The recent abduction of a four-year-old girl may be linked to a thirty-year-old case. Jessica Donovan, the mother of the missing girl, will stop at nothing to bring her home. Even if that means digging up the truth about her past.

James Hunt's passion for writing began at an early age. While his journal of yesteryear may never be the work of great fiction, he's been working hard every day since then to bring pages to life. James has well over a decade of writing under his belt, but his professional career in literature didn't take off until 2014.
James currently lives in Orlando, FL and when he's not pounding away at the keyboard you can find him at the theater or somewhere outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
Interesting, fast paced, kidnapping mystery, good vs. evil, rich and powerful against the rest of us, politicians in the pocket of the privileged. This had it all but somehow the ending was somewhat anticlimactic. Lost it's punch in the last few pages. Actually there didn't seem to be any closure at all. Not even a readers imagined one.
I really liked the novel,by the 1st.chapter,I was completely drawn in.The detective, lady and Annie were well.written characters. This is definitely, not my usual genre' but I'm always interested, when it's got to do with small, kids, small, towns and mystery.
This story has many facets in it dealing with the battle between good and evil, poverty and helplessness versus power and wealth, family relationship issues as well as other heavy subject matters.
OMG I really liked this book! I read mostly crime novels, and this one didn't disappoint at all! I was grabbed from the beginning, felt the emotions Jessica was dealing with, with her ex-husband and then during her journey of trying to find her young daughter along with the help of Mills, the "rogue" cop who was trying to help her. As they dealt with various villains, most of whom were part of the power hungry family of her ex, the detective never left her side. I am not a fan of romance novels in general but I was really thinking that Mills and Jessica would wind up together, given how close they became during the search for her daughter. I refuse to give away any more information about that, but I definitely recommend this book to those of you who are fans of crime drama novels. It's definitely a 5*! It's a rather long book but it goes by quickly. I started reading yesterday afternoon and finished at about 4 this afternoon. About 24 hours including my time to sleep and eat.
Another good thriller by the author, that grabs you from the beginning. Jessica is in search of her missing daughter. Does her ex and his power hungry family have anything to do with it. Good match with the cop Mills who doesn’t always go by the book. Enjoyed the narration and thought it was well done. Given audio for my voluntary review
A good book to have read. The pages turn quickly and easily with the fast pace of the story. Only disappointed with the direction of some of the story. But overall a book worth reading.
Scary, heart stopping suspenseful all the way. I enjoyed this tale even as it had me worried about what would happen next. Interesting characters, some I hope to never meet.
Her young child had disappeared and it may be linked to a 30 year old case. Can she find her child? Can she solve the mystery? What will she find out? See if she can get her child back

I read this in one night, it grabbed my attention from the start. The characters were strong, and brave. I wish there was a second or follow up to this story.
Great book by James Hunt as usual. Should have swapped this one with the one before it. Now we know how it ends..... Thanx James Hunt. Love your writing
The book had me up until the last pages. A very dramatic situation and suddenly it is three months later. What happened ? How was the situation resolved? Not wanting to give away the ending-did the `evil person`die, confess or what? Felt as if the author had to finish to meet a deadline.
Wasn't sure when I started reading whether I would like it. Surprisingly, once i got past the intro the story became more interesting for me.
The twists and turns in the story kept me guessing as to the who and the why. Wasn't until I was almost to the end that it all fell into place and provided a surprise that was truly well done.
Worth reading it you like a good psychological thriller.
Detective Mills is amazing although he does have the same swag as previous Detectives in James Hunt books. I wish Mills and Jessica would have moved their relationship further but since she’s moving it made since to let the friendship linger.
This Small town was run by a cold, unfeeling man and his son's whom he trained to be as depraved as he was. Everyone of authority in town followed his orders. Over the years someone had kidnapped children, kept them for awhile and returned them tattooed and not remembering anything. When J's daughter is kidnapped she begins having flashbacks of her own abduction years ago. One cop, a new hire, decides to help her find her daughter when the local police don't seem interested. This story of their harrowing experiences will keep you reading into the night.
A good story line, tho one most would never think of happening. A woman in a small town married a rich man but later found him not who she thought he was when they married. She had an affair and had a daughter named Annie. They still stayed together and he raised her as his daughter for a few years. Then things change when she tried to divorce him. She had gone thru a horrible thing when she was young and now that Annie was born things see like back then. A long hard road later they finally found the true story to it all. I wish the story could have ended happier by using a few more simple words .
When a young child is abducted in a small Kansas town, a mother begins her tireless search to bring her little girl home. But solving the case of her daughter’s disappearance unearths the traumas of her past. These forgotten memories could hold the key to finding her daughter before it’s too late.
This was a brilliant read. I loved the characters that have been created for this story. Amazingly written plot and story line. Truly every mothers worst nightmare. Recommend reading.

I highly recommend this story in "A Riveting Small Town Mystery" series. When a child is abducted it is every mother's worst nightmare, but what if the key to the abductor is hidden in your memories?
This book was very well developed and had a great storyline. It kept me riveted from start to finish, a real page-turner.

Loved this full of action, and a lot heartache/soul searching. How does a mother who's child has been abducted cope? It's a nightmare that no parent should ever have to go through. But to find her child she must re-visit past memories, memories she has tried hard to bury yet may hold the key to finding her child. Loved the characters and this was well written. As a mother myself found myself really squirming at the thought of one of my kids going missing and how I would cope.
This is a brilliant plot with twists and turns and lots of drama, emotion and mystery that held me captive to the end of the book. I have loved previous books by this author and this one once again did not disappoint. The topic of the story in itself is one that is always emotional and intense, and the author captured that perfectly. This is a great story and a must read.

I began this book with a lot of trepidation. I read the author review and wondered if it would be worth my time. Wow. Mr Hunt builds a compelling story. His plot so unbelievable it’s mesmerizing. His characters real, human, flawed and fascinating. This is a tale of evil verses good that is more than worth the read. I will search out more of his work.
