's an opportunity that neither intends to take lightly. However, is it truly possible to move on from such hurt, and to find healing after such brokenness? Dakota and Lindsey are about to find out, and about to experience the truth that without God's healing hand upon every direction, life can never be completely fulfilling.

Once again, I was completely blown away with just how talented of a story teller Mandi Blake is. The plot twists and turns and weaves, and takes the reader along for an amazing, heartfelt journey. Just when I thought I knew where the plot was headed, the last few chapters came along and shattered every single expectation I had. I also have to applaud this amazing lady for always putting the faith element at the forefront, and it never being left in the background. When you pick up a book by this author, the faith element is always going to be front and center, and I couldn't appreciate that more.

As much as I loved Declan and Addie's story, I can say without a doubt that I enjoyed Dakota and Lindsey's even more. This book has a little bit of everything; a second chance romance, hurting and healing, faith, friendship, a hero and heroine you can truly root for, and an underlying bit of suspense that'll definitely keep each and every reader on the edge of their seat.

This one gets a perfect five star rating from me, and I can't wait to see what else Mandi Blake has in store for us readers of her Unfailing Love series. I highly recommend picking yourself up a copy of this one, as I can guarantee you won't be disappointed! I will be anxiously anticipating the day when Mandi reveals who's story we're getting in the third installment of this series!

Thanks so much to Mandi for providing me with a complimentary copy of her novel to read and review!

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own. I was not required to give a positive review.

Lindsey left New York City she had a big career, now she is returning to Georgia. Is she making the right move to go back home? Dakota is having a hard time with the past and his love of Lindsey, and currently he is not in good shape. Can Lindsey and Dakota reconcile what they want for their careers and each other and make a go of it together? This is the second book in the unfailing love series. Really enjoyed this book, looking forward to book three.

Loved this angsty, emotional second-chance romance.

Dakota was an interesting character in book 1 of the series. Dark and brooding, a minimalist in conversation... just the type of character I love to know more about. And boy, his story didn't disappoint.

This novel was emotionally-charged from the first scene through to the end. I loved Dakota, and I ended up loving Lindsey too. And Sissy and Lydia! 😍

I could also see the growth Ms Blake has between writing book 1 and 2... such a pleasure to see those types of changes.

A book about redemption and forgiveness, a book about second chances. Never Say Goodbye is the second book in Mandi Blake’s Unfailing Love series. Never Say Goodbye was just as good as the first book and it was so touching. It wasn’t all sunshine and flowers, but Lindsey and Dakota worked hard at their relationship.
Lindsey Payne left her small hometown, six years ago with big dreams. But now she is returning to Georgia with regrets, she is hoping to stay away from those she’s wronged. Dakota Calhoun fills his days with work, he doesn't want to dwell on the past of the mistakes he has made. However when the ghosts of his past return back into his life, things get harder, more complicated and dangerous. Dakota and Lindsey have a past full of memories, but will they ever have a future together if they can’t get over old wounds? Will they be able to forgive each other and overcome the past, so that they could have the future they always wanted?
I really liked Never Say Goodbye, the characters felt relatable. Lindsey had made the decision to leave home and she never looked back. But now that she is back, she is wishing that she had never left. I felt bad for Lindsey, she wanted to make things right, but she was afraid. I liked how Lindsey tried her best to mend her relationships with people and with God. She was fearless in that sense. However, a lot has happened in the last six years, and it may take a while before things start to get back together.
Dakota was a piece of work, I liked him from the first book but I knew that he had his issues. Although he was struggling to control his anger and his need to drown the world out, he still cared for his sister and friends. He was a good brother and friend. I loved his interactions with Sissy and with his niece, they were so sweet. Dakota had to work through years of hurt and learn to turn back to God, giving God his anger.
Dakota and Lindsey had to work through their past. They had to figure out if they are able to forgive each other for what happened years ago, when they broke up. I liked how they both learned to trust God and turn to him for help. I also liked how their relationship grew and matured, they learned to forgive and forget. But not everything is peaceful in this small town, will Dakota and Lindsey be able to mend their wounds before something terrible happens?
Never Say Goodbye was an amazing book! I really liked everything about it. Dakota and Lindsey had real struggles, but they learned to trust God. Their faith felt real and not fake. I would definitely recommend this book, I read it in one day! Never Say Goodbye is a clean, Christian, contemporary romance.

Just finished this sweet story about second chances. Isn't it wonderful that God gives us many 2nd chances?
I love the way God works things in His own timing not ours. Sometimes we may think it's forever or even longer than it seems but this story has a great ending!
I love how the author has portrayed jealousy. That is our worst enemy!!
Sometimes what we think is love is not how it's supposed to be. Some people just have a hard time showing their love or even saying it and without even realizing it they've damaged the other person.
But, there is One who loves us no matter what we do or how much we Sin. Our Father in heaven.
Sometimes it takes time to grow up and others are just not ready for commitment. I think if we're meant for that person God will see us through and that is the sweetest love there is. Oh so worth waiting for!!
Forgiveness is in this story too. I like that part even better!!
And take a guess who my favorite character was? Little Lydia!!
Such a sweet baby!! I could just picture her in her mama's arms with not a care in the world! Wouldn't life be so much better if we were all like that!!
Next come Lindsey and Dakota. I want a relationship like that and in a way, mine is like that.
Yes, we have our disagreements but doesn't everyone?
I am also blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my Lord Jesus Christ.
I received a complimentary copy of this book with no compensations received. All opinions are my own!!

First, I want to thank Mandi Blake for providing me this book so I can bring you this review.

Never Say Goodbye is the perfect title for Mandi Blake’s continuing sweet story in the Unfailing Love Series. I must admit I do have Bon Jovi’s song stuck in my head. Mandi tugged on my heart strings many of times in this book. Then again, she did with the last book too. This is one of the things I love about her writing-she touches your heart with her words.

In this book you see familiar faces and get updates on their characters like Dakota, Declan, Sissy, Tyler, Lindsay, etc.

Mandi does bring up a few very important issues in this book. One being spinning out of control with alcoholism. Plus, how it affects everyone around you that you love. It is also about finding it in your heart to forgive.

I absolutely love how Mandi says in her note from the author that real people are full of scars. It is only fitting that the characters we read in books have the same. I think that is what draws me to the different books I choose to read. I don’t want them to be perfect as I am not.

Addie’s past story was totally intense and my heart went out to her. I am glad that she now has Declan.

I am a huge Mandi Blake fan and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I always know when I read a Mandi Blake novel that I’m going to be in for a really sweet romance with likable characters, both main and secondary, with some sort of surprise tension, and it will be set in a wonderful location. Never Say Goodbye is exactly that and It’s a second chance romance, which is one of my favorite tropes!

I really liked both Lindsey and Dakota and how quickly they got back together once Lindsey came back to town. I loved that the story focused on the growth of their relationship. I also enjoyed getting to know some of the secondary characters better, which makes me look forward to reading their stories. I am especially looking forward to reading Sissy and Tyler’s story!

I listened to this story and the narrator is fantastic. She really added personality to each character. If you are looking for a sweet romance with likable characters all around, this is the story for you!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own. The faith thread is light.

I just finished , oh my gosh , it so good ! What a beautiful message about our relationship with god that you worked into a beautiful romance .2nd chance romance with so much more . Took their broken hearts and under god’s direction brought peace , love , and forgiveness. It’s never too late to come home again and by home , “I mean to a loving Heavenly Father “ , because without him we can never have peace with anyone or ourselves.
Great job !
This book has it all ! The book draws the reader in and it’s a hard book to put down .
Thank you , for writing amazing books . God bless you . ❤️

This was a good read. I liked the faith aspect, especially the repenting and getting right with God. It would have been better if Dakota had also done the same thing, especially with his binge drinking. Lindsey still needs to grow up and find out that the world doesn't revolve around her. Overall, it's a good story about going home again, and that things will work out if you let God have control, and stop trying to manipulate everything yourself.

I received a free copy of this book, and was not obligated to leave a review. This is my opinion of the book.

The words goodbye never left their lips and never ended their story. Wanting to get out of the small town she never felt apart of because it wasn't enough, she leaves the boy that was supposed to be her forever. The story of putting self and worldly desires before God is one that can be so many peoples story and here the author does a great job of not being preachy but getting the message across loud and clear. She didn't realize what she had left and being ashamed of how much and who she left out of her decision weigh heavily. A beautiful second chance story with all the feels.

Another charming read from Mandi Blake!
I have come to expect that special something from this author. I expect to be drawn into the story, I expect romance, I expect a story that is endearing and so sweet. And this author delivers again. I enjoyed this tale of second chances and new beginnings. Dakota was just such a sweetheart, I really rooted for him after he had been hurt so deeply.
I didn't expect that kind of climax and it surprised me because the rest of the book didn't give me that vibe, but I enjoyed it.

Reunited

Lindsey left town six years ago with big dreams and she left her one true love behind. She's back now and realized what she did. Dakota was that true love and he is struggling, he has alcohol issues his friends and family deal with and help him. Can Dakota and Lindsey work it out? This is a great series.

Mandi Blake's Never Say Goodbye is an inspirational romance set in rural Georgia. This is the second book in a series, but could definitely be read as a stand alone. I enjoyed it so much that I read it in two days. It is a sweet book on forgiveness and second chances. I have fallen in love with these characters and look forward to the next installment in the series.

This is my first book by this author and it will not be the last. This was such a touching story of regrets, friendships, love, loyalty and God. It was great getting to know Lindsay and Dakota. Both have past that they will have to deal with before they can contemplate a future with each other again. I enjoyed how God’s love for us was woven into their story.

I received this book from the publisher and the opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I was quickly drawn into the story, and the property on which Dakota built his house and barn was described so well that I could picture myself being there. I encourage you to try Book 1 - Just As I Am as well. It is not necessary in order to enjoy this book, but does help explain the backstory to a few characters in the group of friends. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because I felt the characters took too long to.open up and be honest with each other about their feelings.

Fabulous read!

Mandi Blake! GOD BLESS YOU! I LOVE your books. First, they are christian romance, Second, very very interesting, hooked right from the first chapter. Third, has a little bit of action, or better still, suspense-filled. And fourth, keeps you longing for more. This is the second book of yours that I have read, so worth reading your books. Thank you for a GREAT job done. May the Lord bless you as you honor Him in your stories.

This was another great story about Dakota and Lindsey. They had done to school together and they were in love. Lindsey wanted to go to New York to after graduation to be an actress. Dakota feeling left out an depressed. This went on for several years, until on e day Lindsey returned home to Carson because Sissy was having her first baby. She was Dakota’s sister. Dakota was not going to let her leave town again if he could help it.

Another story about overcoming obstacles on the road to forgiveness. It take Lindsey a long time to forgive herself for the hurt she thinks she's caused by leaving to pursue her dreams. It take Dakota an equally long time to forgive himself for the reactions he had to her leaving. A clean romance with emphasis on forgiving yourself and others. Is a lovely story and I highly recommend it!
