Ever Lost
I made a huge mistake.
No, not breaking into Panchard Enterprises, I did that on purpose. It was the getting caught part that changed everything. Instead of prison, Peter Panchard offers me a deal; steal something for him and he’ll help me find my little sister.
Now I’m at Neverly Prep wearing a uniform and trying to get close to Lucas Hook, the guy whose safe I need to crack. Did I mention the car and mansion and black card that goes along with this deal? Or the three boys so damned good looking it should be illegal?
They are the Lost Boys and they definitely don’t want me intruding into their lives. Something's going on and I’m sure it has to do with their missing mother, Wendi. Peter warns me to stay away from his boys, to do what I'm being paid for, but at every turn, the sparks fly between us.
I have a job to do and a sister to find, and getting involved with three guys who are off limits is a bad idea. Especially when Hook is their enemy. But when has a little forbidden ever stopped me?

- it's not a bully romance.
- it isn't exactly a Peter Pan retelling; only the names of characters come from JM Barrie.
- it's not your average rich-boy-poor-girl love story.
Ever Lost is basically what you'd get if Paper Princess snuck its way into the RH genre and, in the process, matured a little. I actually like this series better than the Royals.
The plot centers on Ever, a teenager who is hired by a tech giant to break into his rival's house and steal from him. In the process, she lives in his house with his three teenage sons, all of whom are classically hot with some serious attitude issues. She attends their prep school, where these boys are considered teen royalty. Drama, misunderstanding, and sweet sweet romance ensues.
Here's why I like this series better than the Royals series.
1. The heroes: all of them grew up under tough conditions and ended up in the foster system, just like the heroine. Unlike Ever, they were lucky enough to be adopted by their kind-hearted (and filthy rich) mom. This background gives the boys some depth - they're not just spoiled assholes, they're damaged individuals with trust issues - and it makes the love story with Ever much more satisfying. They're all broken pieces fitting together in the right way. It's very sweet.
2. The portrayal of women: the author doesn't fall back on the tired (and sexist) "trash whore" trope with her minor female characters. Ever's problems are either internal or created by motivated and fleshed-out villains, not by a horde of bitchy sex-demons like in most academy stories. I'm so damn happy about this omission I could cry.
3. Morally gray characters: there's no black-and-white, us vs. them mentality when it comes to the heroes and villains in this story. Most characters have both redeeming and destructive traits that are consistently demonstrated, with consequences, throughout the series. I'm talking about Ry's anger issues or Trey's treatment of Mer. The villains have a good side and the heroes have a bad side, just as all humans do.
Yes, there is a lot of OTT drama in the plot, but because I got so invested in the lovely main characters, I was hooked by the misunderstandings and the angst. I wanted them to get their HEA so badly that I devoured the whole series in a day, drama and all.

If you are too lazy to read all of the rant, spoiler alert: I do recommend the book in the end.
1. Puberty is a bitch;
2. Kids don't grow on trees;
3. Sexual assault is not hot.
Ever Lost is both my jam and everything I cannot stand; a Paper Princess kind of story, with so many misunderstandings to build a house.
The thing is, I am not patient enough do deal with the frustration of these new adult contemporary romances featuring teenagers. Maybe I've grown old or maybe I just could have never connected with the characters. To me, their actions or thoughts makes no sense and I do not understand why they would make their lives harder than they (already?) are.
Because that is what they do. Angst, misunderstanding, lack of communication, … There is an epidemic of selfishness in Ever Lost and each and everyone of the book's characters just forget they are not alone in the universe; their actions are not only toxic to others, but to themselves too.
But most of all, I find it hard to believe that Peter Pan(chard), the only grown up character -oh the irony- happens to be the less credible of the lot. We get no clue on what he is hiding and it makes him a terrible and awful add to the cast, completely casting aside any responsible parental figure. Once again, we end up with kids that make the law and nobody to care for them but to pay for their fancy car.
I know, I know, parents are such a bother, but even rich kids happen to have some.
Another problem that I had with the book is that, for a reverse harem, it was really too focused on one of the love interest -and not the one I appreciate the most.
From the very beginning it was obvious that Riot and Ever were wrong to and for each other and I had too many Brayshaw's vibes for my sanity. I strongly believe the other two lost boys are the only to balance a somewhat healthy relationship. That being said, I was very glad when the author finally started to divide the attention between love interests. Who wouldn't want to be team Baz, anyway.
Regardless of all the ranting, I did enjoy the book. Ever Lost is a -very- fast burn, impossible to put down and I got hooked -ha ha- to the story despite all the eye rolls. I enjoyed it and I really want to see what will be the next step and what to do with Trey.

Buddy Read with the RHR
Academy is still not getting old for me. This was a 3.5 and a good start that makes me want to continue on. Which is saying something considering how many Academy types there is to choose from right now.
It has everything you’d expect
✅ FMC with a history of abuse
✅ Broken but still has a bit of an attitude
✅ Teenage guys with impossible abs
✅ Hint of the bullying trend without actually going into a full bullymance
✅ uniforms that would never exist in real life
✅ Poor kid introduced to high life
What makes this one stand out a little from the crowd is the ties with Peter Pan and Neverland characters. They are in name only though, it’s contemporary so don’t expect any fairies to be appearing.
I know - who doesn’t love a little sprinkling of fairy dust - sorry
The other little unique thing I liked was the dirt bikes. It made a change from the usual sports and it does make the guys that little bit sexier in my opinion!
Ever Darlington has just turned 18 and come out the foster system, we meet her being questioned by Peter Panchard after she breaks into one of his facilities. She’s given the choice of working for him and attending Neverly Prep school or going to jail. She’s not stupid to takes the first offer. Ever has a mission of her own and needs something from him too. Living with Peter is where she meets her Lost Boys.
The downsides for me were the relationships with the Lost Boys. They needed a bit more build up to be believable. Ever has been abused and suffers from PTSD when it comes to men invading her space. This completely goes out the window with the 3 Lost Boys.
The instant trust and connection they have is just too fast for someone with a history of abuse. I’d have liked for a slower burn and some trust building before the heat began. It also focuses heavily on one guy. Maybe the others will get their time in the spotlight but this one was Riot heavy. X just didn’t want to be left out rather than have any real connection with Ever on his own.
Ever herself is a mix of false bravado and sassy. She talks the talk and has a backbone but crumples easily. I can’t make out if she’s hard or soft? Does she need protecting or not?
There’s a lot of character development needed and hopefully that will come in the sequels!
Its short but entertaining and kept me up at night reading under the covers. However when you look closely there’s something missing and it needs a little more to reach that 4 stars.

I love this book! It's a fantastic start to a new series.
The characters and the world building are both awesome; they draw you in. Then the plot keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more.

Eva is stereotype broken angsty foster system teenager. she up and fu*ked up and now her sister "tink" is not with her and she doesn't have any visiting/social rights to see her. enter peter saving her day, BUT he makes her a deal which ultimately may be the one thing standing in her way of her own happiness, and getting her sister back.

Buddy read with the cake eaters of RHR.
Loved the cover. The formatting did my head in and had to change kindle screen settings. As for the story, I dunno. It had his moments both good and bad.
Ever (strange name) comes across as a strong prickly character but super spy/thief she is not. She’s also a teenager with insecurities, past trauma and hormones.
Then there are the Lost boys X, Baz and Riot. Can’t really say much about the first two as the story mainly focuses on Riot. But they are young, going through puberty and at the moment I don’t see a lick of maturity between them. The story I would say borders on being a bully romance. First impressions count, they can see she’s scarred and vulnerable but still act like pricks. I get that they’re grieving but damn. Riot needs a lesson in sexual harassment and not practicing being a creepy ninja. Simply put, they are brats.
Peter Pan(chard) was disgusting. I’m pretty sure prison would’ve been simpler.

I had so much hope for this story. It's sad. So illogical, so childish and so, so unnecessary horny.
70% of conversations are about sex, fucking, how hot the guys are, how weak at the knees everyone for them or how they want them to 'wear' someone. Like.... plotline? Hello? Are you there? Weren't we looking for our sister, weren't there some plan for some stupid timepiece? (Which is ridiculous by the way, both the plan and the thing she is looking for)
The plan....if Peter planned for her to get close with Luc, why would he bring her to his family? Wouldn't it make everything more complicated? It would! Because they hate each other! But it so convenient to have her in his house with 3 teenage sons! Totally makes sense! Oh, and they can't know about the plan! Another reason to put them in one house!! Where is logic? There is none!
How little does she care about Belle? We are supposed to be worried about her, right? Then why 90% of our brain is thinking about getting it? Who thought this is the best way to write off a worried big sister? Not me.
Is it RH? I only see Riot. And I don't even like him. He is a 'Growl' without personality and respect towards women. Where is X? Baz? You sure it's RH? Oh wait, we are supposed to think about the sister she lost and her mission! Not about which duck she will jump first! Right!
Right? Because the 'plotline' lasted for the last 5% of the book and it wasn't even good.
And now someone has blackmail on her? Shitty one by the way. In my mind she should have taken the timepiece and be long gone, not go along with whatever because it is convenient for the writer of the book. Arghhhh no logic.
Anyway. Book for me looked something along the way of this:

• only like 5% of plotline everything else is lusting over guys, sorry, over Riot.

This book was such a disappointing read.
I enjoyed the beginning of this book and hoped it would continue to get better as I read more, but the more information you get, the less this book makes sense. Or what little information you do get, I should say.
There wasn’t a whole lot this book had going for it. It was a fast, easy read, and the grammatical errors were mostly kept to a minimum (though when they did appear, they were bad ones). And the one intimate scene that made it into the novel was actually pretty hot. Sadly, that’s all the good I have to say about it, as the bad far outweighed the good.
➜The world building was disorienting. Is this a Peter Pan retelling or not? Because the character names and situations coincide too perfectly to have Peter Pan exist as a fairytale within the world itself, yet somehow it still does. Are the book characters the embodiment of the fairytale characters and just don’t know it yet? That would have been an interesting plot point if the author had tried to explore it even a little bit.
➜It took place in high school for no real discernable reason, and the author didn’t write it in a way that made me want to overlook my misgivings. All the characters read as though they are older than high school age, and a few easy adjustments to the plot would have made it much more realistic.
➜The dirt bikes and racing had no real place in the plot. It was just a weird filler that the author placed into the novel to make the guys cooler, I guess? There was a small attempt to add tension between the antagonist and the heroes with it, but it wasn’t effective. Oh, and of course the best one at racing is the author’s favorite hero (and if you’ve read the book you know who I’m taking about).
➜The book was terribly lopsided in terms of heroes. There were three (which is my preference in RH novels), but there was an obvious hierarchy when it came to author preference, with one getting almost all of the screen time.
➜It was confusing because there was no groundwork laid for a reverse harem. It just kind of…happens. There is no backstory about a previous poly relationship between the guys, or even a conversation about how they work better as a group than a traditional relationship. Ry makes one comment about how he’s ok with sharing, but there’s never really a conversation about it. The heroine never even stops to consider that she’s in a poly relationship, she just goes with it. It literally never registers.
➜The relationship itself was a mess. The guys turn a 180 so many times they had to have whiplash. They start off hating the heroine for no identifiable reason, basically overnight decide that she’s perfect for all of them, then after a three-day relationship determine that she has betrayed them irreparably and should be bullied by the entire school for her crime. I couldn’t keep up with it. Their moods swung faster than a pendulum. I almost laughed when, 84% into the book, the heroine asks one of the guys why he would be willing to give up so much for her and says “You’ve known me for a week.” Literally my thoughts exactly.
➜Peter’s character made absolutely no sense. He alternates between Big Dick energy and being pitiful and weak. I have no idea whether he’s a good guy or a bad guy, but not in an intentional, plot-building kind of way. His changes in character coincide with what the author needs for the plot at that moment in time.
➜Which leads me to the plot, which was all over the place. It was barely fleshed out. We never find out why Ever is good at breaking and entering, or how she does it, or the reason behind Wendi’s disappearance (which is never explicitly stated but left for the reader to figure out), why or how the boys were adopted, why the time piece is important, and…you get the picture. Ever constantly wonders about the mystery behind Wendi’s disappearance and how she knows nothing about it, but never at any point realizes that she can literally google and find out more.
But worst of all, the plot loses all plausibility when it completely neglects to discuss the actual breaking and entering process for stealing the time piece. The security of the Hook house is never mentioned, or why it needs to be stolen in the manner that Peter has chosen.
Ever puts literally no effort into getting into the office to steal the time piece, which is fine because there was apparently no security to speak of anyway, and she can barely remember the code that Peter gave her to open the safe. Best of all, Peter, a multibillionaire who already has the code to this safe, somehow needs Ever to steal the time piece contained within it and is unable to hire professional help to do so instead.
I just…at this point, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. The plot was weaker than an osteoporotic hip, and fell apart faster than a coffee crumb cake. What was it all for? This book didn’t answer a single question and hinged on Ever, an eighteen-year-old dropout who can’t even remember the password to the safe when it was given to her, somehow being the only one able to break into this house that has literally no security. What????
To top off the entire escapade, the plot for the second novel was set up right at the end, and it promises to be just as stupid as the plot for this book.
I have zero interest in reading the second book in this series, and I very much do not recommend it.
I enjoyed the beginning of this book and hoped it would continue to get better as I read more, but the more information you get, the less this book makes sense. Or what little information you do get, I should say.
There wasn’t a whole lot this book had going for it. It was a fast, easy read, and the grammatical errors were mostly kept to a minimum (though when they did appear, they were bad ones). And the one intimate scene that made it into the novel was actually pretty hot. Sadly, that’s all the good I have to say about it, as the bad far outweighed the good.
➜The world building was disorienting. Is this a Peter Pan retelling or not? Because the character names and situations coincide too perfectly to have Peter Pan exist as a fairytale within the world itself, yet somehow it still does. Are the book characters the embodiment of the fairytale characters and just don’t know it yet? That would have been an interesting plot point if the author had tried to explore it even a little bit.
➜It took place in high school for no real discernable reason, and the author didn’t write it in a way that made me want to overlook my misgivings. All the characters read as though they are older than high school age, and a few easy adjustments to the plot would have made it much more realistic.
➜The dirt bikes and racing had no real place in the plot. It was just a weird filler that the author placed into the novel to make the guys cooler, I guess? There was a small attempt to add tension between the antagonist and the heroes with it, but it wasn’t effective. Oh, and of course the best one at racing is the author’s favorite hero (and if you’ve read the book you know who I’m taking about).
➜The book was terribly lopsided in terms of heroes. There were three (which is my preference in RH novels), but there was an obvious hierarchy when it came to author preference, with one getting almost all of the screen time.
➜It was confusing because there was no groundwork laid for a reverse harem. It just kind of…happens. There is no backstory about a previous poly relationship between the guys, or even a conversation about how they work better as a group than a traditional relationship. Ry makes one comment about how he’s ok with sharing, but there’s never really a conversation about it. The heroine never even stops to consider that she’s in a poly relationship, she just goes with it. It literally never registers.

Now down to the book... Lost boys is brilliant. Omg is it brilliant! That ending... my heart is still thundering.
This is one of those books you just can't put down. Fantastic storyline, awesome characters and Reverse Harem that makes you want to combust. All wraped up and written perfectly.
The lost boys are to die for. Ever I love even with her spider web of lies that are spiralling out of control... I'm totally rooting for her, I really hope in the next book things pick up for her and the boys support her....
L.E Bross you are Awesome, your characters are Awesome, your writing is awesome and this book is Devine.
Bring on Augaust............ I seriously have no idea what I'm going to read now because it's gonna have to be good after a book like this.

3.5. Buddy read with the awesome ladies of RHR.
There was lots to like about this book. It was cleanly written and moved at a decent pace. The Lost Boys and Ever had sizzling chemistry and felt genuine.
However, for me personally, there were too many little things that just turn me off a book, which seems unfair to then judge the book against, because those aspects won't bother others.
I'm not a fan of academy books on the whole, so the whole Kings of school, slutty girls aspect was a bit irritating. I didn't like the way the boys tested Ever at the start. There qs absolutely no need and smacked of bully romance, which I cannot personally stand. She also still hot for them, despite being called ugly and being pinned against walls. I also find secret keeping an irritating trope in books, so that turned me off.
I also didn't really see the point of the Peter Pan allusion in the names, as this has nothing to do with any aspect of the story, and felt a bit out of place.
I would still definitely recommend this book, as my issues were personal, rather than the quality of the book.

I’m still on my Reverse Harem bully romance kick so I thought I’d give a new to me author a chance and I’m so glad I did.
L.E Bross just sucked me in and spat me back out again with this hot AF, fast paced Academy story that is loosely based on Peter Pan. (Names, no fantasy here.) I read this book in one sitting.

I loved that all 3 of the boys had different personalities that made them stand out which meant that Ever’s relationship with each of them was different. All 4 of them have bad pasts and demons that they struggle with but when they are together those demons aren’t chasing them as badly.
Lots of secrets and lies, hurt and betrayal and things I can’t figure out! I need the next book now.

Where is the chemistry?
I really wanted to enjoy the book. I like the blurb and the premise. The plot was a bit loose, but I could work with it. I could not, however, work with such underwhelming characters. Ever, for all her bravado, is a weak FMC. She puts on a semi good front, but she gives in to a guy all in her space due to temptation. I did not understand their chemistry at all aside from her and Baz. That made sense, they connected over a shared hurt. X was nothing but a joke. Oh her joins in because the other 2 got to her? Yeah not attractive. Riot had the cliche bad Alpha boy vibe, but was more of an a$$ with little redeemable qualities. We saw nothing to change our ideas of the boys beside Baz's mini background reveal. It was all too hate to like fast burn that you didn't get a great feel for the characters. Oh and what is Trey's story why the animosity? I just felt confused about that tidbit.
Overall I wanted to like the book, but I needed way more character development and romantic chemistry than what little I was given.

I really enjoyed this trilogy and cannot wait for Luc's story. The heroine was as ballsy as can be and it was her spitfire personality that really brought these boys to their knees, but they needed her just as much as she needed them. I loved the suspense aspect of the trilogy and it wasn't overdone like some I have recently read.

Ever Lost was a breath of fresh air I sorely needed after the last book I read. What I enjoyed most about Ever lost was the stories’ ability to keep me captivated cover to cover. Which was a huge relief.
I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book. Truthfully I actually didn’t know Ever Lost was an actual book until I joined a Reverse Harem book group on GoodReads. I AM SO HAPPY TO HAVE READ EVER LOST. Seriously!

Upon reading Ever Lost though, I found that the story is extremely loosely based off of Peter Pan. Which was great, because I don’t really like the whole Peter Pan story anyway.
Ever Lost ended up swooping me off my feet (pun unintended). There wasn’t ever a dull moment in this story. Throughout reading, I was wanting to know more. When I finished reading Ever Lost, I immediately went searching for the sequel, Ever Found; which is not published until sometime in August 2019 (as far as I’m aware).
Ever Lost was a genuinely enjoyable read for me. I loved the insta-lust, and while there’s only a little bit of romance in this first book, it makes me look forward to reading the rest of Lost Boys of Neverly Prep trilogy even more. Slow-burn romance for the wiiiin!
The characters in Ever Lost are not overly complicated, which was great honestly. And the fact that Ever, Riot, X and Baz have similar beginnings, they’re all very different from one another.
I really enjoyed reading Ever Lost (if you couldn’t tell) so I’m giving Ever Lost, 4 stars.

February 16, 2022Just an okay read for me. The guys knew her a week and were in seemingly unbreakable bonds with her...until she agreed to go on a date with Luc. Hated the “I don’t know why but you just fit with us@ excuse. You want to know why she fits? Because he’s an easy and convenient way to move the plot forward, ya filthy animals!
She’s 18. And i don’t know..it just felt yuck to me.
Peter is a d-bag and not given enough page time to be important, even though he is the mastermind of this whole arrangement. Yeaahhh. So, A lot of stuff thrown together in a plot jambalaya and I am not down for the angst for really no reason. These kids don’t know each other well enough for any of these life altering feelings, yet.
Am I being a bitter ole meany? Prolly. I just think a slower burn and more plot twist and turns ...some more background on the disappearances...more mystery....would have made this a lot stronger.

This was, just, wow!
I absolutely loved this book, I couldn't out it down. I really liked the Peter Pan references, that was great. Poor Ever, she seemed to get the short end of the stick through out this book, I do hope it gets better for her in the next one. Witch I can't wait to read by the way.

OMG what a read! Well written and fast paced this super hot RH Peter Pan style academy read just grabs you from the get go and you will definitely not want to put it down! Filled with emotions, mystery and twists and turns and a major cliffhanger, I really need the next book ASAP!

I was hesitant to read this one, but I read some of the reviews and decided to give it a try because so many said it was worth it...
it wasn't.
Ever gets caught trying to break into Pan-something to find information on her sister's whereabouts and the owner, Peter, makes a proposition... she steals something for him and in return he lets her stay in his house, pays for her to go to a fancy school, and he helps her find her sister. After waking up in his house, she discovers that there are 3 other boys/men (whatever) living there and they instantly hate her.
BTW, this is not a "bully romance."
What I Didn't Like:
-the Heroine... she annoyed the crap out of me. Almost everything she did or how she went about everything was annoying to me. She was constantly lying, which I found annoying as hell. I get it she had a job to do and wasn't allowed to tell anyone what she was up to, but she was also lying about stuff that was irrelevant to her "mission." IDK. I didn't like it.
-INSTALOVE - blegh. no joke within 2 weeks of meeting her potential harem, they were all "you complete me." Which I guess is fine (not really) but they hated each other and then all of a sudden they were soulmates...
-the constant staring. I don't know why some authors include this, but it is creepy AF. the H is constantly droning on about how she is watching her harem and the entire time im reading it im internally screaming for her to stop being a damn creep.
-there is so much more that I am sure I didn't like but at about the 50% mark I started skimming just to get to the end to decide if this worth continuing in the series. *Spoiler Alert* Its not.
What I Did Like:
-it was short, so I didn't waste too much time figuring out that its not worth the time to read this book.
-I really appreciated that all the other female characters in the book aside from the MC weren't the typical catty b*tches that usually appear in these books. I mean there are "mean girls," but they aren't like the typical ones we get in these books.
All in all I feel like the whole "Peter Pan" aspect was lost, I don't get the point of any of that other than using the names... maybe it just went over my head or I didn't read enough of it to understand. This was my first ever read/listen from L.E. Bross and I am impressed! The story, the performance of the narrator, it all sucked me end from the very start!

This was my first ever read/listen from L.E. Bross and I am impressed! The story, the performance of the narrator, it all sucked me end from the very start!

This was a fantastic start to a potentially great series. I liked how lost everyone was in this book and how emotive they all were. The mystery plot was not too intricate that you had to pay a lot of attention but strong enough to hold the story together and not make it all about the RH. Ever is an interesting contradiction. On one hand she is loyal, selfless and protective of her sister. Doing everything she can to find her and be with her. And on the other she is a manipulative criminal who will do what she needs to do to that end and tries not to be concerned with who she screws over in the process. The road to hell my friends. This is that kind of story. She is an unwilling victim and I don't know how all the bad guys find ways to blackmail her honestly.
I must admit I wasn't expecting Peter to be a side character in this but I do like where it's headed. The next generation after Peter Pan, Hook and Wendy are in play here and it adds a nice twist to the retelling.
Riot (I swear the names these authors find to make their MMC's stand out is getting a bit ridiculous) is the alpha of the harem. Oldest brother, dark and broody and used to having things done the way he wants them to. He doesn't really have to even ask, everyone wants to please him and it makes him very arrogant. But he does try his best to be the problem solver of the group. He is very protective of everyone in his circle which is kinda cute.
X is the comic relief, easy going and loyal to his brothers.
Baz is the genius. Quiet and unassuming, he seems to think through everything before committing to an action, even if it may go against what Riot may want.
Already starts the next one.

I love a good high school romance and don't mind the occasional reverse harem book. Ever Lost has been on my TBR for a little while and I finally decided to give it a go!
It was actually quite enjoyable!!! The problem I find with a lot of RH books, specially the bully romances, is that they bully the girl and then all of a sudden they are all in love. This wasn't so much a bully book, but the romance came pretty quickly! Although, I found that a little annoying, the storyline was interesting and I did enjoy the characters. It was a slow burn but when the steam came, wooooo it got my heart pounding a little faster! Damn Riot! Plenty of sexual tension that needs to be worked out there! If that is just the start, I cant wait to read the next books ;)
I also found myself constantly comparing this book to Peter Pan because of all the names. But apart from that, it was a good book! I managed to read it in a matter of hours and it ends with a cliffhanger so book 2 here I go!
