Whoever heard of a vampire with a day job?

It's been a few months since Samantha Moon's not-quite-storybook life took a sudden and tragic turn, sending her kicking and screaming into undeath. Despite clear evidence of a deeper, supernatural reality, she tries to cling as much as possible to the routine she knows even as her marriage and career disintegrate before her eyes.

When her procedural suspension from HUD ends surprisingly without termination, she accepts reinstatement against her better judgment. Unfortunately, it soon becomes abundantly clear that she’s become highly incompatible with early mornings.

What's a vampire to do when she has bills to pay and kids to feed?

Sam makes a go of private investigation, but clients are scarce—until she finds one no other PI dares touch: a woman who believes something paranormal is responsible for her son’s disappearance.

Entertaining vampire listening 🎶

This is a kindle e-book novel from my Kindle Unlimited account book three in the series.

Another series complete.

Samantha Moon is adapting to being a vampire. She has to resign from HUD and become a private detective. Danny's job has changed with something going on. But they are working at being a family. Then a case come along about a missing boy which turns into a murder mystery. All ends happy for the family of the boy and the ghost of the woman murdered. Samantha is back with her family.

I would recommend this series and various authors to readers of vampire fantasy world 🌎 family and friends relationship mystery novels. 2024 👒🏡😡😘

After a disastrous quick there-and-back prisoner escort flight to London, Sam decides it’s time to quit her job before somebody gets really hurt. But financially she needs to find another job and Danny is determined to ‘fix her’ in order to protect the kids. But then, Sam’s sister Mary Lou comes up with the idea of Sam becoming a P.I.

Other than lost pets and background checks her first real case is looking for a boy who’s been missing in the mountains for two weeks. The mother claims she hears footsteps in the house late at night and her son calling to her and Sam feels something strange coming from the house.

Footnote: 1) I’ve never liked Barney either. In fact most of the little kid’s characters are annoying. Give me Mighty Mouse and the Roadrunner any day.

2) Seems like in the middle of nowhere (where there’s nobody around) it’s be ‘easier’ to abduct a child who’s just wandering around.

Fave scenes: the chase across the tarmac, the meeting with the ‘real’ psychic, Sam & Rufus and Danny’s teacup test.

Ghosts Exist?!

It was a bad idea to go back to HUD. Samantha should have known better. But she got out of that with a medical discharge and started looking into becoming a PI. That seems more her speed. When she takes a missing child's case things get weird. There is a resident ghost and a kid that disappeared into thin air. What does one have to do with the other? Samantha feels that she will be able to find the kid alive if she just figured things out. Is she kidding herself? Or is her intuition spot on? Who took the boy and where is he? Either way Sam is running out of ideas and time. Will she be able to save the day in her first big PI case? Or will she find a small dead body?

An excellent binge reading worthy reluctant vampire series.
Mrs. Moon continues struggling to care for her kids and family despite Danny's reluctance, withdrawal, and an apparent growing animosity.

This book picks up after Samantha is re-instated to her job at HUD, the job is quiet until Samantha and Chad have to take a prisoner to London. That is when everything goes wrong for her. Samantha truly realizes she has to resign before something bad happens.
All the while she is dealing with her marriage falling apart. Danny looks at her like a monster, treats her like she is no longer his same. Treating her like she will hurt the kids at any given moment. He is chasing ways to cure same, as he starts to change. She is trying hard to hold on to her family life and keeping everything normal for her kids.
This is the start of her becoming a PI, her first case is of a missing boy. How could the boy just vanish. What is the deal with the ghost? How is going to solve this case, as it is not what is appears. Was the boy kidnapped or did he run away and got lost. How come no one can find him. Only Samantha can solve this crime as it is heading to being supernatural in nature.
This book moved at a nice pace, showing more of Samantha's home life that the regular series does.
From her losing her job, family problems, trying to come to terms with being a vampire, I can't wait to see what book 4 has in store for us. Another great job from authors JR Rain and Matthew S Cox.
I recommend this anyone that enjoys a great written vampire story.

I received an ARC Copy of this book, this is my honest review

Good background story

I enjoyed reading this book. Anything about Samantha Moon written by J.R. Rain and Mathew Cox is definitely worth reading. I have read all the Samantha Moon books. This one is interesting in that it goes into how Sam ended up being a private investigator.
