WILL A SHY ARTIST AND A CHEESE-LOVING BILLIONAIRE FIND LOVE CHASING A DREAM? Paige spends her days working at a job she doesn’t like and spends her evenings working on her art and launching an online graphic design business—using a nickname so her day job won’t find out. Her quiet, solitary life is interrupted when she meets a handsome jogger on the trails, and he asks her out. She’s never been good at talking to strangers, but he is worth the effort. Mac dreams of watching people enjoy his food and decides it’s time to make that happen. But he doesn’t want people showing up at the food truck just because he’s a billionaire, so he keeps his real name out of it. He hires a graphic designer to help him brand the food truck, and she immediately gets his vibe. Exchanging emails becomes a highlight of his day until he spots a woman on the trails sketching a fairy tale scene. He’s captivated and asks her out. Conversation is difficult with her one-word answers, but he’s interested enough to keep trying. One date leads to another, and Mac feels guilty about spending time with the artist while exchanging emails with the designer, but his relationship with the designer is strictly professional. Or so he keeps telling himself. But soon, Mac is more excited about surprising Paige with his food truck than he is about meeting the designer when the truck opens. But opening night doesn’t go as planned, and Mac chases what’s important. The choice is easy. Convincing her may be a bit harder.
Remi Carrington is the figment of Pamela Humphrey's imagination. She loves romance & chocolate, enjoys disappearing into a delicious book, and considers people-watching a sport. She was born in the pages of the novel Just You and then grew into an alter ego.
She writes sweet romance set in Texas. Her new series, Bluebonnets & Billionaires, will launch in Jan 2019. Her books are part of the Phrey Press imprint.
I loved this book! No cursing, jumping into bed and totally nasty ex girlfriends. No man-whore and dubious morals. No demanding alpha male thinking he is God’s gift to women. Just clean happy romance. I needed something light and wholesome and this book delivered.
He'd sold his company, dedicated to pursuing a dream, but he'd done almost nothing to make it happen. He'd bought the truck, but nothing else.
That made no sense to me at all.
Leaving the food on the counter, he ran back to jump in the shower and wash off the stink. (euw)
He then scooped up the kittens and takes them into the bedroom ... at this point he has already had his shower - so why on earth do we THEN read ...... After one of the quickest showers on record...
I lost patience with the writing. It was sloppy, badly edited and proof read and I ended up re-reading sentences several times in an effort to make sense of them.
Mac is a billionaire by inheritance and would never really have to work. But he has a dream, that is: two dreams. He loves cooking, but instead of opening his own restaurant under his own name, he wants to challenge life incognito and experience life in a food truck - to feel genuine success, not something that was achieved through his father's money. His second dream is to find a woman who will love him and not just his money. Paige is a designer and Mac hires her to design his logo and other paraphernalia to do with his food truck. Without knowing that they have a business connection online, Paige and Mac meet in real life and fall for each other. A fairly straight forward love story with a few comical elements. Otherwise a really sweet love story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the 5th book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. This is a story about going after your dreams and finding love along the way. This is Mac and Paige’s story.
This story was sweet with likable characters. Mac and Paige have had different upbringings, he comes from a wealth and she comes from middle class. They both are searching to find themselves and start over in careers that satisfy them. They meet by chance and the story takes off almost immediately.
There is a little secret between them for most of the story, some family drama, romance and an overall sweet relationship. I wanted to like it more than I did, but I felt like I was missing something. I wanted a little more depth to the characters and their relationship. I may be In the minority based on the other reviews, but this was just an ok read for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Paige wants a new career as a graphic designer so she sets up a web page using her first name, Aggie. Mac has decided to fulfill a dream of running a food truck serving cheesy sandwiches. First he meets Paige while she was drawing on a trail and is instantly attracted. Then he sees Aggies website and hires her to design his logo for his truck. Then the fun really begins because he conversed with Aggie as Mr. Douglas. So Paige/Aggie stays in contact with Mac/Mr. Douglas and the romance between Paige and Mac grows. The ending of the story has many twists and turns but ends up as expected. This is a fun entertaining read
Cheesy Romance With The Billionaire is a romance that comes together like one of the cheesy movies you see on tv. It has so many name changes and email connections that the couple that met on the hiking trail didn't know they had been working together until the night the food truck was actually unveiled. But that night changed so much about Paige and Mac's life that it never would be the same. This story does keep itself on track to have a happily ever after to make this story a wonderful read.
Working my way through this series at a rapid pace, Paige and Mac’s story is a new favourite. They’re great leads, with a great journey about pursuing your dreams. As with all Remi Carrington stories, they’re supported by great secondary characters, and in this story, two super adorable kittens.
Perfect sweet read for days where you want to be happy, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Sorry but cheesy definitely describes this story. I have been reading from an early age and this was definitely a form story. There was no connection between the parties, as a matter of fact I felt no connection to anyone in this book, including the friends. I won’t waste more of my time on this author and I am sorry to say I was really looking forward to someone new to read.
Shy sweet Paige is just looking forward to getting her design career off to a good stop what she was not expecting was Mac to come into her life giving her a chance to break out of her shy shell, while he pursues his dream of opening a food truck instead of a being the typical trust fund kid. I like the way the sparks slowly build between Paige and Mac and I enjoy the banter. I really didn't want this one to be over and yet I still want more.
I really wanted to like this one. The characters were interesting and so was the premise. But I just couldn't get around the writing. I hate saying that, but that was my experience. And two borrow from one of the themes of the book, if you will, I just found the writing too cheesy. After chapter 5, I skipped to the end and read a little bit of that just to see how it ended.
This was a sweet contemporary romance. I liked Mac and Paige, and it was fun seeing them be drawn to one another both in person and through email. I forgot it was a billionaire romance (which I don’t like) but besides a few references to it, it wasn’t as big a deal in this story, which I liked.
Paige is Interesting, she is a coder but is a graphic artist. She meets Mac while drawing. He takes a liking to her, he hired someone to design a logo for his new adventure. This story is so much fun. This whole series is great.
The topic was cheese, the theme was cheese and the billionaire was starting a food truck business featuring cheese. Pun intended, it was cheesy, but in a cute hallmark kind of way. You won’t burn brain cells reading it but it’s cheesy fantasy l
His keeping his bank account a secret and going by a different name was one thing, but she was a bundle of contradictions, or so he thought. A cute story with a couple of kitties added
This series of 8 stories has been lovely to read - with laughter and tears and smiles and big sighs - as the characters all come together for their HEA based on love and trust and friendship and honesty.
A delightfully mind-blowing story of remarkable devotion between two people made for each other who find, meet, and attract each other in different ways and circumstances!
Cheesy Romance with the Billionaire #5 – I love the books by both Carrington and Humphrey (OK, they are the same person) and I admit was curious and unsure about the title. OK, it made sense later when I read the book, which I enjoyed as I did the first four of the Bluebonnets and Billionaire Series. After reading so many good books in a series I want to write a book report instead of a review; can’t help it when a series tickles my fancy, gushing is automatic. The good storylines, the good and usually sweet characters and the extreme talent of this author’s appears in her writing style and descriptive scenes. Do not expect any stupidity formula. Ms. C-H always has originality in her work. Expect delightful, heartwarming and plenty of humor mixed with a sweet romance. 5*
Bluebonnets & Billionaires series: Dating the Billionaire's Granddaughter #0 - I love this author's work (AKA Pamela Humphrey) and this series is another reading treat from one of my favorite authors. Set in San Antonio, (yes, a very important character, to me) this well written, sweet romance is so easy to get immersed in and the pages fly by too quickly. The storylines are interesting and the characters add to the weave of the story. Most are likable, actually Grandpa is OK, he's just not reasonable. Good mechanics are worth their weight in gold. Ms. C does a wonderful job with her descriptions, leaving the reader with clear pictures upon which to build upon in their imaginations. I was lucky enough to have the second book of this series, so it was a fun, entertaining chain read. I contacted the author to review her books. 5*
Next Door to the Billionaire #1 - We're still in San Antonio, a wonderful character on its own. The same characters from the first book Dating the Billionaire's Granddaughter are still with us. The romantic couple is just as fun and entertaining as DTBG. Again, the storylines weave with the characters into a good paced, entertaining, clean story that makes it hard to put the book down. It would be so easy to give a book report on these two lovely books, but I don't want to rob you of a good stories that make you laugh, and feel good when you finish the books. I contacted the author to review her books and received this book through Booksprout. 5*
Charmed by the Billionaire #2 - Another delightful story from one of my favorite authors. This is a well written, sweet romance just like the other two books in this series. The storylines weave a delightful story that's easy to get lost in the pages and hard to put down. The characters are likeable and work well together. Ms. C does a good job with describing everyone and everything without the boring details, but still clear and vivid. While not important to read in order, there's just a depth added from knowing all the characters and their stories as they appear. 5*
Second Chance with the Billionaire #3 - Another delightful addition to the Bluebonnets & Billionaires Series. I love this author's work and this book is another fun way to spend a little time getting lost in a heartwarming and sweet romance. The storylines and interesting characters keep the reader's interest and make it difficult to put down. Ms. Carrington has talent when it comes to storytelling and her vivid descriptions just place the reader in the mist of the story - good ole fly on the wall. I contacted Ms. Humphrey to review her books. 5*
Surprised by the Billionaire #4 – Another delightful, sweet addition to the series. I enjoy reading the stories of Ms. Carrington/Humphrey as they are always about real people that you feel you know or have met. In other words, her characters are realistic and interesting with good dialog. The storylines always keep my interest and the pace is steady without any boring spots or silliness. Sorry for the boring review, but it’s so hard to write a review on this series without turning it into a book report; there is so much good but you need to discover that for yourself. Although it is not necessary, I recommend reading the books in order since the characters sometimes appear in another story, like Gemma did in Charmed #2. I contacted the author to review her books. 5* Bluebonnets & Billionaires series end.
