About That Evening

Rate this book
He’s a tattoo-covered bad boy with a sly smile on those sculpted lips and firm, strong hands that make me melt. And oh yeah, did I mention that we share a bedroom?

It’s not my fault that my best friend moved out. Gwyneth got a once in a lifetime opportunity to go abroad, and that left me in a lurch. I had to find a roommate fast, otherwise I was going to be out on the street with nowhere to turn.

Enter Ross Ranger.

The man’s gorgeous, with devilish blue eyes, charcoal hair and heavenly tattoos swirling up and down his forearms and chest.

One day, he tells me that one of the tattoos has a meaning …
… because he’s gotten my name drawn over his heart.

What?!?!

Has Ross been craving me all this time, and I didn’t know?

Suddenly, everything gets a lot more tangled because we’re bed buddies …

… but what happens if I want something more?

Our hero is H-O-T with sculpted muscles and tattoos to make your mouth water. Not only that, but Ross Ranger is growly, huge and has an artistic streak too. Reader beware. If your Kindle spontaneously combusts, don’t say I didn’t warn you!

As always, my books end with an HEA, with no cheating and no cliffhangers.

About That Evening, Book 3 of the Naughty Relations mini-series, was about 31-year-old Ross Ranger, a professional tattoo artist, and 21-year-old Alexa Andrews, a junior in college.
When Alexa's roommate got the opportunity for an immediate chance to study abroad, she was left with no one to help her pay the rent on her two-bedroom apartment. So she put an ad up for an "open house" that would help her find a new roommate. A bunch of wild options came through, but she turned them all down...until the final knock of the day rapped at her door.
Ross had been rooming with one of his co-workers and BFF for a while, but like Elexa, he was hit with a sudden change. His roommate's girlfriend wanted to move in, but only if Ross moved out. His buddy gave him only a week's notice to vacate his room. Ross hit up several places, but none were appealing. He had one final room to check out, and he was afraid of what he'd find since it was listed by a college student. However, when he saw Alexa, he was enthralled, and they both agreed for him to sign the lease.
For the first week of sharing the apartment, Alexa had done everything she could to avoid Ross. But he wasn't the best roommate in that he would invite a crew of his tattoo friends over without telling her of his plans, and the noise level wasn't conducive for studying, so she ended up going somewhere else to do it.
Side Note: Ross wasn't celibate before meeting the Alexa. In fact, he'd had a one-night stand with a stranger the night before he met her. He was so drunk he couldn't recall her name, and the girl even got his name wrong.
The second week, Ross had one too many beers again, but this time he ended up having sex with Alexa...without a condom. After the spiciness was over, they talked and he offered a "just friends but hook up when it's convenient" scenario with her, but then it was downplayed by Alexa as "let's see what happens".
The FMC was given almost a dual personality. First, she came across as the"shy, innocent" type, but whenever they had a spicy scene, she was all "put it in, big boy" seductress type. The two personalities didn't suit her. The author should have given her one or the other.
Side Note: I was offended by how the author depicted the homeless as junkies. Not all homeless people are junkies who spend their time at the library getting high. Many people who are homeless spend their time at the library because it's the ONLY FREE place to look for jobs online or in the want ads, and to hopefully find a home.
Unfortunately, there was more wrong with this story than right. Oh, I enjoyed the fact that the MMC wasn't rich, that he was a tattoo artist living paycheck to paycheck, and just your general "run of the mill" blue-collar worker. I liked that the FMC didn't care and did everything she could to fit into his world. But the rest of the story...the tone o it was just off. I couldn't give it more than a two-star rating.

Pretty good

I enjoyed this series. Would recommend to anyone. I was super frustrated with the misunderstandings that occurred between Alexa and Ross. I like how different their backgrounds where, it was like opposites attract kinda love and I'm glad that they worked out their issues and looked pass their differences.

Opposites Attract

O thought this was a cute read! I loved that the guy people want you to steer clear of was a better man than the guy her parents wanted her to be with. Loved this story!

College Student Alexa Finds Herself Roomming With A Tattoo Covered Hunk!

Alexa Andrews, roughly twenty-one years old or so and a college junior, is serious-minded and studying to become a librarian. When she is suddenly in dire need of a new roommate, she is desperate to find a suitable choice.

Ross Ranger, a tattoo artist, is thirty-one and beginning to tire of hanging at bars and picking up girls, who have all lost their charm. To top it off, his childhood best friend and roommate tells him they are too old to be roommates and he wants to have his girlfriend replace Ross in their apartment. Ross has one week to move out.

With no better options, Alexa and Ross immediately agree to room together when he answers her add. Their attraction is instant, and when they finally cave to their mutual desire their chemistry is insane!

This is a very quick read and simplistic as a result. The steam is really heavy - wow! Ross is an alpha with tons of experience who knows how to treat Alexa and make her feel good. She doesn't recognise herself once he lights her up! Unfortunately, their friends and family get in the way of their happiness (as well as some self-esteem issues).

Although Alexa and Ross are nicely developed given the length, there are some weaknesses elsewhere. Alexa's family comes across as two dimensional and hard to figure out. Alexa's mother is terribly and absurdly pretentious. She  seems to be a binge shopper, yet they live in a small, very outdated home in the Chicago suburbs, which points to a humble background. Alexa is apparently not on financial aid (since her friend Cathy is and Cathy cannot live off campus as a result). Their financial status is confusing.

Similarly, Ross's best friend's girlfriend is atrocious and flat. And his best friend's reaction to how she treats Ross and Alexa is pathetic. It makes you wonder how they are such good friends, or why Ross considers breaking up with Alexa to continue hanging out with his friends. Nobody needs friends like that!

Alexa and Ross are two seemingly normal but very different people that come together in an unusual way. It is sweet to watch Ross open up and find happiness. The couple earns their HEA.

I would rate this 3.5 stars if possible. It is nicely written, though a bit simple and flat in parts. There are only a few proofreading errors. It is great to grab for a quick, light read.

I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Has everyone had the opportunity to read the Naughty Relations series? If not, OMG you have got to start, what is wrong with you? LOL. S.E. Law has an incredibly dirty & creative mind and has shared it with us in the series. S.E.'s latest installment, About That Evening, is going to keep you completely riveted to your Kindle, all the way through (I know that I was). This wonderful release, is so much MORE than just a romance that you will love. I know that I joke around, however, there is such depth to this book and it definitely has an impressive/creative as well as a hard-hitting storyline . The characters, Ross and Alexa; are incredible and very realistically written so they are easily envisioned (trust that I'm envisioning Ross right now). Wink.

I have been incredibly fortunate to have read each book in this unsurpassed series, however, About That Evening, 3rd installment to this series, is my new favorite. After suddenly losing his place to live, this tatoo artist is in desperate need of a home. Alexa, a college student, is just what he needs. Finding herself just as desperate as Ross, for a roommate, Alexa decides to hold a Q&A in her apartment, with the hopes of finding her newest roommate. What they happen to find is their future upon meeting, however, getting there is anything but easy. While Alexa and Ross experience insta-lust; it is their hearts that call for the others, & this book is beautiful to read. I encourage all fans of romance, to follow along as these two melt your heart & your e-reader. S.E. Law is an unsurpassed Author. She possesses that unique gift, where she can take you out of your everyday life and you can escape into a fictional world of her making with this superbly designed book, loving every second of it. I actually began recommending this book before even completing half of it... that's how amazingly written it is.

I voluntarily requested an advanced reader's copy of About That Evening in exchange for my honest & voluntarily given opinion, and as you can see, I highly recommend devouring this addictive read, as well as the other books in this series. A
Honestly, anything written by S.E. is worth your time and attention.

Congratulations, I am now impatiently awaiting the next release.

Alexa's roommate gets an opportunity of a lifetime to study abroad & she's taking it. Alexa is happy for her, but she knows she can't afford their apartment on her own. Alexa calls another friend to ask if she would want to move in, but she declines as her dorm room is paid in full. Together they come up with a roommate wanted ad & place it on Craigslist. All of the respondents to the ad creep her out in some way & just as she's had about all she can take, one more person knocks on her door.

Ross is a tattoo artist & his roommate advises that he wants his girlfriend to move in, but her demand is that Ross moves out. He has 1 week to find another place. Ross can't afford a place on his own & they have made a listing of 20 possibilities. The first 19 are a complete bust, and #20 is Alexa's place. He takes a deep breath & knocks on her door.

They both can't believe what the other looks like & after a brief interview, she offers him the room. She's so attracted to him that she avoids him at all costs. They eventually have a friends with benefits night (aka one night stand) as she wants to date & doesn't want to at the same time. Her mom basically forces her to go out on a date with a guy that gives her the creeps & she accepts because she & Ross have had a fight. One thing leads to another & it ends up a really bad date, but it could have been worse. Ross does save her preventing a catastrophe.

I won't give any more away as it would contain spoilers, but this is a great story. Ross is in his early 30s & Tessa is a college student in her early 20s. They both have their own issues & have to face them before they can move forward in their relationship. Great characters, an interesting plot & some steamy sex makes this story a must read.

Um...yeah, where do I begin?

Usually I won't leave a review of it is less that 4stars because I know how hard it is to write a book and I don't like to bash any one. That being said, some times we need to be tactfully honest when it's not good.
There were parts I liked, that's why I read it to the end. I liked the based of the storyline. I really liked the main character too.
The issues are as follows: the love sciences and dirty talk were like a really bad porno from the 70's! Alexa is a meek shy woman who does a 180 in the bedroom which is very off. I know the day the quiet ones are usually the wild ones in the bedroom but this just didn't fit. And what is up with the "back door" action???? Not to mention her first time and we'll every time there is no prepping?? FOR GOD SAKES he is 10 inches!!!! OUCH!!!
Moving on lol, why does she call her mom and dad by there names? I thought that was weird. Why would she let her parents think Ross did the very bad thing that happens and not the real person who did it? Trying not to spoil the story.
Micah, oh what a bff/practically Ross brother he is!! There is a list of things wrong with that whole thing ! Plus Micah and Rebecca was never really explained.
Phew ok, last thing I am going to complain about and the less bothering that caused , was editing. This book needs to be re-edited for sure! But I can always look past that.
I feel bad but it had to be said, especially with how many 5 stars this book had, come on, were we reading the same book?? I wish the author the best of luck and I am always will to give the author another try because not every book an author writes be 5 stars.

Alexa is majoring in library science, who suddenly needs a room mate when hers takes off for Italy. Ross is a tattoo artist, who's room mate kicks him out for a girl.

Ross supposed best friend kicks him out with a week's notice seems odd. It also comes across weird at the start of the book Alexa starts be referring to her parents as mom and dad and switches to their given names, when it appears they are close, then later it seems a lot more distant.

After a lot of bad prospective room mate meetings these two end up together. They both think each other's hot and Alexa is very shy and awkward.

I liked their story and their relationship but the intimate scenes are jarring and often don't seem to fit the characters giving me WTF moments. There's a too many moments that just don't blend well or make sense given the situation. The sex talk is crude, with weird word choices and pops out lines I would expect from a BDSM or raunchy sex story. It's implied that funds are tight and yet her mother goes off on a shopping spree? Ross rents a limo and clears a fancy restaurant? I know he said he called in some favors but he's a tattoo artist, nothing in the story indicates he would be able to call in those high end favors. She's drugged unconscious and he doesn't take her to the hospital? If their relationship part of this story hadn't been good I would have rated this a 2.

31yo tattoo artist wants prim and proper college-age girl. What could go wrong?!
Alexa is studying Library Science at Bradley College in Chicago and sharing an apartment with Gwyneth until Gwyn gets an opportunity to study abroad in Italy. Now Alexa needs a roommate to afford her place…like NOW. She advertises for a roomie. In order to cull through all the applicants Alexa decides to have an open house to interview and be interviewed. This part is hilarious. It’s not going so well until Ross steps in.
At the same time as this is happening Ross’ best friend and apartment mate kicks him to the curb so that his girlfriend of six months can move in. Ross is desperate. Alexa’s place is literally his last resort, but then he meets her. Thirty-one-year-old tattoo-covered, one-night-stand-king, punk-loving Ross is smitten.
This book sizzles at all the right times. S.E. Law can write some of the best love scenes with dirty talking and all! Alexa wasn’t the only one affected ;-) When the deed is finally done in chapter 7 b/c Ross has had too many beers and Alexa is just plain horny…WOW…just WOW! My only irritation is Alexa’s willingness to let her mother constantly have her way especially after the incident with Danny. Fortunately, Alexa develops a backbone and we get our HEA for this unlikely couple. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and LOVED it! If you like bad boys who get turned on by the good girl, you will too.

Alexa is in Chicago study at college to be a librarian and learns that her room mate has gotten an opportunity to study abroad and can leave early. So now she needs to find a room mate quick because she can't afford to live alone. Ross was living with his best friend until said friend decided to ask his girlfriend to move in. She wants Ross out so he kicks Ross out within a week. Alexa's apartment listing is almost the last one on his list when he came to her that day and he was discouraged. Alexa was just as discourage until she saw him. Both took one look at each other and knew they were going to say yes. Not only because they were attracted but because they need the room mate. Sparks flew between them and isn't wasn't long before they became more than room mates. However after one night with his friends Ross didn't think they would work even though he really liked her. So he pushed her away. Upset Alexa agreed to a fix up that her mother had been trying to force on her. Date night comes and Ross follows Alexa on her date with Danny which turns into a disaster and he ends up saving her. Will they be able to get back to where they were? Can she give him another chance at her heart?

This is a great story that once I started I couldn't put it down. The chemistry is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This book was excellent! Alexa and Ross had undying chemistry! It was very hot and steamy! Alexa is a college student that lives off campus with a roommate. When her roommate suddenly leaves to go to Italy as part of the exchange program for school it leaves Alexa in a dire situation needing a roommate. She and her good friend post an ad on various social media sites about the house and needing a roommate immediately. After alot of nos, the last person that comes to check out the house is Ross and he is 31 years old and hot as sin. He is a tatoo artist. When Alexa and Ross come face to face sparks ignite. They soon have sex and it is great for both of them but after they try to put a label on themselves and they agree to be friends with benefits. Yeah, the thing is Alexa is not a friends with benefits kind of chick. After something happens, Ross will be there when Alexa needs him the most.

Micah was no friend to ask Ross to leave their apartment! Why didn't he just move in with Rebecca?? When Ross suggested the double date he was beyond sweet. Rebecca was such a mean evil jealous biotch! Micah deserved her after what he did to Ross. I was so frustrated with Alexa for drinking so much and putting herself in a bad situation! Alexa takes way too long to get a backbone and open her mouth. Pathetic! Alexa's mom was an interfering bully and one piece of work!!! Ross was so sweet when he proposed.

I read exactly 5 pages of this "book" and they were 5 too many. I had had enough of the sexist, racist monstrosity with awkward dialogues.

So the heroine was just a little annoying, the hero was unlikable, nbd, but what broke the camel's back was the hero's introduction. I don't find men who forget ( or didn't take) the name of the girl they slept with the previous night cool. You shouldn't either Miss Law. There is nothing cool about a human being not treating another human being with respect.

When her BFF suddenly gets a chance to go to Italy, Alexa is left high and dry with an apartment she can't afford without a roommate.

Ross is suddenly on the hunt for a place to live when his buddy decides it's time to become domestic.

What neither was expecting was to be wildly attracted to each other.

This super hot roomie-to-lovers is steamy enough that you'll want to read it in one sitting.

Ooo spicy and romantic too. Loved it. Bit of a twist too in it. So it was a good surprise. Though I kept wanting to strangle the mother with her pushiness. Ugh. So annoying, but there's one in every book.
About a woman in college whose in a bit of a bind looking for a not crazy roommate. When she finds the one she can't believe her luck. He's tall, dark and handsome. Even with the tattoos she wants him night and day. But are their worlds to different?

This was a good read. Alex is left to deal with a mess when her friend ups and leaves for a trip. She now cannot afford rent. She puts out a ad on craigslist. After some weird people show up then enters Ross. Even though they are very different people they worked so well together. They had their ups and downs but in the end they were happy.

Her roommate leaves for something important to her. She needs a new one fast and advertises for one. Well what starts out as friends quickly goes to something else. Her new roommate is hot, hot, hot. But a bad thing happens to her in the meantime. How does this end? How is the family involved? I highly recommend it. I received this copy I review.

I loved this well-written, steamy, roommates to lovers romance. Circumstances beyond the main characters control bring them together, and the mixture of attraction and chemistry takes over. There is a pushy mother and the heroine finally finds her backbone where mom is concerned. This rate is entertaining and engaging with a touch of drama.I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Tattoos and bad boys

Such a good, book to get into if you want a quick read. Ross is so sweet even through his bad boy looks covered in tattoos. Only thing is, doesn’t the description say something about him tattooing her name on himself? I might have missed that part but I don’t think it was actually written in.
