They find refuge at a fire station in Maple Grove, but Renny finds out some hard truths that rock his world, including the fact that Chief Sal Monroe isn’t even human, and claims that Renny is his mate. On a pizza run one night Sal is approached by two men who swear they’re hungry and need someplace to warm up. Not only is Sal trying to protect his mate from a crazed demon, but there is a serial arsonist running around town setting fires, and Sal is determined to find out who it is before a life is claimed. When Renny steals Sal’s truck to find his brother, it’s up to Sal to rescue them both before Molimo has his revenge.

It's been a while since I've been in this world so... not everything is like a broken record.. EXCEPT.. one thing. Flush.. Renny's parents and having their debt flush. I get one person referring to covering the debt this way but when you start having other characters picking up and using the same phrase... yeah not gonna go down in a good way for me.

This is obviously part of an insta mate/love connection storyline.. however this one didn't feel so rushed to me. We didn't hop right into bed out of our mind with lust.

Another inconsistency for me was Molimo the demon. When Sal mentioned his name it was please say another demon. But that didn't fall into line with our actual meet and greet with this guy later on. And brother Roberto.. the sincerest at the beginning falls away very sudden, making me wonder how much is really him and if he really is a con artist or not. For a minute I was thinking he was mates with Molino but I guess not.

This story definitely kept me engrossed from beginning to end. The characters were all so interesting and I loved the relationship between Renny and Sal along with the passion and heat between them, however, I felt sad for Renny and what had happened with his brother,Roberto. I love this author's exquisite style of writing and I truly enjoyed this enthralling book. Fabulous. =)

Awesome book just awesome

I really enjoyed the characters in this book and get you involved and it hooks you into the story emotionally and there’s some surprises that you don’t see coming and it makes the book that much better

How can you have a shifter story when no one shifts throughout the entire book. Most you got was red eyes and horns!
