The novel covers a period of approximately one thousand years. The story falls into two parts. In part 1, in the early part of the 22nd century, Jim Stewart wishes to introduce teleportation for the benefit of humanity but he is blocked by vested interests. He turns to the race known as the Sethi for assistance, and they convince him to move to their world. In part 2, Earth is dominated by a powerful telepath and once again the Stewart clan seek help from an alien race called the tibants, who share a powerful booster to human telepathic abilities. The Stewarts return to confront the evil telepaths on Earth.
I’ve been able to get my hands on four out of five of Roger G. Trow audiobooks, it’s just to bad that he never numbered them or even connected them into a series because they sure are, and what’s even worst and sad is that they no longer can be found on Audible so I can’t get the fifth one. I’ll say this for the author, his imagination is amazing the books are full of great science fiction but lacking unknowns, action, twist and even somewhat predictable at times. Nevertheless they are still intriguing ! Maybe because that I got them a long time ago and as they say pulled them of the shelf in perfect timing, just as our earth is going into dark times those books are also about humanity and the earth dealing with awful dark times but they managed to get saved after many hardships and thousands of years so maybe, just maybe we or I humanity will get a chance after all.
Bernadette Homerski narration was spot on for each of the characters creating a beautiful audiobook.
