A woman scorned by a god, a daughter no one knew existed, and a plan for vengeance.
Delilah was raised in another realm. It was the only way her mother could ensure that she would survive. Being the daughter of Medusa was a risk to her life. Not only could she not look into her own mother’s eyes, but if her father were to find out she existed, he would have called for her death.
For centuries she was protected by the witches who promised her mother they would keep her safe, but something changed. The power inside of Delilah awakened and called her to return to Earth, just in time for the rebirth of the Gods who took everything away from her.
Will Delilah get the justice she is after? Will the Gods punish her as they did her mother?
Find out in the second installment of the Scorned by the God Series by USA Today Bestselling Author, Jessica Cage.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, writing has always been a passion for Jessica Cage. She dabbles in artistic creations of all sorts but at the end of the day, it's the pen that her hand itches to hold. Jessica had never considered following her dream to be a writer because she was told far too often "There is no money in writing." So she chose the path most often traveled. During pregnancy she asked herself an important question. How would she be able to inspire her unborn son to follow his dreams and reach for the stars, if she never had the guts to do it herself? Jessica decided to take a risk and unleash the plethora of characters and their crazy adventurous worlds that had previously existed only in her mind, into the realm of readers. She did this with hopes to inspire not only her son but herself. Inviting the world to tag along on her journey to become the writer she has always wanted to be. She hopes to continue writing and bringing her signature Caged Fantasies to readers everywhere.
I really wish with the sapphic badassery that is this story that I could give it 5 stars, but 4 is still good. Continuity and edits were a large issue again and overall some areas felt rushed where others were drug on because of previous characters. I do enjoy this author though and am glad I have more of them to read.
I choose this rating because it was the best transition that I have ever read between books 1 and 2 but... the spelling and grammatical mistakes were atrocious. There were so many mistakes that the mistakes altered the events in the story several times. Additionally, I felt like the Titans and Iris's backstory was rushed too fast. I would have loved to read more about Rhea's dominion, how Iris came to be (and why she was different in book 1), the reason behind Phoebe's motivation, and more reasons why Athena was a villian. I have to admit, I had expected the Goddess of Wisdom to support the #me too movement and I was expecting Pegasus and Poisdeon to show up. Overall, the book was too rushed. There was so much foreplay with a too quick finish. If the author reads my review, please make the fantasy stories longer.
