I'm feeling kind of lazy, so I'm not up to writing a review on this book. I'm just going to record my impressions...

This was a quick and OK read that could have been better developed if it had been written as a full-length novel. As it was, Duncan and Kennedy's relationship seemed too rushed to me, and the fact that they started off with having sex in the dark without her knowing who he was didn't make me believe their connection was genuine. I didn't even feel she was attracted to Duncan, since their interactions in broad daylight were all lukewarm, and not once she thought/hoped that the man she was sleeping with could be him. So how could this be love?

The last-minute threat against her was also unncessary, IMHO. It triggered Kennedy's "epiphany", so to speak, but it was so unexpected that it didn't make much sense. It wasn't too exciting as it should have been either because I never felt her life was in any real danger, so the whole thing just fell flat.

I've read 2 books by Ms. Walker before and really enjoyed them, but this one wasn't in the same league.

Fast, enjoyable shape shifter story from an author I am just now discovering. So far I have enjoyed her work but not sure that most of her books appeal to what I want to read. Hunter's Pride drew me right in from page one and held my attention. It is a straightforward tale of Duncan, the leader of a shape-shifting cougar pride and Kennedy, the woman he helped to save when she was a young teen. After leaving the town where she had been brutalized by her step-father, Kennedy returns to reconsider what she wants to do with her life and to learn what she can about the unusual cougars she keeps remembering in her dreams and how they rescued her. Despite Duncan and his pride's attempts to distract her and hide the truth of their existence, he and Kennedy are drawn to each other. They need to figure out what is right for each as individuals, for them as a couple and for the pride as a whole.

I read this book during a time I didn't know much about paranormal romances. And I didn't even know that this was part of a series when I read this. However regardless of all that, I enjoyed this one because Ms. Walker's writing style, characters and storyline demands nothing less from the reader.

Another short story by Ms Walker starting the Hunters series. This one takes place in a modern setting in Pride, Michigan, set beside a beautiful forested mountain.

Kennedy returns to her childhood home years after leaving behind a brutal, sexual attack by her step-father. She's never forgot the strange circumstances of her rescue from him and is determined to finds answers.

Duncan Pride, the Alpha of the Pride Mountain pack, is just as determined to keep her in the dark, literally. Until he falls hopelessly in love with this comparatively, physically weak, but mentally and emotionally strong human.

For a short story, this is full of facinating details of how the werewolf hunters live, hiding amongst the humans. There's a terrifying escape, a frantic hunt and lots of romantic sex. It reminds me slightly of a werewolf version of Twilight. And, yes, I cried.

Favorite scene: Kennedy's introduction to the Pride after the fight.

"Hunter's Pride" by Shiloh Walker. A stand alone novella in The Hunters series.

**NOTE** It can be read any time thoughout the series as the storyline does not include any recurring series characters.

I loved this story! A departure from vampires, this story focuses on shapeshifters who can shift into large cougar-like cats.

It starts off with Duncan, a young man/shifter who saves a young girl named Kennedy during a brutal attack. Kenney moves away for years but comes back to town because of a death in the family. Duncan is reunited with Kennedy but she has no idea who he really is...the cat that save her life.

Such a touching story. In my eBook copy there were a few grammer mistakes and once Kennedy was referred to as Kendall, but the overall storyline was very well written. Works very well as a stand alone read. I really loved it.

This is a short story that is written in the hunter's world, none of our favorite characters show up in this story. This was an interesting story just a little short and quick on the action and romance actually. Some of this story happens way to quickly for me and what the characters were put through previously they jump right past there issues and into bed rather quickly. This was a good story though for the cost.
