Gripping, heart-stopping, and an incredibly epic journey with a twist you'll never see coming. USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn, brings you a modern take on an old fashion romance that will leave you breathless and wanting more.

This isn’t a story about a love triangle. There is no triangle involved.
This isn’t a story about an accidental pregnancy. Although having a baby with her . . . I would.
This isn’t a story about lies and deception, even though at times I’ve lied to myself.

No, this is my story.

A story about sacrifice.
A story about a man who fell in love with the wrong girl.
A story I wish I never had to tell.
I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost.

But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed.

One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks. Smart. Charming. Beautiful. Rory changed everything.

Quickly, my one-track mind, my goals started to bend.

Each kiss faded decade-long dreams.

And with one single interaction, I flew off course.

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

Holy moly!

Okay, so there’s hot and then there’s hot!

This was one emotional rollercoaster of a book and it had me hooked from the very first word out of Joe’s (male narrator) mouth.

Remember me saying I wanted to find a narrator that ‘worked’ for me? Well, here he is!

Now I’m gonna warn you…this one was full of pain.

Like utterly heartbreaking, snot running over your top lip, ugly cry, pain.

ANGST!! Och, in the name o’ the wee man!

Lol, but seriously these books are so well written.

I‘m not going to say too much about the storyline other than the fact that it’s a love triangle (two women, one hot dude) and best friends to lovers with a military factor and a twist you will not see coming.

SEX SCENES

Jesus Christ on a scooter!

“Ryan, I need to fuck you. I’m so goddamn hard right now.” “Then fuck me.” “It’s going to be hard.” “I want it hard.” Shit, as if I didn’t think I could get anymore stiff, she says something like that. Before I enter her, I smooth my hand along the slope of her back, to her shoulder blade, and then underneath to her breast. So goddamn full. Lightly, I wrap my hand around her long blonde hair and tug her gently. “Lift up,” I command, guiding her so her back is pressed against my chest, her ass cradling my dick. Still holding on to her hair, I bring my head forward so I can get a view of her breasts from this angle. “I’m going to fuck your tits later.” I pull her head to the side and kiss along her neck while I stroke her nipples. I continue to whisper in her ear, “I’ve always considered myself an ass and legs man, but right now, I’m making a change.” “Do whatever you want to me. I’m yours for the night.” I shake my head. “Nah, sweetheart, you’re not mine, we’re each other’s. Use me for your pleasure, and I’ll use you for mine.” On a gasp, she says, “Deal.” I press a few kisses on her neck before I whisper in her ear, “Now bend over and brace yourself.” I press on her back and help her down before placing my swollen cock at her entrance. Preparing myself, I take a deep breath and then fully insert myself, bottoming out in one smooth stroke. She tightens up at first, her hands gripping the sheets, but then slowly starts to relax as she adjusts around my girth. “Oh . . . my . . . God,” she breathes out. “Sorry, sweetheart. Can’t hold back. Are you okay?” “Yeah.” She rests her hands under her cheek, elbows winged out, and says, “Fuck me.” Feeling like I hit the lottery, I grab hold of her hips, steadying her, and start to move my hips in and out, my length gliding along her slick channel, squeezing me tightly. Shit, I’m going to come fast. She’s so tight, and with each stroke I make, she pulses around me, contracting purposefully. I’ve never experienced anything like it, and it has me seeing fucking stars with each stroke. “Jesus Christ,” I mumble as I move in and out of her a little faster. “You feel so damn good, Ryan. So damn good.” “You’re so . . . big,” she gulps. “I’m going to come, again.” “Not yet. Not there.” She moans and buries her forehead in the sheets. “I’m there, Colby. God.” She starts to tighten around me, her orgasm hitting her harder and faster than I expected. She screams out my name, her body tensing around me as I thrust my hips harder. Sweat eclipses me, my body starting to float, an all-consuming pleasure starting to ripple up my spine as I make two more pushes inside her.

Final Thoughts on THE DUETS by Meghan Quinn

I really enjoyed these books. They were emotional and hot AF and considering you get all 4 books in one boxset, meaning it only takes 1 Audible credit it’s an awesome deal.

The narration was also spot on!

I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Reviewing the whole box set.
These characters get to you and worm their way into your heart.
There were books I didn’t feel the connection and then the next book I would get why. It’s a unique experience to keep listening when you are so unsure if you liked the book or if you didn’t. I know that doesn’t make a lot of sense but I struggled with parts of each book only get understand later that we needed that hmmm moment. It made me appreciate the stories over all.

All these characters are interesting and have something to say I am so glad I had the opportunity to listen because I truly enjoyed them. I am a recent fan of Meghan’s and I am so very glad I am because she gives you all the romance with little drama and that is a huge win for me.

The bonus at the end was awesome and I can’t wait to hear more from those characters.

Fantastic narration, they really give each character a voice I loved it.

I felt like my heart fell out of my mouth at least once per book....especially at the end of The Upside of Falling!!!! So beautifully written and heartbreaking and healing and entertaining and just...gaaahhhh! MUST READ! Five stars, if there were more available I’d give it all of those stars too.

Four books in one boxset
The Upside of Falling
The Downside of Love
The Left Side of Perfect
The Right Side of Forever
Do you know what that means? You get four audiobooks for only one credit. Two duets back to back. It’s a complete and utter bargain. One warning though. You’ll need to purchase plenty of tissues. The boxset follows Colby Brooks, a fighter pilot wannabe (gonna be), along with his best friend Strider and the girls that rock their world and turn it upside down, Rory and Ryan. It would appear that they all have emotional baggage, they all need each other in one way or another. Nothing though is straightforward, and if they’re going to get a happy ever after they’re going to have to work for it. My heart was ripped in two throughout, and just when I thought things were looking up. Obstacles left, right and centre. Bam! Something else happened to throw me off the loop. Lots of emotional drama and lots of tears shed. So sexy, so romantic, and oh what a love story. Fantastic characters, a wonderful story, I was riveted from the get-go. Add in Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell narrating and I was in audio heaven.

Audio Review: The Duets by: Meghan Quinn, Narrated by Joe Arden & Maxine Mitchell

Whether you laugh, cry or scream, you will never forget a Meghan Quinn novel. She looks at life from ever angle and finds the bright side in the darkest moments. The Duets series is an emotional whirlwind of stunning twists, heartaching losses and lessons learned. Prolifically stunning romance brought to life by deeply moving narration and irresistible heart.

There is no reward, without learning to take risks. The sweetest fantasy can turn into the most heartbreaking romance. Life like love has a way of veering off course before we hit smooth sailing again. The Upside of Falling is the act of learning to take chances. The Downside of Love is The lessons learned along the way.

Breathtaking, heartbreaking, unpredictable. The Left Side of Perfect is the beginning of flying blind. The Right Side of Forever is one heartbreak short of a teardrop. Each time Quinn knocks you down, she lifts you up with moments of optimism and the presence of hope. It's a long road to the happy ending, but one that was well worth the wait.

The Upside of Falling/The Downside of Love - Colby is focused on his dream of becoming a fighter pilot and Rory is one of the few people that he has allowed to come close. They know that it is only a matter of time until Colby has to leave but even that can’t stop their hearts from becoming involved. After he leaves life goes on, decisions are made, feelings change, and a different life begins. You make the best choices that you can all the while knowing that the consequences could be painful for some or all.

The Left Side of Perfect/The Right Side of Forever – Our hero was dreading that he would be attending the wedding of his ex but when he sees “Her” she helps him get through the painful evening but never expected to see her again however fate throws them together and they became great friends. She comes into his life when he least expects it but when he needs her the most, however will she derail the plans he already had for the future?

I have enjoyed both these duets and it is great to have them in one collection. I listed to the audiocopy of this book and thought that the narrators were the perfect choice for the characters and angst of the story.

I'm reviewing the Audio of The Duets by Meghan Quinn, narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, with bonus content of a short story, Mr. Klein is Fine, narrated by Connor Crais and Maxine Mitchell.

The Duets is a 4 book series comprising the The Upside of Falling, The Downside of Love, The Left Side of Perfect and The Right Side of Forever. All four books must be read in order, and you want to read all 4 even though they are technically two duets. I can't go into too much detail in the review because there is no way to summarize or detail without giving major spoilers, and I'm not going to do that. These are also not traditional duets that you may be used to in the romance genre. I have been reading Meghan Quinn for quite a while, and these books are unlike any of her other books in my opinion. They are far more emotional and angsty than her Baseball, Dating By the Numbers, and Port Snow series. The Duets will not fit the bill if you are looking for a rom-com, or some low-angst contemporary romance.

What can I say? This is over 30 hours during which you will experience every emotion known to man. These will not be fleeting emotions, either. You will alternately feel sad, heartbroken, angry, betrayed and elated. These are slow burns, with HEAs that are hard fought and earned. Here it is, days later, and I'm still mad at some of the characters, still happy for others, and just a heap of emotions as I try to write this review.

There were times when, if I was reading this as a paperback, I would have thrown the book across the room in frustration and anger. I thankfully did not throw my iPad, but I did have to hit pause and take off the headphones for a little while to give my heart and soul some time to recover before moving forward. Meghan Quinn wrote such an emotional saga (yes, saga) that would give some of the most beloved telenovellas and soap operas a run run for their money. When I was angry with the characters, it was the quality of the writing that kept me coming back for more. Honestly, I'm glad that I had the audio and the complete set of all 4 books because I may not have come back for more if I just had the first one because I was heartbroken, and I would have missed out on the rest of the journey.

The dual narration by Joe Arden (for the male POV chapters) and Maxine Mitchell (for the female POV chapters) was top notch, and it is what kept me on this roller coaster. Joe and Maxine infused so much emotion in their performances, and there was a real rawness in the delivery of the material. Their narration, coupled with the quality of the writing by Meghan Quinn, sustained me through this wild ride.

Things to know/keep in mind as you venture into this saga:
1. These are not traditional duets that follow two characters in a committed relationship in both pairs of books.
2. There is no cheating, no love triangles, no dating multiple people at one time.
3. Trigger warning for people that have had emotionally abusive or physically abusive parental relationships.
4. You will be angry at points, and some of that anger may linger for a good long while.
5. Meghan Quinn will throw so many twists and turns at you and you will wonder if you are coming or going. If you only know her for her Baseball and Port Snow series, this is a different side of Meghan Quinn.
6. If you didn't already love Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, you will.

As for the bonus audio of Mr. Klein is Fine, that was a much more fun novella, kind of like the well-earned dessert after a long day of hard work. The Duets will put you through your paces, and the novella will give you some joy and some levity to help you recover. Kind of like pickle juice after a hard workout, it helps you recover and recharge so you can go about your business. Connor Crais and Maxine Mitchell are excellent in the bonus novella, too. I'm looking forward to more from Connor Crais, who is an up-and-coming narrator in the Romance genre.

I had the opportunity to receive a ALC copy of these books. There are four included in the audio, all narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell. A bonus treat, is the novella, Mr. Klein is Fine at the end of the four books narrated by Connor Crais and Maxine Mitchell.

Book 1: The Upside of Falling
Book 2: The Downside of Love
Book 3: Left Side of Perfect
Book 4: Right Side of Forever
Novella: Mr. Klein is Fine

Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are spectacular in all four of these books. My heart went on an epic ride. I was completely sucked into these books where we explored the love stories of four characters. The first books, I was in complete shock with the plot twist at the ending, that I didn't even see it coming. It seriously tugged at my heart, and I immediately had to start the second book as it was a part of the first duet. The ending of the first two books was not what I expected, but I left it feeling satisfied that each character ended with somewhat of a happy ending.

The second set of duets picks up with a character from the first duet. The characters do overlap a bit and I found myself fascinated once again with Joe and Maxine's story telling. This plot had a similar concept, but the it the plot was somewhat flipped. Gosh, that ending of the Left Side of Perfect had me in tears, hoping that a particular someone would get their happy ending as well. I wasn't disappointed in the Right Side of Forever. I was rooting for these characters and ultimately felt like I knew them personally by the end of all the books.

Overall, Meghan Quinn does an excellent job sucking you into the story, and connecting emotionally with the characters and the story. The performances of Joe and Maxine will leave your heart worn out from the ride, but ultimately happy.

The Novella, Mr. Klein is Fine is a sweet treat at the end of this box set! Connor Crais has become one of my favorite one click narrators! His "female voice" of Lindsey in this novella is sweet and spot on! Maxine Mitchell is great as well. This novella is just a sweet, feel good story!

To say I loved The Duets is an understatement. I absolutely devoured the books and the audio was no different. Narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, these two brought all four books to life in a way I couldn’t even imagine. I felt every single emotion right along with the characters, Rory, Stryker, Colby and Ryan. The love, friendship, loss and understanding all came right to the forefront with these narrators. Hands down one of the best audio books I’ve ever listened to!

Oh-my-Gaaaah! Meghan you genius! I’ve just finished listening to The Duets, a 31 hour collection of four books, with such great stories that I feel like a shot of joy has been injected into my system and I have a huge smile on my face!

This is what Meghan Quinn’s books do to me. Added to the fact that the storyline is awesome, Joe Arden nailed it with his narration of both Colby and Strider, and even if it took me a while to organize my hearing to both characters – and the same happened to Maxine Mitchell, who did a tremendous job as both Rory and Ryan –, his voice is simply addictive! Holy crap, I get all sweaty just by him saying: “my girl”. LOL! Isn’t it how a great audiobook narration is supposed to make you feel? I accept nothing less than that!

The Duets tells the story of people who were meant to be together but don’t exactly realize that at first. They need to face obstacles and go through many things in order to get their happily ever after.

In these four books – The Upside of Falling, The Downside of Love, The Left Right of Perfect and The Right Side of Forever – we meet a group of friends who have their stories intertwined by destiny and don’t refrain from enjoying what life brings their way. However, there are traumas and inner battles they’ve yet to fight, in order to conquer what they’re really meant to have: a life filled with love and happiness.

While listening to this collection I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I had flutters in my chest, I got angry, I screamed at Meghan, told myself I wasn’t gonna listen to the rest of the story, went back to listening to it and had a blast!

“The journey was a son of a bitch but the end result was worth it.” Hot damn, was it WORTH IT!

FIVE EPIC STARS!

**When reviewing all 4 books it’s hard to not include any spoilers so fair warning that this contains some

The upside of falling. Colby Brooks is plane crazy. ✈️All he’s ever wanted is to work hard and focus on fulfilling his dream of becoming a pilot. The pain and heartache from his childhood has pushed him to be to the best he can be to achieve his goal, even if it means pushing everyone away. Then he meets Rory who’s at the party with Ryan and refuses to take no for an answer. The banter and connection between these two will have you swooning. I absolutely loved Ryan’s character and I was in stitches of laughter. She’s playful, has a dirty mind and no filter which is so refreshing and great to read. Colby and Ryan are in new relationships but as they get closer the lines between friendship get blurred.... 6 people but which 2 couples make it? I recommend you read and find out😂❤️

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC [in exchange for an honest review] of the audiobook boxset THE DUETS by Meghan Quinn. The boxset includes the Blue Line Duet (The Upside of Falling & The Downside of Love) and The Perfect Duet (The Left Side of Perfect & The Right Side of Forever.

What an epic and extremely emotional journey! These duets had everything: true love, heartbreak, friendship, extreme sadness, healthy relationships, trust, inspiration, surprise, sexiness (with dirty talk), alpha-males, hot fighter pilots, family, humor, soul crushing angst, tragedy, self-love, joy, risks, and rewards. It’s so hard to write a review for The Duets without spoilers. Meghan Quinn is the BEST when it comes to character building. She tells their stories in a way that before you know it, you’re emotionally invested. She makes it impossible for you not to fall in love with each character. These stories will stick with me forever. The Duets is nothing short of AMAZING with the most emotional and heartfelt HEA’s. I was beyond happy with how The Duets ended. Trust me, you NEED these stories in your life! I really hope we get books on the fighter pilot friends because they were so much fun! (hint hint to the author)

“The downside of love is heartache and uncertainty, but the upside of falling is finding an everlasting love that will carry you through a lifetime of happiness.”

Another reader (Dali on Goodreads) said it best: “It’s virtually impossible to write a review about a duet like this without diminishing the reader’s experience. Books like these are meant to be enjoyed every step excruciating, fun, sexy moment of it.” She’s right – it’s hard to write a review for books like these because the reader needs to experience every bit of it themselves. Strap in gals, you’re in for one heck of a flight!

"To me, there is a left and a right side of perfect. The right side of perfect is what society deems worthy of this title. It’s the kind of perfect you believe doesn’t exist, but in other’s eyes, it does. And then there is the left side of perfect, my favorite kind. That’s the kind of soul-bearing perfect, full of flaws and shortcomings. It's the most beautiful side of perfect…the imperfect.”

Narrators Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell were perfectly cast to guide us through this journey of people from different worlds finding each other, sharing their darkest secrets and fears, and falling in love. Joe’s voice was perfect for Colby’s young but dominating demeanor and Strider’s strength and big heart. He perfectly expressed the brooding alpha male persona, laid-back party guy with inner demons, and dirty talking sex machine. (fans self) He is by far one of the best narrators out there. Maxine was perfect for Rory’s kind heart and tenacity, Ryan’s feisty sass, and Sage’s nerdy awkwardness. She’s transitions between the characters perfectly and is great with the male voices as well. The narrators help the story flow easily from one chapter to the next. The story in itself is great, but the narrators take that excellence to a higher level. Their emotional tones fit the plot, making it easy to connect to the characters. Thank you, Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, for bringing these beautiful books to life.

“It’s easy to fall in love: to be infatuated with another person, but what makes a love last a lifetime is the foundation it’s built from.”

5 I-Don-t-Know-What-To-Do-With-My-Life-Now Stars!

My deepest gratitude to Meghan Quinn and Piece of Cake Audiobooks for ARC’ing me this audiobook to review! These stories will stay with me forever.

This audiobook also included bonus content of a short story: Mr. Klein Is Fine, narrated by Connor Crais and Maxine Mitchell. This novella is available for purchase in the Stories of September Anthology. It was a light-hearted and fun listen. After a 30+ hour emotional journey, this was a nice way to calm your brain and recovery from the flight you were just on. Connor Crais and Maxine Mitchell did a great job narrating the story. I especially enjoyed Connor Crais’ narration of the sexy male character!

I just love Meghan Quinn's books and was excited for The Duets, The Blue Line and The Perfect. They are so different from her usual rom com and sports romances.
The Duets are two series with two books in each:
The Upside of Falling
The Downside of Love
The Left Side of Perfect
The Right Side of Forever

I listened to the audio and thought the narrators did a great job telling this story. The books are narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell.
There were times that I could just feel all the emotions in the words, tears forming in my eyes. They brought Meghan's words to life with all the feels and emotions in this story. Prepare for rollercoaster ride of emotions through these duets.

Book 1 The Upside of Falling
I just loved Colby and Rory's story. Colby dreams of becoming a fighter pilot. He has his path and wants no distractions. Then he meets Rory. The way she breaks down his walls and makes him believe he is worth so much. The way she sacrificed herself for him. I had tears and Maxine Mitchell did such a good job portraying Rory's feelings and emotions.

Book 2 The Downside of Love
After the breakup, my heart was in pieces. Rory was trying to move forward with her life without Colby. After his best friend Stryker hits rock bottom, Rory and her best friend Ryan, help him to put his life back together. Rory and Stryker build a friendship that turns into so much more. But at what cost? Colby still loves Rory. Can Stryker and Colby's friendship survive?
Meghan told this story so beautifully and with every decision each character made you felt it deep. I thought the narrators were perfect in these roles and told the story with such emotion and feeling. These books with gut you.

Book 3 The Left Side of Perfect

I just loved Colby and was heartbroken when he lost the girl, but happy that he was making his dreams come true. Ryan seemed like a lost soul. The two together had fun banter and chemistry. Seeing their friendship develop I kept hoping for more. Enter Sage. Colby was smitten with Sage from the beginning and they seem to fit. I can't help but want Ryan to find happiness and love and self worth. But being the best friend is tough, especially when you realize how you really feel. These characters have the reader so invested and the narrators have done a wonderful job making the reader feel all the emotions as the characters experience them.

Book 4 The Right Side of Forever

I really related to all that Ryan was feeling throughout this story. The emotions portrayed through the narrators had you on the edge of your seat. Colby realizing how much Ryan meant to him will just melt your heart. Visiting Rory and Stryker was an added bonus.
I just loved these 4 books in this box set. Meghan wrote a beautiful story and the narrators told it with emotion and feeling.
5 stars for this wonderful book

The Duets: A Contemporary Romance Box Set
By: Meghan Quinn
Narrated by: Joe Arden, Maxine Mitchell

The Duets is a fabulous collection of books Meghan Quinn has bundled and shared with us. It's a listen that gives you all the feels.
Book 1 - The Upside of Falling
We meet Strider, Colby, Ryan and Rory, this book concentrating on Colby and Rory. Colby is a complex man. Coming from an unhappy childhood, his heart is guarded. Rory pries her way in and you can't help but love this couple. Now with graduation coming and the chance for Colby to live out his dreams, will their love survive?

Book 2 - The Downside of Love
This one took me a little while to get into. I loved Colby and Rory, so when Strider comes into the picture, my heart is bleeding. I have to say though, Quinn writes with poise and love, and the story comes to a beautiful end. I loved getting to know Strider and his selflessness and brokenness stole my heart. I especially loved the side story of Rory's brother Brian, who has autism. The awareness she integrates is amazing, with the true to life problems and joys it brings.

Book 3 - The Left Side of Perfect
Colby is back and working through his feelings. Attending Strider and Rory's wedding is tough, and he finds himself hanging out with Ryan. Their friendship blossoms and they have a real bond. He does find love with a woman who's brother is a pilot. Sage understands the life, and they are happy. Or are they? Ryan has a lot of issues, but one thing she knows. She too is in love.

Book 4 - The Right Side of Forever
The conclusion of this duet is heartbreakingly beautiful. Colby and Ryan find their feelings are much stronger than friendship. But Ryan has some real problems that she needs to deal with. Will this break them? It's got all the feels, and broke my heart at times.

Meghan Quinn has outdone herself with these stories. Unlike her rom coms, these couples deal with true life issues with a little angst, some heartbreak and grief, and loves that are unbreakable. Quinn breaks us down and slowly puts us back together again. I was taken with these couples and enjoyed their stories.

Quinn could not have picked better narrators to bring these books to life. Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell have a chemistry that pours into their portrayals. They bring out the qualities in each of their characters and have an ease of flow and nuance that make the stories enjoyable.

This 4 book box set is a captivating and emotional journey that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end. These breathtaking stories will make you laugh, cry, and swoon as you become invested in these characters and cheer for their HEA.

~The Upside of Falling
We meet Colby Brooks who has dreamed and worked hard to become a fighter pilot. Colby had a tragic past, and his best friend, Stryder, helped him find a family. When Colby meets Rory Oaks, they are instantly attracted to each other. Colby tries to keep his distance so he isn't distracted from his goals. But Rory is persistent, trying to help this closed off man open up to love. Rory is kind, and loving, and her family life is complicated making it hard to keep a relationship alive. When she and Colby's relationship grows more passionate, can it survive the distance that flight school creates?

~The Downside of Love
This story took me totally by surprise and I was stunned with the direction it took. But it was a heartbreaking journey with a twist that will make you feel many emotions as you realize that love can be found in the most unlikely ways.

~The Left Side of Perfect
Colby and Ryan are back in this gripping and emotional, friends to lovers romance. They were acquaintances in the other 2 books but connect at the beginning of this story. Ryan has a heartbreaking past that makes her hide behind her carefully made up exterior and carefree attitude. She and Colby are total opposites but Colby grounds Ryan and she makes him take chances in his careful life. They have fun together and Colby is very protective of her. But Colby is still holding on to his carefully planned out life, and soon his choices will break Ryan's heart.

~The Right Side of Forever
This is a beautiful and perfect conclusion to this series. Colby and Ryan are such complex characters, and I loved their growth throughout. I was totally captivated by the way they faced their painful pasts, worked hard to overcome it and became stronger. Their journey was heartbreaking, and emotional, but also filled with so much hope, joy, and love.

This was narrated so beautifully by Joe Arden, and Maxine Mitchell. They both brought out the range of emotions these characters went through as they discovered and made peace with their trauma, allowing us to see them with empathy and understanding. Arden and Mitchell compliment each other so perfectly, bringing this raw and poignant story to life and making it even better.

What can I say, the first duet is very emotional, heartwarming then freaking heartbreaking, but you get hooked right from the start and keep reading, so enthralling that you feel as part of the story. I was in freaking denial with the turn of events, and even though I'm still in shock, I would say the unpredictable is what makes this story different. No worries, there is a HEA for someone on this first duet, though.

Second Duet is related to the first, and that's were are first protagonist (or the one we thought was the main character, gets his HEA) not really what I expected on either story, but this one was super-unexpected and while I love independent, feisty, strong female characters, this was a little to aggressive from a woman that has had her fair amount of heart-breaks because she easily falls in love with anyone that comes her path. Seducing is one thing, but when the guy that is right next to you suggests watching a movie when you don't want to leave his room, then you decide to watch porn with someone you barely know is a big turn off for me. Don't take me wrong, both stories are interlaced and mastefully crafted, however so close to home, that would I feel that everyone is undecerving, except for Colby.

Joe Arden and Connor Crais's performance was PERFECTION, and I keep them on my one-click list of narrators. Maxine Mitchell was okay, and even though I understand each narrator / voice actor has their style, I wish she didn't sounded robotic at times, since that makes her performance a bit fake. Sorry, it may be just me because everyone else since to be very happy with the way she narrates (it could be me after having to go through a brain surgery, so don't mind me).

All in all, Author Meghan Quinn is an extraordinary storyteller, bringing to readers unique and original stories that will evoke every single emotion out of them. She's fan-freaking-tastic!!

“Loving you has been my greatest sin” “Your my right side of Forever”

The Duet Box Set by Meghan Quinn
Narrated by Joe Arden & Maxine Mitchell

This is not like any love story Duet that I have ever read. This box set should be read in order
Blue Line Duet: The Upside Of Falling, The Downside Of Love
Perfect Duet: The Left Side of Perfect, The Right Side Of Forever
Bonus Novella: Mr, Klein Is Fine by Meghan Quinn Narrated by Connor Crais & Maxine Mitchell

These Duets will be one of the hardest duets that I have reviewed. It is almost impossible to talk about these stories and characters without giving any spoilers away. There are great depths to these characters and Meghan did an amazing job bring them life. There is an unbreakable circle of friends Rory, Colby, Strider, Ryan. They all have their own back story and struggles that they are fighting within themselves that add roadblocks to save their hearts.

This is an Air Force, Military lifestyle Romances with an almost Taboo ways. There are Dreams that are fulfilled and Dreams that change and Dreams that are crushed.
There is also a Bonus scene that is never heard but here Mr. Klein Is Fine. Seen in Stories Of September.
Joe Arden plays the Role of Colby & Strider. Joe Arden does it again, He plays the Perfect broody silent alpha type and also the laid-back party guy that has inner demons. He brought these perfectly written characters to life and added to the experience to their worlds.
Maxine Mitchell plays the role of Rory, Ryan and Sage. I am seriously obsessed with Maxine Mitchell she is one of my Favorite Narrators. She characters seem to be written with her in mind. Even her Male voice is perfect I could listen to a story with her male voice as the main character without having a male acting, but if it’s a male talking Joe is the perfect pick.

*****AUDIBOOK REVIEW*****

5 All the Feels Stars!!!!

Meghan Quinn is an author that no matter what she writes I’m going to read it. Even knowing that I’m probably going to cry while reading her angsty books and these Duets are books that I read when they were first published. And now that they’ve been produced into audiobooks, I KNEW I had to listen to them because I was ready for an emotional and angsty listen and I’d have a reason to cry some things out! Add in that they’re narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell and it’s like a Superbowl win for my ears!!!

Joe and Maxine have done a phenomenal job of bringing Colby, Rory, Stryder and Ryan to life in ways that I’ve not heard from them in previous books. To have the heartbreak, fury, love and forgiveness brought to life with their narration has literally been one of my best listening experiences to date!!

And even though I knew how each book flowed, it’s been a couple of years since I read them so this really was almost a new read/listen for me. With each chapter that I listened to the more my heart was beating out of my chest. Emotions are at all time high in a majority of these books because of how these stories and the characters’ lives flow and interconnect.

The love stories in these books is both simple and complex from the get-go. Colby and Rory weren’t looking for love at all, but when you find “the one” you think your life is going to be complete and given Colby’s background he needed this type of constant in his life…but as we all know life isn’t always that simple and in this case, there’s so much to his relationship not only with Rory but with his friends and military family.

Everyone is put through their paces in finding their forever loves and Joe and Maxine bring some of my favorite scenes to life so much so that I had to stop several times to gather my emotions….
“To me, there is a left and right side of perfect. The right side of perfect is what society deems worth of the title. It’s the kind of perfect you believe doesn’t exist, but in others’ eyes, it does. And then there is the left side of perfect, my favorite kind. That’s the kind of soul-bearing perfect, full of flaws and short-comings. It’s the most beautiful side of perfect…the imperfect.”
This audiobook is over thirty hours of a gamut of emotions, snort inducing laughter, heartbreak, heat with the chemistry being generated and being swooned right off my feet. Settle in for the smooth and amazing narration by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell performing the words and bringing to life some of the most amazing characters all written by the fabulously talented Meghan Quinn!

🎧 Audio Review 🎧

I have to start this review off by saying I am so glad I listened to these books as a set. I would have gone crazy with the cliffhangers and the waiting. This was my first Meghan Quinn and If I am honest when book 1 ended I was unsure if there would be any more in my future but man she really did a great job and pulling me in, making me fall in love, breaking my heart, twisting up everything I thought I wanted and starting all over again. In the end she seriously did a great job pulling this all together.
I loved that it felt like we got to really watch these characters grow so much over the years and become great people with beautiful lives ahead of them even if the road was hard won. With the twists in these stories this could have been very high drama and honestly it wasn't as much as I thought it would be. Yes there is some but the characters genuinely reacted and then stopped to think, then they acted like adults and handled everything with maturity and I seriously loved that. In the end I really liked these stories and will be listening to more books by Meghan Quinn!

The narration was good. When book 1 started I wasn't sure if the casting really fit for 20-ish characters but before book 1 was over I forgot all about that or who was even narrating which is great narration to me because they became the characters.

At the end of this Duet Series we also get a bonus, Mr. Klein is Fine which is part of the Stories of September Anthology. It was a sweet teaser novella narrated by Connor Crais & Maxine Mitchell. A nice break after the emotional roller coaster of the Duets.

The Upside of Falling
4 stars
I've fallen into a bad habit of not reading blurbs before I start a new book, this box set included. I enjoyed seeing their first few interactions and how painfully awkward it turned for both characters. Colby has a path set for himself, and he really tries to steer clear of the distraction known as Rory. She wears him down and the majority of the book is exactly the title...The Upside of Love. All of the cute and new and sexy moments in their blossoming relationship, complete with The Notebook style letter writing that actually delivers. I knew this was a duet, so I suspected it would have some sort of obstacle the new couple had to overcome in book two before tying loose ends together, but WHOA. That ending was expected to be somewhat cliffy....but I did NOT see that coming. Told in dual POV, this was a fun read and I'm certainly invested in how it ends.

The Downside of Love
4 stars
Just like book one, this book also followed the title with the Downside of Love. I could have liked this more if the first half of this duet didn't exist. Instead, it was bittersweet and I couldn't fully invest in the story or characters. Not sure how to fully review without any spoilers, but I can say I'm glad the characters found their HEA. This story took a turn between book one and book two, and I found myself against it before I even made it a few chapters. I had to process and try to accept this new path of the duet so I could give it a fair shot. Told in multiple POV, the second half of this book was better and set up the next book in this series. I feel very invested and will keep reading.

The Left Side of Perfect
4 stars
After not reading the initial blurb for this box set, I made sure to read these, but the author did a great job at keeping things vague. Even readers kept the reviews pretty spoiler free. This was another frustrating read due to the struggle the characters and readers must endure before everyone is happy. Told in multi POV, we catch up with established characters along with some new ones. The first third was easy, but the remainder was tough for spoilery reasons. Due to the plot circumstances, I couldn't fully enjoy the minimal steam occurances. I liked the thought process behind The Left Side of Perfect's title and can already see how it goes in line with the title for the conclusion. After another cliffy, I'm ready for the next book to see everyone get their HEA.

The Right Side of Forever
4 stars
The Right Side of Forever played out how I anticipated, including the title tie in. Much like the first duet, I wish this one had been reduced and cut down to make one book. Love triangles are difficult, and I am not a fan of seeing the characters get it on with other people. For me, editing out a lot of other relationships could have cut this down to one book and kept me more invested. I read this last installment of the box set quicker than any others. It felt like a full circle type read and I was anxious to see it play out, get to the endings, and move on from this series. In multi POV, we do see one couple get their HEA and a suspected other couple gets a good set up if the author chooses. Overall an alright series in the sense that everyone ended up happy, but the ride was too long and bumpy for my liking. I am ready on to other works from this author, possible funny instead of dramatic.

5 Stars for the Audible of The Duets
Where to start and what to say that hasn’t already been said about this wonderful collection of books by Meghan Quinn that are narrated by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell.
I’m going to start with I loved the ebooks but the narrators took these great books and made them amazing, they took my emotions to another level....
The Duets Series is an emotional roller coaster, it’s about life and learning, it’s about friendships and first loves and it’s about soul mates.
These stories are about trust and taking giant leaps hoping someone is there to catch you. As with all Ms Quinn’s stories there are elements of fun but these Duets are more about love, drama and at times heartbreak so a very different side to the talented author you might know, but don’t be put off by that because these stories will take over your life, they will captivate you, draw you in and leave you wanting more from the characters you will fall in love with.
You know you are reading or listening to is very special book when the story and the characters stay with you long after you have finished the final words and this Duet Series is one of those stories. I loved everything about this series and I highly recommend this amazing value for money audible (4 books for 1 credit).

I have so many thoughts after finishing this series. The story of two sets of friends, Rory and Ryan, and, Colby and Stryder is told over the course of four stories though ultimately, these stories center around Colby.

The Upside of Falling, finds our girls and guys meeting for the first time but is the tale of Rory, Colby, and Stryder. To be upfront, this is not a love triangle but rather a story about two broken men and a girl who is a fixer. This story nearly broke me as it left me so upset and angry that I struggled to continue with book 2.

The Downside of Love is Stryder's story. Still reeling from book 1, I actually enjoyed Stryder's story and really felt for him as he really got the short end of the stick. Never living up to his father's expectations he's struggling and it's his friendships with Rory and Ryan that help him find his way.

The Left Side of Perfect and The Right Side of Forever is the finale of Colby's story. Dealing with betrayal and the devastation of losing the love of his life, Colby begins to move on and finds love. His HEA is so deserved and it was this final duet that had mended my heart and left cheering for our hero and the love of his life.

The narration was wonderfully executed by Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell. The emotions Maxine conveyed- sorrow, despair, longing, at times left me in tears.

The short story, Mr. Kein is Fine, was a much-welcomed fun novella. Connor Crais is sexy and is perfectly matched with Maxine Mitchell. I would love to explore more of his too short story.

To get the full appreciation for this final story between Colby and Ryan... you HAVE to start at the very beginning and work your way through them.

1a- The Upside of Falling (The Blue Line Duet #1)
1b- The Downside of Love (Blue Line Duet #2)

1c- The Left Side of Perfect (The Perfect Duet #1)
1d- The Right Side of Forever (The Perfect Duet #2)

I'm not going to lie, The Upside of Falling -to- The Downside of Love was really hard to read. I didn't like "the downside" at all. It was a challenging read, but I encourage you to PUSH THROUGH IT.
How often has something happened to you, that you thought was horrible... only to find out later.. that it was actually a GOOD thing in the long run? For me, it's happened a few times.

Everything happens for a reason. But you won't be able to see the reason until you really get to the Left Side of Perfect. Again, HANG IN THERE! Don't give up!

We could all write the perfect, wonderful, 00ey-gooey, happy story and rush to the ending - but sometimes, (especially in real-life) it doesn't work out that way. Sometimes we experience difficult rainstorms before we can see the rainbow.

Ms. Quinn did a fabulous job pulling it all together, and we do get that wonderful, ooey-gooey, "happy ever after" ending. But you have to get to the Right Side of Forever to see it happen and to better understand.

Happy reading!

I read this boxed set in a week. Overall, very happy I stayed with it despite the emotional rollercoaster it took me on. I did NOT like one of the characters because of her actions (just seemed so thoughtless for a person we were supposed to think was so perfect). Thus the lack of a star (book 2 - boo). But I loved all the other characters, their stories, the passion and the overall morals of the stories enough to get over it. Where I could barely stand to pick Book 2 up (made me feel a bit sick inside), Books 3 & 4 were difficult to put down.

One complaint to the author: Meghan, you need to vary the names a bit! Book 1 left us with just a single character without a Y in their name. And the two females both start with an R!! Rory, Ryan, Stryder, Colby, Bryan, Joey, (Hardie could have been a Y instead of an IE but it's the same sound nonetheless). Then Book 3 adds more: welcome Rowdy, Rocky! Do you notice do this, Ms. Quinn? Can you not see it's slightly distracting and somewhat annoying and an added challenge for readers to keep them all straight (at least at first). Curious to hear whether other readers found this odd as well. Might just be me.

I've read other books by this author and was happy to give this 4 book series a try. I found this it to be totally heartbreaking and emotional. Definitely not like any other duet series I've read before. The characters thought they knew what love was until they realize they don't really have any clue. I honestly spent much of this series being very angry at the situations these characters were in and how they acted. Most of those were of the character's own doing. I am glad I got to listen to both duets all in one go, which did make it easier to continue through the series and I thought the extra novella at the end was super cute.

Additionally, this author is quite talented and the writing was very good.

Unfortunately, this set of stories was just not for for me.

This is one very emotional rollercoaster ride and the narration by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden was amazing. I really felt every single bit of emotion the characters were experiencing through their performances. I also really enjoyed Maxine Mitchell and Connor Crais in the added novella at the end. So so good!!
