Parents will find many sound ideas here, whether they are bringing home their first baby or adding a new member to a growing family. Subjects discussed include bringing baby home, bathing an infant, coping with crying, establishing feeding and sleeping schedules, and keeping sane in the face of these many new responsibilities. Titles in the brand-new Darn Good Advice series are bright, cheerfully illustrated, idea-packed guides for brides-to-be, moms-to-be, and parents of growing children. The books feature humorous cartoon-style illustrations, quick-check sidebars, and, of course, solid advice on life's domestic adventures, from engagement and marriage through having and raising kids. Darned Good Advice books are fast-read, must-have titles filled with answers to virtually every domestic, practical, and etiquette-based question. They also offer trouble-shooting tips on avoiding problems before they happen.
um... not such fantastic advice. in fact, very traditional and not very useful. change baby's diaper regularly, feed baby when hungry, don't drop baby on head. if you need a book to tell you these things, you shouldn't be having a baby.
Contains the most basic how-to's which were plain common sense. The later chapters offered more helpful quick tips though for an anticipative mom to a 4-month infant.
This is my favorite parenting book. It isn't judgmental about your styles. You can read sections at a time. It helps me with little things without being preachy.
