Story takes place in the Omegaverse. Hobson Hills Omegas: Book Five
Abel Lawson is haunted by the memory of an alpha that was just supposed to be a one-night stand. He can't seem to get Mateo out of his head even with a busy and full life to distract him. When he discovers he is pregnant, Abel realizes he wants the whole package. He wants the baby, the husband, and the white picket fence. There is still the little problem of the several thousand miles separating him from the man he wants.
Mateo Medina isn't one to let a good thing pass him by. He knows he found the omega of his dreams and he's determined to find him. Luckily for him, fate is on his side. When his best friend calls him and offers him a job in the very pub Abel owns, Mateo knows he is destined to be with the omega that stole his heart. He takes a chance and moves his small family to Maine.
Together, Abel and Mateo build a family and a bond that will see them through everything - fear of heartbreak, protective parents, pushy grandmothers, angry siblings, and dangerous trouble.
Author's Note: Around 40,000 words. This is a m/m, non-shifter, mpreg insta-love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please. It is the fifth book in the series and should be read after the Hobson Hills short, "Justin's Journey." (Book 4.5)
I have been self-publishing since October 2018. My books are extremely light and fluffy m/m romance with mpreg, and while they span a few subgenres of romance, they have similar themes of found family and love at first sight. Besides writing, I enjoy reading everything I can get my hands on, especially m/m romance. My personal favorites are mpreg, sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal.
This was book 5 in the "Hobson Hills Omegas"series. Omega Abel Lawson and his brother Ernie go on beach vacation he hooks up with a hot sexy Alpha but he has to leave when they find out Justin's mother dies he leaves a note for the Alpha. Mateo Medina can't believe he has found his omega and when he finds out that Abel left he knows it's time to head back to the state's. When his friend Rueben calls him and ask him if he needs a job and where it is he packs up and heads to Maine to get his omega. Mateo has a son from a previous relationship he also has custody of his 12 year old sister his parents died recently. This was a pretty good read Mateo shows up during Justin and Tanners wedding reception. Abel has a surprise for him as well. This book also has some drama in it when someone tries to kill Mateo the Wilson's come out in full force. Turns out the same person that killed his parents is the same person that wanted him dead. This was a good read I love this family. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
This series is one of my guilty pleasures! I loved this story.. but the editing really got on my nerves. Misplaced or misused names... and ages of the characters.. ugh!!..... But....I still look forward to the next book. 🤷🏾♀️
When I read a Hobson Hills book I feel like I’m home
When a new CW book comes out I immediately stop reading whatever book I am reading and immediately start the book. This series is so full of love and family you cannot help but have all of the feelings that CW brings out of you.
I haven't read any of the previous books in the Hobson Hills Omegas series, but I didn't feel lost at any point.
Abel and Mateo were very well suited for one another and I loved how good they were with Mateo's son and his little sister. I also really liked Abel's friends and family, they were all so supportive of Abel and Mateo when they needed them and it was heartwarming.
This book had everything I've come to rely on when reading this type of book, the sweetness, the instalove and the sense of family and community. Plus, a bit of a mystery that made the story a bit more action-packed than I expected, not that that's a bad thing. The story moved along at a fast-pace and there was some violence and low-angst, but overall, I found it enjoyable.
My favorite part was Kenneth Obi's narration. It was so entertaining to listen to him bringing all the characters to life and he always gives a quality performance.
I showed up a little late to this party and dropped into the series on book 5. It took me a while to get up to speed, but once I did, I found these people to be very endearing. There was a familial bond that was very well displayed in the words. A lot of dialogue propels this story and does so in a way that does not feel forced. There is a nasty little surprise revealed that gives this tale a satisfying "Scooby Doo" ending.
I suggest starting at book 1, but these do tell individual tales that can stand alone if you don't mind missing out on some great backstories.
This was another great addition to the Hobson Hills Omega series. I'm glad that I got to read Mateo and Abel's story. It was cute. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.
I love this series. I loved Abel, Mateo, the pets and the kids. The Wilson family was, as always, full of love and drama. Can't wait for Rueben's story!
Read this book if you are looking for a feel-good romance with a mystery.
The story is low-angst regarding the romance between the MCs but someone is causing problems and they don’t know who it is.
Abel (O) is a brewer and part owner of the local bar. While on vacation he has his first one night stand but, it doesn’t feel like a one night stand. Mateo (A) takes care of his son and recently gained custody of his troubled sister. When he meets Abel the idea of moving back to the states doesn’t seem so terrible. Abel does his best to reach out to Mateo’s sister and help bring her out of her shell. The two men get together and, with the extended Wilson family, work to solve the mystery of who is trying to harm them and why.
This book is rated 4 stars. The writing style is quick and to the point with insta-love and easily solved problems. The issues that arise are addressed and discussed by the characters involved. Past and present side characters add to the overall quality of the story.
Side Note: The side characters you are introduced to in this book have, or may in the future get, a book of their own. Every character is unique and the individual books in this series reflect this.
Personal Note: I enjoyed the guessing game for who was involved in the break ins. Abel is one of my favorite characters within this series with his love for brewing and hesitation to actually grow his own crops. I already knew quite a bit about Abel from the previous books and getting to know him better in his own book was great. This series still won’t make my favorites list but I will pick it up if I want a quick, easy, feel-good story.
To my ratings: A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year), it's like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok) It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
I loved Abel and Mateo’s story. They meet when Abel is on vacation in the Caribbean, where Mateo bartends. They click instantly and spend a night together, but then Abel has to suddenly leave and cannot find Mateo to tell him, so he thinks that his chance at happiness is ruined. Fortunately Fate has other plans and when Mateo’s friend unknowingly calls him to be a bartender at Abel’s pub they are reunited. There’s the usual menagerie of animals and meddling family, and I love that although in this series there's always a background story of something or the other going wrong, behind the romance, in the end it's not the focus and it doesn't detract from the characters' love story!
Honestly, I wasn't sure how to feel about Abel since we don't get to know him that well throughout the series. I really thought when they introduced Charlie, that he would be attempting to murder Abel in cold blood for that recipe before the first half of the book was over, but I was relieved to be wrong. Instead we get two attempts on two different people's lives by a hired gun. All while there's about 13 kids running around and I think at least 3-4 people are pregnant. Too many characters still, and yet we're still adding more because Mateo can't have possibly been an only child. I'm looking forward to Noah's story, but everyone else's is basically just for fun for me at this point to see how ridiculous they can get.

One thing you can say about this author, they are consistent in their flaws, but they are also consistent in their projection of love of family in every story... umm, I think that is two things! LOL!!!
Even though I get a bit frustrated with something every time I read one of these stories, I can't help myself... I just have to finish the book and move on to the next one... it is a compulsion! *grin*
Abel and Mateo were great together and their love of family and animals just make the relationship work!
BTW: Where are Mateo's tats and piercings on the cover? Asking for a friend... ;p
A cute and fun story with low angst and a few twists to keep you hooked all the way through. Abel and Mateo are great together and I really like how well they blend together. They did run into some danger and have a mystery in their hands with an unexpected villain. I like how everything worked out to get them their HEA. The narrator did an okay job with the story and the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.
CW Gray's Hobson Hill Omegas has become my go-to for sweet, low angst heartwarming reads and A Pint for the Omega is no exception. Able is on vacation and meets Mateo. They talk and spend the night together, but things back home change, and Able leaves.
Mateo follows after a call from his old Navy buddy and love, babies, car accidents and gun fights follow. The Lawsons are all over and they make this book great. Love the relationship between Mateo and Able and of course they get their HEA.
I found this series two days ago in stay up reading each and every one . A lot family pets and love . But also pain suffering. You want the hero to win and triumph. While the bad people suffer in pain. I couldn't put it down the journey begins with a single leap in adventureland of strange beauty and love.
A Pint for the Omega is the fifth book in the Hobson Hills series by CW Gray. This contemporary m/m romance contains a non-shifter mpreg insta-chemistry and very little angst in the romance with hint of drama in the world of the characters. Able and Mateo are amazingly sweet characters with a lovestory that made me happy and smiley. The supporting characters are also fun. Really enjoyable story.
I love love loved Mateo and Abel's story!! It just warmed my heart, it was so great! I also enjoyed the plot, it was very interesting. And as always with this series I adored the family bonds. I listened the audio book and the narrator was amazing!
Beautifully written and narrated. It starts off in Hawaii and ends in Hobson Hills, the mystery of who is trying to hurt Mateo is finally revealed at the end, with a happy ending insight. Can't wait to continue the series
A whole series of books - lots of insta-lust, love and sex with sexy MC's and secondary characters who get their own story next, and so it goes throughout the series. Very entertaining and easy reading. Glad I planned to read them all, they were definitely best read one after the other in order.
If you like to fun short read this is the 1 for you. All the books In the series Give you insta love at its finest. There is also a little bit of whodunit mystery to put in the mix Along with all the different characters and animals This book just makes you smile.
A chance encounter, family interruption, time and distance all get in the way of a new romance. But this is Hobson Hills so things will turn out right. I love each couple's story and this one is no exception. And the whole family is alway entertaining.
One night on St. Martin’s and Abel and Mateo definitely want more time together. Enjoy how Mateo and Abel find each other again, settle among their families, survive dangerous attacks, and and deepen their love with cuddles and steamy moments!!!
i have so many thoughts but at the end of the day i knew it was going to be ridiculous i just didn't know HOW absurd and patience testing it would get. maybe ill come back and tell u how bad it was im too tired rn
