Flashpoint: S3: Prequel

Rate this book
Two Marines, both on the cusp of attaining the rank of Major. One left willingly; one was forced out. Two companies, both built from the ground up for a common purpose. One is above board; one is off the books. Ten years ago, their worlds met in the flashpoint. Chase Wayland isn’t looking for a relationship status. In fact, any type of agreement past weekend lover is even a stretch. A former Marine Raider, he now owns his own security firm and is interested in only one keeping his clients safe. He has a failed marriage under his belt and trust isn’t in his vocabulary. In his mind, no amount of restitution can fix that. There’s only one way in Chase’s world and that’s his way whether anyone, including his current client Libby Calhoun, agrees or not. Kyle Montgomery’s life was seemingly perfect. Heavily recruited fresh from the Naval Academy, he’d been working black ops for the Marine Corps for six years. He was on the fast track to bigger and better things, had all the right people vetting him, and he'd married the woman of his dreams. Then, with the Middle East in turmoil, Kyle was sent on a mission which would change the course of his life forever and leave him widowed. While a relationship of any kind will be nearly impossible, absolution will definitely be hard coming. Author’s Flashpoint consists of two full-length contemporary romance novels, complete with their respective HEAs. Restitution and Absolution are the prequel books to the upcoming S3 series.

This is the second time I've read this book-It has two different stories in it - Restitution & Absolution. Both are good and the stories are about Military men and are interesting. It is a prequel so there are questions that are unanswered, but I think they will be answered in the next book in the series. That's why I raised it to 5 stars.
Restitution:
Chase and Libby are two stubborn characters that learn to get along, when something happens and they are thrown together. The story has humor, suspense and action that keeps you interested until the end.
Absolution:
Kyle has the prefect life until he leaves to fight a war and returns two months later, to find his perfect life has been turned upside down. Haley is feisty and doesn't take anything from anyone. This story is sad, funny and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Two wonderful stories filled with the loss of war and heartaches and how they never leave you but you do continue to live.these stories had so many secondary characters that were loyal, funny and lovable. Waiting wit baited breath to see what action they receive.

Chase and Libby, Kyle and Hayley; two very different stories of two very different couples with similar problems. None want a permanent relationship and for sure have no use for love in their lives.

Libby is the daughter of a tried and true Marine. While he kept the nation safe, he was not. Captured by terrorists who want his secrets and threaten his daughter to get them. Chase is called upon to keep her safe from the bad guys and from himself. As the two must survive in the same place for her safety Chase keeps a distance that Libby will not let stand!

Kyle is a back door man creating a formidable team with the nations castoffs. People who gave all for the country only to be written off by the same. Hayley meets him when he comes to her ER to 'retrieve' one of these cast off souls who is a tad belligerent with her. One encounter and Kyle wants her. Then uses his resources to find out all about her. The fire builds from a spark to napalm!

Two very different stories. Both exciting and filled with heat, sorrow and so much love! A wonderful beginning to a greatly anticipated series!
