In Psalm 78:41 it says that the Israelites "turned back and tempted God and limited the Holy one of Israel" If God is infinite how can he be limited? This is the question John seeks to answer in this, his first book, Limiting Infinity. The occasion that Psalm 78:41 is relating to is the time the Israelites first reached the boarders of the Promised Land. Having sent 10 spies in to view the land the report they brought back caused the whole of the fledgling nation of Israel to baulk at the next stage of their journey. The consequence of this was a forty year delay before they entered the land and a whole generation missing out on God’s best for them. Limiting Infinity looks at 10 character traits that led the Israeilites to limit God. It seeks to show that these same attitudes can still be limiting factors to God being able to work in and through His children today. “Whoa. I thought God was Almighty, omnipotent and sovereign? How come the Israelites were able to limit God?“ “What!! Are these people for real? Did they really think they could just waltz back into Egypt as though nothing had happened?”
