He wasn't supposed to kiss her. Can Travis and Millie find a way to turn their mistletoe kiss into true love?
Travis Johnson attended the speed-dating event during Chestnut Springs's Octoberfest and got exactly two phone numbers. One woman's already told him there's no spark between them.
Ouch.
The other has a boyfriend.
Double ouch.
But when Travis spots Millie at his brother's wedding, he learns she broke up with that other guy.
Perfect.
Gathering his courage, he asks her to dance, only to have his brother point out they're swaying under the mistletoe. So Travis does the only thing he can—he kisses Millie.
Millie Hepworth plans parties for a living, and Travis is crazy-busy on the ranch with his brother off on his honeymoon. So he does the only thing he can think of to keep Millie close.
He hires her to plan a Christmas party for him and his brothers out at Chestnut Ranch.
No big deal.
He forgot about the part where he works constantly and doesn't have much to say, especially to a successful, sassy woman like Millie. Oh, and the part where his mother has always hosted the Christmas party...
Oops.
This is why cowboys should never kiss under the mistletoe.
I enjoy small town cowboy romances. This one was ok.
The story didn't flow for me. Travis and Millie didn't seem to connect. I didn't feel any chemistry between them. They both had insecurities. Travis seemed to come to terms with his, but the book left me with the sense that Millie was going to ignore hers. After speaking to her dad, I guess I expected something more.
Maybe it was because I thought the H/h were older and it was more like they were in their late teens trying to connect while not being sure of what they were doing.
Travis and Millie got their HEA, and the ending was sweet. There is also some info about the next two books at the end involving Russ and Rex if I'm not mistaken.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy received from Booksprout.
Travis and Molly have a lot ahead of them as they get their first kiss at Seth wedding
Holly's mom is sick with cancer and sticks like glue to Holly almost smothering her. Holly wants to be independent from her mom but her mom is so clingy with their illness and everything that it's hard to break away.Holly's brothers come and help her out by bringing food and staying with their mom and bringing their kids over. It's not enough for Holly who seeks to have a break from her mom. Rex's patient with her and he takes his time wooing her and taking her out and being nice to her mother. But misunderstandings occur and they separate for a while as Holly has to figure out where to work if anybody will hire her. Holly thought she could work at the ranch and live out at the ranch but was rebuffed when she got to the ranch to talk to Rex. So she goes back to town and continues to put an applications everywhere and for everything. Any job that is available. Finally a furniture company calls Molly and she ends up being a floor manager for them. On her first day at work the Johnson boys come by Seth and his fiance and Travis. Travis has a special Christmas gift for Molly and he's hoping that will mend the fences that are down..
Travis gets his HEA I did feel sorry for Millie with her mother and father and jobless she had it tuff.I did feel they should of found that women and get her to explain why she attacked him with a kiss took photos for all to see and never checked if he was married or in a relationship.it was rude and sexual harassment.I get they needed to trust each other but that grows with time and if your heart is on the line there will be a 10% non trust out of 100% because love matters.the relationship is new and it's ok to get her and say tell her what happened by the way this is my girlfriend so the women understands her actions hurt.after all she owned them both a sorry.poor Russ I'm not liking his love interest she is thickal
I have to say, I loved this story more than the first book. Millie and Travis' love was so sweet and filled with joy. He was quiet, she was outgoing and filled with humor. He had low self esteem and she encouraged him. I loved it. Although, Travis could have handled the incident with the scavenger hunt a little better than he did. I would have been furious if I were Millie.
The parts where Millie took care of her momma reminded me of the time my mother was ill and we cared for her. Very tender memories.
Millie is back in town after 10 years! When Travis sees her at his brother Seth's wedding he can't believe his eyes. The last time he saw her was at the speed dating event several months ago and then after that she had been dating someone else. Now she's single and Travis can't believe his eyes so he asks her to dance. During the second dance his brother Russ tells them they are dancing under the mistletoe. So thankfully he has a good excuse to kiss her! What happens next blows both of them away! Want to find out what happens? Read this great story by Emmy Eugene!
I loved every moment of this book. I love Travis and Millie. I love how the author gave a great back story to the two of the by the question they asked when they was dating and getting to know each other. I love how Millie let Travis know she was ready for the next step by asking even if he was like nope can’t do it then ask her the very same thing in a great out of the way, way. It just makes it so much more that he let her take the lead mat then followed her when she need to go. I so loved this book. Hope all the rest of the books in this series are this great.
Travis meets Millie another speed dating event and they had dated many years ago. Travis knew that Millie had another boyfriend so he just stayed clear of her until he sees her at his brother's wedding and asks her for a dance. Millie accepted the dance and so enjoyed the dance and Travis Johnson is one yummy man. Travis learns Millie has moved back and is starting her own event planning business.. Travis asks her to decorate his home and plan a Christmas party. These two enjoy each other and learn each other..until Millie starts to act jealous and Travis asks for a few steps back. This proves how much they miss each other and that loves waits and is worth it all.
Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Travis and Millie both have things to work out, Travis does not say much and Millie has jealousy issues. It was a real emotional rollercoaster ride with them but chemistry was great. Thank you for allowing me to review your book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely loved Travis and Millies story. Sometimes being the quiet one pays off. Travis has such a huge heart and is the sweetest person you can meet. Millie has a huge heart as well and has some hurt in from the past. I thoroughly loved this read and the Johnson brothers. A series of love for their family and land. I highly recommend this read to all who love a phenomenal read.
I liked the feelings expressed between family, girl friends, parents, etc. it is a feel good book and it does make you feel good. Nice to have positive thoughts and no violence. I would recommend this book to either sex and most any mature person , young or old.
Have already stated everything asked for. Keep up the positive, feel good writing, this is the type thinking our country needs.
Travis and Millie have known each other for years even dated a little in the past. When Millie moved back to town they ran into each other at a Speed Dating event but didn't date again until Millie stopped seeing another man. Now that they have begun to date again are there still feelings and will they be good for each other?
Two like minded individuals come together in a gentle and caring story of love and trust. Believable characters with a storyline that showed the responsibility of family and the love and support of family also. I am really enjoying this series so far look forward to the next title. Nice book to while away the day with.
This is ok. I like Travis, he's reserved and a little timid. Millie was the exact opposite, she's a whirlwind. There is some character depth so I did get to know them, I just couldn't connect with them. There just didn't seem to be enough emotion or excitement conveyed between the two about their new love to engage me into believing that they were truly in love.
This is an exciting and exciting story. Seeing two people attracted to each other with issues to overcome is exciting to see how they handle their problems. We should not stay in our past hurts. We miss out on what is in our future if we do that. This is a good example of handling our hurts.
Enjoyed reading about the Johnson brothers. Travis is the quiet one but he meets Millie and is not sure of himself. They both have to sort out there feelings. His brother Seth gets married and goes on their honeymoon so the brothers do his share of work. Family life with all the ups and downs.
Rancher Travis Johnson dances with Millie Hepworth at his brother’s wedding and learns she isn’t seeing anyone so he asks her out. She had returned to help her mother who is fighting cancer, and is in need of a job. He’s quiet, but she’s still interested. A great story about learning to communicate and think about another person’s needs.
When you love someone you make your heart vulnerable to blind faith. You trust them to love you, respect you and to trust you based on nothing but love. It's not an easy task but oh so rewarding~
I am new to her books and this is second in the series. It is clean and wholesome and believable. It's family oriented and that is nice to read. Looking forward to the rest.
Travis was the quite brother, he decided to start dating the first lady said there was no spark, but he finally decided to ask out Millie. They dated years before but was serious, now she is back. Can they make it work.
She’s the one that left 10 years ago and he’s never forgotten her. Both have trust issues and they have bumps in the road on the way to their wedding. He stops working on the ranch and goes back to woodworking making him a happier man.
This is so different, sensitive brothers that bring a whole new level to dating. I love how Trav and Mills traverse the romance terrain, so many pitfalls with this sensitive duo.
It is a great story from begging to end.Emmy does a great job creating believable characters that make it easy to create a reading movie. All books should create a movie though words, it did not disappoint.
Loved the story with all the twists and turns. I had a difficult time overlooking the many type o errors. There needs to be some proofreading. I am excited to read the rest of the series.
This is an entertaining story. I love the dynamics of the relationship between Millie and Travis. The author made them more realistic by inserting trust issues into the relationship.
This story is the second book in the series. I loved reading every word. The characters were very personable. I fell in love with Millie. She reminded me of myself. I love the whole Johnson family. I can't wait till I read book 3.
Read the first book in the set and the 2nd book was not as good as the other one, it was more disjointed and too cheesy. I thought it might carry on from book one and you could read them almost together which would of been great, but I did not enjoy this one as much as the first one.
I am loving following the Johnson Brothers Romance Novels. It is lovely to learn about each Brothers life, hopes and dreams as they materialise. I can recommend reading these series
Author has a great understanding of the masculine personality. Really enjoyed reading this book. Looking forward to reading about the rest of the family.
