“The Fearless don’t settle for slow, safe and easy”
I must, first of all, commend Mack Joseph Huckabee for this great work. Onward is a very practical book written for those who wish to grow in all aspects of their lives as leaders. In this book, there is something for everybody, whether you are a parent, a boss at the office, a coach or a teacher.
Huckabee throws a lot of light on the qualities one must adopt if he or she wants to be a great leader. Qualities such as fearlessness, courage, and determination—especially fearlessness. If you are too afraid to pursue that which you so much desire you will definitely die a dreamer.
Huckabee outlines three words that can be of guidance to you in your journey. These words are courage, hustle, and heart. He explains how applying these three words can help you to attain your aspirations.
The author’s play of words and the use of common historical events to get to the audience and deliver his point is far more interesting than some of the books I’ve read on leadership in the past. Onward is very engaging and interactive. I can go on and on talking about this book but it will be in your best interest to get a copy for yourself.

Broken down into 7 sections from starting strong to building teams and finally changing the frame, the author takes classic and timeless leadership advice and rebrands (or reframes) it in todays cultural language so that the new generation of leaders might better grasp the concepts and be able to build them into how they operate as leaders. Some of the concepts that are explored are owning your work, downsides of technology, knowing your audience, the art of empathy, working the plan and so many more. The real difference in this book is that he takes movies and books such as Cloverfield, Jurassic Park, Rocky, Game of thrones, Wall Street, Alien, Inception, Black Panther and so on an he recounts pivotal moments of this work. In doing this, he ties this pivotal moment to a leadership advice and so makes it relevant in today’s world.
I think this book is really well written and its almost exciting in its reading. I felt as if I was on the edge of my seat, and that’s not easy to do in a book that’s supposed to be about leadership. I think this is a phenomenal book told in a gripping way which is unusual for this genre, but it absolutely works wonders!

Do you know what it feels like to own the moment? Onward: The Art of Leadership by Mark Joseph Huckabee writes a book that will motivate you to make that moment multiple. With seven sections highlighting greatness that has happened around you, the author reveals the steps that made these people, teams, businesses, or entertainment events a step above the normal.

I loved that Mark Joseph Huckabee opened his book up with Vincent Lombardi! This man is a legend in coaching and leadership, one of my personal favorites. What makes Onward: The Art of Leadership unique from other leadership books is the variety of which leadership comes from. This book touches every part of your life and inspires you to reach for greatness. I love how the author shows remarkable events came through tough times and difficult circumstances. Overall, I found this book impressive. The author's organized writing allows the reader to find motivation at their fingertips. I am looking forward to sharing this book with my children.

Transforming What Could be an Anchor into Power

Onward: The Art of Leadership by Mark Joseph Huckabee is not your ordinary instructional book on how to be a leader. It is, dynamically, a leader's practical illustrative guide on leadership in action.

The book powerfully captures what leadership looks like by discussing and drawing the reader in by discussing various well-known movies, sporting events, captains of industry, film producers, military geniuses and strategists, statesmen, etc.

A sampling of these leaders that are identified include the Alexander the Great, Winston Churchill, Steve Jobs, Napoleon Bonaparte and Steven Spielberg to name a few. In one particular chapter, he speaks to the mind and heart of leaders by encouraging them to "own their own work." In his inspiring and dynamic writing, he backs this teaching by exploring the work of Sylvester Stallone behind the scenes and the development of the classic movie Rocky.

In another one of the chapters, he also encourages the leader to take on the seeming indomitable forces of business. He drives this point home by discussing the Molotov cocktail and its use to negate the power of tanks during World War II.

This reader found this book to be very exciting and presenting a very unique perspective. The driving home of teaching lessons to the novice business person or the most seasoned will be enhanced.

The author's use of modern day entertainment films, historical figues and events and successful leaders today is most meaningful and powerful.

Huckabee also has chosen appropriate and meaningful quotes as he develops the various leadership traits that he teaches and drives his point home in capsulating the lesson. One such quote from the book states that the top trait of leaders is, "They never quit learning and growing. Leaders are perpetual students…"

He closes his extraordinary book on leaderships by talking about the process of reframing. This mind and heart set is inspirational, powerful and enabling. "You cannot change the picture. You cannot change the past. You can change us meaning."

Finally, he adds credibilty and power to what he has been sharing by expressing his own personal story.

Onward: The Art of Leadership by Mark Joseph Huckabee is more than a book of ideas. It is an energy that will help to rewire one's mind set as well as bring harmony and meaning to one's life. It will not only help one's business acumen, but in every role that they find that they are fulfilling in life. Those roles could be father, mother, husband, wife, etc.

"Leadership is a once in a lifetime journey with no final destination". "It's a way of living life". These are two phrases you can find in the introduction of the book, and I thought it was a book that required reading without hesitation.
This book is divided into seven sections and far from being a monotonous leadership book, it is a book full of useful information. In each section there are short stories that make analogies on different topics.
Perhaps, for the readers the theme that the author wants to develop is imperceptible at the beginning of the stories, but Mark Joseph Huckabee guides us in a clear and intelligent way, and thus we discover that leadership is part of the personality of each individual.
You have to be a leader in life first to be a leader in business. I really like that he has referenced so many movies and books to demonstrate how to be a good leader.
Onward: The art of leadership is an unusual book; it is a very organized reading and at the same time very motivating.
I certainly recommend reading this book and, for me, it deserves five stars.

From a different perspective. A must-read book.

The book called “Onward: The Art Of Leadership”, written by Mark Huckabee comes up with a valuable and original idea that will show people the importance of leadership in a memorable way.
What I like the most about this book is that each chapter provides well-known examples of people who have achieved their goals by “owning their work”. This book highlights the idea that “Leadership is a life-long journey with no final destination” so Leaders are in perpetual and constant search of choosing their best way to live their lives.
There are several examples of literature, history and cinema that make the reading much more absorbing and engaging. I found it very inspirational and helpful. It is well-developed and organized. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone because it leaves a powerful message: “there is nothing incapable of accomplishing (…) you are the hero of this story”. So, read it and then ignite “your” own fire and prepare to be a good leader in your life.

A Unique and Innovative Approach to Leadership.

This book presents a dynamic new perspective of leadership and self-development which may also be used as a guide to uplift organizations and their personnel as well. Actual examples from history, politics, and the cinema that the author has drawn from real life, dramatically illustrate how it is possible to not only enrich and empower oneself as a leader but also, to dynamically improve the effectiveness of the working environment and achieve phenomenal results. The central theme of this book is that leadership is not simply a set of managerial actions or behavior, but a journey in life with no actual final destination, but a process of continuing enrichment that contributes towards a successful and inspirational life. Written in a style that will resonate easily, and be a source of powerful guidance and inspiration for, especially younger and ambitious readers, this book is a unique and invaluable tool for the modern leader in all walks of life.

Onward: The Art of Leadership by Mark Joseph Huckabee is a very important book and one must truly have as a guide not only for professional life but also when it comes to life in general. What I love about this book is how inspiring it is. Just by reading the first few lines, I can already feel how positive and enthusiastic it is in so many ways.

The book was encouraging especially as it gives advise on how to own your own self, be confident, and always be courageous. As it also takes principles and ideas from notable people such as Winston Churchill and Nelson Mandela, I found this book to be really of great use.

Growing up, I believed I was never born to be a leader because I am a shy and introvert person but just by reading this book I knew I could be one if I just follow it. This, for me, is very important because even in your daily life, you need to be your own hero and your own leader to succeed. As a whole, this was a great book. I believe every aspiring leader can truly benefit of it.

“The Art of Leadership. The Art of living. Every moment the story of your life is being written. And you hold the pen.” Wise and invaluable pieces of advice like this one are the ones you will encounter as you read Onward: The Art of Leadership by Mark Joseph Huckable.
This book came to me by chance and, at first I was a bit doubtful whether to read it or not since I thought it was mainly about business. Luckily, I don’t generally trust in first impressions because this book is a jewel. Inspirational, powerful and life-changing, I found myself binge reading.
This piece of writing is divided into seven sections, each of them with eye-catching titles. The author employs well-known films and books, and historical events and characters to contextualize and illustrate common-sense, down-to-earth advice that will help you become a great leader. This way of presenting the topics makes it very interesting and pleasant to read.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make a change in their life.

Leadership has many different forms (not just business or military leadership). Leadership is a never-ending journey; there is no knowing "everything" about leadership. Leaders never stop growing and learning. This book gives the details.

The book explores concepts like Living Your Principles, The "How" of Leadership, Building Great Teams and Managing Your Life. He uses many present-day examples to illustrate each concept. Steven Spielberg makes an appearance in this book, along with Muhammad Ali, Elon Musk, Nelson Mandela, Hunter S Thompson and Ayn Rand. Also included in this book are movies like Black Panther, To Kill a Mockingbird, Star Wars, Cloverfield, Avengers, Deadpool and Avatar.

Each section is only a couple of pages long. They end with the leadership lesson reduced to one or two sentences in bold font, making this book very easy to read. It is the sort of book that can be picked up and read starting on any page. This is certainly recommended for anyone in a position of leadership, and for everyone else, too.

Onward: The Art of Leadership is creative, inspiring, uplifting and motivating. Author Mark Joseph Huckabee uses perfect examples of popular artists and successful people who have become leaders in today’s modern world with ideas, creations and projects they’ve sought to achieve; have been so successful that in today’s time people of any age could feel identified with.
Each chapter is perfectly displayed and practical to read and understand. I found this read very motivating to be a better leader, I learned that not all leaders lead the same way but they can all learn from each other to become successful together. This book gives a great amount of motivation to anyone, not just people who happen to be in leadership roles. Leading might not always be easy but thankfully we have books such as Onward that become more than books, they become manuals which bring positivity and challenges to every reader to become a better leader and person. Overall, this is an incredible read and completely recommended!

Onward: The Art of Leadership by Mark Joseph Huckabe very informative and educational book. What caught my attention right away was the fact that I already knew the teachers that the author chose to guide his words with. I think it’s very smart to use modern examples of discipline, creativeness, and success in businesses, art and more. It’s very interesting for readers to be living in the same era as them, which makes it more relatable and motivational.

I think this is one of those books we can go back as many times as we feel the need to, and it’s never going to get old, it’s going to teach us something different each time. The author did a really good job making this book a source of empowerment for everyone in any aspect you could think of.

Don’t let the title decided for you on this reading; you are getting so much more than just learning how to be a leader in your life. This book is going to help you grow and help others grow as well. I’m recommending this one to everyone, to every person wanting to improve and better themselves.

Onward: The Art of Leadership, written by Mark Huckabee is a guidance book on how to become a good leader in the 21st century which discloses new visions on leadership and success.
The book is divided in 7 sessions and the author was able to craft a final product that is more than a leadership book. What he did was offering a different perspective on how to become a good leader by taking classic leaders like Nelson Mandela, Michael Corleone or Winston Churchill and adapting their pieces of advice or their ways of acting as leaders of today’s language so that new generations could be able to understand better what leadership is about.
The book is catchy since each of the 7 different sessions containS a short story with real-world examples that would make the reading easy to follow.
As a motivational book, Onward: The Art of Leadership, definitely serves as an incentive, but not only for people who are looking to improve, or develop, leadership skills.

This book does a great job of teaching leadership lessons both for at work and in everyday life. I liked how the author used movies in many of the chapters as a way of providing these lessons. I thought this method made the lesson more relatable and, also more entertaining to read. I also liked when the author used real life events, such as sporting events, to teach how to be a good leader. These events are very inspirational and can motivate all of us to look at things in a different perspective. I found all the leadership lessons in the book to be useful and valuable. I especially liked and could relate to the chapters about owning your work, when to say no, finding your voice, and raising children. I thought this book had a lot of great information, plus was very enjoyable to read. I would recommend this book for all different types of leaders, whether in a work environment, coaching environment, or home environment.

What an amazing book! “Onward: The Art of Leadership” is a really useful book written by Mark Joseph Huckabee. This is my first time reading something from this author but I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last one. This book presents a new image of success and leadership. It is perfect for these days we are going through and it is showed through different types of arts like: cinema, history, literature.

This book is divided in sections. It has seven sections. Each of them talks about leadership and helps you improve your skills and do better in the near future. All the sections are possible to apply to your life.

Each section is more useful than the last one, but if I have to choose one my favourite is section number six: managing and organization, managing your life.

I would highly recommend it to anyone. Everyone will find something to appreciate. It will leave readers with a great deal to think about.

If you’re interested in learning crucial leadership skills, this is a book you’ll want to read. Written by Mark Joseph Huckabee, the book looks at leaders throughout history that have had their impact on history, culture, and the arts. Readers will discover skills from leaders like Winston Churchill, Gordon Gekko, Viktor Frankl, Nelson Mandela, Pixar, and Michael Corleone to name a few. As you read through the book, you’ll not only learn more about the history and life of these pioneers, but leadership skills as well.

Huckabee writes with an intriguing style that will make putting this book down difficult to do. Unlike many leadership-themed books, this one is written as an engaging story. Rather than reading a list of what you need to do, you’ll learn from real-life events told in a stunning narrative by the author. At 239 pages, it might take some time to read, but the investment is definitely worth it.

Onward: The Art of Leadership was written by Mark Joseph Huckabee.
The cover didn't catch my attention at first, but once I read the description and then the whole book, I was delighted with this inspiring publication.
It is a middle length book that has a bit more than two hundred pages divided into seven sections which are essays of different aspects of leadership. Each of them is really easy to read and motivating, not only for business but also for our personal life.
Without any doubt, this book makes the difference from any other of its kind when taking literature, movies, pop culture and historical figures as examples of leadership strategies. Each of the essays is very well described and developed, which makes the reader empathize with them.
This is the first book I read from this author, and it will certainly not be the last one since I particularly enjoyed his positive and enthusiastic perspective on what happiness, success and leadership really mean.

Mark Joseph Huckabee, the author of this incredible book, dedicated most of his time to put together inspiring facts that make a great leader.
Onward: The art of leadership combines the knowledge and helpful information once given by well-known authors and leading personalities such as Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill, and Elon Musk, among others.
What the author does in this remarkable book is to gather, organise and summarise necessary and useful information that everyone can find handy.
The book has got around 230 pages, and it requires your undivided attention. For these reasons, I recommend you to take some time to enjoy it, to highlight the ideas you find interesting and go back some pages when you think it is necessary. The author carefully and cleverly divides the information in sections, which makes the reading easy to follow.
In my opinion, teenagers, young adults and also those people who want to attain a leading position at work should not miss this book.

Learning but fun!

This book is so good! I love how-to/advice books that are not the usual conventional advice giving. The author has masterfully put together a collection of different people, films, books etc that fully embody different aspects of what it’s like to be a leader. Each story was fascinating and I not only learned a lot about what it takes to be a leader, but also some cool facts about certain movies or people that I didn’t know. It’s cool to read about things in culture that interest you and at the same time learn about what makes them leaders in whatever area they are experts in. I really enjoyed it, and I am going to remember all the lessons for a long time because of how it is written. Super great, and definitely already recommended it to a lot of my friends.

“Onward: The Art of Leadership” is a book written by Mark Joseph Huckabee. It is a middle length book containing less that two hundred and fifty pages. This book shows a new vision of leadership and success for leaders of the 21st Century. All these taught through history, literature and cinema.
For instance, Winston Churchill helps us with public speaking and Nelson Mandela with negotiation tactics. This type of read if very different and interesting. I liked the style very much and reading about these important people is both interesting and culturally informative. Through these famous teachers from all times we will transform our leadership skills and life, as it fuels something inside eager to grow.
It is a very good book, different in the best possible way and very enjoyable. I will definitely recommend reading it and am giving it five stars.

An inspiring look at leadership through motivational words

This is a particularly well written book on good leaders, how to become one, and what to do once you are there. There are many layers to a leader and reaching that goal is a work in progress. This book covers all the facets of becoming a great leader while being presented in such a way that it appeals to all the current generations. The use of movie quotes is a very intriguing way to keep the reader following the information while also giving you a good point of reference and memorizing of the important material. I found the information to be useful and will be helpful in building or growing into an effective and inspiring leader. Check this one out if you are looking for the path to becoming a great leader.

Onward: The Art of Leadership by Mark Joseph Huckabee opens with the great Vince Lombardi, his relentless spirit, his ability not to give up, and to press on even in the direst climate conditions. This is just one example in the book that feature important cultural figures from all walks of life like Sylvester Stallone and Nelson Mandela and how they came to succeed, motivate, and inspire. Think of these people as teachers and learn from them as the author shares their motivations, success stories, and even failures. This is an easy read that is at once inspirational and positive. The examples given are enough to motivate and embolden you to go for it and achieve your dreams. Not just a simple business guide, this is one that will stay with you for a while. Highly recommend.

I often scoff at leadership books and don’t tend to pay much attention to them. Recently, however, I have run across some that I think are actually helpful and useful and not just trite drivel. This is one of those books that demonstrates leadership and show applications in daily life. Whatever your role, you can find a use for this book. We all lead in different ways and can draw upon the lessons outlined in this practical novel to succeed in our efforts.

This is a quick, useful read with lessons that easy to grasp and can be immediately applicable. It will always take a lot of time and effort so that’s not to say this is the answer to all leadership problems. But it is a great start and useful read.

“Onward: The Art of Leadership” is a collection of stories about extraordinary people who have made a difference because of their beliefs and talents.

The most incredible thing about this book is that the people mentioned in this book are all vastly different from one another. Yet, they have left such a great impact in their communities and even the global community. Some of them still have to much to give to the world.

It is not often that you get to learn from the likes of Churchill, Mandela, Steven Spielberg and Elon Musk all in one book.

A book that is an endless source of inspiration. Simply incredible.
