Five Great Stand-alone Bully Romance Books For the price of one!

Lawless Kingdom.

5 Stars. This was an awesome dark romance. Judas Barron is a Sociopath, he and his friends are rich, bored and brutal. He talks about them being his famiglia, so it sounds like their fathers are Mafia kingpins. The heroine, Rhiannon Clermont is from a normal family and she hasn’t gone to the private school that her friend Judas and his friends have go to, but has a best friend Audrey and a boyfriend Dax who to that school. Though she has been thinking of breaking up with Dax after he returned from two weeks away.

Before she has a chance to even decide what to do, Audrey takes her to a Party at the Barron house that Dax is attending but Dax doesn’t want them to show up. Of course they think his reason is because he is cheating, so they show up to catch him. Dax isn’t cheating, but he says the Barrons, Kings and Rooks are very dangerous, he had to come because he is related by marriage.

Some odd things happen at the party, Judas Barron seems to be taking an interest in Rhea and Dax starts ghosting her afterwards. Judas apparently has had his eye on Rhia for quite a while and he pulls out all the stops to start getting her attention, especially after she starts their senior year at their prep school. This is another book where the romance is beyond steamy so it gets 5 flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

There are things that Rhia doesn’t know about Judas as well as about her parents, but. There are also secrets she has about the night they first met. The story is fantastic and I loved every minute. I will certainly be reading more from Natalie Bennett.

Merciless Knave.

3.5 stars out of 5. This is the story of Tommy Heenan and Michelle McLean whose marriage was arranged by their parents when they were eight years old. I didn’t like this story quite as much as the others. I think it was because Michelle was the bully. She was also very spoiled and selfish and quite a huge brat, which is a word I rarely use but true in this case.

Of course she has reasons to hate her situation, I mean technically her father sold her future in a business deal. They are now rich and she has saved up money to run away and get set up somewhere until she can get a job. However, her plans fail, she is found out and Tommy starts to keep a very close eye on her. Tommy drives her to school and back and he keeps her car from her.

And then things kicked off when we were sixteen. That’s the legal marriage age in Scotland, with parental consent, and of course parental consent is the one thing we have in fucking abundance.

Tommy was determined I should leave school, marry him, and start learning my place as his wife. It’s all the rage in his community apparently, even though his family aren’t your typical Gypsies. They live in a house, for starters.

But whatever, I refused, and thankfully my dad backed me up for once in his life. We’d wait until we were both eighteen. I found this out via Tommy, when he pushed me up against a wall in the gym changing rooms and whispered in my ear: “This is the one crumb of mercy you will ever get from me, darlin, so you enjoy it while it lasts.”

Michelle hates Tommy, she has ever since that engagement party their parents had for them at eight years old. Though Tommy feels the same way about her, he knows that what their parents did was in the best interest of both their fathers companies and the reason for the arranged marriage is so both kids can inherit the two businesses and run them. Tommy wasn’t always rich, so he knows what it is like to go without and what this opportunity is for them.

Michelle can only see that she is losing her freedom and she crosses Tommy at every turn when he tries to tell her what to do. Though it is her own fault for getting caught doing a runner. Though Tommy does get back at her a few times, she brings it all the more and even manipulates his emotions. I just didn’t like her at all through most of the book.

Being free isn’t ridiculous; it’s her idea of being free that is. Like working long hours in a low-paid job and struggling to pay bills and having no friends is aspirational, just because it means she’s “free”. That’s not being free to me.

You have to find your own ways of feeling like that, in the life you’ve been given.

Michelle does start to get better when she begins to feel an attraction for Tommy. She gets confused as to what she really wants. One last thing about this book that was not as good as the others was the supporting characters. Both main characters had friends and family, but we really didn’t learn anything about them or hear more than a few words from them. Though the book was not quite as good as the first three, it was still worth reading. Esme Devlin wrote a good story that held my interest and I really enjoyed how it all wrapped up. Though I’m only giving this a heat rating of 2 flames 🔥🔥.

Cruel King.

5 stars out of 5. This was an awesome bully romance and the relationship between the two main characters was just about as sizzling hot as it could possibly be. If only a guy would be as into me as Levi King is into Astrid Clifford, I would be a fantastically happy woman. This is a romance where the heroine is one of the “invisible” people at the RES (Royal Elite School) and Levi King was not only from the richest family, but he was the Captain of the Football team and the hottest guy in school.

Astrid attends a party with her best friend Daniel and someone slips ecstasy in her drink. She comes on to Levi King who is about to take her up on the offer when he sees her pupils and figures out she is on drugs. He kicks her out and she gets lost in the woods until overhearing some guys plotting something in the woods. They chase her down until she is hit by a car. She spends the summer recuperating and in therapy but comes back strong.

The problem is that Levi was involved in some way and wants her to drop the investigation into the hit and run. So he begins to bully her, when before he had never known she existed. Astrid liked being invisible and doesn’t want that to change, but when the most popular guy in school pays attention to you, it is difficult to be invisible.

Though she liked her status as one of the people that were ignored, she is not one to back down. So when Levi starts to bring it, she turns it around on him as much as possible, until he takes it a bit too far. Levi starts to feel guilt and can’t stop thinking about Astrid. From there the relationship between the two of them changes and heats up more and more until the romance is so hot you might just get burned. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

There are many obstacles in the way of this romance, in addition to the hit and run. Both Levi and Astrid have issues at home and at school. The story is just so good, I couldn’t stop reading till I finished. It is truly one of the best bully romance books I have read. I really liked the characters and many of the supporting characters. They were well developed and had great personalities. There were a few darker supporting characters as well that were portrayed perfectly. Certainly there was more than one villain in this book. Though It is not always easy to determine who is really a villain. Rina Kent has another book coming out soon with Levi’s cousin Aiden as the Hero/Bully and I can’t wait.

Vicious Knight.

4.5 stars out of 5. I was thinking of giving this a lower score, but I liked the ending so much it completely turned me around. I think this was a true bully romance if I have ever seen one. There are some shady things that happened in this book that it was hard to be comfortable with. However, the author went into great detail on each of the characters involved so that you really end up seeing where they are coming from and why they make the decisions they make. This won’t necessarily make you agree with the decisions or actions, but it is nice to see the background.

The story was about a girl named Eden Thompson who was an Orchestra geek in her high school. She flew under the radar of the “Popular” crowd until she agrees to attend a big party with her friend who started dating a football player. As they are about to leave the party, she sees the most popular guy in school Camden Knight, in bed with his best friend’s mother. She also finds out from her friend that Camden’s best friend Hunter, another football player was going into a bedroom with a girl, whom Eden saw nearly passed out drunk in the kitchen a few minutes prior.

Eden calls the the best friend, Hunter a rapist and calls the cops, to report it, breaking up the party and angering Camden. The following Monday at school all the popular kids, including Eden’s friend Paige gang up on her and say what she saw never happened. Both Hunter and the girl tell her it was all consensual.

Camden, who is the leader of the group, continues to bully her in order to make sure her reputation is destroyed so that if she ever speaks up to Hunter about what she saw Camden and Hunter’s mother doing, then. Nobody will believe her.

The entire school gets in on the bullying, aside from a few of Eden’s friends, but most of them will no longer be seen with her. The more instances that Camden has to see Eden, the more he finds himself attracted to her. She also feels something with him, though she also hates him for the bullying. The romance progresses slowly but it is needed for character development and when they finally do become intimate it is sizzling hot. The ending is great and there are some awesome twists in the plot. Nicole Cypher did an amazing job with this story. I am giving it a heat index of 4 flames for the passion in this book 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

Brutal Prince.

4.5 stars. I really liked this one. It was sort of a cross between a Bully Romance and Crime/Mystery book. I always love when a romance has a great storyline aside from the romance. This one had a some crimes that were committed by a few different people, one was a complete mystery and the others were more secrets that the individuals kept and other people were trying to get to the bottom of them.

The heroine is named Indi and she goes to live with her Grandmother after her Mother is raped and murdered. Her Father died five years previously of cancer. While out in the woods, a guy about her age chases her and basically assaults her after catching her trespassing on his property. When she goes to school the next day she finds that he attends the same school and he goes by his last name Briar because he doesn’t like his first name, which is Prince.

Indi accuses Briar of assaulting her as soon as she sees him, but soon finds out he is someone not to be messed with at the school. her new friend Addy let’s her know that he may have raped her friend Jess, and possibly murdered her as well, though the official cause of death was suicide.

Briar is staying away from women after what happened with Jess, but he felt an immediate attraction to Indi, so he is determined to bully her until she leaves school. He doesn’t trust himself with her. However he can’t seem to stay away, no matter how much his friend Marcus warns him about her. There are so many different twists and turns in this book, it seems to end up in a complex maze of connections. It is extremely thrilling and I couldn’t put it down. It was my first book from Logan Fox and I will be reading more. There was some definite heat between these two so I will give it 4 flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥!

I’ve only read Brutal Prince by Logan Fox, but just that alone was worth downloading this book. It is a dark “bully romance” but also just a great story in general.

Each and every single one of us has darkness within ourselves. Most feared it, some fought it with light, others ignored it, and people like me? We ducking thrived in it.

I read all 5 books in this bully romance box set and over all I loved them. Some stood out to me more than others but I think this just comes down to preferred writing style.

All of the hero’s in the books were assholes, psychotic and my kind of guys 😂 they tried to bring their girls to their knees but severely underestimated them when their queens fought back. I love this shit and the back and forth that comes with it, it’s my kindle crack.

The stand out book for me, was Lawless Kingdom by Natalie Bennett. Although it was very tame and not as dark as Natalie normally writes I still loved it and read it in one sitting.

If you love Bully boys, queens that won’t be told what to do and some epic psycho assholes these are the books for you!

Review for Cruel King:

OMG!! After reading Cruel King all I can honestly say is who is Rina Kent and how can I convince her to live in my basement and write me nothing but the Royal Elite books LOL. All kidding aside, Cruel King was PHENOMENAL!! Levi and Astrid had chemistry in SPADES!! I died for their banter, sexual chemistry and allllll the bullymance goodness.

AHHHH! This book is why I read Bully Romance! . I loveeeeed this story and all.of the characters. It was epically delicious and such an amazing ride. I loved the connection between Levi and Astrid I seriously cannot wait to jump on Aiden's books! Bravo! 5 stars!

Review for Lawless Kingdom:

Lawless Kingdom was a dark and sexy addition to the Noble Savages boxset. Judas and Rhiannon had chemistry and the story was filled we with the edgy intensity we have done to expect from this author.

I did find that the story was a little rushed with no real background provided. I would have appreciated more clarity.and background information. It felt like we were kind of thrown in the middle of a story. All in all it was a good start to a series and I look forward to more from this author in this series. 4 stars! ~Ratula

Very good deal for this box set with all standalone and guaranteed HEA with some shades of dark and angsty. Hot bullies and heroines who fight back like pros. You can read all of them in one go or separately since they are all conclusive. Either way you won’t be disappointed by these stories.

I am reviewing Cruel King by Rina Kent. I recieved an early copy and my opinions are completely my own.

All is not as it seems at the Royal Elite School, where the lords and the wealthy expect a premier education for their children. There is a King here, actually 2 Kings, but one of them really is the ultimate ruler of this place. Name? Levi King- all the girls are drooling behind this swaggering hottie and why not- the girls fight to be with him and the guys wish they could be him or at least be not be caught in his sights, becoming the subject of his wrath or disapproval. Levi is beautiful on the outside, but scared and damaged on the inside. He's lives for his role as the captain of Elite's football team and expects perfection from everyone who plays on it. Beware if you draw the wrong kind of attention from him, being shunned or shamed isn't fun..Levi is used to getting his way and doesn't care if your feelings are hurt on the process. He might just enjoy watching you suffer as his pawn in whatever humiliating game he's playing.

Astrid's life has changed so much and changed her in the process since becoming the recognized only child of her Lord father and free spirited artist mother who lived apart for many years. They couldn't have been more opposite. So when her mother passes away suddenly, Astrid, haunted by the memories of the accident she was also a part of, is removed from a carefree life, transplanted in an estate with servants, the stepmother from hell, her nasty daughter and a cold father who doesn't seem to care at all...unless she keeps embarrassing him!

All Astrid wants is to do is immerse herself in her art classes, keep her head down, be invisible and stay that way until she turns 18 and can finally escape the 'family' that doesn't seem to want her and the school she is an outsider in. Her best friend, Dan is the only person she trusts, who knows her reality and loves her anyway, quirks and all.

During a party that turns wild, everything changes when Levi King zeros in on Astrid and the cloak of invisibility is completely ripped away! His lazer focus is on her now and there is no escaping the fascination he finds in her. He has an agenda, but what could that be? She may just have one of her own!

Wow, talk about sizzle and sparks- fiery kindle alert for this book, 5 alarms! Levi and Astrid are both stubborn...seeing how far they go with each other and the wicked banter tossed back and forth, well, it's just crazy and entertaining. Neither knows how to back down easily. Are there hearts actually beating under all that shiny armour?

Mystery surrounds both of their pasts, twining them together, each having lost someone very important changes their lives- walls go up, sorrow is real, disappointments and dreams that may never come true weigh them down. What you think is happening might not be exactly as it seem, digging down deeper for the truth may be the only way to find it. An unlikely hero or two could be lurking in the shadows but how far will someone go to keep their secrets? So many curious questions coming up in your mind as you fall deeper into this story and the forbidden relationship that is forming. I wanted to know the answer to every single one of them! So will you.

This is Rina Kent's first foray into the high school bully romance genre, not my usual go to, but as everything else she's written, this is exactly what I've come to expect from her as one of my favorite dark authors- an exciting thrill ride of a story, loved the wealthy backdrop that was filled with sinister suspense, the unexpected twists around every corner and a sexy dose of super steaminess! I will definitely be going back to the Royal Elite world when the next book is available. Who doesn't love a bad, bad anti hero and the strong girl who knocks him down a peg or two! Levi, Astrid and all the supporting characters were perfect in their roles and made for another phenomenal book in this authors fantastic collection of dark romances. The next one can't come soon enough, please King me again!

This is an excellent dark, high school bully romance box set and I definitely recommend you read these wonderful stories. The following is my review for each individual story.

Review for Brutal Prince by Logan Fox - 5 Stars

Indi has had to move into her grandmother's house after a brutal tragedy and she has a run in with Prince Briar in the woods by her house. After the unnerving confrontation with Briar she learns he actually goes to the same prep school she will be attending. There is something about Briar that pulls at Indi from the inside and she can't seem to control the fact that she's attracted to him. But with what happened ten months ago Briar tries to stay away from women and so he fights his attraction to Indi by bullying her to try to get her to leave his school. This is a dark, twisted, dirty, emotional read that had me hanging on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next.

Review for Vicious Knight by Nicole Cypher- 5 Stars

Camden Knight is vicious when it comes to anyone messing with someone he considers family. So when Eden sees something at a party that she shouldn't have, Camden sets his sights firmly on discrediting and humiliating the "band geek". To get everyone focused on her, he says they slept together and deems her "Easy Eden". Except Eden will not go down without a fight and she is anything but "easy"!! But maybe that's what Camden really needs is someone to fight him instead of just giving in. This story is wonderfully dark and these high schoolers are brutal, so be prepared for this Vicious Knight!!!

Review for Cruel King by Rina Kent - 5 Stars

Astrid just wants to get through her senior year with her invisibility intact. Unfortunately a run in with Levi King at a party puts her on this Cruel King's radar. Levi just wants to protect a secret he's sure Astrid overheard and he plans on ruining her before she can ruin him. But with a past full of secrets, lies, murder and intrigue, things will not go as planned for this Cruel King. Plans will be changed and even some out right destroyed before the truth comes out. When that happens who will be left standing? This story is dark, intriguing, steamy and comes with a very Cruel King who's out to destroy the princess. So get ready for this epic roller coaster ride and be prepared to be shocked in the end!!!

Review for Merciless Knave by Esme Devlin - 4 Stars

Michelle has been promised to Tommy since they were eight years old. She's never been happy about it and has been plotting to get away before the wedding for many years. Tommy has accepted his fate and likes to taunt Michelle about being his. This is a good story, but to me doesn't really fit the dark, high school bully romance genre.

Review for Lawless Kingdom by Natalie Bennett - 5 Stars

Rhiannon has just moved to a new house with her family and is looking forward to her final year in high school. Then she has a run in with Judas Barron at a party and things start to spiral out of her control. She's thrust into a new high school, which thankfully happens to be her best friend's school. But things are not always what they seem and Judas has set his sights firmly on Rhiannon. He plans on taking her, breaking her and putting her back together just the way he wants her. This is a dark, steamy high school bully romance and I loved all the twisted yumminess that made this story great!!!

I had received an ARC in exchange for a review for Lawless Kingdom 👑 by Natalie Bennett.

Cruel. Brutal. Vicious. Lawless. Merciless.

This book definitely lives up to those above, when I received this arc I didn’t know what to expect. I did know that it was going to be a bully romance with the new girl in town.

Natalie put her own twist to the whole bully romance, she sprinkled her typical darkness into this book and created some pretty epic characters. Especially the Bully and his Victim.

I loved the twists and turns and the way this book was developing. Their was murder, lies and deceit and secrets being exposed.

Things are not always what they seem, the hero has had his sights set on her for a while now. He is set on ruining and breaking her but being the one that puts her back together again in his own way of course.

This was definitely a book that had dark themes but I wouldn’t really say it’s Dark. It’s steamy and filled with hotness that you want to get your hands on.

You will be intrigued with the storyline and even the secondary characters that are involved. Definitely wouldn’t mind this book venturing out to be a series.

You should definitely check out this box set if your into Bully Romances with dark elements.

I read Cruel King by Rina Kent.
I love how she can create a story with so many twists and turns that you never know what is coming next.

Secrets and Power
Everyone has secrets and those secrets have to power to destroy you and those you love.
Astrid
Still dealing with the death of her mom and having to move in with her dad, stepmother and stepsister. All she want is to be an artist and stay invisible. Her father had a rule, stay away from the King's. Well we all know when someone tells you not to do something it be comes impossible not to do it.
Levi
King not just a last name but a social status. He leads the football team, gets all the girls, one fateful night he comes face to face with the quiet invisible Astrid. He was warned to stay away from her.
The secret past they don't know they share is so bad it can tear them apart for good.
Throw in Astrid's male best friend, Levi's party loving friends and evil step relatives and you get one hell of a book.
Be prepared to not be able to put it down until you finish this book. 5 stars.

3 stars for the anthology (There are two that I dnf, I won't name them bc my reason was my laziness to continue after reading Nicole's story, it ruined me for the rest, I knew that the others won't live up to my expectations, and I was unfortunatelly right)

4 stars for Nicole Cypher's Vicious knight.... What can I say other than it was near perfect for a bully romance. What I loved the most was the heroine's reaction to her bully. It was so realistic to be attracted to the most popular boy who seems obsessed with you, but to remain distrustful to your bully. She made him work for it, and everyone got what they deserved in the end.

3 stars for Rina Kent's cruel king, I liked its sequel better.

🔥🔥🔥🔥 Some had more heat than others, but the heat was SPICY in the majority of them!

Lawless Kingdom by Natalie Bennett is a bully romance but with all the dark, twisted, suspenseful, bloody twists, and sexiness that we have come to know and love from Natalie PLUS some! If I thought she would do YA/NA any differently than how she usually writes I WAS WRONG!
“We were a new aged Romeo and Juliet, but our curtain call would come with a much more satisfying ending and sinister twist.”
Rhianna Clemont has just moved to a new house and looking forward to a fresh start with her family. But when she and her BFF Audrey hit up a party to try and catch her boyfriend Dax cheating on her, her life gets turned upside down.

She has no clue that she just walked into the big bad wolf's lair.

When she's suddenly thrust into a new school, which just so happens to be Audrey's school too she realizes that not everything meets the eye.

There are three powerful Famiglias, The Barrons, Knights, & the Rooks rule the high school as well as the town.
“Even after I wreck your world, I promise I’ll be there to help you pick up the shattered pieces of it.”
There's a sordid history between the Clemonts and the Barrons that Rhiannon is totally unaware of. But Judas Barron has his sights on Rhiannon, and he won't stop until he's broken her, and then put her back together again exactly the way he wants her... He will do anything to make this Principessa his, forever... whether she likes it or not.

Judas and Rhiannon share a secret. A secret that Rhiannon herself doesn't even realize at first. But the more secrets that are revealed, the more the REAL Rhiannon, the one that only Judas has ever seen, comes to the surface.
“Loving Judas would be like agreeing to slice yourself open and bleed just to see the color of blood. Painful and beautiful, but ultimately deadly.”
Although I LOVE Natalie, this one wasn't really a bully romance. Is Judas a demanding, controlling, alpha? HELL YEA! But does he bully Rhiannon? No, not really. I wanted to LOVE this story, and although I really, REALLY, liked it. I couldn't quite love it.

This one was much shorter than the other ones. I feel like if it had been just a little longer, there would have been a bit more depth to the characters as well as the storyline and everything wouldn't have felt so rushed. Just needed a bit of fleshing out I guess you could say. Also, Judas was almost 20 years old and apparently still in high school?

Judas is... SHEW! That boy is ALL alpha male! He's brutal, demanding, controlling, and he oozes DANGER! My kind of psycho! 😈😈😈
“I liked the slightly psychotic Judas with a fucked-up moral compass. He fit me better than a sweet saintly boy would.”
I love Rhiannon! Sassy, smart-mouthed chicks are my thing lol, and Rhiannon ticked all of those boxes PLUS some!

There were a LOT of unanswered questions but from what I'm hearing, this is the beginning of a new series for Bennett so I am looking forward to more from this whole crew for sure.

If you like your YA/NA a little darker and dirtier, then this is the one for you! Loved it!
“You’re beautiful, wild, and stubborn, the queen of my lawless kingdom.”

Vicious Knight by Nicole Cypher, although this one, wasn't very R-Rated as far as cursing, and darkness I will say out of all the books, this one has the most triggers. If you are sensitive to subjects such as rape, non-consensual touching, etc. then read this one with caution. Although I don't have triggers so it wasn't a huge deal to me, some readers do and I feel like the author most DEFINITELY should have added a trigger warning.

Eden is the quiet chick that just wants to fly quietly under the radar and just get through senior year with her invisibility intact.

But when her best friend Paige starts dating a guy from the football team, Eden lets her drag her to a party she doesn't even want to be at.

But when Eden witnesses some things she wasn't supposed to see at the party she decides to stand up for what she believes is right. But by doing so, she gets herself caught in the one and only Cameron Knight's crosshairs.

Camden Knight is vicious when it comes to protecting his family, and his best friend Hunter is his family. Cameron knows the best way to ensure that his secrets stay hidden and his friend is safe is to ruin Eden's credibility and reputation just in case she decides to open her mouth about the things she saw. To help his cause, Cameron lies and tells everyone he hooked up with Eden, dubbing her "Easy Eden"

But Eden is far from easy and she's not going down without a fight, no matter what these boys throw at her.

This one is much, much lighter than what I am used to and what I was expecting, especially with some of the content that's involved. Not much cursing at all, and there wasn't very much steam, I think the first sex scene between the main characters was AFTER the 50% mark.

The blurb drew me in and I really thought I was going to like this one more then I did, but the characters kind of fell flat for me. By the end of the book, I really didn't care for either of them.

OK, not going to lie. I just could NOT get the image of Cam and.... who he was with when Eden walked in, in the beginning out of my head. I just couldn't. 🤷‍♀️

Cameron was a grade-A asshole and a compulsive liar who seemed to just lie for the hell of it. The worst part is, the whole reason Cameron even started this vendetta against Eden was to protect HIS secrets from getting out. Not Hunter like he claimed.

Eden was a weak character. SMH, the only STRONG thing she seemed to do was when she thought something was going on, on the other side of that door she stepped up and opened her mouth when most would have just gone home and tried to forget about what they saw. Other then that, I feel like she just rolled over and took the torment. When she made the choice to start talking to Paige again, that was it for me. I was over the story. No way, no how. Not after what Paige stood by and allowed to happen. Not after YEARS of friendship. HELL NO!

The only redeeming quality Vicious Knight had for me, was the ending. I knew Cameron's secrets and lies were bound to catch up with him, but I did NOT think for a second that, THAT would happen. So far as the OMG ending factor, this one did have that.

Merciless Knave by Esme Devlin, I really liked this one! Devlin is another new to me author so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Merciless Knave!

Michelle McLean and Tommy Heenan were promised to one another from a young age. When they become of age they are to marry and run the families businesses together. The two began their love/hate relationship back when they were just kids when this marriage that neither of them wanted was first sprung on them.

For 10 years, Tommy picked on and teased Michelle. For 10 years, Michelle plotted her escape.

Tommy has accepted their fate and is determined Michelle WILL be his wife. To him, she's always been his Shelly.

But Michelle, well she'd rather jump off a bridge to get away from him rather than marry Tommy.

But after her first attempt at fleeing fails, she enlists help from a friend at school for her next attempt... only things to go horribly wrong and peoples lives and futures are put at risk.

Now, who will she turn to when she runs out of options?
“Even when the odds are against me, I don't let go easily. I love winning. I love the game. I just need to make her enjoy playing it with me.”
I really liked this one! It was a nice little change-up from all the usual academy/founding families type of bully romances. Merciless Knave wasn't really what I would call a "dark" read, it's actually more on the comical/lighter side than I was expecting but either way, I really enjoyed it!

The story is set in the Scottish region and the whole Scottish/Gypsy talk from Tommy and his friends, had me laughing out loud and REALLY wishing that I could listen on audio just so I could hear it out loud! I rarely ever listen to audio so that's telling for me! The back and forth banter just cracked me up!
“No, you wee hussy. It’s better than that. But if you want me to knock the breath out you later with your wrists behind your back, I’m sure I can find the original set.”
I will say though, as far as the bully romance aspect Michelle seemed to be more of the "bully" in this one then Tommy did. Even though Tommy could be cruel when he wanted to be, I'm not saying he was Prince Charming, but honestly, he wasn't really that mean to her. He seemed to actually WANT to do right by her but Michelle just wasn't hearing it. She had it set in her head how she thought things would go and she wouldn't listen when he tried to reason with her.
“I’ll make him dread the thought of walking me down the aisle. I’ll make him suffer. I’ll make him see that I can be cruel, too.”
I liked the gypsy prince, Tommy. He was like the hot bad boy who was actually sweet and attentive, but with a filthy mouth that he's not afraid to use... 😉😉

Michelle... it took me a bit to like. She came off as very selfish and a bit spoiled. One minute I could understand where she was coming from, and then the next I wanted to shake her and tell her to open her damn eyes!

The back and forth, the sexual tension, THAT BEACH SCENE... HOLY HOTNESS! I really liked this one!

Cruel King by Rina Kent, HOLY HELL! I'm a HUGE fan of Rina Kent's work but this one is TOTALLY different then what I am used to seeing from her. This is Kent's first time branching into the YA/NA genre so I wasn't sure what to expect but, MY OH MY, Levi and Astrid's story take us on a wild ride!

After her mother dies in a horrific car accident, one that could have just as easily stolen Astrid's life as well, she moves in with her father and his new wife and stepdaughter.

Astrid is given two rules. Do not disgrace the Clifford surname, and to stay away from the King surname.

Astrid is totally OK with that, all she wants is to work on her art and stay invisible until the end of senior year.

But when she comes face to face with Levi King at a party one night, by pure accident (or was it fate?) her world is turned upside down for a second time.

Levi King is the King of the school and the hotshot quarterback of the football team. After the death of his father, he was forced to live with his Uncle and his cousin Aiden. Levi can never live up to the standards his Uncle had set for him so needless to say, the relationship there is rocky.

The Cliffords and the Kings have a feud that's been going on for years.

Why? Well, no one truly knows, and the ones who do? They aren't talking.

Like Astrid, Levi was warned to stay away from the Cliffords, but this bad boy has never been one for following orders. Now that he has her in his sights, this cruel king has every intention of destroying the princess.

But when secrets from both of their pasts are revealed, their worlds are turned upside down all over again.

I loved Cruel King! It has the suspense that Kent's readers have come to know and love from her but with a YA/NA twist! Add in Levi, the alpha football player, Astrid the sexy in her own way artistic chick and it's a ringer for a good romance! Throw in some family drama, secrets and a lot of love and loss, and you've got a 5-star read!

This one was one of the longer books from the box-set (55 chapters + Epilogue) but I stayed hooked the entire time, the suspense continued to keep me trying to unravel the secrets that I knew were lurking right under the surface but I just could not figure it out!

I'm usually pretty good at the "who done it" but this one I NEVER saw coming!

The only real negative I had was that the dialogue between the characters was a little more mature than the characters age range. I was contributing that to them being very posh, but they did seem a little more mature then what would be natural for 18-year-olds.

Astrid is a BADASS! Like seriously, I love a TOUGH chick, and she was the definition of tough.

Levi, he has so much dark that surrounds him but yet, underneath it all he's not that bad of a guy, just been through a lot in his young life just like Astrid.

As far as steamy..."Oh, my Vikings!" this story was HOT!

I adored the secondary characters in this one! Astrid's best friend Dan, and then the four horsemen. Levi's cousin Aiden, and his friends Ronan, Cole, and Xander, the banter between these guys is absolutely hilarious.

Cruel King is the beginning of Kent's new Royal Elite Series, Aiden, and the Ice Queen's story is up next from her and I am sooo looking forward to that! I'm also REALLY hoping we get Dan's story too... and a little birdy told me that we just might!

What an incredible dark, high school bully romance box set and I absolutely recommend you read these awesome stories. The following is my review for each individual book!

Cruel King by Rina Kent: 4 Stars
This book took me a bit to get into, but it got better as I read it. At the beginning I thought I may not continue reading because it seemed a bit low key for me, but it got much better! Astrid and Levi have quite the story and it was like a rollercoaster of unusual circumstances and things that happen. It was a great read and I’m glad I stuck with it!

Vicious Knight by Nicole Cypher: 5 Stars
What a bully romance!!! I freaking LOVED it and couldn’t put it down!! Camden is such an Asshole, but Eden doesn’t just take his shit either, it’s great! I guess I connected with Eden a bit, I was also a “band geek” so I guess I got immersed into the story a bit stronger than I usually do. But jeepers it was just so good! I liked reading both POV, it helped me understand and get to know both sides to the story, because without Camden’s side I probably would have completely hated him. The ending had me all sorts of jittery, I did NOT see that happening, but I’m so happy that they got a HEA! Great job Nicole on writing an incredible story!!

Merciless Knave by Esme Devlin: 4 Stars
Hmmm, where to star with this one? Merciless Knave had me on ups and downs with liking and disliking it. Let me explain a bit, Tommy was kinda hard for me to like because he was just so persistent with being mean and cruel, but once he finally opened up I started to feel the love with him. However, Michelle…she pissed me off a lot too. At times I felt sorry for her and her situation, but there were also times I just wanted to slap her around a bit for being so freaking stupid.  So overall it was an enjoyable read, hence the 4 stars, but because of the drawn out back and forth between Tommy and Michelle and Michelle’s confusing characteristics I couldn’t completely fall in love with the whole story.

Brutal Prince by Logan Fox: 5 Stars
Wow, no joke about this one being absolutely brutal. This book was absolute perfection. I have no complaints at all! Indi and Briar are amazing characters and they story line had me completely enraptured for more. Just freaking excellent and I hope that everyone gives this one a read, they won’t be disappointed!!

Lawless King by Natalie Bennett: 3 Stars
This one was kind of all over the place and a bit confusing. A lot of things aren’t explained and the even though Judas is a fully developed character, I don’t feel the same about Rhiannon. I also am a little concerned about why he is even still in high school…so yeah, if this book doesn’t get a sequel I will endlessly wonder why I wasted time on a book that isn’t going to answer any of the unanswered questions or anything.

Brutal Prince by Logan Fox - DNFed at 49%.
This book was just SO long and to be honest, a bit boring. I really liked the relationship between Briar and Indi but there just wasn’t enough of it. So much of the story was focused on other things, which is where it lagged for me and lost interest. Also, some of the language choices were not in line with the setting, British as opposed to American.
I’m looking forward to reading the other stories within, but this one was not a great one.

Cruel Prince by Rina Kent - 4 stars.
I liked this story much more than Brutal Prince. It had much more romance, which was great.
I loved the relationship between Levi and Astrid. Levi is a great multidimensional character and I loved seeing all the different sides of him.
I did have issues with some of the language used. It’s supposed to be British English but yet, some terms used weren’t. Also, there were technical errors with the football aspect of the story, as well a general hilarity with Arsenal’s involvement, up the Chels!
Anyway, this is a much more solid contribution to this collection.

Vicious Knight by Nicole Cypher 4.5 stars.
So far this is my favourite book of the collection. I absolutely loved Camden and Eden’s story and them as characters.
Eden is a great character. I loved how she never backed down or shied away from what was happening with Camden.
I loved the complexity to Camden. I loved how he struggled, but i would’ve liked to have seen more issues with his parents.
At times i felt this moved a tad too slowly, but I still really enjoyed it!

Merciless Knave - Esme Devlin DNF at 48%.
I had to DNF this one, I couldn’t get into it. I was so unsure about who Michelle was supposed to be. Was she a snob? A victim? Someone standing up to Tommy? It just didn’t work for me.
I also felt this book moved too slowly. I wanted more progress to be made than he did something then she did something back over and over again. The mobster/gypsy thing didn’t appeal to me either, sorry.

Lawless King - Natalie Bennett 3.5 stars.
I wanted to love this story, but it was kind of all over the place. Things weren’t explained, characters came in unannounced and unintroduced and it was a bit of a mess.
Story wise, things just happened just because. Nothing was fully formed or fleshed out.
Rhiannon was confusing as she obviously had a dark side, which wasn’t mentioned until it was convenient. I needed her to be definite.
I did like Judas. He was a solid bully character even if I thought it weird an almost 20 year old still being in high school.
As I said, I wanted to love this book, but it wasn’t put together enough for me to do so.

Wow! This story was absolutely fantastic ! I love how Rina creates these worlds of dark characters that you just can’t help but love! This was different than what I’m used to by Rina Kent but oh boy do I love it. Levi and Astrid were so perfect for each other in every way really , they both lost parents and they have more in common than they think. I’m so excited for this new series ! Can’t wait to read about Aiden King and please tell me we will get a story about Dan too ! Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 Overall this story gets a definite 5 stars from me ! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is a review for Merciless Knave by Esme Devlin ....

This was my first read by Esme Devlin and it was really good a little different because of the Scottish Region that it was written but still great story , great characters I enjoyed the banter between Tommy and Michelle and they had great chemistry. It was not really what I would consider dark it’s more lighter than what I thought it would be but it was refreshing to read so I’m going to give this one 5 stars from me !

I have read all the books in the box set and let me tell you this is definitely a good one!
All 5 of these books are standalone bully romances!
Each of the books are unique in their own way and they are all really good reads!

Lawless kingdom by Natalie Bennett
This was definitely different from Natalie’s usual books but OMG it was soo worth it and sooo good! I absolutely loved how Natalie dived into this genre and I absolutely enjoyed reading every second of it! Things get out of control and super hot!

Cruel king by Rina Kent
This was one if my first book by her! And i was not disappointed! I loved reading every minute of this one! Everyone has secrets and everyone wants power! Astrid having to move in with her dad when her mom dies is quite challenging in some ways especially when her dad orders her to stay away from the kings!
Well we all know the best laid plans never go quite how we imagine it to go! You guys will definitely love this one!

Merciless knave by Esme Devlin
Esme’s books always have me wanting more and this one was no different! The love/hate in this along with all that chemistry was off the charts! I absolutely loved this one

Brutal prince by Logan Fox
Loved this one! It was actually my first logan book and it had me on the edge of my seat to see what happened next!

Vicious knight by Nicole Cypher
Holy hell! I don’t even know cam and i want to smack him! Lol ooo his secret is a juicy one!
Okay cam is sort of cray cray lol I absolutely loved this! Even though Cam liked Eden he totally went about it the wrong way! But it was sooo good!

First of all, I’d like to say that I’ve read only one of the standalones - Merciless Knave written by Esme Devlin.

Usually, I read books either set in USA or written in such English that is not very region specific. This one is specific - Scottish type. Do not misunderstand - it is actually a good change in my rather boring reading preferences 😂 (HS Bullies of all types).

This book is like a sip of fresh water. I’ve been pretty tired of rich, entitled a**holes, founding families and their BS, billionaires, Preps or Academies for rich and entitled kids, etc. In most books that is the main pattern. One (me) can get pretty tired of it. This book was as close to the real world/actions and dialogues as it could (in order not to lose the things why so many people love bully romances). Of course, it is hard to read about poor bullies and poor the ONE that is bullied. Usually, these books are hard, emotional and not an entertainment for a boring evening. Esme Devlin’s book is the golden mean - a bit of rich, a bit of illegal things, a bit of everything, but still real.

Tommy wasn’t the man of your dreams, but he was lovable. Shelly was a bit spoiled brat, but still nice FMC.

The book was good.

*I reviewed an ARC received by the author’s team. The expressed opinion is my own.

CRUEL KING by Rina Kent!

Ahh, this was so good!!! This book is apart of the Noble Savages boxset and will be considered a spin-off of the new series that Rina is writing! Deviant King is book one and it comes out October 24th!

This story introduces the world of the Royal Elite. Set in the UK we follow Astrid and Levi as they play cat and mouse. The king wants his princess but the princess refuses to bow. Their world is full of past demons, current trauma, and plenty of angst. These two are HOT together.

I like this one because it had a subtle contemporary romance feel when they were together. The vulnerable moments are written so well it almost feels like a complete shift in the genre. It’s smooth with soft edges but it still cuts deep as hell.

The story behind the bullying (y’all know I hate when the reason is a bunch of bullshit. I like when my bullies have a good reason to do the bullying) was GOOD. There was a true story in this. It was bigger than high school and football, it was real life. Mental health issues, PTSD, secrets and lies, resentment and grief. It had a little bit of everything.

Levi King isn’t a character I’ll forget anytime soon. Aiden King though...I’m ready for his psycho ass. He’s going to tear me to pieces.

Cruel King by Rina Kent

This book was awesome! It is completely out of Rina’s normal assasin/mafia dark romance! This New Adult Bully Romance was full of angst and drama! Yet it wasn't petty or annoying! I loved how mature these characters were. The issues they had were real & it was fun!! I loved Levi and Astrid❤️
I am so excited for this series!!

Merciless Knave by Esme Devlin

This is my first book by Esme Devlin & now I want more!! I love arranged marriages and this is one about Scottish teens! I possibly have a very twisted sense of humor and found this to be the funniest Bully Romance I've ever read!
The the things that Michelle and Tommy do to one another are terrible but soooooo funny!! Then again I'm dark and twisty.
I love the sass and determination of Michelle and Tommy to hate each other and win their war!! The relationship rbah develops is satisfying and as in all of these stories these 18-year-olds feel closer to late 20s. So don't feel like a dirty cougar and just enjoy! 😘😘😘

* Have read Vicious Knight, by Nicole Cypher.

I enjoyed this story. Not the typical quarterback/bad boy dating the geeky girl. Eden witnesses something she didn't mean to (or want to) see, and is then tormented by her high school football team. But then Cam, the quarterback, sees a side of Eden he didn't expect... one that changes how he feels about the whole situation.

Characters in this book are manipulative and a little messed up, but the relationship between Cam and Eden takes a sweet turn, giving you the ending you hope for.

Rina Kent delivers such an epic read with Cruel King. This hs bully romance was so good I devoured it in one sitting. I couldn’t get enough of the push-pull between Astrid and Levi. This book is a must read. I am looking forward to the rest of the series!

There is something about bully romances that get me every time. This boxset will surely fill your need with all things hs and bully romance. The love hate between the characters will have you captivated. This is a boxset you don’t wanna miss!

This had a decent start and then I just started skimming towards the middle. I'm usually not a fan of the high school bully trope but this wasn't ~that~ bad. I liked that the h could hold her own and wasn't just taking the H's bullshit.

I wasn't such a fan of all the time spent on the mystery portion. I feel like I didn't have enough time of H/h growing closer and falling in love. In the end I wasn't sure where all the love suddenly came from.

Overall, ehhh.

Indi has had a tragic event in her life. She moves to her grandmothers house. She has a run in with Prince Briar. She ends up going to the same school as him. This book had my emotions all over the place. Dark and twisted story that will totally have you on the edge of your seat. I was so captivated by this story.
