A performance coach’s toolkit in book form—practical, sharp, and disarmingly human.
It’s rare to find a book on communication that doesn’t talk at you, but instead pulls you into the process like a scene partner. IMPACT doesn’t just explain confidence—it demonstrates it. Every chapter felt like a quiet rehearsal for real life: meetings, pitches, awkward conversations, moments when your voice needs to rise above the noise.
Dominic Colenso brings a performer’s instinct and a coach’s eye. He’s not here to sell charisma—he’s showing you how to build it from the inside out. I especially loved how grounded the tools were. There’s no jargon, no fluff—just smart, deeply usable techniques for:
Showing up with presence (not just posture)
Flexing your voice without faking it
Planning your message without sounding scripted
Whether you're speaking to one person or one hundred, this book won’t just teach you what to say. It’ll show you how to be when you say it.
If you're someone who constantly replays conversations in your head after they happen—this one’s for you.
Easy read with some strong emotive words to encourage you the reader to make an impact with your communication. Coupled with some handy tools to use in day to day conversation, this book is a good read for anyone looking to improve themselves or simply to put you in an uplifted mood.
Just finished work training by RADA, so a lot of this wasn’t net-new knowledge. Hence the rating. However, it was useful to drill into the theory as some of the concepts are a bit abstract.
