World famous musician Andrew Morgan serves a prison sentence for killing his wife, Sandy - a crime he didn't commit. His ex-wife Beth planted overwhelming evidence against him, so he feels literally and figuratively trapped in a hopeless situation. Reporter Jan Smith is compelled to help Andrew prove his innocence, but time is running out as every day in prison could be Andrew's last. Meanwhile, outside events will soon coalesce to affect Andrew's life. Coast Guard Petty Officer Craig Hendershott rescues a Jane Doe from the raging sea, linking them forever. Handsome and powerful Spanish tycoon Ernesto Chavez finds Margaret Buchanon irresistible, and her appeal may entice this bachelor to finally tie the knot. The fine line between sanity and insanity will be tested as the two move rapidly toward matrimony. Two of Ernesto's employees, Maria Sarduchi and Tonya de Lugo, learn some of Beth Morgan's secrets. They will either become good detectives-or dead ones. Ultimately, eight individuals come face to face in a powerful courtroom battle that rocks international shores. As the truth is revealed, will it be worth the price as Beth's devastating wrath comes full circle?
Marcee Corn lives in the mountains of North Carolina with her husband, R.L. Corn, also an author, and their English Cream Golden Retriever, Tucker. She spends her time writing, shopping for and selling antiques in her shop, The Twisted Twig Antiques & Accents in Banner Elk NC.
She has four published novels, UNCLAIMED BAGGAGE- a memoir of her mother's journey through Alzheimer's Disease, ALWAYS THADDEUS, a thriller/suspense novel and, the sequel to ALWAYS THADDEUS, ALWAYS THADDEUS: THE RESURRECTION. And she is co-author of GOLDEN HEART: WE ARE YOUR FAMILY, written for orphans around the world. Marcee also enjoys writing short stories. She has had one short story published titled, RAVEN.
"Dream big my friends, and then make those dreams come true."
Having read ‘Always Thaddeus’ (Book 1), I can attest the authors transitioned into ‘Always Thaddeus: The Resurrection' (Book 2), seamlessly, recapitulating just enough for the first book to flow into the second. I recommend reading Book 1 to get the full emotional impact of this well-written, riveting series.
The ocean as metaphor for Beth Morgan/Margaret Buchanon’s psychosis, and the tempest she brews for all in her path, is a powerful vehicle driven by this talented team of writers. As brought out, the book cover itself portrays the struggle for dominance between darkness and light.
Because of Beth’s darkness, each major character is reduced to the rubble one finds washed ashore after a storm: Andrew Morgan, Sandy Morgan, Ernesto Chavez, Maria Sarduchi, Tonya de Lugo, and Craig Hendershott.
The authors put these characters through harrowing ordeals, altering who they once were, shattering former bonds of love, and leaving them adrift to reassemble.
However, subtly hinted in the book title—hope is resurrected:
“With hope comes strength for those who no longer have their own. Hope is always available to anyone who has the courage to claim it.”
Empowering words, felt even more so by what unfolds in this highly recommended, jaw-dropping thriller.
The sequel to Always Thaddeus is as compelling as the work it follows. Who is Jane Doe? Who is Margaret Buchanan and or Beth Morgan? Was Andrew Morgan guilty? Whatever happened to Sandy? Who did Ernesto Chavez marry? Will he get a chance for happiness? Will Sanity prevail? How? Who will survive, and who will be forced to deal with a dual personality? Coast guard petty officer Craig Hendershott and reporter Jan Smith of the Augusta Herald both search for answers – but will the answers make them happy? Is Thaddeus alive? Does the title hint at his resurrection?
To answer all the questions, one must go deep into the text and ponder the deep oceans of the main characters’ minds. There are losses to deal with, from Jane Does’ loss of memory to Andrew Morgan’s loss of freedom. Will the end give them the closure they dream of? What is the ideal outcome for a tortured soul – when everybody suffers? Always Thaddeus: The Resurrection is a grown-up novel that doesn’t give easy answers. It poses deep questions and leaves it to the reader to find the underlying truths. The easy answers aren’t forthcoming and that is the greatest strength of this unusual romance thriller. Still, this isn’t a book that leaves you feeling doomed. It points to hope as the best part of life.
The drama and suspense continues with this latest thriller by authors Marcee and Rob Corn. Andrew Morgan has been wrongly convicted of murdering his wife Sandy and is currently serving his sentence in prison. His first wife Beth’s diabolical plan to frame him has come off without a hitch, or has it? Beth aka Margaret goes to Barcelona to meet with a former, wealthy lover and begin a new life–but her fractured mental state and troubled past are beginning to show their cracks.
Craig, a coast guard officer, takes a heroic risk to save a woman clinging to life on a buoy in rough seas. The Jane Doe is alive, but her injuries are extensive–will she ever come to and regain her memories? Jan, a reporter who watched Andrew’s trial, starts to question the prosecution’s case against him. She meets with the beleaguered prisoner and finds new information. Her research leads to a chance encounter on social media that unveils a terrific twist to the story–but will she be able to prove it and convince the law that Andrew has been wrongly accused?
A woman deranged by grief sets the stage for a story with twists and turns on every page. Human perseverance and the pursuit of justice leads to a thrilling conclusion. A great read, highly recommended!
A stunning conclusion to the Always Thaddeus series. After reading the first book, I sorta guessed a few of the things that The Resurrection would have, but I certainly could never have guessed how it would turn out. It is brilliantly written, never giving too much away. And what an ending! It’s a resurrection, new birth, new beginnings. We all knew that Andrew was innocent, and wrongly convicted of the murder of his wife Sandy. Forced to spend his days in prison, literally fighting for his very survival. He had no hope, no way to prove his innocence, and no one that cared. That was until a news reporter, started to unravel the strings of this tangled travesty. This writing team of Marcee and Rob Corn have put together a gripping sequel, that is, in my opinion, even better than the original. Five magnificent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for a read that will have you smiling at the end.
Marcee Corn an her husband,RL Corn deliver a brilliant counting of a life, many lives, fractured and entangled in a series of twists and turns. Guaranteed you’ll be turning Page after thrilling Page. Beth, Andrew’s ex wife, is such a diabolically and aberrant Woman, who sets about her evil plan to,not only take lives in her way,but successfully frames her ex,Andrew for the murders. When a woman’s badly named body is flung by the coast guard, she has no memory and is left with more questions than answers. Who is she? No spoilers here. A friend called upon, after Margaret, Beth, engages in a ‘romance’ with a very wealthy Spaniard, is called upon to find Margaret’s past. Andrew has been framed. But, how and when will his nightmare, including constant torment and beatings by a very nefarious character,(whose last name, quite ironically is the same as mine-Arrigo-Jimmy( Sorriso) Arrigo. Trust me that moniker (Sorriso-meaning smile) is a tough, insecure, thug. Want more? Highly,VERY highly recommend you grab a copy. (While this page turning thriller stands alone, I also, recommend you reading Always Thaddeus first! Love how both husband and wife crafted an innovative method of ‘telling’ the latter part of the tale from individual character perspectives! (Unedited)
I'm glad that I read the series, but I can't say that I was left with a good feeling once the tale had ended. I so wished Andrew would find love again with Sandy. There were quite a lot of loose ends at the end of the book..
