People in the business of saving lives live by two rules: 1. Never tempt the juju 2. Shit happens in threes
When sassy, sleep deprived, ER nurse Olivia Aberdeen is charmed awake by sexy Trauma Doc Anderson Cole it’s three-hundred and sixty joules of instant sizzle and swoon, but with their own personal wounds barely stitched together, the couple struggles to reconcile their past heartaches, making a fairy tale ending about as unlikely as a Chicago Cubs World Series Win.
Yet, for Liv and Andy a happily ever after is only a heartbeat away until a deadly contagion infiltrates their emergency room. Together, Dr. Cole and Nurse Aberdeen must battle their bad juju and the rule of threes after Andy’s decision to save one life could cost Olivia her own.
Outstanding and great fun! Though I didn't get all the doctor jargon the romance was believable and exciting. I'd tried romance novels before when reading Christine Feehan, and they were just awful. the writing was so bad my friends and I shared the book around just for a good laugh and I put it down after page five. THIS BOOK ON THE OTHER HAND was fantastic! I was gripped by all the cliffhangers and spent a Friday (I was supposed to be working) reading the book in one go!
Ellis writes wonderful Male protagonists who are human and has a great sense of humor. I give How a Heart Beats five hard ons out of five.
I'm a guy and read this book on a dare. Glad I did. Haven't read a sexy-steamy romance before and learned quite a bit. And not just from the medical situations & jargon. Highly Recommended.
This book was a mix of medical drama, southern charm, sexy fun times. I couldn't stop turning the page, especially when the Blood Flu hit. Overall an enjoyable read.
When the contagion hits, there’s some great suspense. I really enjoyed watching them work together and save lives. This is the first book I’ve read from Ellis Kaye and definitely not the last!
