Story-telling was passed along to Brenda from both her mother who recounted her missions serving in the French Underground during WWII and her grandmother who used to tell "about the time it rained fish" and other stories from her past. After 37.5 years teaching in 3 states in the US as well as in Korea and Germany with the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Brenda wrote ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES (her mom's biography), TALENT LUCK COURAGE (a memoir of her mom & uncle's experiences during WWII), MISCHIEVOUS MATCHMAKERS (a novel inspired by a visit to Paris with her Mom) and STARTING OVER (another novel loosely based on her year of teaching in Korea), and her third novel, LITTLE SPARROW, based on her Aunt Helene who died in the Holocaust. She currently lives in Chelsea, AL with her husband and their spoiled rotten little dog.

Mischievous Matchmakers is by Brenda Hancock. This is a very cute novel about finding lasting love through the hard work of two young girls. The story is well written and easy to read. Although it is predictable, it does have a twist you are not expecting.
Kathleen was very happy with her two daughters, her house, and her job. The only thing missing was her husband, Jason. He had died leaving her with two young girls to raise. So far, she had done well. The girls were happy in their home and school. They too missed their Dad; but were more concerned with getting their Mom to really laugh again. She needed a man!
Heather and Holly decided they could find a man and go on a trip too. They convinced their Mom to go to England and France. Instead of flying, they wanted to take a ship over. Since Jason had left the well-cared for financially, she didn’t hesitate book their passage.
As soon as they unpacked on the ship, the two girls went to find a husband for Kathleen. The first ones they picked were out for only one thing; but they were really handsome; but they weren’t fit for Kathleen. She wasn’t looking for anyone and began to get irritated with her girls. A gentleman had been watching her dating nightmare and finally intervened. If she would go along with his idea, he would guarantee the girls would back off. It was worth a try.
Can they pull it off?
