This was a great second chance at love story. These two characters have a complicated a tragic past that separates them as high school sweethearts.
Eve’s dream has been to be a ballerina, she’s trained everyday of her life but when her mother is sick she left New York and her life behind to care for her and also to recuperate after she’s developed a shin condition. Totally focused on her career and her goal she is shocked when her doctor is none other than the boy who shattered her heart and was her first everything. She wants him even though she knows she shouldn’t but can she really turn away from him and what they could have or is this just a fling for him?
Nate returned to his hometown to take over as a doctor at the Ballet school while he recovers from a back injury. He’s just counting the days till he gets to return to his life in New York as a well respected surgeon. The last person he expected to walk in the examination was the one girl who ever meant anything to him, she’s as perfect as he remembers but could she ever forgive him for vanishing from her life after the love he shared with her and will his mother ever accept her into the family if he chose to stay?
This was a twisty, emotional book filled with a psycho mother, heartache, guilt and two people who love each other enough to let them go. Very enjoyable read and highly recommended. I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book. 4.3 🌟
I’m gonna be honest and say this was kind of all over the place. Aubrey Wright’s books are usually pretty solid with the occasional miss, and this is without a doubt one of those misses. These two former sweethearts jump into bed (or should I say onto the doctor’s exam table) with very little conversation first, have a series of miscommunications, then wind up expecting a child together (as the title indicates). All that adds up to a romance that wasn’t all that satisfying.
The story follows Nate, a doctor returning to his hometown to cover his father’s patients while he recuperates from an injury. Nate left town - and his high school girlfriend - without looking back after a death in the family ten years ago. It isn’t long before he runs into Eve, his former flame, and the sparks fly between them immediately. She’s a ballerina in the middle of a career crisis, and Nate is the doctor assigned to oversee her injury.
Nate broke Eve’s heart 10 years ago, yet somehow she’s willing to overlook that and jeopardize her career for a sexy hookup in the doctor’s office without so much as an explanation or apology first (despite the fact that she hasn’t had sex since he left town). The whole thing didn’t strike me as particularly romantic, and there isn’t much about the story that changed my initial impression. Things remain mostly sexual, and the pacing doesn’t do any favors in building up the relationship. I can definitely see where Wright was trying to go with the story, but the execution wasn’t there. I’ve read much better books by the author so I’m really not sure what happened with this one.

"I ’m a man who knows exactly what he needs and wants. Very rarely do I need to set my own limits. If I want to drink, I drink. If I want to blow money on fast motorcycles, I’ve got the Manhattan Ducati dealership on speed dial. If I want to fuck, I’ll go to the latest hotspot of a club downtown, sweet talk a babe at the bar, and invite her back to my apartment.
Sometimes we don’t even make it farther than the club bathroom.
But Eve is something else entirely. She’s not some random babe."
And of course she REMAINS CELIBATE DURING 10 YEARS! Unfortunately these authors aren't tired of this garbage as we are.
DNF before I even end chapter 3. I'm not in the mood for a manwhore and an idiot woman who is talking about how horny she is after meeting the guy who broke her heart. And this is the lines that convinced me of not spending any time on this book
*I’m technically not lying. It’s just easier to say I’m not seeing anyone than try to explain I’ve actually got several girls who are friends—and they all just so happen to have sex with me. Not all at once, of course, though I’m hoping to live out that fantasy one day. Maybe when I have the time, but we’ll see.*

This was a cute second chance enemies to lovers romance that i really enjoyed reading! Nate and Eve used to be high school sweethearts and after something happened Nate had to leave.
Eve had to go on with life trying to forget about Nate. After years Nate finally returns and see the one person he didn’t want to see .... Eve.
Even though eve might hate nate because he left... when these two meet again instant sparks fly and the chemistry between them is still hot as ever!
This is a good story of finding love again and you will definitely love it! I definitely recommend this
You see I have a problem with stories of how much they used to love each other how one of them breaks the others heart but when they see each other all that goes out of the window and they end up in bed together immediately, what?! No discussing what the hell happened, then you are confused an heart you did this to yourself by not having any self control.

This is the story of Eve and Nate. They dated when they were young but an accident happened and Nate was forced away. Nate is back for awhile helping out at a ballet school where Eve teaches and attends. They reconnect and Eve finds herself pregnant. I have read many books by Aubrey and loved most and not this one. I lived the basis of the story but felt it was lacking in content. I mean the only thing that happened in the whole book was they went on a few dates and got pregnant. That's really the whole book, not that entertaining. The chemistry was definitely forced and so dull. The characters themselves were dull, their conversations were dull, their "alone time" was dull. I skipped so many pages here and there because there so so much unnecessary inner monologue that didnt add anything exciting to the book and should have been left out. I will continue to read her books because I know how good they can be.

When they were younger Nate and Ever secretly met and were together. One time when they were together his mother since his older brother out looking for him and he ended up being hit by a drunk driver and killed. However an injury has her back home taking a break while she heals and she's at a local ballet academy when she runs into Nate. Sparks reignite between them and its like they've never been separated. But can they really be together? What will his family say?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Eve is a ballerina suffering with shints splints when she learns that her ex-boyfriend is temping for her doctor who happens to be his father. Nate never expected to run into Eve while subbing at his father's practice but fate had other plans.
Goo story line. I like the fact that Eve was Asian. The characters were well thought. I loved A-ma and how supportive she was to both main characters.

More Than A Love Story, This Book Is About Tragedy, Family, And Moving On. Finding Happiness And Accepting It. And The Consequences Of Choices.
Doctor Nate Winthrop, twenty-eight, is a man that knows what he wants and has never been denied. If he needs a release, there a several women happy to pleasure him and leave, or he might stop by the latest club and find a new woman at the bar for a no-strings night of sin. With his good looks he is never without a beautiful woman when he chooses to indulge. Sometimes he opts to spend his free time on his hobbies: rebuilding motorcycles and cooking. But as an orthopedic surgeon at New York General Hospital, his free time is severely limited. He rarely has an entire weekend off or a day to himself. Yet he loves his job and his life in New York. A one hour plane ride away from his small hometown of Haven, he isn't reminded of his family or the past. He isn't subjected to his nosy mother's nagging. It is liberating. It has been almost ten years since he has been back, but when his father, Doctor Philip Winthrop, slips in the shower and suffers a back injury, Nate agrees to return to Haven for six weeks to cover for him.
Evangeline Lee, twenty-six, is no longer the quiet, shy sixteen year old girl who gave her virginity to high school sweetheart Nate Winthrop. Committed to ballet, she is pure elegance and confidence. She had sworn off men when Nate left ten years ago. Men came and went - she need only look to her own father to verify that truth. Her Chinese mother, A-Ma, raised her alone, working two jobs, sacrificing her own dreams to ensure Eve wanted for nothing. Even today A-Ma works tirelessly to support Eve's expensive dreams. Back in Haven while recovering from shin splints and caring for her mother, Eve works hard teaching ballet part-time at the Haven Ballet Academy while taking dance classes to stay on top of her game. Her entire life revolves around ballet, and she hopes to get placed in a company after spring auditions. If she can continue to work through the pain of her injury, she should do well.
When Nate and Eve cross paths in Haven, both are surprised discover the intensity of their attraction to one another. Nate, never lacking in his choice of women, experiences insecurity and nerves for the first time. Eve, obsessed with ballet, finds she might have a second obsession. Nate and Eve know whatever they have will end when Nate returns to New York, but they begin to ask themselves how they will walk away. They find comfort and peace with one another, and happiness they hadn't realized was missing in their lives. Before they have the opportunity to have a serious talk, the past explodes and destroys everything.
Nate and Eve's story is much more than a love story. Their love story begins hot and heavy as passion overtakes them. The latter part of the story drags if it isnt understood that their HEA is complicated. Not only do Nate and Eve need to find their way to one another. The past must be faced and healing must take place. Theirs is a story of family and the forgiveness that can only be given from the deep love that comes with family ties. The tears that fall when it all comes together in a beautiful HEA leave you feeling warm and fuzzy.
There are a few issues that may bother some readers. It appears Nate's money comes from his job. Nate left nearly ten years ago, right before high school graduation. Four years of undergrad and four years of medical school puts him in his second year of residency. Even if his parents paid for medical school, he hasn't even collected two years of paychecks, and residents earn roughly $50,000 per year which doesn't go far in NYC. If he did his undergrad in three years, it still wouldn't acount for Nate's wealth. The only explanation would appear to be a trust fund from his father, but that is not hinted at. Additionally, it is hard to believe Nate didn't connect with Eve by going to her home. Although later it is clarified that he didn't have her address, it is hard to believe since Haven is a small town and because he had access to her address in her student file (which he later uses).
Nate and Eve's story of love, tragedy, and family sits with you long after the last page is read. The POV alternates between Nate and Eve. The story is well-written with only a a handful of errors. The plot is somewhat complex. With patience it all comes together in the end. The characters are well-defined. Nate's character becomes sympathetic as his story unfolds, while Eve's strength and determination are tested. I was inclined to rate this book four stars, but by the time I got through the end and realized the story was bigger than just Nate and Eve, I raised it to 4.5 stars.

Ten years ago, the young high school lovers Nathanial Winthrop and Evangeline Lee, often and secretively, had gone to Eve’s house to explore each other sexually while her single mom worked her second job and sometimes third jobs, sometimes cleaning houses late into the evening. But, one secretive meeting was to be the last time that the young lovers were together—the tryst was interrupted by the news that Nate’s older brother Jacob, who had been sent on a mission by their mom to find Nate and bring him home, had been killed by a drunk driver. The grieving and hysterical mom and broken-hearted physician dad, immediately following the funeral, sent Nate from his home in Haven to NY City to live with his aunt and to finish high school as his parents tried to regain their equilibrium after the accident.
Nate stayed in NYC for college, then med school, and finally began his career as an orthopedic surgeon there. And now, 10 years later he has come home to Haven to support his dad who has suffered a back injury and needs some time off from his job as orthopedic on call at the local ballet academy.
Ironically Eve, who never understood the desertion of her young lover, also ended up in NYC for a time, following her dream to become a dancer, not knowing that Nate was in the same city. For 10 years, 28-year-old ballerina Eve has studied, trained and risen from the corps de ballet to the more select coryphée from which small solo parts are chosen, with dreams of becoming a soloist, and is on the verge of “making it.” But now, she has returned to Haven to regroup following an injury. She seeks to heal and teach at the local ballet academy and lighten the financial burden on her hardworking mom.
Once more thrown together by Fate when Eve seeks relief for recurring shin splints resulting from her rigorous training and dancing; she is stunned that the doctor on call is none other than her former lover, Nate. And while both have changed in 10 years, what has not changed is the emotional and sexual pull between the former lovers.
Aubrey Wright entertains and delights in her reader with her tale of lovers to enemies to lovers. The tension of the emotional connection between the former lovers is strong, as are the forces working against their reunion. Wright creates a compelling story of love, sacrifice and misplaced anger and ongoing grief as love seeks to heal and restore connections that should have never been broken. A HEA ending results when Fate yields to power of love and forgiveness. This is a story to read and a writer to follow!

As teenagers Nate and Eve had a connection that very few find at a young age. As start crossed lovers they kept their relationship under wraps because Eve was the daughter of the housekeeper and Nate's mother has visions of grandeur for herself and her sons to be around high class type of company. As teenagers all Nate and Eve wanted was to be together.
Tragically an accident takes place and Nate is shipped off to school and he was never able to communicate with Eve what was going on... but how could he when he was caught up in a whirlwind that had altered his life. This this transition there was a misunderstanding on both parts but for different reasons and it brought about trust issues and hard feelings of abandonment.
Now home and successful Nate has agreed to cover for his father at a ballet academy under his father injured his back and to his surprise one of his patients is Eve! Not only did Eve lose the love of her life after Nate left but she bore the brunt of animosity of what happened. Eve used her hurt to fuel her into becoming the best ballerina in the academy and one of the last opportunities to become a prima ballerina for her age. The only thing is with her injury will be she able to make the cut???
One thing that has never changed is the love they had for each other. It was there buried under the hurt and disillusionment of what happened in the past but their chemistry could not be denied. Will Eve allow Nate to explain what happened the night he left??? Will Nate let Eve in to help heal past wounds and lay the past to rest??? Will Nate finally stand up and take his life back from those who wish to continue to punish him and Eve for what essentially was not their fault??? This is a good book that take one on a journey of redemption, forgiveness and the healing power of love that enables us to come out on the other side of trials and devastating losses.

WONDERFUL second chance romance!! DOCTOR’S BABY, author Aubrey Wright’s newest second chance romance has EVERYTHING! Star-crossed young lovers, tragedy and separation, and page-turning drama with just the right amount of suspense, humor, and angst are sprinkled throughout this marvelous romance! Sure to keep readers rapidly turning pages to find out what happens next, DOCTOR’S BABY takes them on a journey of discovery to see if Nate and Evangeline will be able to overcome some incredible walls in an effort to find their perfect future! A future they have wanted for a decade, and a future they will each have to fight for and compromise in order to achieve any hope of being together. Author Wright uses her erudite prose to weave a web around two very worthy characters, Nate and Evangeline. I fell in love with Nate and Evangeline in the first chapter and rooted for their forever future from that point on. DOCTOR’S BABY illustrates their sensuous second chance with a chemistry that readers can almost feel, along with the side-steps, and miss-steps that come from being unsure, unclear, and ill-prepared for everything life throws at them. The book blurb does a marvelous job of setting up this page-turner of a plot, but the reality of the story will blow your socks off! I love the way Aubrey Wright tells a story, so I volunteered to read a copy of DOCTOR’S BABY and this is my 5-STAR review. DOCTOR’S BABY will be going into the FAVORITES collection on my Kindle. So, I strongly suggest that you purchase your copy of DOCTOR’S BABY today! Happy pages! 😉
This book is absolutely amazing! The story of Nate and Eve is one of love, loss and second chances. Ten years ago, they were dating but everything ended when his brother, Jacob, was killed in an accident. Nate's mother sent him to New York to live with his aunt and he never came back. Eve has been focusing on her dancing, back in her hometown from New York after an injury. Nate returns to fill in for his doctor father while he's recovering from an injury. The minute he sees Eve, it's like no time has passed. The two immediately find themselves back in each other's arms. All is going well between them until one morning when Eve encounters Nate's mom at his door. Eve is immediately attacked by the woman both physically and verbally and when Nate asks her to leave, she's hurt. It gets worse when his mother threatens to ruin her ballet career unless she stays away from Nate. It's hard on them both and when she finds out she's pregnant after collapsing at rehearsal, it gets worse. Eve's mom jumps in to tell Nate what's going on with Eve and he drops everything to be by her side. The two agree to give a relationship a try and in the end, they get their happily ever after with all of their family, Nate's mom included.

Well... I absolutely LOVED this story! From the very start, the characters were likeable and relatable. The setting sounded perfect too! How could a town by the name of Haven NOT be an ideal location?! Eve is a ballerina and Nate is a doctor, and they see each other again after 10 long years. He left Haven suddenly (you'll find out why in the book of course), and she hasn't forgotten that. BUT... there is still a big attraction there... and despite his womanising ways, it's mutual!
There's some banter, angst, major flirting, plenty of dirty thoughts and inner monologues... and some unexpected very-early-in-the-story sex! But does it occur just once? Well... you'll have to read and it and find out!
Family dramas and opinions get in the way for a while, but are their feelings going to be strong enough to move forward, before it's too late?
I could go on and on with what happens, but I don't want to spoil it for the readers - this is one I'd definitely recommend (it kept me up until almost 2am last night... this morning...). One thing though... I would LOVE for these characters to be revisited down the track, to see where they're at. How do their lives progress? Their careers? PLEASE consider it Aubrey!
Anyway... this one was sweet, sexy, sassy and steamy all rolled into one. And I can't wait to read more from this author!

Loved the story! I'm so enamored by second chance love stories. I especially like them when they are done well. Well, this one is exquisite!! Nate comes back into town, after having left about a family tragedy ten years earlier, to help his father who is recovering. His back needs rest and Nate can take over for him as the rehabilitation doctor with the dancers. Nate is usually an orthopedist, but he'll fill in for his dad's practice. When going into a room to check in a patient, Nate encounters his old high school girlfriend. Sparks ignite and some of the usual things happen. There are several twists to this one though. I specifically loved A-Ma. Her love for her daughter was evident and it was clearly returned. I especially liked when she's a little gremlin later in the story. :-) This story is sweet, passionate, and seems to be a true love story. I liked how Eve had only ever concentrated on her dancing.

What a great book has a lot of emotion in it that will have you hooked from the start . Eve and Nate have been highschool lovers when they were young and broke apart when Nate moves to New York and when his dad needs him to cover his fathers practice because he is hurt nate does realize that eve is one of his father's clients and winds up seeing her as a patient and that is where everything starts to get really juicy. Eve has always had to work really hard for everything that she has including her ballerina career and when she gets hurt and sent to the doctor on call she doesn't realize that the doctor is Nate , these two have been destined to be together their still might be a few people against them being together but with the way cupid has it written there soul are meant to be with each other . I received this book as a arc for a honest review and can say that this is another great book from Aubrey wright and cant wait to see what she has to come . .
This is a second chance romance. Our ML left home after an accident took the life of his brother. He blames himself so practically ran away. He’s been successful in life but doesn’t forge any real bonds to those around him and even his relationship with his parents has suffered.
He comes back to cover for his father for a bit. He doesn’t quite know what to make of it when he realizes his next patient is the girl he could never forget. They come from different worlds but this spunky ballerina can help him fill his heart with more than regret.
The characters come to life on these pages and you get swept up in their journey. It did take me a couple chapters to get into it at first I felt like I was just looking in rather than experiencing the story but by chapter 4 I was hooked.

Nate comes home to cover for his father and encounters his first love again. Nate entered the examination room to see a woman bending over and touching her toes giving his a clear view of her bottom. When she stands up and faces him he recognizes her as Eve his first love who was left behind when he was shipped off to stay with his aunt in New York. Now fully grown into a woman she arouses him like none of the women he has known in New York have and when he kisses her he does not want to stop.she rushes off but he is unable to stop thinking about her. When he sees her again he cannot hold back. When Eve meets Nate again she finds his touch like an electric shock and the way her body responds to him she knows she wants him.

This was a cute second chance/enemies to lover’s romance read. Nate and Eve were high school sweethearts that thought they had it all until a tragic event sent Nate away without any answers or reason, so Eve went on with her life trying to forget all about Nate. One day Nate returns to Haven to help his injured father at the ballet school and surprise he runs into the one person he didn’t want to see, Eve. These two still had their instant chemistry for each other but they both fought so hard because they had things in their life they had to deal with. I loved their story and their push and pull. It was a cute and quick read that dealt with a lot of things from finding love again, trying to let go of guilt, and learning to overcome obstacles.
Doctor's Baby is an amazingly written journey of Eve as she strive to reach her dream if being a dance.
Eve's character is something to be admired. She is determined through her hard work to reach her dream. She also has a great role model in her mother.
Nate is lost and is looking for something to dull the pain of feeling rejected by his mom. Dreading coming home he finds the only one that make his world feel right.
There was a scene where Nate's mother attacks Eve, and Nate tells Eve to go. Eve is upset that Nate did not stand up..... I understand she was just attacked but to me I would think you would want to run far away. In the end Nate is the man you want in your corner.

As I was reading Doctor's Baby I was going between liking it and disliking it. So for me I came down in the middle. There were some parts that I thought were sweet, lovely, nice second chance, making amends, etc. But then there were parts where I was scratching my head, rolling my eyes and letting out a groan as I thought..............really these are two adults with careers and one of them is even a doctor, hence the title.
So for me this was an okay story but I know there will be other readers who adore it. So if you have already read books by this author then pick up Doctor's Baby and decide for yourself.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
First of all I disagree with an enemy to lover romance title though. This is a second chance romance for me. Nate and Eve were highschool sweetheart until Nate was sent away. Of course when they met each other again 10 years later, Eve had to have a reaction but they even didn't fight each other so hard that made me considering this is an enemy to lover romance. I enjoyed reading it but when it was involved with Nate's mother, I suddenly felt boring because it was predictable after that. Anyway of you enjoy reading a second chance romance this is one of the good books for you.

Nate and Eve have a history but upon meeting again after many years, it's like they never were apart. The attraction still very apparent. Like all great romances, Aubrey Wright makes her stories fast paced and with a difference. Nate a Dr and Eve is a Ballerina and we get a slight glimpse into those worlds as they work their way through their ups and downs as they make their way together. And they definitely do have their fair share of drama. The plot of this book is well developed, crisp and full of interesting characters that make this story great.
