I was so pleased to finally get to read the second book in Bennett’s series because I enjoyed her first book so much! The author has wonderful world building skills and the characters and creatures she creates in her world are amazing. It was a pleasure watching Wynter grow and learn as Bennett artfully and creatively weaves the story. Will be watching for more from Emmy Bennett!

Change is in the air in Author Emmy Bennett’s Different Shade of Wynter, the second book of her Storm Bloodline Saga. Wynter Storm has reached her 18th birthday and is experiencing physical changes and memories she can’t explain. It’s time for her to learn more of her true heritage, and destiny. She must travel to a new realm with her father, Aunt Fran, and Cory to the kingdom of Ladorielle, its territories, and Dragonscale Island to meet the friends and family that will help her transition and introduce her to her heritage. The clock is ticking, her grandmother Moyer is possessed by the ruthless, evil spirit of Sarmira, who wants Wynter’s powers and will do anything to get them.

Deadly birds, gremlins, shape shifters, dragons and vampires surface as Wynter and her family travel through these mystical kingdoms, learning who is friend, and who is foe. Wynter struggles to understand what these new worlds hold, and what her role is to be to keep them united and conflict free. Her coming of age frustration consumes her at times, with bits and pieces of memories from long ago slowly emerging. Will she be able to handle and accept them before her fury destroys everyone and everything in her path?

A war is coming to these mythical kingdoms. As Wynter transitions to her rightful role, will she be ready to accept her destiny and fight those who are determined to destroy it? A powerful tale of a young woman’s providence into a magical new world order. A great read–I can’t wait for book 3!

I enjoyed Book 2 of this series very much. Many questions are answered and the world that Emmy created comes together beautifully. I’m hooked on the characters who are very likeable with unique qualities. There are many characters in this series, and Emmy was gracious enough to include a listing in the back of the book. I don’t usually read fantasy but this storyline has me intrigued and Emmy’s writing skills are excellent. I’ll be waiting for Book 3!

Wynter's Story Continues!

I love this book just as much as I did the first one!😍😍 FYI this is a continuing story. So, if you haven't read book one, EYES OF WYNTER in the Storm Bloodline Saga series, you will want to start with that book before reading this one. In this story, we learn more about who Wynter really is and about the power she inherited upon her 18th birthday. This story is just as enthralling as the first and had me up past my bedtime many a night. But it was so worth it!

In any event, this is an excellent fantasy with a beautiful main character who has a lot of responsibility thrust upon her very young shoulders. Although she is a very powerful being, Wynter is just like a regular teenager with the usual teenage girl insecurities and angsts. FYI this is a clean YA novel; it is, IMO, appropriate reading material for younger teens. Happy reading! 😁😁

I looked forward to reading book 2 of the Storm Bloodline Series after enjoying book 1 so much. Wynter has had her eighteenth birthday and begins to learn what some of her "gifts" are, while slowly regaining some of her lost memories. Emmy Bennett's characters are unique and likable, her writing draws you in, and her story is very intriguing. In this book, we get some answers, but I still have questions. The next book in the series is definitely in my future!

A delightful story about Wynter who’s about to become Queen. A place of good and evil, danger and power. A book to get lost in for awhile. Loved it.

A bit better than the last

Some big questions answered with new questions to replace them. A few things were contradictory within this book, but it’s not horrible. It got fairly interesting in the last few chapters. Looking forward to seeing how book 3 develops

This is the second book in the Storm Bloodline Saga by Emmy Bennett. So many things come together in this book for both the reader and Wynter, the main character. Wynter finds out more about her family history and her own past. The author does a great job of drawing the reader into Wynter's emotional and physical world, immersing us fully in her emotions as she struggles to remember details of her life which have been hidden from her. Emmy Bennett does a phenomenal job with world-building and helping the reader experience the environment and the mythical creatures that inhabit Ladorielle. I look forward to reading the next book in the series and finding out what is next for Wynter Storm and Ladorielle.
