I have three superstitions I live by:
1. No dating all season.
2. Don’t jinx a no-hitter while one’s in progress.
3. Be cold-hearted. If you find something you think about more than baseball, destroy it.
Calliope Thomas is one of those things. Ever since she left a bad review on the Max Energy Drink I endorse, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. Obviously, when she said she hoped I had a losing season, I had to meet her and get her to take the words back.
Now, she’s making me do insane things. Like, obsess over the color of her panties or if I can make her blush. Read superstition one—I don’t do this sort of thing.
I play ball, not chase after a woman I barely know.
But, I am, and she wants nothing to do with me.
She thinks I’m the devil.
And I have to say she makes me want to sin.
I’m becoming a borderline stalker.
And to make matters worse she’s affecting my game.

I simply adored this fast paced RomCom. In my humble opinion, the author has hit a Grand Slam with Cold Hearted Baller. The storyline hit all 4 bases as it is funny, sexy, heartwarming and romantic. On top of that, the banter between all the characters and their crazy antics, had me smiling and laughing throughout.
This is a very well written book and in my humble opinion ranks in the top 5 Logan Chance books. The storyline is a refreshing look at superstitions and the things we do for love and happiness.
Kudos to the author for an outstanding book that kept me feeling warm and cozy page after page. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Brilliant Stars for Cold Hearted Baller, a book I Highly Recommend grabbing up ASAP. You won’t regret it!

I don't remember ever having so many foul balls thrown my way in one book. From start to finish, this was nothing but page after page of same old/same old rote sexual innuendos, acts of sex, or dirty talk and I mean the down and dirty kind of it all -- and that's the only place you'll find where the author hit homeruns. No emotional relationship building or storyline. These characters completely lacked development to the nth degree. I found nothing even remotely funny or enjoyable -- it was about as boring as I've ever read. I love sports-related romances and have read a fair share through the years. And the only reason I continued reading here was because I've read other books by this author and always found something redeeming. Not here -- it was a strike-out! Game over with a huge loss on the scoreboard.
It's been a long, long time since I rated a book with only one-star -- heck, I hardly ever rate one less than three-stars. But I couldn't justify any other choice here.

I really enjoyed this story even with the whole "pushing away" funny quick read.
Calliope had her dream taken away all thanks to a energy drink sponsored by Max big time Baseball player.. peeved she sends a review of the product and surprise suprise never tell a baseball player to have a horrible season lol. Max is sorta stalkingish, bugging and falling each second with Callipoe.. even with his rules during baseball season he'll break many for her.. MAXXX i love and wanted to smack him. He had the most dirty talking mouth like lorddd.. also baseball stars and superstition like man but was glad he didn't go far away from his girl... I wanted to smack calliope to for her "lets do it" then try to protect her heart and push away.. many times.. was glad these two figured it out.
Why no 5 star.. i didn't get the whole Davis guy.. Call didn't really have a connection with him.. so why was he in this? To be the sorta om? But not really?? Idk.. that was just random really.

She Was His Game Changer
This enemies-to-lovers, romantic comedy delivered witty banter that was verbal foreplay and SUPER HOT! It was laugh-out-loud funny and a whole lot sexy! The characters were truly a joy.
Calliope is quirky, hilarious and just off-the-wall and I adored her. Max is a man on a mission and his mission is to conquer Calliope. He’s a dirty talking ball player that makes Calliope lose her mind whenever he’s around. This sweet girl is about to get dirtied up and she’s going to LOVE it!
There’s a bunch of back and forth between these two. Something was always holding one of them back. And while they are figuring things out, you will be getting some hysterical comic relief.
This was so much fun to read. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

5 frosty stars!
I literally couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting. Calliope is a spitfire when she needs to be and I couldn’t stop laughing and then when you add Max into the mix this story gets better and better. What I found enjoyable about book is that we’re given a sports romance but it’s not completely wrapped around baseball the entire time. We’re given a page turning enemies to lovers story that keeps you hooked and wanting to cheer these two on no matter what gets in the way. A great read that I highly recommend you bump to the top of your TBR list.

Holy hell is this book hot!! 💯🔥🔥 Man, does Max have a dirty mouth. I loved it! The chemistry between Calliope and Max is explosive. They start off just trying to get each other out of their systems but it's never that easy, is it? This is a funny, sexy, and quick read that won't leave you disappointed. You might even need a cold shower after. 😉

**Synopsis:**
~ ”Max Energy will give you that extra you need to reach your goals. It’s winning in a can.”
Calliope was certainly hoping she would find her “extra” as she pitched a big potential client. However, the energy drink gave Calliope waaaay too much “extra” and she was so jittery and out of sorts that she tanked the pitch (by dropping her three layer chocolate deliciousness into the lap of the boss).
~ “The room is silent as I pack my things and go. All of my dreams follow me out the door. I'm too high on Max Energy to be depressed. I have no one to blame but myself. And Maxwell Hunter, the man behind the drink.”
Calliope decides to leave a negative review for the energy drink……
~ ”This is not success in a can. Don’t drink the kool aid, people. Or actually, do. Maybe you won’t bounce off the walls and lose your dream client. Thanks, Max. Thank you for my failure. I hope you have a losing season.”
……and Max responds directly to her.
~ ”I couldn't help but notice you didn't like Max Energy. Clearly, this is a user error on your part? And why would you hope I have a losing season? That’s not very nice. Best regards, Max Hunter”
Their communication continues and Max quickly steers their conversation in a different direction. They have a video chat and eventually meet.
** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * the immediate sexual innuendos made Max border on the creepy side. There was no buildup to this aspect of the story. Almost the first thing out of his mouth was some sexual comment and it never stopped. He didn’t know her and had no idea whether or not she would be offended. I actually started to dislike him when he pushed the conversation this direction.
* * Dirty talk overload. I appreciate a dirty talker, but could they know each other a little bit first before it’s full on sexual innuendo’s literally every conversation?? Chapter after chapter after chapter……ugh - enough already. And, Calliope was a bit uncomfortable with the way he talked to her (and at one point he even choked her during her Big “O”). They didn’t discuss any of this beforehand and lots of times she was a shocked, but did she ever say anything to him?? Ask him to stop or tone it down for a hot second?? No - which just made her seem like a doormat.
* * At 30% I was tired of the constant sexual aspect. The story was shallow and I started skimming. Where was the actual plot? Calliope had the big meeting to expand her cafe. But that’s the last we heard about any plans.
* * this couple did not have any type of emotional relationship / connection. The whole book was Max initiating sex talk/sex acts, Calliope saying she shouldn’t do something, Calliope doing it anyway. Rinse, wash repeat.
* * this was my first book by this author. I like to give an author a few chances before I conclude they aren’t for me. So far, this is strike one. I hope I have better luck with a different book.

- steamy? Yes. Lots of sex (at the expense of a plot)

This book was a great combination of sexy, funny and sweet.
I loved all the little details of Max and Calliope trying deny thier relationship and feelings to themselves. The small glances and touches did not go unnoticed!
As soon as these two got their heads on straight, and fought though the doubt and jealousy they were a golden pair!
Can wait to read more Logan!

Logan totally hit a homerun with this book!!!! Max and Calliope are so much everything, all the kit and kaboodle....This book, the first few chapters, HILARIOUS! I was laughing so much at these two. Max is a force to be reckoned with. Calliope is so enamored by him but totally dislikes what and how he's making her feel. He just barges into her life and he's everywhere. LOL, he's literally everywhere she is. I love it. This star ball player just can't get this girl out of his head. And she is feeling all kinds of things around him. These two bring the sexiness out of each other. They have this undeniable sexual chemistry but she is wondering if thats the only thing they have in common.
Max is pretty sweet without being aware of it. His nuzzles!!! OMG, ADORABLE. Total major heart eyes!!! The dirty dirty talking ball player who has rules during baseball season is not doing too well because of a gal named Calliope. Goodness to gracious to everything hallowed be thy name, this guy is scorching HOT. There is just something about her he just can't shake. He wants to know why she's jinxing his game. These two start figuring out their feelings and what they thought they didn't need before, now they can't live without. I read this book in one sitting, I could not put it down. Need a sexy, dirty escape that leaves you grinning from ear to ear?
Cold Hearted Baller is a riot! LOGAN has written a clever, sexy laugh out loud rom com that you should one-click immediately! It’s a screaming slider right down the middle. I could not have loved this book more.
Baller is straight up hysterical from the opening line to the closing naughty image. I can’t remember laughing harder reading a romance that left me smiling wishing it would never end. He’s such a good writer, that Max and Calliope's sizzling antics kept me up all night.
I loved the banter and boiling hot chemistry. This pair just light it up. Logan gets the mood right too, mixing equal parts filth and funny, with a measure of earnestness to ground the romance. Sigh. I wished it went on and on.
Maxwell Hunter is a huge dose of alphahole. And he’s hilarious. The only thing better than a dirty talking Max is Calliope, the filthy-mouthed heroine who’s half sweetheart half vixen, which leads to plenty of flock hot action, so much action. Whew!
I think I highlighted more passages in this book that I care to talk about. It’s a freaking riot, yet it’s moving in a strange and funny way. I LOVE IT. Like Max and Calliope, I’ll never get enough.

I think I highlighted more passages in this book that I care to talk about. It’s a freaking riot, yet it’s moving in a strange and funny way. I LOVE IT. Like Max and Calliope, I’ll never get enough.

Everything about this book was amazing; it was funny, sweet and red hot in all the right places. I always appreciate Logan’s quirky writing style and I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Maxwell and Calliope was off the charts, and hilarious banter had me laughing on a number of occasions.
This was so much fun to read and I enjoyed it very much. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Who is the one with the dirtier mouth? Max or Calliope?
Cold Hearted Bastard is fun, sexy and sweet. Logan has this amazing ability of creating such particular characters, with their quirks and their little ways, you can't help but fall in love with them and identify with them. I've laughed and I've sighed and loved every second of it.

Just wow!
I can't believe I had this book downloaded since its release day and just was able to read it now. Since this past summer, my life has been hectic. And then school started, then came a new puppy. In addition to my adorable and sometimes naughty puppy, the holidays snuck up on me. And when Christmas was in the past, I came down with a three-week version of the flu. But the good thing? I had no scheduled ARCs to get through. When I started feeling up to reading, I grabbed my Kindle and hit the back page to look for something that was older. I stopped immediately after seeing Cold Hearted Baller.
This book is steamy and so funny! I experienced a lot of secondhand embarrassment. I have to say that Logan Chance is an impressive author. This man can write successfully in any genre/trope he chooses. I have read nearly every book he has published; I did see another older one on my Kindle, lol, that I'll get to very soon because I know I'm missing out if I don't.
But seriously, not only did Calliope and Max heat up the sheets, those two had me laughing so hard. Max, because he just had no filter! And Calliope's spontaneity got her into trouble. The best part for me was the believability of their relationship, or lack of one. I felt their connection, I believed their interactions. I loved how despite their initial animosity for each other, they quickly became more than rivals. And watching that relationship evolve and change was one of my favorite aspects of the book.
If you haven't read this author yet, I truly believe you should. He has books for everyone, different tropes but the same, amazing, writing talent is present in every one. As is usual, I am looking forward to see what Logan Chance gives us next.

This was a great read. I love sports romance and enjoyed getting to know the feisty characters and the journey to them becoming a real couple. Looking forward to the next in this series.

It’s a grand slam for Logan with this book. I have not been so enthralled in a book in a long time. Maxwell and Calliope are a couple that you can’t help but fall in love with!
When one rash decision to write a review on a product brings the insanely hot guy who endorses it to your doorstep what is a girl to do. Calliope can not believe that Maxwell Hunter the pitcher for the Larks is crazy enough to want to join her book club with her friends all because of a review she left on his energy drink. Seeing him in a picture is one thing but seeing him in real life is like being dosed in lust. They can’t seem to get enough of each other. She’s always been the good girl and he brings out a side of her she didn’t think she had.
Maxwell Hunter doesn’t fail at anything so reading that review made him want to prove her wrong. Being a baseball player he’s superstitious and has a strict no dating rule but there is something about calliope that he just can’t seem to stop thinking about her and it’s messing with him. He does things he normally would never do and a part of him is loving it and another part is freaking the hell out.
These two are amazing together and the witty banter and sexual innuendo is off the charts. Amazing book and can’t wait to see what we get next.

Holy pitcher's mound, Chance has done it again! This book is heartfelt and hilarious, but scorching enough to make your neighbor four doors down blush! As someone who leaves a lot of online reviews, I love the way Calliope and Max first meet! And before they even have a chance to think about it, there’s this undeniable pull between them, and the tides would have a better chance resisting the moon than Max and Calliope have resisting each other.
With every new book I read from this author, I’m more impressed with his skill. He creates a delightfully entertaining story with characters we can’t help but love, and their road to forever is far more like riding a screaming roller coaster while blindfolded than taking a Sunday afternoon drive. I know I say this every time, and I’m getting tired of hearing myself say it, but this is his best book so far. Clearly, I think you need to read this book today and, in the meantime, I’ll be impatiently awaiting Chance's next book!

LOGAN knocked it out of the park!!! Cold Hearted Baller was amazing! As soon as I started reading I was hooked into the story, which is normal for Logan Chances books, but the storyline really draws you in.
Calliope and Max are perfection. The chemistry sizzles right from the beginning with Calliope feeling an attraction toward Max, but she fights it with everything. It’s the perfect angsty sexual attraction with a dirty talking baller to boot. The sweetness, the banter, ( which Logan is known for comedy with words) the realness and the down right heat of this story just made it perfect. How long will Calliope fight it? What will Max give? Have to read and see!
This is the first book Logan Chance has done under Logan and I can’t wait for more! I definitely recommend you check this book out when it releases, it’s a 5 star home run!

A fun, sexy, steamy, sports romance read!
When Calliope leaves a scathing review of an energy drink and finds going head to head with the spokesperson for the said drink, she doesn't know what alternative universe she's dropped into!
Max is the star pitcher for the local pro-baseball team and there is just something about this woman he's been sparing with online that has him thinking about everything but baseball and the upcoming season.
Finding a way to weasel into her everyday life was the last thing he planned on doing but Calliope pushes all the buttons... but will he be around for much longer, if he can't get her out of his head and his mind back on baseball?
I loved the banter between these two. It went from zero to 1000 in a snap and I loved how they pushed each other's buttons. It was a fun, quick read and can't wait to read more from Logan.

OMG, what did I just read!!! I couldn’t put it down once I started, that is how much Logan draws you into the story. Max and Calliope started off on the wrong foot at first, or should I say a 1* review. But, the chemistry between them was off the charts HOT and Max is such a dirty-talker right from the get go that Calliope had a hard time keeping him at a distance. Can she trust her developing feelings though or will she close off b/c she is afraid of getting hurt?? Can Max open himself up to someone and have a real relationship?? You will just have to read for yourself, but I definitely don’t think you’ll be sorry you did. Everyone needs a book boyfriend like Max, a sexy dirty-talker who is only able to focus on the one he loves 😍.

A super erotic romance that will have you panting with desire! Max and calliope were volatile but that hate filled lust fueled their desire to epic levels! Each interaction lead them down a slope of confusion neither could explain but desire couldn’t keep them apart!

Cold Hearted Baller, Logan Chance knocked it out of the park with this story. You know when you pick up a Logan Chance book your in for a real treat and this one sure is that. Max and Calliope opposites attract. This is such a fun exciting read, a passionate read. A story about two people who don’t know what love is. I gave a five star for the cover model. The story is kind of 3.5 stars. Putting them together is indeed the five stars!! Hot!

Coldhearted Baller is like a fantasy come to life. Max and Calliope’s sizzling chemistry is off the charts, and their witty dialogue is flawless. Logan once again delivers a sexy, fun and thought-provoking book that I couldn’t put down. This is a complete home run with a cherry on top!
