She's my best friend's little sister. So I can't touch her. But nobody said anything about looking.
Molly O'Brien is perfect. Sassy mouth with sultry lips. She can't fight me forever. That's what I do for a living, Kick other guy's butts. Take what's mine.
MMA fighting is my way out of the family’s mafia business. And I won't let anything stand in my way. But Molly's letting her guard down. And I’m not afraid of taking a risk. Her brother, my family, her hate of my sport. This is about to get real interesting. Good thing I like a challenge.
Knockout is a fast-paced, steamy romance that will have you cheering and sometimes cursing from the sidelines. Buckle up for a big-hearted alpha athlete/MMA fighter, unforgettable chemistry, and an inside look at Boston’s sexiest mafia family. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a heartwarming, sizzling hot HEA.

3.5 ⭐️ - Pretty cliche best friend’s sister storyline. Had the typical “your brother will kill me so I can’t get involved with you” plot. When the guy doesn’t pull up his big boy undies and have a blunt discussion with the brother / best friend, it always makes the Hero appear weak to me. Therefore it’s probably a “me” thing but I typically struggle with this type of storyline because it’s always done the same way. Therefore, this lacks originality. - I really liked the close knit family bonds - short story (about 130 pages) so not a ton of character growth/development
This was a short quick read that I liked. Molly O'Brien's brother is friends with Owen Doyle. Owen's family is Irish mafia and he is using fighting as his way out. Owen has had a crush on Molly but knows he can't have her since he's friends with her brother. Molly has also had a crush on Owen for years. These two have some hot chemistry between them and the sex scenes were just as hot. What will happen when her brother finds out? This was a good read and my first time reading this author. This was the first book in a new series too me. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I picked up this book in a big box set. I think it's 7 stories total and after reading this first one - I am super excited to continue on!!! These are short books. Probably only took me about 2.5 hours to read. But so perfect to fall right into and finish with a smile!!!
Owen comes from a big irish family, lots of brothers and his best friend...the one who has a sister Molly, and he's had his eye on her for years!!! This story was so sweet and simple - yet swoony and a little alpha!!! ZERO extra drama made for a nice little Boston romance that totally worked and had me hooked!!! I can sense the start of a great little continuation storyline with this Doyle Family and I am all about this binge!!!!

There are references to the Doyle family having been involved in the mafia in the past, but nothing detailed in this story.
Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy adult intimate scenes and violence such as fighting (professional MMA / boxing).
There are a grammatical issues throughout, but nothing difficult to interpret. These included a variety of typos, incorrect, transposed, missing, or extra inserted words. I am trying to mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read as errors interrupt the flow.
The world building is good, especially for a shorter first story in a series. The characters were really brought to life by Sophie Austin and the plot was a very nice pace.
Owen Doyle has worked really hard at staying out of the Irish mafia his family has been involved with in the past. He is a professional MMA fighter and grew up with his Best Friend Sean, Sean’s little sister Molly and their 5 other brothers. Owen has been fighting his attraction and feelings for Molly for years now. When they were still in school, Owen and Sean got into a fight over a girl, and they swore they would never let another female come between them. Owen knows that if he acts on his feelings for her that it will blow everything up for both of them potentially.
Molly is an EMT and she knows first hand what damage can happen to a fighter with just one wrong punch. It happened to one of her older brothers and he has never been the same. She hates fighting and just can’t watch Owen do it. Then the company she works for signed a contract to administer medical treatment after the local bouts. Molly couldn’t help herself and signed up to work one night when she seen Owen’s name on the card.
Fight night arrives and Owen is the last bout of the night. Of course he gets injured, but manages to pull out the win by knocking out his opponent. He is brought to medical and his eyes are swollen almost all the way shut, only to find his long term dream girl and crush working. After everything, he can’t drive himself and Molly agrees to drive him home, which allows them to reconnect for the first time in a while. Before she leaves, she offers to help him in the future if needed.
Owen’s dad has been a central driving force in all his boys lives, but has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He asks Owen to find someone for him, so of course he is going to do everything he can. He finds out that the man died, but left a daughter. Owen finds an address, which unbeknownst to him leads to Molly’s apartment building. Later when he asks a few questions of people he shouldn’t, he get injured again, so he goes to Molly’s place and waits on the porch. Only to be pepper sprayed by her. Now he has a mild concussion, a cut that needs stitches and slightly swollen watery eyes … So of course he has to stay the night, and at 6’ 5” he is too tall to sleep on the couch …
Short quick read. Owen is a fighter in love with his best friend’s little sister. Molly is an EMT who wants to be a doctor. She’s loved him since she was a child. He’s avoided his feelings in deference to his best friend. So cliche. This was billed as an Irish mafia story. And they are Irish, but I don’t see much mafia in the story, other than Owen fighting so as to distance himself from the family business. Quick read. Ok story. Not earth shattering.
Owen and Molly have loved each other for many years. Her brother is his best friend and he doesn't want to destroy his friendship. When she comes to his aide and they get close will they be able to keep their love in check? Or will they let their walls down and face the family?
Book 1 of the Doyle's was easy to read and enjoy. Owen and Molly came from large Irish families and the chemistry was evident even if they felt they couldn't because Owen and Molly's brother Sean were best friends. Can't say much more, spoilers!
Loved molly and Owens story. They’ve known each other their whole lives. Owen is best friends with Sean, Molly’s older brother. So he has always kept molly at a distance out of repeat. But she want a what she wants. And he can’t deny her any longer. Loved this story.
The recipe for a good book!! I love reading about Owen & Molly. Big Irish families & how tight they are. How much love is in them. This really was a beautiful story.
Sweet story of childhood friends being in love forever. I loved Doyle and Molly together and she is so fierce. Glad he gave up the fighting eventually and a beautiful epilogue.
He's a member of a close knit Irish family and is a fighter to raise money for a gym. An interesting first book in series but not much romance or action
I liked the book as a whole but there was one thing throughout it that I didn’t like and that was how something would happen at the end of a chapter and then in the next chapter there would be a time skip of a few days. Like the day after the main characters had sex together for the first time the chapter ended and in the next chapter it was a few days later, another instance was when they were caught sleeping together the chapter ended almost immediately and then in the next chapter the first sentence or so was basically “a few days later” and that happened at the end/beginning of almost every chapter.
The storyline was alright. Although I did love Owen’s devotion to Molly along with his desire to never disappoint her. His joy in giving her everything and anything she wants but mostly just his giddiness in just being able to be with her
I don’t normally like starting a series out of order but I did with this one, absolutely loved it and went back to the beginning. I am so happy I found this author and the Doyle Brothers!! Now for some more!! 🖤🍀🖤
Short second brother's best friend novella. You will get a fast glance at meeting Molly's family ,as well as a glance meeting at Owen's. The book held my attention for the most part. This was a new to me author.
What a wonderful start to a new series, The Doyles.
Coming from a couple of old Irish families, Owen and Molly, grew up together but didn't really see each other until the were older.
This is a wonderfully written romance, that will draw you in with each turn of the page and make you fall in love with each character. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I liked this book. It was a tad slow with the constant back and forth with the feelings but it was spaced out and well written all the way to the end. I enjoyed it.
It has always been them even when they did not know it..............but other people knew!!!
I think I just found my new book boyfriends, yep that is plural. The Doyle brothers are going to be some of my favorites I have a feeling. They are a South Boston Irish family who grew up and live in the same neighborhood. This story is about Molly O'Brien and Owen Doyle. She is the 24 year old younger sister of Owen's best friend since kindergarten, Sean. Molly has had a crush on Owen since she was young and always tagged along with her older brother to be around Owen. He always thought of her as his younger sister, protecting her and beating any and all the made fun of her, until he didn't any more. The story of Molly and Owen is an intricately written story that weaves together family, friends, love, regrets, lust, passion, responsibility, betrayal (no cheating) and so much more. Owen is definitely a hugely overprotective Alpha man, at six feet five inches tall and a successful MMA fighter, who makes it his living, he can go toe to toe with anyone. But he is much more than that underneath as he has a plan for getting out of the fighting and what he will do afterward. Plus he has a huge heart and treats Molly with such gentleness and passion at the same time. All he wants to do is make her happy and stop anyone who doesn't, even if it is himself. Molly is a real firecracker of an Irish lass. She is the youngest child, with all older brothers. She dreams of becoming a doctor but in the meantime she is working as an EMT and going to school for her nursing degree. They both have plans but what they don't anticipate is that their plans for the future will include each other in the most delicious way possible...............as husband and wife with with a brood of kids spilling out of the house.
Knockout is the debut novel by Sophie Austin and she has done an awesome job of writing a thoroughly entertaining and fascinating story with well developed characters and an intelligent story-line. There is definitely so Hot, Hot, Hot sexy scenes besides everything else. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the Doyle brother's stories and seeing what women capture their hearts and minds.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
