Plainwood Lake #2

Blame over Brunch: A Plainwood Lake Mystery

Rate this book
Could a Sunday brunch actually lead to murder?

Kelly and Carlie just got their first real customer: local boat rental mogul Richard Dilafonte. When he asks them to cater a brunch at his mansion the very next day, they jump at the opportunity. But the event takes a dark turn when Richard tumbles off the balcony and falls to his death.

The quirky brunch guests insist his death must have been an accident. But as the denials grow more and more suspicious, Kelly and Carlie aren't content to wait around for the police. And just when they start to think the morning couldn't get any worse, the mimosas go sour, a guest goes missing, and Carlie's alibi goes up in flames.

Will they let the killer get away, or will they risk everything to solve the case?

Is brunch just another word for murder

They are just recovering from solving the last case when they are asked to cater a brunch being hosted by an old family friend. Everything seems to be going well. The mimosa's are rapidly disappearing when the host's body is found. Was it an accident that saw him fall over the balcony wall? Or as suspected by out two bakers was it murder? Fingers start being pointed at everyone. Can the girls sort out the lies to get to the truth? A good plot but unfortunately I had guessed the culprit from the start. However I am finding her fellow baker a bit annoying now. Does she have to be so obnoxious.

Not much of a plot and light on reality.

It was ok, no real plot or logic. Characters are wacky and never do even try to open the bakery, which is the whole reason they are even in this place.
