No vienas puses, ir ļoti grūti lasīt tādu grāmatu, kuras mērķis ir likt tev apsēsties un pievērsties meditācijai un pamazām ieviest 5-6 dienu rutīnu,kur tu mēģini meditēt. Grāmatā ir sniegts apraksts soli pa solim kā to darīt, ir arī CD (kurš man nav), ko uzlikt paklausīties, bet es lasu un domāju, ka gan jau kādreiz savā mūžā to darīšu, bet tagad es tikai gribu steigt šo izlasīt, lai lasītu nākamo grāmatu.

A very good book about mindfulness. It introduces you to the topic very easily and in an understandable way. This book in particular presents mindfulness for people who work in creative sectors. And what I found best, is that all the methodology is sustained by scientific research and data, as well as testimonials from people who have used this method for improving their lives and work.

A good introduction to mindfulness. This was a gift from a friend who knows me to be creative (artistic), but this book is about having a creative approach to everyday matters. It is a good way to get into mindfulness though.

This has value as a concept. As a book, it is only mediocre. Access to the guided meditations also need to be better executed.

This is just as good as the 'Mindfulness: An Eight-Week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World, also by Mark Williams & Danny Penman - but just on a different thread. The meditations are spot on and as well as helping concetration made me very relaxed (yes I have fallen asleep once or twice!). I'd recomend this to anyone who is new to mindfulness and wants an honest and professional guide to help them out.

Putting in the work

Mindfulness for creativity, it really provided the tools to develop creativity, the more you practise the better you get.
Like many books with similar theme, putting the work is a challenge itself, however later than sooner will paid off.
The reading of the book is easy going and I've enjoyed the audio and tasks.

My rating is perhaps as much for the concept as the content of this book. However, the concepts are simply and clearly explained, and are backed up with a good mix of science, and feedback from previous participants in the exercises discussed.

Brilliant, simple program. Very encouraging. One of the better ones I've read. No fluff, no ego from the writer. Really, really good and helpful. Nothing overly complicated or intricate . I feel much more present and am more capable of handling stress since this book

Good but annoyingly familiar

There's a lot to like in this book but there is also a big overlap with another Mindfulness book by Mark Williams and Danny Penman which I had already read.

The links to audio are also unusable if you're reading this on an android phone.

This book just gives you basic meditation techniques, with no particular impact on creativity at all.
Basically just says: Do this for a few weeks and you’ll see results.

This is one I actually wanted to go into more detail and stories.

2 stars for the tea meditation.

Starting week 4 tomorrow but finished the book this evening! It was wonderful; life-changing and life-affirming. An absolute must for anyone feeling burnt out in their creative endeavors, or life in general!

I bought this book after reading passages from it in a Mindfulness course in college. I will be coming back to it in the new year to complete the 4 week challenge.

Having read two out of three of Danny Penman mindfulness books, the other one being, “Mindfulness: A practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World”, I personally found the “Mindfulness for creativity” more helpful. I think this was because I much preferred the meditations in this book compared to the other one, but I also learnt a lot more in this book, whereas in the other one it covered topics I already had a lot of knowledge on. If you are a blogger, run your own business, or your job requires you to come up with ideas and to think outside the box, I would highly recommend this book. If you are still very new to mindfulness then I would recommend the other book, ““Mindfulness: A practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World”, because I feel the creativity book is for more advanced meditators. I would like to say though that this book asks you to meditate twice a day, six out of seven days a week, which I think is far too unrealistic. I started out meditating one day a week for the first year!! It’s up to you how you use this book, but I think this is a high expectation for most beginner meditators.

I cannot recommend this book enough if you have a creative mind that needs to structure thoughts in order to activate the making of something. Learning mindfulness meditation has been the blessing I have needed all these years to get things in order and produce all the stuff I do. Read it. Make stuff. Repeat!

I stumbled on this book in a bookstore, and am so glad I took it home! It's made the whole idea of building in meditation into my life such a natural process, and has really made me realise how powerful a tool meditation can be, not just in thinking more creatively, but also in dealing with the crazy pace of life in the modern world.
