The author paints a vivid picture. She does a wonderful job combining a dystopia with ancient culture and futuristic technology. It shouldn’t work, but it does. The characters and world created are very intriguing. I want to know more… more about this world, how the Dominion came to be, what’s up with these weather witches mentioned, and what’s next for Nicte and Ish.
As short stories go, it did its job well and left this reader wanting. I look forward to exploring this world in future publication.

Intriguing! An interesting short that introduces this new world of technology, magic and myths. It was a little confusing at times with the jumps in times. But it did spark my interest and I can’t wait to discover more.

Daphne Moore is a fantasy and science fiction novelist to watch, her worlds rich with ominous possibility and chaotic power, her style clear, mature and laced with humour that swings between dry and sardonic and delightfully mischievous. Circle's End introduces us to the world of the future, a cautionary tale of technology sought and magic found. Political realities and all-too-human nature are depicted with scathing accuracy and the question is will passion and magic be enough to overcome them?
A wonderful and absorbing read from an author I'll be following avidly.

When Nicte finally is freed she is determined to free her people from the Dominion reign. She bartered her freedom to save her family. Now it is time to free them all . There is only one problem she has no weapons or magic the only hope she has is to find the ancient legend to help her. She doesn't even know if this legend is still even alive . Until the day she finds Alfonso Gonzales who is now possessed by the legend she is looking for . She will do anything to get him to help her but will the reluctant legend want to help .

The characters in this short story are well written , It took me a bit to get to like them . NIcte well she is feisty and wants to remember what happened to her . She wants to help her family and friends . I felt that the author wanted to have her totally wiped clean of all memories . Alfonso well he just wants to be left alone . He comes off as a gruff grumpy man . How is pretty good looking too, They are lost souls who need each other but really have a hard time getting past the loneliness to become what each wants and needs .

This short story is one of those that when you sit down to read it , it takes you a bit to get into the story. But when you do you are in for an edge of your seat ride . The characters awr well written . I would of liked to see the author dive a bit more into them but alas I know it is a short story . I wish we could of seen a little bit more of the legend of Ish . It was sometimes confusing without knowing the full story behind the legend . The author does a good job of mixing dystopia, ancient cultures and future tech together seamlessly . I can't wait to read more in this series . See where the author takes us . So if you want a good story that you will be thinking over add this to your spring break reading .

Diving into this one, I won't lie, it was a bit hard to get into.
Starting out right away we are introduced to Nicte fleeing from the Dominion. Once she's free beyond the reaches of them, she's determined to find Alfonso Gonzales to invoke an ancient legend to end the Dominion's reign.
However, she soon learns that Alfonso sacrificed himself and is now possessed by a spirit called Ish.

When I say that this one had parts that confused me, I think a lot of it is because as I was reading I was still trying to comprehend what I had just read previously. I wish we would've gotten a bit more about the legend that Nicte is trying to invoke.
