When you rise from your bed, how many minutes does it take before you truly shine?
Oh, dear. That long.
Might I have just two of those precious minutes each morning? Two minutes to whisper a gentle word of encouragement, to brush a feather across your funny bone, to prove how beautiful and valuable you are to God?
Two minutes. No calories, no squat thrusts, I promise.
Former Bad Girl, grateful for the grace God offers. Happy wife of Bill, one of the Good Guys. Proud mom of two grown-up kids with tender hearts. Lame housekeeper. Marginal cook. Pitiful gardener. Stuff I love? Encouraging my sisters in Christ—across the page, from the platform, online, in person. Unpacking Scripture. Traveling wherever God leads. Listening to His heart. Leaning into His embrace.
I love this book! Very inspiring! Short 2 minute stories to read each morning and it seemed like each one was perfect for that day. Liz Curtis Higgs is SO funny! She made me laugh out loud. I want all of my friends to read this book. This is truly an amazing book.
This wonderful speaker share tidbits from her life in one hundred quick-read devotionals designed to give a great start to your day and help improve your life. From motherhood to maturity, these pieces ring with authenticity and vulnerability as they direct our hearts to the Lord. Each starts with a Scripture verse and closes with a heartfelt prayer and encouragement. I heartily recommend her writing and teaching. I received this as a prize from the author. All opinions are my own.
so although Liz is a grest writer, this devotion was a struggle to connect with. As a women who is not a wife or a mother a lot of the devotions just didn't apply to where I am in life. There were a few that were more generic and I could apply to where I am as a young woman in Christ.
I had read this devotional several years ago but decided to use it for daily reading once again. Liz Curtis Higgs is hilarious, both in person and in her writing. If you are looking for a short devotional that is honest, humorous and helpful, give this one a try.
I’ve so enjoyed this gift from my sister, spending time each morning reading a daily devotional. Liz’s writing is so heartwarming and funny at times as she relates her own life experiences to help others grow in their faith. We all need a sister in Christ that can lift us up and cheer us on.

I'm reading this devotional and I'm only partway through it but I am really enjoying it. It makes me smile and that is a feat first thing in the morning.
